CHAPTER 21

Dr. Cameron arranged for Logan to be taken to his room and both Camille and Kendall followed him. Kendall quickly informed his mom about what happened and told her that he and Camille were staying with Logan overnight at the hospital to keep a close eye on him. Although she only got the brief version of the story, Mrs. Knight was shocked to say the least.

"There you go, sweetie," the nurse who brought Logan up to his room said to him.

Logan thanked her and was relieved to be left alone with his girlfriend and his best friend, although he did feel a little bit uncomfortable. They both grabbed a chair and sat by their distressed friend's bed.

"Are you okay, Loges?" Kendall softly asked his friend. He really was very protective when it came to his best friend.

"I guess so," Logan answered him.

"That was so brave of you what you did in there with Dr. Cameron," Kendall started. "We're so proud of you. I can't even begin to think what you must have been going through all this time."

"Well … it was close to hell on Earth," Logan confessed.

"You're so strong that you are able to talk about this like you do. I so understand that it must be terribly hard. So, wow! I don't think I would ever be this strong," Kendall told his best friend.

"I don't feel strong at all," Logan softly said looking down at his hands that were laying in his lap.

"Believe me, baby. You are! You so are!" Camille told him.

"I … I'm … I'm just so … scared," Logan shyly admitted.

"Scared of what?" Camille asked him.

"Scared that I'll never be able to fully trust people again or love them. I'm scared that I'll never be the same again and that you wouldn't want to be friends with me anymore. But most of all, I'm scared that I might never ever be able to show you that I truly love you."

Tears slowly made their way down his pale cheeks and Camille couldn't control her own waterworks either.

"Oh, Logie," she sobbed. "Don't you worry! You might not trust people right now, but I guess that's normal. And we will never ever stop being friends with you, because we love you to death. Besides, you always show me how much you love me. You just need to give it some time so you can heal again, baby."

"You have been seriously traumatized," Kendall went on. "Someone forced you to do something against your will. You got hurt. Not just physical, but mostly psychological. It might take some time to regain your trust, but you will eventually. You will need therapy to get through this and we'll all be here for you whenever you need us. That's what friends are for, bud."

" You will eventually get there, baby," Camille said swallowing her tears. "But as Kendall just explained, it will take you some time to go on with your life. Baby steps will get you back on track as long as you believe in yourself."

Logan sniffled and managed a weak smile for the first time since he had been admitted to the hospital.

"I'm so lucky to have you guys," he said. "I love you. Both of you!"

"So do we, buddy. So do we!" Kendall said .

He opened his arms to hug Logan and Logan hesitatingly moved closer towards his friend. Kendall carefully hugged his friend. Logan didn't flinch but let his best friend hold on to him and comfort him for a little while.

"I love you too, baby. So much! I have never loved anyone like I love you," Camille admitted.

She very softly moved her face closer to Logan's and tenderly pressed her lips on his. He didn't pull back, but closed his eyes. Camille's loving kisses were no way near the kisses Professor Turner forced on him.

"Thanks," Logan answered as they pulled apart.

He had to stifle a yawn.

"Tired?" Kendall asked.

Logan merely nodded his head.

"Think you'll be able to sleep?" Camille tenderly asked her boyfriend while softly caressing his cheek.

"I guess so," he answered. "Will you …"

"We'll stay with you tonight, don't worry. The both of us are going nowhere," Camille told him.

Logan smiled and closed his eyes. Kendall and Camille both watched their distressed friend softly drifting off to sleep.

"Poor Loges," Kendall said keeping a close eye on his friend and roommate. "I just don't get how someone can hurt him like this."

"Me neither," Camille agreed.

"How are you holding up?" Kendall softly asked his best friend's long-term girlfriend.

"I'm doing okay I guess," she answered him. "I'm just super worried about Logan's well-being. I don't know what I'll do if I ever see that evil witch, though."

"That makes two of us," Kendall admitted. "Nobody lays a hand on our Logie and gets away with that."

A nurse walked in the room shortly after.

"Hi," she said. "Did he fall asleep?" She whispered to Camille and Kendall.

"Yes, the poor thing was exhausted," Camille whispered back.

"Rest will do him a world of good," the nurse softly said. "I brought you guys a bed and a chair so you can also try to get some sleep. I'll also bring you some blankets to get you guys comfortable. Should he wake up all distressed, just call us okay."

She disappeared and returned minutes later with some warm blankets. Kendall told Camille she could use the bed and he would get all comfortable in the chair for the night. It didn't take long before the two drifted off to sleep as well.

They both woke up brutally in the middle of the night. Logan was screaming and wildly thrashing around in his bed.

"No. No, please. Get away from me! Leave me alone!" He yelled on top of his lungs. "I .. I can't take this anymore. It hurts! It hurts so much! Please stop! Please, someone, make it stop!"

Camille and Kendall were by his side in a minute.

"Logie? Hey, Logie? Buddy? Wake up," Kendall said softly shaking the distressed boy. "It's alright. I'm here with you, now. She can't hurt you anymore, buddy. I won't let her. Okay? Just open your eyes. You're safe. I promise you that. You're safe now."

Logan's eyes fluttered open and he immediately noticed that Kendall and Camille were by his side to comfort him. Beads of sweat were present on his forehead and his breathing had picked up. Camille had already pushed the button to get the nurses' attention.

"You're alright, baby," she softly said taking Logan's hand in hers. She brought his hand to her lips and pressed a soft kiss on the back of his hand. "You're safe now. We're here for you!"

"You were having a bad nightmare, weren't you?" Kendall asked.

"It … It was .. so real," Logan said in an unsteady voice. Tears were streaming down his cheeks once again.

"Come here, baby. Let me hold you," Camille gently said as she held her arms open.

Logan hesitatingly moved his body closer and actually let his girlfriend hold him in her arms. She gently wrapped her arms around him and merely held him close. Logan leaned into her touch and snuggled even closer into her arms.

"I love you, Logan. I love you so very much," she tenderly whispered in his ear.

A nurse now came running into the room. She immediately noticed the distressed boy in Camille's arms.

"Nightmare," Kendall explained to her.

"It's okay, Logan," she softly said. "Dr. Cameron prescribed you something to help you calm down. I'll just have to give you a shot and you'll feel all better again."

"I .. I … h-hate … s-s-shots," Logan sobbed.

"I know you do, buddy," Kendall said softly patting Logan's shoulder. "But it'll help you to calm down and get some much needed rest. Okay? Camille will hold you and comfort you. Just close your eyes and don't think about it."

Logan firmly shut his eyes and snuggled even closer to Camille. She gently rocked him in her arms as the nurse prepared the shot. She did her utmost best to comfort him and keep him as calm as possible, when the nurse plunged the needle into his pale skin.

"God, it hurts. It hurts so much! Please stop!" Logan whined.

"Baby, it's okay," Camille said soothingly. "Just try to relax and it'll be over before you know it."

"There you go. All done now," the nurse gently said. "You'll start to feel better in a minute or so."

Camille still held Logan's body tight. Every nerve in his body was all tensed up, but it didn't take long before he started to relax more. The nurse explained that she would remain The drug was working and soon Logan's breath evened out. He had fallen asleep in Camille's arms. Kendall helped Camille to lay Logan back down in his bed and both of them tried to get some sleep as well.
