Well…I'm officially done with my sophomore year of college. That is some scary shit man. But on the bright side, SUMMER IS HERE! I AM DONE UNTIL AUGUST (technically not done, cause I'm taking an online class but ya'll get the point). Sorry that this chapter took a while. I was slammed with studying, projects, and papers the last two weeks of school, and this first week that I've been home has been filled with auditions for shows this summer. Anyhoo, this chapter was kind of fun to write. I really missed writing Seto as a living person, not just a hallucination. Anyway…read and enjoy!

Seto sighed and massaged the back of his neck as he made his way back into his mansion. He hadn't been that angry in a while. He hadn't meant the things he said to Alissa, she had just made him so angry. He knew that he'd have to do some major damage control once he returned to the mansion, but he was sure the problem could be easily fixed with a few well-placed kisses. He stopped by his bedroom to drop off his briefcase before he walked into the music room, where Alissa could usually be found practicing either the guitar or piano. His brows creased in confusion when he found the room empty. Maybe she's in the game room. He entered the game room to find Mokuba staring intently at the screen, but no Alissa.

"Where's Alissa?"

"She texted me saying that you're a dick, that she never wanted to speak to you again, and that you need to go suck a thick one." Mokuba paused his game ad turned towards his brother. "What did you guys fight about this time?"

"She wanted me to take a few days off."

Mokuba sighed. Despite his older brother's IQ being pretty close to two hundred, the older Kaiba could still miss quite a bit.

"That's because you've been neglecting her again, moron."

"I have not been neglecting her!"

"Right. So when was the last time you saw her besides today when she was actually awake?"

The brunet stayed silent. The truth was, he couldn't remember the last time he got home before she had fallen asleep.

"Uh huh, that's what I thought." Mokuba paused momentarily to turn his attention back to his game. "So, are you going to take her on a date?"

"That isn't going to work, Mokuba."

"Why not? That's what she wants essentially, to spend time with you. You don't even have to leave the house. Just take a few days off to spend time with her."

"If I had time I would, Mokuba but I have meetings the rest of this week and well into next week. I can't afford to take days off."

"That's what you have me for, idiot. I was at KaibaCorp for only three hours today before Roland sent me home because he said that you had everything else under control."

"That's because I do have everything else under control."

" I'm Vice President, I'm perfectly capable of running a few meetings."

"That's not the issue, Mokuba. I appreciate that you want to help with the company, but I also want you to have the freedom to pursue what you want to pursue. I don't want you to feel like working at KaibaCorp is the only future you're allowed to have."

"But working at KaibaCorp is what I want for my future."

"Mokuba? Are you sure? You haven't even started your first year of college yet. Are you sure you don't want to wait to make that kind of decision?"

"Of course I'm sure. We're a team. I want to improve our company together, not watch you work yourself to the bone improving it yourself."

"Okay, Mokuba. If you're serious about this, we'll discuss it further tomorrow."

"Thanks, Seto. You should probably go call Alissa now. I mean, she's probably not going to answer, but she'll be even angrier if you don't try to undo what you did."

"You're right. I'll call her. She can't ignore me forever."

As Seto exited the game room and headed towards his bedroom where he had discarded his briefcase and phone, he began to wonder when his life got so complicated.

A pounding headache ripped Alissa from unconsciousness. When she opened her heavy eyelids, all she saw was pitch black. She was surprised to find that the surface she was lying on was soft and even more surprised to find that neither her arms nor legs were bound. Her head spun as she struggled to stand. She rested a palm on her forehead to calm her dizziness and let out a small groan. The last thing she remembered was getting attacked on her way to her mom's apartment. I can't catch a break can I? She carefully began to walk through the dark room with her arms out in front of her to aid in her search for a wall. She was relieved when her palm finally came into contact with a wall. She trailed her hand along the wall in search of a light switch. After a couple tense minutes, she began to fear that there was no light switch and that she'd be forced to wait in the dark until her kidnapper made an appearance. Finally, her fingertips found a switch and she flipped it on. She squinted against the sudden light before scanning the room. It was a relatively small room, with gray walls and no windows. A bed sat in one corner of the room and a bookshelf filled with books in another. There were two doors. One that led to a small bathroom and another that presumably led to whatever was outside the room. Once she had studied the room, she quickly went to the door. She wasn't surprised to find it locked. She jerked back in fear when she heard footsteps nearing the locked door. She stumbled backwards towards the bed when a key started to grate in the lock. She quickly glanced around the room to see if she could use anything to defend herself and escape, but there was nothing in the room besides the bed and bookshelf. Resigning to the fact that all she had for defense were books, she quickly dove for the bookshelf and grabbed the heaviest book she laid her eyes on. When the door opened to reveal a tall and well-built man, she realized that the book would do very little to protect her from her kidnapper. The man was tall, probably taller than Seto even. He had neatly styled dark hair and a pair of calculating, hazel eyes.

