(AN: Hey guys, Sapphire Orchid here. Nothing much to say except for there's a poll up on my profile- it's for the Naruto movie 1. Should I or should I not do it? I've read a lot of Naruto fan fiction, but very few have had the movie in them, so I was wondering, should I do it or not? Anyways, that's all I have to say now so… Chapter Start.)
*** Konoha ninja academy Naruto POV ***
Everyone was sitting in a seat in one of the rooms and Ibiki was in front, explaining the rules, "Now you have one hour to complete the test, if you are caught cheating 5 times then you and your whole team are out, the time starts… now!"
"Ugh, let's see," Naruto thought as he looked down at the questions before noticing something, "Wait a minutes, these questions couldn't be answered by most genin. Hell, even the jonin would have hard time answering these." Naruto looked around the class room and spotted his teammates doing the same, "Hm, so they notice it too, this is all rigged, but the only question is, why?" As Naruto was looking around, Hinata whispered to him.
"Psst, Naruto," she whispered, gaining his attention, "If you want you can cheat off me."
"No, I got it, besides I don't want you to get in trouble because of me," the blonde whispered back, causing the girl to nod and get back to her test.
"Let's see, we have ten points, 9 of which correspond with these questions, the last one comes with the tenth question, which will be given at the end of the exam, what to do, what to do?... Meh, I'll just take Shikamaru's lead and take a nap," Naruto thought, flipping his paper over before lying his head down and falling asleep.
*** Unknown location Naruto POV ***
"Ugh, where am I?" Naruto said aloud as he woke up, only to find himself in what looked like a sewer, "What the hell, how did I get here?"
Once he was standing, the blonde started to walk around, "How do I get out of here?" as he was walking, he soon came to a corridor with a red light at the end, "What's that?" he said out loud. When he came to the end of the corridor he saw giant bars going from the ceiling to the floor creating a cell and behind those bars was, "Kyuubi!?" the demon opened his eyes and started at the blonde. He was about to speak when.
"Hey Kyuubi, are you the one that called me in here?" a voice said from behind Naruto.
When Naruto turned around to see who it was he immediately exclaimed, "Sapphire!"
*** Five minutes earlier Sapphire POV ***
"Hm, looks like me and Naruto had the same thoughts," Sapphire thought, when he saw Naruto go to sleep, and was about to do the same when he felt a small pull in his head, "What the hell?" he flipped his paper over and put his head down not even a second before he passed out.
*** In Sapphire's mindscape ***
"Ugh, looks like I'm back here… again," Sapphire said as he woke up in the same sewer from before, "Was it Kyuubi that brought me here?"
After getting up, he immediately started to search for the Kyuubi's chamber and after a few minutes, he saw the familiar red light. He walked towards it and once he entered the chamber he said, "Hey Kyuubi, are you the one that called me in here?"
"Sapphire!" said a familiar voice, making the boy turn to see Naruto standing there.
"What the hell!?" he instantly said, "How are you in my mindscape?"
"Wait your mindscape, what's going on here?" the blonde said.
"If you both would please shut up for a second, I might be able to explain," Kyuubi said, gaining the two genin's attention.
"Oh right, I forgot you were there for a second Kyuubi," Sapphire said sheepishly.
"Ugh, why did the sandaime put me in you?" the fox demon muttered, "Anyways, the reason you two are here is because blondie here holds part of my power, and you hold my soul. I could call that other red haired human here, but from the memories I have seen that she is downright annoying."
"Hm, you mean Mito, yeah she is extremely annoying Kyuubi," Sapphire casually said.
"Ok I think we're getting off track here," Naruto said, "How and why did you call us here?"
"Sheesh, fine I'll tell you brat," the fox demon said, "Now, as I said before because you have my power, I can communicate with you. Sapphire here has my soul and well, I'm inside of him so I think that that one is pretty obvious. Anyways, the reason I called you two here though is because I have seen that you, blondie, have saved the life of my host many times because you decided to become friends with him. If you hadn't, he probably would have died, and if he dies, I die."
