Chapter 20

Inside Dave's living-room, Kurt and Puck were sitting on the armchair together while Dave and Sebastian were sprawled out on the couch as they absentmindedly watched television.

"So, wait, what does the blonde chick have to do with the main guy again?" Puck asked.

"She's his sister," Kurt answered.

"No she isn't," Sebastian argued. "She's his girlfriend's sister and they're fooling around behind the sister's back."

"No they're not," Kurt replied.

"Are too," Sebastian retorted childishly.

"Wait, who's the other sister?" Puck asked.

"There is no other sister," Kurt stated.

"Yes there is," Sebastian insisted. "The brunette with the unconvincing Irish accent."

"That's the neighbour," Kurt said.

"Is not," Sebastian huffed at him.

"Is too," Kurt retaliated.

"Ok, I have no idea what's happening in this dumb show," Puck commented.

"I think it's just a bunch of pretty people who can't really act," Dave said. "Can we watch something else?"

"Your house, pick whatever you want," Puck told him.

"Or alternatively we could just make-out," Sebastian suggested to Dave in a whisper.

Reaching for the remote control, Dave threw it to Puck before shifting around to settle a little more comfortably on the sofa. Sebastian was spread half on top of him and Dave wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, shyly accepting his kisses at first before becoming more confident and at ease. The two were soon panting and gasping, Sebastian grinding his pelvis down against Dave to increase their excitement.

"Not making you uncomfortable are we, Princess?" Sebastian asked glancing at Kurt over his shoulder after eliciting a particularly erotic moan from Dave's throat.

"Just promise me you'll keep your clothes on," Kurt replied staring determinedly at the T.V, his cheeks pink.

"I'll try my best to be a good boy," Sebastian sniggered before returning his attention to Dave's delicious mouth.

"So, this boyfriend thing?" Puck asked Kurt. "Do we have to tell your old man?"

"He's my dad," Kurt pointed out. "I love him more than anything and my having a boyfriend is the kind of thing he should know. But… I should probably ease him into it and tell him by myself. If you happen to have upcoming plans to go out of town that would be a convenient time for me to tell him so that he can process the information and adjust and calm down without the immediate opportunity to threaten or injure you."

"Will he really go all Papa Bear over you dating me?" Puck asked.

"Honestly, I don't know," Kurt admitted. "I've never had a boyfriend before so I have no idea how he'll react."

"Is he gonna hate me?" Puck asked.

"Only if you give him a reason to," Kurt shrugged.

"Like taking your virginity?" Sebastian couldn't help but say.

"My dad isn't stupid, he knows his little boy is going to have sex one day," Kurt said. "Of course he has been hoping that I'd wait till I'm thirty."

"Thirty?" Puck asked in a pained voice.

"Relax," Kurt told him. "I'm not planning to wait that long. But I'm not planning to drop my pants and spread my legs in the immediate future either," he added.

"Hey, babe, I can wait," Puck replied. "No pressure. I'll wait as long as you need. Just as long as it's not years because then my penis would fall off and I would die."

"Don't worry, your penis isn't going to fall off," Kurt assured him.

"But Burt might cut it off," Dave laughed.

"Fuck, he's gonna kill me isn't he?" Puck groaned.

"It'll be fine," Kurt said though he didn't sound terribly convinced. "Carole will help calm him down. Not that he'll necessarily need to be calmed down of course. Maybe he'll just shrug and say 'that's nice'."

"Yeah, Puckerman's dead," Sebastian stated.

"Nice knowing you, bro," Dave added.

"Whatever," Puck grumbled as he cuddled Kurt closer to him, the pair watching the T.V while Sebastian and Dave resumed dry-humping and making-out.

During a commercial break, Dave and Sebastian were completely immersed in making-out with one another that they didn't hear the sound of the front door opening or acknowledge the sound of Paul Karofsky's footsteps as he entered the living-room to find his only son in a provocative situation with another boy.

Feeling incredibly awkward, Kurt averted his eyes and moved off of Puck's lap to sit on the arm of the chair, not knowing how to react to Dave's dad walking in. As for Puck, he openly sniggered clearly finding the situation hilarious.

For his part, Paul looked a little uncomfortable and cleared his throat to gain his son's attention.

Noticing his father, Dave pulled away from Sebastian as though he'd been burnt and stood to his feet looking apologetic and shame-faced, as though he expected to be told off and punished.

"I'm sorry," Dave said quietly casting his eyes to the floor and shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Can you go boil the kettle for me, David?" Paul asked and Dave turned to the kitchen without a word. "Hello Kurt," Paul greeted with a smile.

"Hi, Mr Karofsky," Kurt replied. "Um… should we go?"

"You boys are always welcome here," Paul told him. "All of you," he said looking specifically to Sebastian. "Excuse me," he moved away to join Dave in the kitchen. "Sit down, Dave," he said gently noticing how his son's hands were shaking somewhat. "Did you boys have fun today?" he asked casually as he poured Dave a glass of cold water.

