Final Blade Act 2 – 'Gin's Hands'

"You think you can just up and leave Monk?! You think you can sour my spiders while I watch from afar?! Well you've mistaken yourself cur! Go on, run all you like – run like the coward you are! Just know you can't leave without paying to me your debts…"

"Tell me then," Miroku stopped in his steps, turning to meet the red eyes of the twisted man he once knew as a brother, "what do I owe you?" Mist picked up in the ashen night, as dark clouds hid from the moon, the evil man and the monk. Crickets had hid their chirping, as crows beckoned to the distant rumble of thunder.

The man wanted something the Monk could not give. So, with a heavy heart, and a clenched fist, he took it upon himself to leave the growing band of thieves.

The screech of a blade being pulled from its scabbard silenced every noise.

The wind stood still.

And the evil man laughed, "Surrender your daughter, Miroku, only then will I let you live – go on, run. Run you fool of a man! Because I will kill you soon enough!" Miroku sighed deeply, blinking back the feeling of a sinking heart, and started on his way. Turning away from his band of thieves, feet dragging through the mist as the laughter of a mad man followed him, echoing through his troubled ears, "Just know this is my city! My country! My capital! The Dokusupaidaa will find you, and I will take that girl from you – I'll chase you to the ends of the Earth itself, i'll drag you down the rivers of hell, and watch as you burn! So run you fool! Run!"

Swallowing down fear, he ran.

I continued on in the darkness, shifting through tall grass and dodging under uprooted trees, all while trying to keep little Inuyasha's whimpers of discomfort down. He was uncomfortable, and starting to squirm. I had no idea where to go, but the sound of shivering grass following close behind made me to run faster than before - it was then that I felt a hand swipe at me in the darkness, "Sesshomaru?!" I slowed my running, stopping quickly to take a breath. If it was Sesshomaru then-

"Sesshomaru?" It was a voice I knew well. And I took off to run once more. Out of a sudden, I felt trapped – All around me, the voice of the spider beckoned in the darkness, "Could that be the true name of the Ogre in White? The Killing Perfection – such a fitting name for such a crazed man," Inuyasha's cries came to a halt as his golden eyes stitched open in an unknown fear, as were my own, "Do you not agree?" Footsteps latched into the ground, and the spiders voice was closer…closer…closer now, such that it felt as if his breathing was right over my shoulder – Clang!

"Kagome get out of here!" That voice- Oh, I remember that night so vividly, so much it scares me to recall it…The two barred their swords, fighting in the heavily wooded darkness, almost blind to one another, following only the scarlet whistle of blades cutting through the air.

"Tou-Touga! Where are you?!" On that night, the trees themselves seemed to stretch so high – to the very stars they touched, blocking any sliver of light from the then waning moon…

Shunk – A blade hit the tree beside me, a broken black blade, coated in an even darker red liquid. Thump. Someone hit the ground.

Someone had lost this fight on the Night of the Hidden Moon.

I looked to the broken black blade stuck to the tree next to me, and decided to lay Inuyasha down, under a grassy bush…right under the tip of that blade, somewhere the child would be safe, hidden, – because it was then I felt the breathing, and those red, red eyes captured me. Rough hands covered my mouth, holding fast until my struggle went limp.

On the Night of the Hidden Moon, I was dragged into the darkness.
