MY MISTAKES ARE MY MISTAKES

(LORD KNOWS I HAVE SO MANY)

ENJOY!

As the years went by, the young silver haired pup grew to learn the blue eyed woman's ways.

When it was time for her to leave, the maids and Jaken were left with his tantrums and days of depression... Somedays he would be quieter than others and ignore his Royal Mother's request for tea. Others, he would become to quiet and barley seen which lead Taisho to take his son out for fresh air and a ride on his true forms back for a bit of fun and cheering.

That was always a temporary fix.

But when it came to the days the Miko would return, the boy would leap for joy and not spare a second of her time to stay. The kingdom would even brighten as he told her countless stories of his tortures he unleashed upon the loyal toad.

And thankfully... today was that day...

During this year, the young prince was a few inches taller than the last time she came as he ran through castle. Sesshomaru passed maids and tripped Jaken, on purpose of course, before he made it to the entry way. When he got to the large double doors, keeping him from the one person he wanted to see the most, he cracked one open then haulted.

There she was, standing in the circle of his father's arms.

She looked the same as always.

Her skin was glowing with happiness while she looked deeply into The Demon Lord's eyes. The also noticed her lips were slightly pink from a recent kiss that had been shared between the two before his arrival.

In the most intimate Inu way, Touga leaned into her and brushed his nose along the length of her owns, making her blush and smile tightly.

This also made the young pup grin.

This was the love he has grown to know and cherish. It would stick with him forever... at least he would wish it too.

And with that final thought, he pushed through the doors to his loving mother.

The silence was killing Kagome.

Touga hadn't spoken a word since last night and now she was frustrated and confused. All he did was help her and in return he was punishing them both with intense silence, which left the small miko completely and utterly alone with her own thoughts. He even stole Myouga, the flea, from her shoulder, who was now sitting comfortably upon his mokomoko.

Sighing, she squeezed out the remaining shampoo, in her sample bottle, into her hands before running them through her hair. Only moments ago they had stopped for a rest break and she was now bathing in a lake a few feet from the campsite. It was to quiet, which led her to wishing Sango was here with her so the two could gossip about how complicated men are and so forth.

But even this made her feel even lonelier.

Scrubbing away at her scalp, a sud fell into her eye causing her to hiss and start rubbing it. She whimpered in pain as a thick fog began to form around her.

The wind shifted into a cooler breeze and leaves shuffled.

"hello?" She squirmed in the water. The hairs on the back of her neck raised in an all to familiar way as she continued to rub her eye and reach for the edge of the lake.

"U-uh... Touga..." Her words were nothing but a whisper as she dropped her arm to cover her bust. The fog around her darkened out the sun and blocked her view of the trees.

Different shades of grey swirled with the smog forming sharp features and Hallow debts. But before it could fully form, the Miko's scream blew the mist away.

Not even seconds later was the dog demon kneeling by her side, "Kagome!?"

"A-aa Face!?"

"What-" Trying to crawl her way out of the waters, she grasped his mokomoko which forced him down and got his hair mingled in with the lake. "Woman, calm down!"

"No!" She kicked water and clawed at his being franticly.

"Kagome!" Growing irritated, he managed to pull the frightened Miko out of the water and craddle her in his arms. She tightly wrapped herself around his neck while curling up against his chest. Pressing her cold nose to his flesh, she trembled from the durastic change in tempature.

"I saw a face!" She repeated.

"Where?"

"Everywhere!"

Looking over the area, Touga's nose twitched as his primal instincts kicked in.

'A demon has been here...' His beast chimmed in. Thanks to his six sense, the inu spotted a substance equivalent to blackened dust floating in the atmosphere. Only his kind could spot such a distinct trail.

He maneuvered Kagome into one arm as he reached the other out to have his fingers stained by the foreign substance.

"My Lord-"

"I know." He confirmed to the flea who was untangling himself from his Lord's wet tresses. Running his hand down the young girls spine to calm her, Taisho set her down and let go once she was firmly standing. "Miko... You need to get dress."

Those words alone, had the girl beat red.

With a gasp, she started trying to cover her goods which made the demons lips quirk up.

"Oh. My. God!" She shoved past him and started scrambling up her belongings. She couldn't count all the times Inuyasha had spotted her bathing but she sure as hell remembered displining him with a 'sit' or two. And if she had a paddle right now, she would beat Touga with it.

With his back turnt, the dog slightly chuckled, "I can assure you I didn't look." And in all honesty he didn't. His eyes were strictly locked on her face the entire time and if he did get a small glimpse it wasn't intentional. But for the Miko, that would be hard to believe...

