Hey A/all. This is Chapter Twenty One of The Black Heir: First year. You're getting this chapter because it's Christmas and a Reviewer asked if I would do a Christmas bundle, so you're getting this one today and look out for one tomorrow as well. After tomorrow it'll go back to hopefully weekly but it may be less frequent. I've now got over 50 chapters written so there's plenty more to come, I will update more regularly and a little more frequently but there may still be things that come up and delay an update. I will however not abandon this story, it will be finished and will be posted but it may take a while.

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. As sad as that fact is it is a fact none-the-less.

Summary: How can a chance encounter with his Godfather's daughter change Harry's life? Warning will contain spanking but it won't be the focus. Pairings HarryXGinny, RonXLuna, NevilleXOC. Some Hermione bashing.

I'd like to say a special thank you to Jasper's Mom for her Betaing work with this chapter. Without her help this wouldn't flow nearly as well as it does. Sadly though she can no longer provide her Beta-ing services so the position is once more up for grabs, if anyone is interested please let me know. I am in dire need of one and it will help updates come more regularly.

Ginny and Evie ran through the halls of Hogwarts and burst into the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. Both girls were too preoccupied to think about knocking or checking that the classroom was empty. Evie ran up to her Uncle's office and hammered her small fist on the door.

"Uncle Moony! Uncle Moony!" Evie yelled.

Ginny cancelled the map and slipped it back into Evie's pocket joining Evie in hammering on the door. She didn't know what had affected her best friend so badly, but whatever it was it was obviously frightening her and so Ginny knew help was needed.

"Moony! We need to talk to you!" Ginny yelled.

The door opened and both girls panted heavily.

"UncleMoonysomethingreallyreallyreallyreallyweirdisgoingonwithProfessorsSnapeandIdon'tunderstandit," Evie said quickly.

Remus looked down, alarmed at the sight of his goddaughter. Her eyes were wide with panic and fear. He knelt down and put both hands on her shoulders trying to get her to look him in the eye. She was too panicked to focus and was still speaking far too fast to be understood. Her magic was also going haywire and if he didn't calm her down she'd damage something or hurt herself, it was going so crazy even he could feel it.

"Evelyn. Look at me. Eyes on me. Focus now. That's it, calm down, you're ok. Now breathe," Remus said. He spoke in short simple commands as his eyes locked on hers. "No. Breathe Evelyn, in and out. Come on now," Remus said when she tried to speak.

Once Remus could no longer feel her magic and the pictures on the walls weren't shaking he picked up the skinny, small eleven-year-old and walked into his office. "Come on in Ginny," Remus said. He sat on the little couch in his office and held Evie to his chest. "Now Evie, tell me why you came storming in here as if you had Death himself at your heels," Remus asked gently.

Evie took a deep calming breath and nodded. "Alright. Ginny and I were a little worried about potions, Ginny can't remember many of her classes and Harry, Ron, Neville and even Hermione go on and on about how… how evil Professor Snape is. They all comment on the fact he's biased and even you and Daddy said he'd probably be cruel to me for what Daddy did to him in school," Evie said.

Remus nodded. He ran his hands through Evie's hair trying to calm her, she was getting worked up again.

"But he wasn't like that at all. He asked us questions and gave us points for answering correctly. He even gave me extra points for my knowledge of bezoars. You remember, I didn't know what one was and I asked you and you said to look it up in the Potter Library?" Evie said still talking much faster than normal.

Remus nodded. "Yes I remember. Evie, that's normal teacher behaviour," Remus said. He was speaking deliberately slowly to calm Evie. He was also very confused about where this was going.

"I know. But it gets weirder. He asked us about the potentially volatile ingredients in the potion. I got them all and he asked me to explain why they were the volatile ones, so I did and I earned Gryffindor more house points. Then we did the potion and Richard melted his cauldron so Professor Snape yelled at him for not listening. He asked to see me after class, so when I was done I went to see him and he complemented me on my potions skills and then he gave me the book that I've been looking for, the one Aunt Lily references all the time in her potions notes," Evie said.