"Is that the reason I'm here, for you to thank me?" Naruto said.
"That and I will allow you to use my power, boy," the Kyuubi said."
"What? What do you mean allow me to use your power?" the blonde asked, confused.
"What? Did you think that you could just access my power and be able to use it willy nilly? No, you must earn the right to use my power. Why do you think that after all that training that girl went through, she still can't control even one tail of my power. I must give you permission to use my strength, not the other way around," the beast said.
"Oh sorry, I didn't know Kyuubi," Naruto said.
"Hold up you two, why am I here?" Sapphire spoke up.
"Right I almost forgot about you," Kyuubi said, getting a glare from the blue haired genin, "Well brat, the reason I called you here was, well, I'm… sorry, ok. I'm sorry for what I said the last time we met, after the last time I did what you said and looked at your memories and I am appalled by what those humans have done to you, even though it is my fault for being sealed inside you."
"Oh, well I forgive you I guess," Sapphire said.
"What that's it, you can forgive me that quick?" the demon said, confused.
"Yeah, I've already forgiven everyone else, even though they haven't really asked for forgiveness. I'm a very forgiving person, it's what Leviathan-sensei taught me. Hate only leads to anger and despair, as long as they don't touch my family, I'm ok with being the village pariah. So, yeah Kyuubi, I forgive you. It wasn't your fault you were sealed inside me," Sapphire finished with a smile.
"These humans, they are just like you… tou-san," the Kyuubi thought as he pictured the Rikudou Sennin, "Thank you… kits."
"Aww did you hear that Naruto he called us kits, I think we finally got through to him, he's not a menacing demon, he's just a big ball of fluff," Sapphire said before laughing.
"Yeah you're right, he's so cute," the blonde said, laughing just as hard as his friend.
"Ugh, shut it you two or else!" the Kyuubi exclaimed, shutting the boys up immediately.
"Fine, fine, don't get your panties in a twist," Naruto said.
"Insolent humans," he muttered under his breath before continuing aloud, "Now, another reason I called you here is because I want permission to talk with you both without having to call you brats into Sapphire's mind all the time."
"Oh and how will you talk to us?" Naruto asked.
"Well, I'll basically be able to talk to you two telepathically, and you two can talk to each other this way also, but it does have a range limit, well for you two. I can talk to either of you whenever I want to."
"Hm, sounds interesting," Sapphire said.
"Yes, yes it does, so we get to talk to each other, why would you want to talk with us though?" Naruto said.
"Well, the main thing is that it's so boring being stuck in this cage with only myself to talk with."
Sapphire thought about it for a minute before saying, "I guess that you can, but you can't do anything else, no possessing or anything like that."
"I wasn't going to do anything like that without your permission anyways," the Kyuubi said casually.
Naruto looked at Sapphire before shrugging and saying, "Fine, I guess I can agree, but like Saff said no funny business."
"Don't worry kits, I won't try anything," Kyuubi said.
"So how do we do this?" Naruto said.
"Yeah, is it some kind of jutsu, or what?" Sapphire said.
"You two just go back, I'll handle this."
"Whelp see you in the land of the living Saff," the blonde said before he disappeared.
"Hm, well I guess that I'll see you later, Kyuubi," Sapphire said as he started to disappear from his mindscape.
"Those two will go far in this world, I can already tell."
*** Academy classroom Sapphire POV ***
"Ugh, my head is killing me," Sapphire thought.
"I know right," said someone else.
"What the hell! Naruto?"
"Don't forget about me, genius."
"Kyuubi, hm so I see that it works," Sapphire thought.
"Yes it did Sapphire," Kyuubi thought.
"Is there a way that we can turn it off if needed?" thought the blonde.
"Yes there is, but I'll just explain it later, I think that your exam proctor is about to speak," the demon said, and sure enough Ibiki stood up and said.
