Trouble Maker

A/N: Okay, everyone, here is what is going on: I have several chapters ready for loading, but unedited (including the one you are about to read- so please be lenient on your expectations as far as grammar/spelling goes). That is the good news. The bad news is, while I have this story's ending in my head, it is being quite the sadistic little bitch about letting me get there! So, we have a couple options. I have two other stories that are brimming in my mind with a few chapters prepared. One is called "My Angel" which is my current love-affair at the moment, and the other is "The Lookout" which is the sequel for "Keep Me". Keep in mind though, "The Lookout" only has two or three chapters ready!

So, we can either plow through what I have of "Trouble Maker", or we can spin our wheels for a bit on some side stories. Let me know!

Chapter Twenty-One: Day Waking and Stories of Old

Previously on Trouble Maker: Sookie has finished estrus and rejoined the world. There has just been confirmation that Sookie and Eric's bloodline are all being called to fulfill a prophecy (much to Sookie's annoyance)! Also, our Bonded couple just had their first experience together in the Fangtasia playroom. Deeper recap can be read at the beginning of the last chapter because I was a douche, and made you wait forever last time, too! (Sorry,everyone!)-Andi

Sookie awoke slightly disoriented. The last thing she remembered was talking to Eric on the drive home from Fangtasia and then... She must have fallen asleep. It was strange, she had not remembered being tired.

Deciding that after the fun in the basement, and without the aid of Fairy pheromones, she had just exhausted herself without realizing it.

Climbing out of bed, the telepath went to the bathroom to clean up after her eventful night. Eric had removed her clothes before taking her to bed, and she was quick to hop into the shower. Heaven... Sookie exalted in the shower, letting the double digit sprayers work their magic on her aching body. She felt like she had been in a car accident with how stiff her muscles were and the soreness in her eyes. She must have done a number on herself if Eric's blood had not kept the damage at bay.

The girl's stomach growled inconsolably as she shaved, and she made haste to finish up and find something to eat. Leaving the bedroom and setting the locks, Sookie went to the kitchen to find something for an early dinner. As she looked in the refrigerator, nothing looked appetizing, but her stomach would not take no for an answer, so she grabbed the carton of eggs, cheese, green peppers, and butter to make an omelet. As it cooked in the skillet, Sookie just stared at it, becoming less and less enthusiastic about her meal. She was not sure what it was she wanted, but this was certainly not it. Her stomach gave another warning.

Fine. She sighed as it finished cooking and threw it onto a plate. While she forced herself to shovel the meal into her mouth, Sookie started to feel nauseous. Steeling up her resolve, she finished her plate and dropped it in the sink. Going back to the fridge, she looked desperately inside for something to calm her tummy.

True Blood.

Sookie bulked as she realized that her eyes kept training on the bottle. Why the hell would I want that? But her arm was already reaching for it. Her hand already was unscrewing the cap. Her mouth was already opening to accept the bottle passing her lips. As she drained the contents into her mouth, her stomach soothed and her craving ended. When it was empty, Sookie stared at the bottle in shock. She had just drank synthetic blood... And she liked it.

Dropping the bottle suddenly as if it had burned her, Sookie backed away carefully as it shattered at her feet. Confusion coursed through her as she tried to fathom what could possibly be happening to her.

Going back to the bathroom, Sookie ran the faucet and splashed cool water on her face. When she looked up to stare in the mirror, her teeth were pointed into fangs-

Sookie jolted awake suddenly as her dream ended. Eric lay beside her in their bed, the darkness of the room only permeated by the light of the clock on the nightstand. Her heart was beating frantically and she let out a choked sob.

"What is wrong, Sookie?" Eric was suddenly up and holding her, "What happened?"

"Just a bad... Just a weird dream." She shook her head.

"What was it about?" He asked gently.

"I... I was a vampire, but I didn't know it right away. I was hungry and made some food, but it made me feel sick. When I went back to the fridge to find something to help my stomach, I saw a bottle of True Blood and chugged it before I knew what I was doing... I guess I was scared or something. I went to the bathroom to splash water on my face and when I looked in the mirror, I had fangs. That's when I woke up." She quickly told him her dream while the details were still fresh and could not disintegrate the way memories of dreams often did.

Pulling Sookie against his body, Eric laid them both down and hugged her to him, "Are you all right?" He asked, soothing her hair.