Remus still wasn't sure what had his goddaughter looking like she'd seen the end of the world.

"When he passed me the book, our hands touched and his magic… well I could feel it and see it before, it felt off and looked patchy, but I put it down to the fumes in the room. When we touched though I saw it in full. The colours were so… I don't know how to describe it, but it was like they were wrong, like a puzzle that had pieces shoved in to the wrong places and pieces sticking out that just shouldn't be there. It was almost too much to make sense of, so much collision and clashing colours. That's not what people's magic should look like. It's one colour with different shades that swirl in to the main body perfectly," Evie said.

"Ginny is red, warm, vibrant, bright, rich, hot, fiery, and embracing red, she has different mixes of red, some calming yellows that mellow her a little, some gentle pinks that soften her. You are yellow, warm, gentle, caring, comforting, calming, soft, intelligent, and good yellow, you have different mixes of yellows, some mischievous oranges in you which give you some spunk, some honest and pure white goodness that strengthens you. Harry is green, beautiful, sharp, leading, bright, rich, clear, protecting, and awe inspiring green, he has some calming yellows which again mellow him a little, some solid blues which empower him. Everyone has colours that match. You don't have colours that clash. Professor Snape does," Evie said trying to explain something she really didn't understand.

"I said that Aunt Lily referenced the book and mentioned Harry by name and his wrong colours flared up a violent red and deepest black. They were attacking his mind. He changed, everything about him turned twisted. It was evil, as evil as the rat was. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't been looking so intently at his magic and the magic that isn't his," Evie finished

Ginny listened and tried to work out what Evie meant.

Remus wasn't sure what to think. He had no experience with being able to see and feel magic, except for when Evie got highly distressed and her magic went a little haywire.

Ginny hadn't see the flip, but she'd heard from her brother how much of a git to Harry Professor Snape was. "Moony. I have a theory… could you put a cheering charm on me?" Ginny asked.

Remus frowned and looked up at the time. "I suppose we have time. Ok," Remus cast the cheering charm.

Evie was still locking into people's magic and she noticed the bright cheery pink in Ginny's magic. "Hey! It's like… it's like it was on Professor Snape. Except a little different, but it's still not a right colour, too cheery and girlish. You have more of a mischievous, spunky, orange sort of happiness," Evie said examining the colour. Evie stared at the colour looking at the way it didn't fit right and was wrong. She blinked as she compared the colour she could see to what happened with Professor Snape "I… I think someone has put spells on Professor Snape to… to change how he behaves… like-like the cheering charm cheers you up and makes you happier, the patches of wrong magic on Professor Snape look similar but still different… is it possible Uncle Moony? Could someone have put spells on Professor Snape to change him?" Evie asked looking up at her godfather.

"It is possible Evie, you can do many things – good and bad – with magic as you know. At lunch I'll speak to Aunt Minnie, I'll need you and Harry to come with me and will need to see if there is a change. It's probably best if we don't involve Albus however. I don't like the sound of what Sirius told me last night about him having plans for you. I think we need to keep you and your brother away from him until we get a clearer picture of these so called plans," Remus said reluctantly. He would have liked to involve Albus, he was the Headmaster and Professor Snape was a member of his staff; but he wouldn't risk his goddaughter and Harry like that.

Evie was relieved that someone else was taking care of the problem, the wrong magic on Professor Snape had quite frankly scared her. She relaxed and snuggled into her godfather's chest. "We found the marauders den… and our animagus forms," Evie said.

Ginny nodded. "Yeah. Neither of us know what we actually are though, we haven't seen the animals before," Ginny said.

"Tell me. I won't tell you, you'll have to find out for yourself, but I can point you in the right direction," Remus said smiling.

Evie rolled her eyes. "Why can't you just tell us?" Evie asked pouting.