"All right pencil's down, the exam is now over!" the man exclaimed.
"Wow, we were in your mind longer than I thought Saff," Naruto thought.
"Yeah," was all Sapphire said.
"Hey Saff, I got a question for you," Naruto said, ignoring Ibiki, who was ranting about the tenth question.
"Ok, shoot."
Naruto didn't respond right away until, "If we were just in your mind, why is it a sewer?"
"I have no idea, ask Kyuubi," Sapphire responded.
"Tch, don't ask me kit, I know about as much as you did when it comes to your mind."
"So, I guess it is true then, your mind really is in the gutter Sapphire," Naruto mentally said with a laugh.
"Why don't you shut up!" Sapphire said aloud, causing the proctor to spin around and glare at the blue haired genin while Naruto and Kyuubi just laughed at the boy's expense.
"What did you say blue boy!?" Ibiki, who was going on and on and on about how if you failed the tenth question then you would fail and never be able to take the exam again, exclaimed, glaring at Sapphire.
"Oh shit, think sapphire think, oh got it," Sapphire thought before as he got an idea and said aloud, "I said why don't you just shut it, if we don't take this question then we don't deserve to be shinobi, so just give us the question already, scar face."
"Yeah," Naruto shouted, "Just give us the damn question already, if we don't take a few risks in life, then what's there to live for?"
"Just had to steal my thunder Naruto," Sapphire mentally said.
"What can I say, I love the attention," Naruto shot back.
"Will you two please just shut up, you're giving me a headache, ugh why did I do this again?" the Kyuubi muttered.
"Really, do you two think that you're ready for this, as I said before if you don't get this right then you will never be able to take the exams again," Ibiki said, smirking.
"So what!?" Naruto and Sapphire said at the same time.
"If I fail, then I'll just become the first genin hokage!" Naruto shouted.
"Yeah, and there's always field promotions!" Sapphire shot back.
"Fine, if anyone else wants to back out, now is your last chance," the man said. Nobody even moved, causing him to sigh and say, "Fine, you all pass."
"WHAT!?" were the collective shouts while Naruto and Sapphire just grinned.
"There was no tenth question; it was all a test to see if you would actually take the risk, because in the life of a shinobi there will be risks that you have to take, and this, this is just the first step," Ibiki said and before he could say anything else, an object crashed through the window and threw two kunai at the wall raising a banner that said
THE SEXY AND SINGLE ANKO MITARASHI
"Hello children," the woman known as Anko said. She had purple hair that was tied up in a ponytail, a fish net body suit and a beige trench coat, "Wow Ibiki look at all these kids, you must be losing your touch," she said.
"No I'm not, this is just a good batch this time," the man replied.
"Whatever, well kiddies my name is Anko Mitarashi and I am the proctor for the second stage, meet at training ground 44 in the next hour for the next stage," the woman said before looking at Sapphire, "Nice coat gaki."
"I know right," Sapphire said before putting his fist in the air and exclaiming, "Power to the trench coat!"
"Ha, you know what, I like you kid, power to the coat!" she exclaimed before disappearing in a Shushin.
"Tch, show off," Naruto Mentally said.
"Hm, it's not like I can help it that I have good fashion sense," Sapphire shot back.
*** 1 hour later training ground 44 Sapphire POV ***
"Welcome everyone," Anko said once everyone was in front of the training ground, "This is the forest of death!"
"So Naruto what do you think is going to happen?" Sapphire said, looking at the blonde.
"Don't know, I just hope it's worthwhile, and not a total disappointment," Naruto whispered back, thinking no one heard him, only for a kunai to fly by him and cut his cheek, and exclaim, "Holy shit!"
"What was that you were saying gaki?" said Anko, who had appeared behind Naruto and grabbed him from behind.
"Uh, nothing mam, nothing at all," the blonde said quickly.
"Right," was all she said before licking the cut that was on his face, "Mh, now that's some good blood you got there kid."
"Um, t-thank you, I think," Naruto stuttered out.