"Dad, I'm so sorry," Dave babbled out. "I didn't know you were coming back so soon and… I didn't want you to see… I'm sorry… I shouldn't have been doing… I'm sorry that I'm… wrong."

"You're not wrong, Dave," Paul said sternly as he handed him a glass of water and squeezed his shoulder. "You're my son, and I love you exactly how you are and you really need to learn to love yourself too." He turned away to make himself a cup of strong coffee. "I don't mind you having a boyfriend, Dave," he continued. "It is perfectly normal for boys your age to be dating. You don't have to hide your sexuality from me. I'm not your mother, ok, I'm not going anywhere."

Dave nodded, his fingers coiled around his glass of water, still unable to bring himself to look his dad in the eye.

"So, Sebastian, is he your boyfriend?" Paul asked.

"Yeah," Dave answered still not making eye-contact.

"How long have you been together?" Paul wanted to know.

"Not long," Dave shrugged.

"I'm going to be honest with you, Dave," Paul told his son. "I'm a little hurt and disappointed that you didn't tell me about him."

"Sorry," Dave mumbled.

"Are you ashamed to be with him?" Paul asked. "Or are you still ashamed of yourself for being gay?"

"My-myself," Dave admitted. "I know that I'm… gay. Sometimes I feel perfectly ok about it. If I'm at Scandals, or just hanging out with the three of them at one of their houses, I feel like its ok to be myself. But I'm not totally comfortable with being me all the time. Not yet. When I'm with people that are like me, I don't feel different. I don't feel like I'm a freak. But most of the time, at school, or just walking around Lima, I know that I'm different and I feel like anybody who looks at me can tell I'm different too. And not everybody is supportive of different."

"No, they're not," Paul agreed. "But I am supportive of different, and I'm proud of different. I'm proud of you." Dave finally looked up to meet his father's eye. "I love you, son, and catching you kissing a boy on our couch isn't going to change that."

"Can we just forget that you walked in on that?" Dave pleaded.

"Consider it forgotten," Paul said.

"Have… have you heard from her at all?" Dave asked. "From mum?"

"No," Paul answered quietly and Dave looked disheartened and defeated.

"Oh," Dave replied. "I just… I hoped maybe she'd… I don't know…"

"Change her mind?" Paul asked.

"Or something," Dave shrugged. "She could at least call," Dave said with a touch of resentment. "Even if it's just to let us know that she's ok."

"I really don't think she's coming back, Dave," Paul told him honestly.

"No," Dave sighed. "I guess not."

"Go back and join your friends," Paul prompted. "Be a kid and have fun."

"Are you gonna tell him tonight?" Puck asked as he walked with Kurt up the garden path to the Hummel-Hudson household.

"Yes," Kurt answered feeling as nervous as Puck currently looked. "You know what school's like. Everybody will find out within five minutes and then Rachel will sing a song about it and post the performance on line. I'd prefer for my dad to hear about us from me rather than through Finn or somebody else."

"Want me to stay while you tell him?" Puck asked.

"Are you brave enough for that?" Kurt replied teasingly as they loitered around the doorstep.

"I'm badass enough," Puck smirked. "Can I kiss you now?"

"I… um… ok," Kurt responded after quickly scanning the streets to check nobody was looking.

Stepping closer to Puck, Kurt tried to relax and think of all the kissing techniques he'd learned off of Brittany. He mentally prepared himself for Puck to taste like burgers and dip, but the mohawked Jew tasted of minty freshness from the gum he'd been chewing earlier. Puck's lips were soft and gentle, the kiss chaste. It was nice, sweet, romantic, all the things one Kurt Hummel should appreciate. Yet he found himself yearning for more. He wanted passion, desire, tongue, perhaps a slight nip of teeth.

Puck was clearly making the effort to play the part of a gentleman, and while a gentleman was everything Kurt had ever imagined he'd want in a boyfriend, he was quickly realising that the bad boy factor played a part in his attraction to Noah Puckerman.

As Puck made to pull away from the chaste little kiss, Kurt fisted his hands into Puck's shirt and flicked out his tongue, demanding more. Puck accepted the request as he wrapped his arms around Kurt's slender frame.

Their tongues tangled together and as Puck ghosted his hand along Kurt's side, the sensation providing a ticklish kind of turn-on, Kurt found himself completely understanding just why Quinn hadn't been able to stay faithful to Finn. Although Quinn could be mean and selfish, she had always been viewed as a good little Christian girl. Kurt also had his moments of bitchiness, but overall, he was a well behaved son and pupil. It was like Grease or Dirty Dancing, where the innocent virginal girl was seduced by the bad boy. But Quinn had already had her turn with Puck. Now it was Kurt's time to star opposite the bad boy.

He dared to nip at Puck's lip, and the muscular boy practically growled and Kurt just knew Sebastian would be proud of him.

They pulled apart for breath. Kurt's lips were bruised, his skin flushed, hair messed up and his pants were even tighter than usual as they strained over his erection. In that moment, if propositioned, Kurt Hummel would pick pure sex over sweet romance.

