Notes and Disclaimers: Hmmm, a new chapter the next day, kind of odd although don't expect me to update every day, once in a while is the usual routine but I can spare more time here and there, just felt like writing… I don't know! Dx

Anyways enjoy the chapter.

Act IX – A New Start

'I never choose this path, although I am a killer. A murderer in most eyes, one that preys on the weak and seeks out the ones that challenge me. This path was chosen for me, although what I did would make certain of it; I am forever tainted in the worse ways imaginable and I think I have finally accepted that.'

"The target is in a three story building, a house to be exact, you're mission or should I say you're task is to eliminate him and secure the data he processes. Make it look like an accident although if things come to worse, don't hesitate to use reckless force." Ozpin sat there holding an image of where the task would take place; it's a nice house, definitely for the rich and powerful.

Weiss sat there and listened to her task, it was a mission and the person who assigned it to her was no one less than Professor Ozpin, one of the most powerful men in this world. "Is there a reason to why he must perish?" Weiss asked.

"That is something you don't need to know although if it makes you feel better, this is for a good cause, this man's hands stretch deep into the political side of remnant and thus he must be eliminated, he's nothing but a corrupt politician. Although you're mission is simple, make it look like an accident if you can." Ozpin explained, it was clear there was something bigger to this than Weiss imagine, who would of though and Weiss who was the heiress of a company is now being hired as an assassin to take out a person who she hadn't even known or even seen before. Oh well a job is a job.

"If that's the case, than a job is a job, I guess I'll be in this one alone with no support?" Weiss asked, looking at her mission data.

"Well I suppose that is the case, after all you are an exception to one of my students. Complete this task and I will shed you with protection from the law." This was the promise Ozpin offered Weiss and she knew that she would need it. Although Ozpin sounded like a corrupt politician himself but Weiss didn't care as long as she got the protection she needed.

"We're here." The driver said as he pulled up to the side of the road.

"From here on out, you're in this alone and don't worry he has a thing for little girls. Use that to your advantage." Ozpin said as he gestured Weiss to leave, although really. 'Little girl?' Weiss thought as she got out of the luxurious car.

'I should scout around, there must be something I can use… let's see. Tall house and it looks as if someone is home although it feels empty inside. Perhaps I could pose as a troubled girl who needs help.' Walking up to the door, Weiss rang the doorbell and she heard a voice from inside, sounded like an old man, probably the target.

The door opened slightly and a man who looked to be in his late 50s looked at Weiss as if inspecting her all over. "Can I help you?" he asked.

"Can I uh… use the bathroom?" Weiss said kind of sounding desperate at the same time. Although in reality, she just needed to get into the house and take care of what she came here to do.

The man opened the door up and sighed, it looked like her excuse worked. "Well, I guess why not. Please, take your shoes off." He said as he let Weiss in.

'Who would have thought that would have worked…' Weiss thought as she took off her shoes and made her way inside. Everything looked clean and as if it hadn't been touched in a long time. This is when realised something, the older man smelled of alcohol, looking around her as she closely followed her target she realised there was a high flight of stairs.

The elderly man walked up the stairs and pointed at the end of the hall, "At the end, the door to the left. Also is there anything I can get you like maybe some water or tea?" he asked.

"No thank you…" Weiss said as she walked over towards the bathroom. She needed to plan her approach; she still had a pistol she packed from before and maybe half a magazine of ammunition. "He doesn't seem like a bad guy, I wonder why Ozpin would want him dead." Weiss asked herself as she looked at herself in the mirror.

'Ugh, I'm getting these innocent thoughts, no I should be professional about what I do… and that is killing. But why do I feel as if I'm doing the wrong thing? I didn't feel wrong about killing drug dealers or even my fellow students but why now?' Weiss thought as she plotted her next move.

Weiss straightened up her composure and continued with her mission, this was something that she shouldn't think about and the sooner she got it over with the better. Flushing the toilet in the room she exited the small room.

Then out of nowhere Weiss had a corded wire around her neck and before she knew it, she was being strangled. Thinking back to her chat with Ozpin she remembered him saying something. "He has a thing for little girls; use that to your advantage." So this is what Ozpin meant.

Weiss started to feel slightly light headed as she was further asphyxiated by her attacker. "Come back to me Weiss… please…" Ruby's voice echoed in her head. Using all her strength Weiss flipped the elderly man over her shoulder and got out of the killer grip.

Still deprived of air, Weiss held her bruised throat in pain as she got her wind back. "What are you doing?" Weiss said, knowing clearly his motives.

"Now, now there's no need to get all feisty." He said as he got back to his feet. "Now be a good girl and stay still!" he yelled as he went to grab Weiss.