"Yeah... I mean, I was bound to start having dreams about it, right? It's gonna happen no matter what. I think my brain's just trying to make the leap." She babbled.

"Yes, that is probably very normal." Eric agreed. "Did the dream scare or upset you?" He asked, both emotions were swimming into the Bond, but he wanted to know what aspect of the dream had caused them to arise.

Sookie shrugged, "I dunno... I mean, I was both of those, but I think it was because in the dream, I didn't know I was a vampire until the very end. It was mostly fear and distress from confusion than from actually being a vampire."

"I can understand that." Eric nodded, "The first few nights I rose were very confusing and distressing. The smell of human food was disgusting then, but part of me still thought of it as food. It took about a month for me to stop associating it with sustenance. After that, the confliction abated, and it was easier to adjust." Sookie nodded at his explanation. "I believe your mind is already attempting to make the switchover. The other possibility is that with our Bond and the fact that you take my blood regularly now, you might subconsciously be drawn to the need for consuming blood."

Sookie shook her head, "No... I dunno... It's weird, but even now that I'm awake and you're awake... Wait, isn't the sun pulling you back? Shouldn't you go back to rest?"

Eric was thoughtful for a moment, "I can feel that the sun is still very high in the sky, but I do not feel forced back to rest by it. I promise that if it becomes a strain, I will tell you and go back to rest, but, please, continue your line of thought."

Sookie paused for a brief moment before she went back to what she was going to say, "Okay, but... Even though we're both awake... I kinda still want a True Blood... Is that weird?"

Eric frowned, "I do not know that it is weird. You could, perhaps, be anemic or vitamin deficient from nourishing me. Maybe your body is telling you it needs something, but does not know how to do so?"

"What should I do?" She asked.

"You could call Alcide and go to the pharmacy for some vitamin B complex and iron supplements." He suggested.

"I dunno... I don't wanna leave you..." She admitted.

Eric smiled, "I want you to be free to come and go as you please during the day, Sookie. You only have a short time left to do so, and I would hate for you to waste it here while I cannot keep you company."

"But you're awake now..." She bit her lip, giving him an innocent puppy look.

Eric laughed, "Yes, I am." He agreed, squeezing her to his body.

"Isn't it weird that you're not getting sun sickness?" She asked.

"It is peculiar. It cannot be any later than two in the afternoon. I should have only been able to remain aware for a few moments. When you caused me to rise in Dallas, I was already getting the bleeds after ten minutes. It has been nearly double that, and I feel perfectly fine."

Sookie frowned at his insistence, "Eric... Dr. Ludwig mentioned that your habits might change. She said not to explore them- to wait for her to come again."

"We are not exploring." Eric laughed, "I genuinely do not feel like I need to rest. It is like insomnia. I cannot help the absence of a compulsion."

"Maybe we should have sex? I usually get tired after a few orgasms." Sookie suggested, making Eric chuckle. She blushed at her admittance, "I could probably fall asleep after one if someone didn't keep me going." She threw an elbow back to catch him in the gut.

"Are you offering?" Eric asked.

"I'm always ready for you." She whispered back.

Eric lifted her leg up and pulled it back over his hip without another word. His cock pressing into her from behind as he slowly slid in. "Yes," he agreed, breathing in her ear, "you are ready for me."

Sookie moaned as he slid oh-so-gently back and forth against her, one hand stroking her hair from her face and neck, the other holding one of her breasts firmly as he pumped in and out behind her.

"Mmmm, oh!" She held his hand that held her breast, rolling her hips in movement with his. "Eric..." She sighed as he began kissing her neck "Love you."

"I love you, too." Eric murmured against her throat as they moved together.

It did not take long for them to climax, and Eric remained buried in her sex afterwards, enjoying the aftershocks of her orgasm, and the intimacy of being inside of her.

"I could not tell you how long it has been since I enjoyed some afternoon delight." He said in that post-sex purr of his.

Sookie giggled, "Mmmm, that was my first dish of it. I hope it's not my last!" Wriggling back a bit, the girl hugged the arm of the hand that was still holding her breast. "So, are you sleepy?"

"It is not a sleepiness." Eric tried to explain, "I am either conscious, or dead. If I am fighting the sun, I will begin bleeding or appear weakened. I am none of those things right now."

"Weird." Sookie frowned.

"Yes. However, since we are both awake, and I cannot leave my resting chamber until dark- there is something I wanted to discuss with you." Eric began.