"Because then you would never learn. Now come on describe what you turned into," Remus said.

"Ginny was some kind of red, orange and yellow peacock with bright glowing feathers, but she looked like she could fly much better than a peacock and I could feel the power of fire within her," Evie said.

Remus nodded. "Hmmm, well I think it's pretty clear where you need to look Ginny. One hint though, that kind of creature has not been sighted in many, many years. You might want to look in a few ancient or extinct creatures' books to find out the name of the creature before you look into it in great detail. If Madame Pince asks why you are looking for those books you can tell her it's an extra credit project for me," Remus said.

He looked down at his goddaughter on his lap. "And you are?" Remus asked.

"She's beautiful. A large creamy white fox-like thing with six tails and eyes like fire. I could feel fire in her as well, but also other things. Her fur is beautiful, shimmering and looks to be so soft. I've never seen anything like it before. She looks quick as well," Ginny said.

Remus hid his look of surprise. Kitsune went extinct a long time ago; they were hunted for their fur and magic. "You'll want to look in extinct and ancient creatures' books to find the name of what you are. I know for a fact there are more than just a few books written about the creature you are and they are definitely extinct. Now since both of you have such rare, ancient and extinct creatures I would like you both to write an essay about your creatures, find out everything you can about them because it's not common knowledge and it'll help you. I want detailed information on your power, history and why the animal went extinct. Anything else will get you a higher grade. It will count as extra credit as well," Remus said.

He kissed the top of Evie's head and set her on her feet. "Now go choose a desk, the lesson will begin in five minutes and you don't want to be late. I don't want to have to take points from or give detention to my goddaughter and her brother's betrothed, but I will if I have to," Remus said.

He sent Evie off with a swat on the bottom and watched as the two girls scurried out.

Evie and Ginny hurried into the classroom, not all that surprised they were still the first in. After all the rest of the school didn't have a map that pointed them in the right direction.

Evie and Ginny chose a desk fairly close to the front of the classroom and got their books out as well as parchment, quills and ink.

"We need to make more of those journals as soon as possible," Evie said to Ginny.

Ginny nodded and brought out her timetable. "Ok so today… we have two frees this afternoon. We can spend time researching what we are and trying to replicate the journals, problem is we don't have any journals to practice on."

Evie grinned. "Not a problem. How many do you think we'll want in the end? One for our first year were we can put down just normal thoughts and an overview of everything we do. One for all our pranks; that should last us through all our years at Hogwarts. One for each of our lessons so we can put down things in detail; again that should last all through Hogwarts. One for our animagus transformation stories that we can pass down to our kids. Finally we'll need blank ones to pass on to the next generation of pranksters or our kids. Anything else you can think off?" Evie asked.

"That's nine journals. I think that'll be plenty," Ginny said.

"Actually we already have a journal each so we only need eight," Evie said.

Ginny nodded. "Yeah, I forgot that," Ginny said.

Evie nodded. "Dobby," Evie called.

The excitable little house elf who was endlessly loyal to Harry popped next to Evie. "Yes Master Harry Potter Sir's Evie?" Dobby asked. "You is calling Dobby?" The house elf said.

Evie glanced around and noticed more of the class had trickled in but not many. "I would like you to go to Diagon Alley and get twenty cheap normal journals and sixteen of the nicest leather bound ones you can find. Take the money from the Black Family vault and leave half the journals in my trunk and half in Ginny's. Can you have that done by three?" Evie asked.

Dobby nodded his head excitedly. "Oh yes Master Harry Potter Sir's Evie. Dobby can be getting that done right away. It is such an honour to work for Master Harry Potter Sir's noble house. Master Harry Potter Sir is such a kind and nice Master," The elf said disappearing with a pop.

"You see why I didn't want you saying his name in the great hall?" Evie asked.

Ginny nodded and paled a little. "Is he always like that?"

Evie shook her head. "No. When Harry's around he's much, much, much worse."