"You're awake," the man replied with a lopsided smirk. "If I had expected you to be awake I would've brought your dinner, Alissa."

Alissa took a fearful step backwards when he entered the room.

"Who are you?"

His deep chuckle made her frown.

"I can't tell you that."

"Look, I have people who will notice that I'm gone and will come looking for me. I promise you that is something you want to avoid so it would be in your best interest to let me go."

"Hm, barking orders and straight to the point I see. It's no wonder Mr. Kaiba likes you."

The mention of Seto had Alissa even more alert than she already was.

"What do you want?"

"Your boyfriend destroyed my family. It's about time he paid for it."

"You're the one who is going to pay for kidnapping me."

"We'll see. For now, you might as well get used to this room, because you aren't leaving anytime soon."

With that, her kidnapper stepped out of the room, switched off the light, and locked the door behind him, plunging her into darkness once again.

Two days. Seto had been trying to contact Alissa for two days, but each time he called or texted her, they were left unanswered. He was really starting to get worried. Had he messed up that badly? He sighed before rubbing out a painful crick in his neck. Everything that was going on with Alissa was making it extremely difficult for him to concentrate on his work. He considered stopping by her mom's apartment, but he wasn't even sure if that was where she was, and he had too much pride to ask Yugi and his friends where she was. The sound of his cellphone ringing pulled him violently from his thoughts. He was pleased to see Alissa's name pop up on the caller ID. He knew he had to get straight to the point.

"Alissa, I never meant to make you feel like I was neglecting you-."

"Hello, Mr. Kaiba."

Seto stiffened when a deep voice spoke through the phone and not Alissa.

"Who are you and why do you have Alissa's phone?"

"Straight to business just as I expected, Mr. Kaiba."

"This isn't a game, answer me."

"Oh my, barking orders already? You know, Alissa did the same thing when she first woke up here. Both of you like to give orders when you're in no position to do so."

"Don't patronize me!"

"There's no reason to yell, Mr. Kaiba. Alissa is fine."

"Let me speak to her."

"I can't allow that. The purpose of this call wasn't for you two to catch up. The purpose of this call is to inform you of my demands."

"I'm not agreeing to any of your demands until I know Alissa is alright."

"Fine, Mr. Kaiba. I'll humor you."

There was a brief shuffling before Alissa spoke.

"Seto."

"Alissa, are you alright? Has he hurt you?"

"No, I'm fine. I-Seto, I want to go home."

The fear in her voice made him worry. The two had been through so much together that not much scared her anymore. The fact that she was as scared as she was, was extremely concerning.

"Alissa, listen to me. I will come and get you. I am not going to let anything happen to you, understand? I just need you to hold on a little longer until I figure out what this snake wants."

"That's enough," the kidnapper snapped before taking control of the phone once more. "Now that you know I wasn't lying about your little girlfriend's condition we can discuss what I want."

"Very well. What do you want?"

"I want one hundred million dollars as well as fifty one percent of KaibaCorp shares delivered to me within the next five days. I will request a video call with you tomorrow when I will tell you further information of my demands and where I want my demands to be met. You will not trace this call and you will not involve the police. If my demands are not met, Alissa dies."

So we can probably all agree that I'm an awful person for leaving the chapter here…on a positive note, half of the next chapter is already written, so the next update should be up sometime this weekend, probably Monday. Anyway, yeah, this chapter was interesting to write, although it is probably a little boring to read. At first, I was thinking that one hundred million was rather steep of a demand, but I feel like Alissa is a high profile person simply because she has such a strong association with Seto. I mean, they've been dating for four years so the world knows about the intensity of their relationship by now. That's my reasoning anyway. Anyhoo, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter despite the slow pace of it. Let me know what ya'll thought and I'll talk to ya'll soon!