"Okay. Shoot." She pulled back gently, letting out a soft sound of disappointment as Eric slipped from between her legs so that she could turn in his arms and face him.

"I want to build us a home." Eric told her.

Her brow scrunched with confusion, "But you have a house..."

"Yes, I have a house. But it should be our house." He explained, "I know you do not wander much through this house. You have not taken any measures in adjusting it to your tastes or comfort. It feels intrusive to you to do either of those things. That is why I want us to get a house together. We will take things from here and your farmhouse, you can decorate it to your contentment."

"That sounds romantic, and rather domesticated." Sookie giggled.

"I want you to be happy." Eric told her, "And I want you to be safe. I want our home to be one of refuge and a place that we both feel comfortable. You are not comfortable here, and I would never be comfortable in your farmhouse. Even with extensive remodeling, it would never be safe for us both there. Too many know of its location, including bigoted humans."

Sookie nodded in understanding, "This sounds like a good compromise, but, Eric, you seem to like it here-"

"I like being wherever you are." Eric told her, "I have not had a location I have felt was a home. I have had shelters, bunkers, chambers, but never a home until I met you. Any resemblance this location has to a home is what you have made it into. My home is not walls and utilities- it is you."

Feeling a few tears building, Sookie wiped them against his chest, "That has to be the sweetest thing I've ever heard." She breathed into his chest.

Eric smiled down at her. "I hope that you come to see me as your home as well, My Sookie."

By the burst of love he felt in their Bond, Eric knew that she already had.

Nightfall was approaching quickly, and Eric had remained conscious from the time Sookie had raised him with her dream, until now. He seemed to be more energetic as the sun went down, but Sookie attributed it to being cooped up in the bedroom all day. Not that Eric had not made the best of the situation, taking her several times more before sunset.

"Pharmacy and then Fangtasia?" Sookie asked after they both hopped in the shower and dressed.

"That sounds agreeable." Eric nodded. "But, we should add dinner in there somewhere." He pointed out.

"Oh yeah." She giggled, grabbing a small clutch purse to carry her ID, touch up make-up, and a small amount of cash, though she knew Eric never let her pay for anything when he was with her. "Ludwig told me to eat plenty."

"That she did." Eric agreed, taking her hand to lead her to the door.

Their first stop of the evening was a restaurant, followed by the pharmacy. As they walked through the store, Sookie felt a shiver run down her spine and quickly scanned the area. Two men were trying to follow them discretely through the aisles, but Sookie found them, and Eric was more than well aware of their presence as well.

"Sookie?" He asked.

"They're curious. They've never seen a vampire with a human in such a setting." Sookie muttered back to him. Eric smirked and placed his hand on Sookie's lower back, establishing that she belonged to him. The telepath reacted in kind, wrapping her arm around his waist as well. The pair leaned against one another as they continued down the aisle, finding the vitamin and supplements. Grabbing a bottle of B12 and a bottle of iron, Sookie let her Bonded lead her back towards the front of the store. As they passed another aisle, Sookie saw rows of feminine hygiene products and Eric felt her surprise and worry.

"What is wrong?" Eric asked, pausing in front of the aisle.

"Eric, I haven't gotten my period this month." She said with realization.

Eric stared at her a moment when a woman in the pharmacy cleared her throat. They both turned and looked at her, "If you are donating your blood often, it can cause irregularities in your cycle. It's your body's way of conserving energy." She explained. Her name was Doreen, Sookie noticed the little name badge.

"Oh, thanks. I was worried for a second." Sookie sighed.

"You should be." Doreen called their attention back, "If your body is reacting like that, then you are not healthy. If you are unhealthy, then you should consider altering your lifestyle so that you can be healthy." Like finding a live boyfriend to fuck and not a dead one that drinks your blood and makes you anemic.

"I see..." Sookie frowned, "Eric, maybe we should grab a case of True Blood and you can give my arteries a break now and again?" She suggested.

"That is probably a good idea, Lover. I should not have been so selfish, and, instead, suggested this sooner." He leaned over and kissed her forehead gently. "In fact, if memory serves, supplements and the like are not healthy either. We should find a natural source to replenish your losses. Pharmacist," he turned to the woman who stood, shocked, behind the counter, "are there foods she could eat that are high in B12 and iron?"