"I saw-" A heavy hand flattened the flea who chose to add his two sense from behind Taisho's pointed ear.

Kagome just grimanced and walked up to the two, fully dressed and settled. Her skin was still flush with embarrassment as she asked, "What was that?"

"A shadow demon, who goes by the name Koi."

"Shadow demon?"

"Yes. There are few of their kind these's days. They maintain... Unique abilities..." Then Touga did something Kagome had yet to notice untill now. He gripped his left arm as it began to throb irritably. "I'm afraid, I'm not suited to fight him at the moment..."

"You know him?" Kagome looked confused as she observed The Great Dog Demon's actions.

Myouga took this moment to cut in.

"He is one of Ryukotsusei's minions!"

"The dragon knows I've been weakend." Touga sighed before leaning against a large rock along the edge of the lake. As he did this, Kagomes mind flooded with memories of much importance.

...

In the haze of this Touga felt a throbbing pain shoot up his injured arm and gripped it in response. He grunted a bit catching the Miko and toads attention.

"My Lord!"

"Touga?" Kagome looked at the Inu youkai oddly as the Jaken joined his side.

"I Suppose, If you are so determined to go find Midoriko," He grunted out, "I will join you."

"WHAT!?" the two accompanying him jaws dropped in shock. Kagome was about to protests before Jaken said, "But My Lord your arm, and the West. We will be defenseless without you! And even if you leave your arm won't get the proper treatments it needs and you could get sick and DIE!"

"WHAT!?" Kagome repeated looking at the toad dumbfounded.

"Jaken." Touga spoke in a stern voice. Kagome now turned her gaze to the demon clutching his arm that brought a picture to mind. She had recalled So'unga being lodged into his arm when he had returned to save her from the Kitsunes….

"What about your arm?" This time Kagome seemed concerned.

"Thanks to your selfishness and stupidity," Jaken began, "My lord had to suffer a wound on the same day of a full moon. Inu youkai are sensitive to full moons! It is said, if a Inu youkai is to get a wound on the full moon he has to suffer the consequences of healing like a human being. Meaning the wound would take ten times longer to heal then it usually would. It could get infected and kill him you stupid wench!" With a good swipe of her bow, Kagome nailed Jaken in the head leaving him drooling on the floor.

"Surely, Jaken you don't think of me as such a weakling!"

...

Kagomes eyes widen as she realized what was at stake here. All this time she was to worried about her well being then acknowledging that the Inu before her was suffering an extended pain he was not use to. She was by Touga side in a quick few steps. With worry filling her eyes she leaned into his personal space and spoke, "Touga-"

He raised his hand to stopped her words. " A few miles from here, there's a village. We can get there before sunset if we move out now. Then we can speak..."

With those words said, the Inuyoukai straightened up and started walking at a decent pace.

Unwillingly, the Miko respected his wishes and held her peace. She fell into step slightly off to the side of the demon, for she was still embarrassed of their resent interaction. But the silence as usual gave her time to dwell in her thoughts.

There Sesshomaru was.

Always calm and collected as if he knew something everyone else didn't. And it was very possible InuNoTaisho did know something she didn't.

All she had to do was believe in him.

Like Rin did, in her Lord.

"M-my Lady, you called for me?" Jaken stuttered as he scrambled to Inukimi's feet in the garden leading to her eastern wing. The Inu pressed her lips together in discuss as she look down upon the toad.

"Indeed I did." Her gaze cut across the magnificent collection of flowers and delicacies. "I need you to open the gates for some of my... Special guest, who will be arriving soon."

"Special... Guest..?"

"Yes!" She snapped, turning her intimidating stare onto him.

Jaken could only swallow hard as he already regretted Lord Taisho ever leaving. "And if anyone were to bare arms along the western side, I will gladly let these guest dispose of them. Am I clear?"

The toad nodded rapidly.

"Good. My guess we only be a threat if any one shows to be a threat ." She raised her clawed fingers to her eyes for examination. "... And Jaken... if anyone questions my ways, they are to deal with me."

He didn't stay for another word as he took off like the good little messenger he was.

When the forrest opened up to a meadow, Taisho's steps slowed. Kagome walked up beside him spotting a few huts in the distance and turned her wide eyed gaze back on the Inu. She took this moment to search the youkai for any signs of stress and found his jaw was tightly clenched.

"Is this it?" She questioned and got a nod in return.

Touga was in no hurry to get to their next destination.

It made her wonder if the humans here were more brutual in this time than in Inuyasha's. But if so, it would make since that he didn't look forward to cruel cursing and spears being pointed at him. And if they were anything like her grandfather, they would throw a few written oracles for a change...

But these ones...

...would work...