'My mission is to kill him, that's right he smelled of alcohol so… I have to lure him over to the stairs…' Weiss thought as she backed away slowly towards the stairs. "No, no… stay away!" Weiss shrieked although it was to keep her act, in reality she would have killed this old fool by now although she had a mission to do.

Slowly they closed on near the flight of stairs. "Stay still you little shit!" the old man growled as he went to tackle Weiss. Unfortunately for him, he was in the perfect spot. Dodging to the side, Weiss sucker punched the old paedophile and pushed him down the stairs, hoping it would kill him before he hit the lower floor.

All Weiss heard was the scream of an old man as he tumbled down the stairs and by the time he was on the lower floor, he looked dead. He wasn't moving and he didn't seem to be breathing either. Hopping down the stairs, Weiss kneeled over and checked his pulse; his body was still warm although his heart wasn't responding.

Something shined under his clothing, it looked to be a golden pendant and it's probably what Ozpin wanted too. Ripping it off by the chains, Weiss looked at the pendant, it looked normal enough nothing special at all. Then she shook it and she heard something inside, probably what the professor's after.

Weiss left the body there, undisturbed and rushed back upstairs' she wanted to see if there were anything useful in the old pervert's room. Opening the door to the room, she found it looked quite messy, documents scattered all across the table and what not.

Looking closer, the documents are related to the Vale election and there were also documents on the Schnee Dust Company, most of it was undisclosed and top secret, he even had the families' military contracts. "So, this is why Ozpin wanted him silenced. Guess I should secure these documents as well." Looking around the room, Weiss saw an empty medium sized brief case and so she quickly shoved all documents in there without a care what goes where.

Quickly exiting the large house, Weiss saw her pick up and with it, Ozpin. Weiss walked over towards the professor and gave him both the brief case and pendant. "What's the brief case?" Ozpin asked.

Weiss wasn't too sure what the contents were, although mostly classified governmental documents, also her family documents. "I'm not too sure myself, although one quick look at it, I would say mostly top secret documents and plans." Weiss said as she got in the passenger seat of the car.

"Hm, I see. Then good call bringing these too, I'm assuming the mission was a success?" Ozpin asked.

Weiss shrugged, "I guess he fell down the stairs and snapped his neck while doing so, not my problem. Just give me a better warning that he was a paedophile next time." Weiss said as the car drove away from the scene.

In the past…

"Professor Ozpin! You're letting her go just like that?" Glynda asked, clearly not understanding Ozpin's motives.

Ozpin sighed and went back to watching the scenery, "As you know, I believe Weiss would be a valuable ally, with her we can meddle with things that we previously couldn't such as the man who controls half of the businesses in the northern sector of Vale, she could play an essential role in making the kingdom a better place." Ozpin explained.

"What do you mean? You're not suggesting using her as a personal assassin are you?"

"That's exactly what I see her as. Plus, if she were to be caught, she's a serial killer on the run so there won't be much to miss. That is if she's caught." Professor Ozpin knew very well that using Weiss could easily backfire on him, so he had leverage, her freedom.

Glynda sighed and went along with her superior officer. This was a bad idea although the idea of making the world a better place with a few loss lives wouldn't be too bad. Plus she knew very well that sacrificing assets would be important in achieving her goals.

"Very well sir, I shall trust you're better judgement."

Present Time…

"Excellent you've gathered and done all the tasks I've tasked you with, now I will do my part and make sure you're a free woman." Although Ozpin was a man to his word, he now had leverage over Weiss any time he needed it.

Weiss smiled and checked to see if something were in her pocket. "Thank you sir, is there anything else I need to do?" Weiss asked.

"There's plenty of things that needed to be done, things a normal huntress or hunter can't do, things outside the law. I'll contact you if I need to, although I'd recommend you keep a low profile in class. Oh and before I forget to mention, you're still a student of Beacon." He said. It sounded as if this was the first mission in Weiss' career as a hired murderer.

"So I'm still a student of beacon, will I return to my original team?" Weiss asked, she was honestly curious on who she would be paired up with.

"You will be reassigned to team RWBY… after a personal issue has been resolved between you and Miss Belladonna." That was true, Weiss needed to fix their relationship somehow although this means she can return to her lost friends… if they still refer to her as friends.

Weiss smiled as she leaned back in her seat, getting comfortable, "Understood." Weiss acknowledge. She knew this was going to be a long process on getting Blake to look at her as a normal person again, although Weiss isn't a normal person. She was an exception; looks like things are going to be quite busy when she returns.

'Fix what I caused huh… would be a simple task if it wasn't next to impossible… I mean this is Blake we're talking about.' Weiss thought as she got into a comfortable position.