Doreen floundered for a moment, thrown for a loop at how caring the pair sounded for one another. She did not know vampires could be so considerate of their... meals... But that's what they think of humans as- meals! But... He looks so earnest about taking care of her. Is that possible? "Spinach and raisins are high in iron. Red meats, liver and kidney are good sources of B12." She finally replied.

"Thank you very much." Sookie smiled brightly at the woman as she turned around and put the supplements back. Internally, she was cringing at the thought of eating livers and kidneys. Those were not her most favorite choices, but she could definitely eat steak until her arteries clogged!

"You should stop by a butcher tomorrow and get some good cuts of red meat." Eric suggested. "We can grab some raisins from here." Sookie nodded and they went to another aisle to find that. "May I ask what that little scene was all about?" He asked when they were away from the pharmacist.

"She was thinking rather biased thoughts, but since she tried to be of help, I thought that showing her what a positive relationship we have despite being, allegedly, human and vampire, would be good for her. It kinda worked. She definitely didn't seem so sure about her previous beliefs." Sookie explained. "You played it up nicely, by the way."

Eric smirked, "It was not an act. I am genuinely concerned for your health, and your suggestion was a reasonable and thought out one. Though I require very little blood from you, I have been overindulging as of late." He admitted.

"At least you won't get fat from it." Sookie giggled.

"True," Eric agreed with a chuckle, "but I am far too old to lose control like that. Especially when it can endanger your health."

Smiling up at her lover, Sookie gave him a squeeze, "I think, I like that you lose some of that control around me. Even if it means dealing with a few repercussions." She reached for a bag of raisins when Eric's cellphone rang.

"Northman." He answered.

"Put those raisins back. She's not anemic and I don't want her adding iron to her diet right now!" Ludwig's voice snapped over the phone. "What did I say about changing your habits without consulting me?"

Eric grabbed the raisins from Sookie and put them back on the shelf, making her give him a curious look. "Her menstrual cycle has not progressed as it should. The pharmacist suggested-"

"Is the pharmacist me? I do not think so!" Ludwig snapped again, "What other cause have you for altering her diet?"

"She had a dream about drinking True Blood. I thought that maybe her body needed-"

"If she's craving True Blood, then give it to her. It will be good for her." Ludwig interrupted.

"Are you certain?"

"Who is it you think you're talking to, Vampire?" Ludwig asked.

"You are right... Another thing... Sookie accidentally raised me from my rest today, and I did not succumb to it for the remainder of the day." Eric told her.

"You did not suffer sun sickness?"

"Not at all. Nor did I feel weakened." He added.

"Interesting... I was not expecting that just yet. See if you can resist the call of the sun in the morning and if you can, resist it until you do begin the bleeds. I want to know how it will affect you tomorrow evening." Ludwig told him.

"Yes, Doctor." Eric agreed. "Anything else?"

"Yes, if Sookie can stomach True Blood, try and have her drink at least a bottle of it a day. If she will take more, have her do so."

"May I ask why?"

"I will explain when I come to check up on her the Friday from next." Ludwig assured.

"Yes, Doctor." And Ludwig hung up after that. "Sookie," he turned to his beloved, "the doctor wants you to try drinking True Blood..."

"And she's not gonna say why 'cause of prophecies and blah blah blah." He was surprised how little she reacted to being told that she would now need to drink synthetic blood. "How did she know we were about to buy supplements?"

Eric shrugged, "She seems to know things as she needs to about her patients." Sookie grunted, ignoring the "Big Brother" vibe, and they went to the coolers to grab a case of True Blood. Since that was all they now needed, Eric paid for it, and they left the pharmacy without another glance at the shelves. "Would you like to have one of these now?" He asked, holding the six pack out at his lover.

Sookie frowned as she looked at it, "Can I drink it cold? Shouldn't it be warm?" She asked.

He smirked, "Vampires drink it warm to make it feel more natural, though it still tastes awful. It can be drank cold, though, and would probably be easier on you."

Shrugging, Sookie took a bottle from the case before Eric set it on the floor by her feet. Opening it, the telepath began drinking. Eric could feel a strange mixture of pleasure and confusion as she drank. She was enjoying it, but did not understand why.

When the bottle was empty, Sookie looked at it for a moment before letting out a distressed sound and small sniffle. Eric glanced at her in time to see a hurried hand brush away a fretful tear. Her emotions were all over the place, but mostly Confusion took the helm.

"I know Ludwig has to do what she thinks has to be done," Sookie said slowly, carefully, "but does she really understand just how difficult this is on me?"

