A.N. so this is back to Dorene and I promise that as soon as I finish with the last Trial for Dorene that I truly want to write about then I will continue back to Mia but I think I will just skip to the last trial so that I can just say that I finished Book Two by the end of the next chapter or two.

Chapter 21

I pulled out my last and finally trial tonight before everyone else went back to their cells for another loud snoring filled night of sleep. I on the other hand tried to fall asleep but finally quit after three minutes of lying awake in my coffin. I slowly got up and then made my way down the countless halls. I walked with no real destination in mind.

After a few more minutes of pointless walking I finally found myself at the doors to the Halls of Sport, and to my surprise the sounds of someone working could be heard. I pushed open the door and saw right away that Arra was slashing away at one of the wooden dummies with a one handed sword.

"Arra what are you still doing up?" I asked as I approached the fierce female vampire.

Arra turned around quickly her blade stopping mid swing as it came within close contact with my face. "Dorene what are you doing up?" Arra asked as she lowered her blade and I let out the breath that I didn't know I was holding.

I eyed the dummy curiously and ran my eyes over the deep gnashes that were inflicted upon it recently and thought of how much damage could truly be done if Arra were up against a vampire let along a human.

"So have you decided who you would go against in your final trail tomorrow?" Arra asked pulling me out of my daze. I began thinking then shook my head, at this Arra smiled. "Well it seems that Kurda is kinda set on you fighting him."

I shook my head harder knowing full well what Kurda was trying to do. "I know full well that he is trying to help me but by facing him I will not fully be seen as a part of the clan." Arra nodded knowingly. "You learned the way of the vampires quickly." She smiled, one of the first ones I have ever seen cross her lips since I got here.

"Well yeah you kinda have to pick things up when you're in a life or death situation." I said with a slight forced smile playing across my lips. I looked to Arra and I knew that she could see that right now I was terrified at the thought of the many spikes located in the pit in the Hall of Death.

I averted my gaze and walked over to the wall full of the many weapons that the vampires could choose from when fighting in the Halls of Sport. I pulled down two blades that were small and Identical in every way other that the handles. The two blades were light and when I took a few practice swings I found that they were quite easy to handle as well so I walked back over to the wooden figures and began swinging at them only to be laughed at by Arra seconds later.

I looked over to her angrily and stopped swinging as I crossed my arms in annoyance. "What's so funny?" I asked as Arra calmed herself down.

The female vampire looked at me and smiled them explained. "Nothing other than that you had far too many openings when swinging those two swords." I looked down at the two blades still held in my hands and then looked back to the female vampire.

"Fine then, show me how you would do it then." Arra stared at me a slight smile on her lips and from what Gavner said to me earlier in the week that the amount of times that I can get Arra to smile is far to many to be normal for her.

Arra and I continued sparring and Arra showed me more moves than I can remember and we did all this into the next night or when whatever the time it was at that point before Arra and I even finished.

The time of the next trial finally came and Arra and I began making our way to the Hall where it would take place and to my surprise it was the same place as the Blooded Boar challenge. Arra found Gavner and joined him near the rest of the vampires who were seated around the ring.

I on the other hand stepped toward the prince who would over look this challenge; Paris Skyle. I stood before him and stared into his kind yet strong eyes waiting for him to speak. Suddenly the Hall got quiet and was then filled with his kind yet loud voice.

"Dorene have you decided on your opponent?" I nodded my head and out of the corner of my eyes I spotted Kurda walking forward expecting to hear his name come out of my mouth, but he along with everyone else in the room had no idea who I had in mind for the match.

Turning to the gathered vampires I spoke in a clear loud voice void of all fear that I knew was locked up down inside of me. "I have chosen for my match," I paused seeing Kurda stand tall now at the front of the group still expecting his name. When I finished a loud shocked gasp was spread throughout the hall the loudest of which came from the blond pacifist.

Then my mentor Gavner stepped forward and grabbed me by the shoulder dragging my away from Paris. Once we were away from him the boar faced vampire who snored like a bear whispered harshly into my ear.

"Do you know at all who you are going up against right now?" I smirked and nodded my head knowing full well who I chose to go up against. "Yes, now if you excuse me I would like to finish my trials today." I said with indifference than stalked off to stand back near the prince, along with my opponent who just now joined the prince at the front.

I turned to my opponent and smiled. "You ready?" I asked with a slight smirk. The vampire in return smiled and replied back. "Well I hope so after all the practice we had a few hours ago." I smiled and then made my way down into the pit that I went through my first trial in and turned back to my opponent as they were given a sword just as I was given one that was very similar in everything other than weight.

I smiled one last just for fun smile than finally said the last words that wouldn't be filled with grunting or taunts. "Are you ready for this Arra?"

A.N. so yeah cliff hanger of sorts for once, hope you don't mind but wanted to end this chapter so that I could get closer to finishing book 2 I truly can't wait to get to book 3 because than after that comes the really exciting stuff and I want to get to that as soon as possible cause my twin and I finally decided on a bigger role for Victoria who is in fact my twins Character in all of this so let's see if I cant get this updated faster from now on. But no promises okay.