"Text me later?" Puck asked and Kurt nodded wordlessly, thinking it best not to say anything as he might just ask Puck to take him right then and there.

Kurt's eyes dropped to Puck's ass as his boyfriend walked away. Kurt then turned and let himself inside the house, his lips still tingling from the kiss and his mind reeling from his sudden sexual awakening.

Slowly, he walked towards the living-room. It was time to tell his dad that he was now in a relationship with Noah Puckerman.

"Dad," Kurt called out, his voice sounding huskier than normal.

"Yeah, buddy?" Burt replied not taking his eyes off the television.

"Um…" Kurt needed more time to calm down. He couldn't tell his dad about Puck well he was still feeling so horny and turned-on. "I'm getting a drink," he improvised, his voice still not quite back to normal. "Want anything?"

"Chuck us a beer," he said and Kurt hurried to the kitchen.

He opened the fridge and closed his eyes as the coolness passed over him. It felt refreshing and it helped him calm down. He grabbed a beer for his dad and a glass of orange juice for himself before returning to the living-room. Joining his dad on the sofa, Kurt stared at the screen, not really paying any attention as he waited for the commercial break.

"Dad," Kurt said when the first commercial started.

"Yeah?" Burt asked taking a swig from his beer bottle.

"Um… well… I'm gay," Kurt commented.

"Really, you sure about that?" Burt teased reaching a hand out to ruffle his son's hair.

"I'm not the only gay kid in Lima," Kurt continued. "I have gay friends now."

"Good, that's good," Burt said. "Now you have people to talk to who can relate to your situation. You can support each other, help each other."

"I have a boyfriend," Kurt blurted out and Burt choked on his mouthful of beer. Kurt patted him on the back awkwardly waiting for his dad to stop coughing and then say something.

"Boyfriend," Burt repeated setting his beer bottle down and taking off his cap to rub at his bald head. "Right, ok, boyfriend… ok, I can do this. I was hoping for a few more years before we had to have this conversation but… ok, here we go. Boyfriend… boyfriend… ok, which one is it? Dave or Sebastian? I'll be happy for you either way, Kurt; I think they're both good kids. They both have their troubles and it'll take me a little time to get used to the idea of you dating and if he hurts you I'll break his legs but you have my support. So, Dave or Sebastian, which one is it? And personally, I'm kinda rooting for Dave here. He's still a blushing virgin too right? That's good, that's great. But Sebastian has probably had more sex than I have and if he's your boyfriend that does make me a little nervous. But if it is Sebastian then that's ok too. But please, tell me it's Dave, at least give me that, Kurt."

"Um… sorry," Kurt mumbled awkwardly.

"Ok, ok, so it's Sebastian," Burt replied. "That's ok, Kurt, that's ok. Sebastian, he's… he's a good-looking kid. He's smart. He's…"

"Not my boyfriend," Kurt interjected.

"He's not?" Burt asked and Kurt shook his head. "Then who?" Burt looked confused and his eyes suddenly widened. "Did you convert Finn?" he asked in a whisper.

"What? No," Kurt spluttered. "Dad, that's gross."

"Ok, ok, sorry," Burt apologised. "Is it that blonde kid? Sam? He's a lovely kid, Kurt, I like him. You'll have to invite him to Friday night dinner."

"Sam isn't gay," Kurt told him.

"Oh, right, what is it then, what do you kids call it… bisexual… that's great, good for him," Burt said.

"I'm not dating Sam," Kurt replied and the look of confusion returned to Burt's face.

"It isn't Mr. Schue is it?" he asked suddenly looking angry and murderous.

"That's repulsive," Kurt answered with a shudder.

"So who is it?" Burt asked.

"Puck," Kurt replied and his dad just stared at him for a few seconds without blinking. "Noah Puckerman," Kurt clarified. "Mohawk, Jewish, plays guitar."

"Your boyfriend is Puck?" Burt asked just to check and Kurt nodded yes. "Ok… ok," Burt took a breath as he fitted his cap back onto his head. "Ok… Puck… boyfriend."

"I really like him," Kurt said.

"Yeah, yeah sure… he's um… he's…" Burt struggled for words. He reached for his beer and downed a large mouthful. "Puck, he's… every girl and gay boy's fantasy I guess. And every father's nightmare," he groaned. "It's really gonna happen isn't it?" Burt asked.

"What?" Kurt asked and it was his turn to wear an expression of confusion.

"My boy's gonna grow up," Burt answered with a sad sort of smile. "Boyfriend," he sighed. "We both know what that really means."

"We do?" Kurt questioned still confused.

"Sex," Burt stated and Kurt wished he hadn't asked. "It's gonna happen soon. Of course it is. You and Puck."

"Dad?" Kurt asked searching for some kind of approval.

"Friday night dinner," Burt said. "Make sure he's here."

Kurt nodded. Friday night dinner, that was the approval.