Reaching over, Eric took Sookie's hand and squeezed it firmly, "Probably, but if your emotions and mentality are not a consequence to whatever it is she is hiding right now, she will not let us know a thing until she is able."

"I might go crazy from her rather than my spark." Sookie grumbled, reaching down to her feet to grab another blood and twist it open.

"You like those?" Eric asked curiously.

Sookie pulled the bottle from her mouth and looked at it, "Yeah, I guess I do." Eric found this entertaining. He wanted to get her a bottle of Genuine, an underground bottled blood that was labeled synthetic, but was actually filtered and purified, human blood. Now that he knew she had a taste for blood, he wondered if she could notice the difference between human and synthetic. In the back of his head, he wondered if this was how humans felt when they tried to get their friends to stop drinking cheap beer and go for the more expensive, but more flavorful options.

The telepath had finished off the second bottle by the time Eric pulled into his usual spot at Fangtasia. "I feel like I practically live here." Sookie sighed as Eric helped her out of the car.

Eric chuckled, "But you seem so at ease here." He teased.

"Every time we come here, I either get some kinda crazy news, or something equally insane happens." Sookie whined, "It's never a relaxed evening here."

"I thought that you were tired of tedium, My Sookie?" He took her hand and brought it to his lips to kiss gently.

Sookie made an annoyed sound, "A little boredom never killed anyone." She grumbled as he laughed and lead her into the employee entrance.

Godric was sitting in Eric's office, at his desk, leaning back and waiting for them. "Told you." Sookie hissed at Godric's expression. The older vampire raised his eyebrows as Eric laughed.

"What has your Sookie predicted?" Godric asked.

"She said that we can never come here without some sort of drama. Between fights, drainers, and life changing news, Sookie was hoping for a little apathy. I suppose seeing you as soon as we arrived made her believe that we would be starting our evening with some excitement?" Eric explained.

"Nothing particularly exciting, I am happy to report." Godric smirked, "I just wished to inform you that your Pam has already acquired a residence for me, and it is being remodeled for my needs beginning tomorrow... I did have a question for you, Eric." The older vampire frowned now, "Did you rise at some point this afternoon and stay that way up until now?"

"Yes." Eric nodded, "Did our Bond raise you as well?" He asked with slight bewilderment.

"It did. I have been conscious since this afternoon. I also did not feel any Sun Sickness."

"Yes, that was the case for me as well. I spoke to Ludwig, she wants me to try and resist the call of the sun as long as I can before succumbing to the the bleeds." Eric told him.

"I will do so as well, then." Godric nodded, "How curious..."

"Do you think she knew this would happen to us? Is it part of the prophecy?" Eric asked.

Godric was silent.

"You know which prophecy we're in, don't you?" Sookie asked breathlessly.

"It is becoming more and more likely that I have the correct one in mind, but in accordance to Ludwig's wishes, I will keep my suspicions to myself." Godric murmured.

Sookie let out a frustrated growl, "This is ridiculous! Why shouldn't we..." She shook her head and took a deep breath. Eric could feel her fighting her frustration and ire, "Can you at least tell me one thing?" Godric gave her a solid stare, neither refusing nor accepting her request- waiting for the question, "Does it involve anyone dying?"

Godric smiled gently, "The exact opposite. It is a very peaceful prophecy."

"Then why can't we know?" Sookie whined.

"There are some that do not wish for peace, Sookie." Godric told her as kindly as he could, "Peace is not profitable, and there are some that do not flourish from peace." He looked down at his hands, "And there are some who thought it utterly unattainable and scorn the idea of it. Like I once used to."

Sookie could not believe that such a modest and kind vampire could reject the idea of peace. "How can that even be possible?" She asked in a whisper.

Eric leaned away from the doorframe, "Lover, I think you and my Maker should have a talk. I believe there are things about himself he wishes to share with you, and it is quite a long story. If you will excuse me." He nodded at Godric and stepped out of the office.

"Sit down, Sookie." Godric gestured to the sofa and came from the desk to sit near her, "You know that many Makers are unkind to their progeny, and I have shared that my own Maker was both sadistic and impulsive. When I was still a child, by today's standards, I was brought to a city within the Roman Empire as a slave. My Maker purchased me. He delighted in torturing me. I was from Gaul, and did not speak the language of my owner. He took great pleasure in my confusion and using it against me. He drank of my blood regularly, and since I could not speak the language of the natives, he knew that I could tell no one of his true nature. Many of my tattoos were given to me by him, my body was his canvas. He used my body for his pleasure, both his sadistic and sexual pleasure. I was subjected to this for five years as a human, and three hundred more years as a vampire." Sookie's hands remained clasped in front of her face as silent tears streamed down her face, "You are kind to shed tears for my past, but it was thousands of years ago. It is long buried." He assured.

"But-"

"Shhh, Young Sookie." Godric soothed, "I am not telling this to you for your sympathy. I am telling you so that you might understand why I am who I am, and Eric is who he is."

"Okay." She said softly.

Godric smiled, "After my Maker met his true death, I roamed the earth slaying those that I thought deserved death. I had not yet embraced the words of that Ancient One that had let me continue to exist. I wore the mantel of Death for centuries before witnessing a battle that left me in awe. Eric was a brave warrior. He fought with a ferocity that would leave even a vampire like myself inspired..." Godric paused now as if he were remembering that very battle, and was still moved by it, "I coveted him in that moment. When he was fatally wounded, I thought about what a pity it was to lose such potential. I prayed for the first time in my existence that he would make it to the following dusk, when I would have enough time to discover if he was worthy of becoming my progeny. Obviously, he did make it to the following nightfall. I killed his two remaining comrades and approached him. Even on the brink of death, he was unafraid. I could smell him, he was angered that his men had been slain, but did not even fear me despite how easily I dispatched them." Sookie felt a shiver run down her spine. Her Eric had been fierce even as a human, "As I came closer, he asked if I were Death. I told him that I was. I was amused by his easy acceptance of me... I asked if he could be the companion of death in exchange for life."

Sookie did not realize she had been holding her breath. Eric had told her this tail shortly after her Gran had died, but something about the way Godric told it had her absolutely captivated. Despite knowing the story, and its obvious outcome since she had Eric, Sookie could not get enough of Godric's voice and the emotions behind it.

"Eric and I explored the world together. We partook in battles and tipped the scales of wars. He was and still is my greatest achievement. I told him of my past and he told me of his short one. I kept Eric by my side for several centuries before finally allowing him to go discover his own world. We still regrouped on occasion up until now, but the one thing I regret about when I brought Eric over, was that I was not prepared to explain to him about love. It was not until Eric was nearly 700 and I nearly lost him that realized my love for him." Godric said in a whisper.

"How did you nearly lose him?" Sookie whimpered. Eric had never told her a story about any near true death experiences!

Godric's eyebrows raised, "He did not tell you?" He then shook his head as though the inquiry were a stupid one, "I am not surprised. A necromancer became infatuated with Eric. Since we are technically dead, we are more than a little susceptible to their magics. When Eric refused her, she used her powers to subdue him and turn him into her sexual object. She warned him that if he left her circle or if any other than herself entered her circle, they would be hexed. It was a particularly nasty hex at that, one that caused a vampire's body to putrefy and decay while remaining animated. Not even our regenerating powers could fight it." Sookie hugged herself tightly, "Eventually, Eric, through with being the plaything of a human, broke from the circle and the effects became immediate. Away from the necromancer's circle, he finally let his emotions free and sent for me. When I found him, most of his flesh had fallen away, and many of his bones were visible. I had been frantic my entire journey to him. I had never felt my Child so afraid, so uncertain. When he told me what had happened, I sought out the necromancer. Before she could understand who and what I was, I had glamoured her and brought her to my Child. I forced her to undo her hex, and once she had. I broke her neck. It took twenty years before Eric was strong enough to go out on his own again. Since then, I have always worried about him in the back of my mind. Of course, he has become all the more cautious since then, and taken to acquiring the help of witches to safe guard his resting areas as well as studying deeply into the occult so that he could be more aware of different magical alliances. He wanted to be able to detect necromancers. He found that they often smelled mildly of decay and has since avoided human witches with such a scent."

Sookie leaned against the arm of the sofa and stared at Godric for a moment, "You'll protect Eric, right? I mean, I know that Ludwig kinda told you to keep an eye on me, but..."

Godric smiled sweetly at her, "I can only protect you as fiercely as I protect my progeny, Sookie. He is dearer to me than my entire existence, as you are dearer to him than his. By protecting you, I protect him, and by keeping him safe, I keep you safe. With everything that I am, nothing shall harm either of you until my final death."