Anko was about to say something else but was interrupted as a grass nin came up behind her with her kunai, that was being held by his tongue, "I believe that this is yours, mam," he said.
"Thanks, I guess," Anko said and continued, "Why don't you keep your tongue to yourself, ok pal," she finished before disappearing in a Shushin and reappearing back on the stage.
"Ha, now that was funny Naruto," Sapphire mentally said while laughing.
"Screw you, asshole," Naruto shot back, "And don't think that I will forget this, I will have my revenge, believe it!"
"Now everyone," Anko called out, "You will be inside the forest of death for a maximum of five days!"
"Five days! But what about food!?" Choji exclaimed, horrified.
"Sorry, but you'll have to provide for yourself!" Anko shouted back, "Now, each team will be given a scroll, the earth scroll and the heaven scroll. You will need one of each, once you collect both scrolls then you are to head to the middle of the forest and find a tower where you will stay till the five days are up!" the woman said, "Oh and you aren't allowed to open the scrolls, or else."
"Well that was enlightening," Naruto thought.
"Yes, yes it was, how many people do you think will try to open the scrolls, Kyuubi?" Sapphire thought.
"How should I know, though I think it will probably at least a few," the demon said.
"Now, I need all of you to sign these release forms saying that we are not responsible for any deaths or injuries you sustain while in the exams!" Anko said.
"Wow, I'm excited now, I mean we're staring into the face of danger," Naruto said aloud, gaining a nod from Sapphire.
"Hm, I know, I just hope that we find some strong enemies to fight, am I right?" Sapphire said and Sasuke spoke up for the first time since the beginning of the exams.
"You're right, hopefully you guys don't get in my way," the duck butt haired boy said with a smirk.
"Oh, is that a challenge I hear?" Naruto said.
"I think it was my good sir," Sapphire said.
"Guys don't make this a contest," Sakura butted in.
"Fine, fine," Naruto said.
After obtaining their scroll from Anko, they quickly headed through the gates and into the forest of death.
"Well this is an interesting place," Naruto said, breaking the silence for the group.
"Yeah it is, what should we do, try and find another team, or head towards the tower and wait for a team there?" Sasuke said.
"I think that we should do the second one, mainly because it'll probably be quicker," Sapphire said.
"I say the second one, what do you think Sakura?" the blonde said.
"I agree with you two, the second one will most likely be easier," she said.
"Ok then let's go," the brunette said, "Does anyone have a jutsu that could help here?"
"I don't think so, but if someone gets close then me and Saff will be able to tell," Naruto said, and after a few minutes he said, "Wait guys."
"What is there a team nearby?" Sasuke said, grabbing his weapon.
"No I just need to take a piss," the blonde said bluntly.
"What, we've only been in here twenty minutes and you already need to go?" Sakura said.
"What? Don't blame me, blame nature. I'll be back in a minute or two, don't get your panties in a twist," Naruto said, walking away.
"Ugh, this is going to be a long day," Sasuke said.
*** POV change Naruto POV a few minutes later ***
"Ok now that that's over with, time to get back to the others," Naruto said, before he could do anything he heard a noise behind him. When he turned around he saw, "HOLY SHIT THAT"S A BIG FUCKING SNAKE!"
He immediately jumped to the left to avoid the lunge it made for him, but tripped over a root, and the snake caught him and swallowed him whole.
"NOOOOOOOOOO!" Naruto screamed dramatically as he was swallowed.
"Son of a bitch, how do I get into these messes?" Naruto said, trying to think of a way to escape, "Wait I got it, Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu," he called out and started to create a lot of clones, causing the snake's stomach to expand before, BOOM, the snake exploded in a shower of blood and guts, surprisingly none got on Naruto.
"Ugh, when I get out of this forest, the first thing I'm going to do is take a nice long shower," Naruto said and started to head back to the others, as he walked back to the group he heard and explosion and immediately started running towards the sound. What he came across was a beat up Sakura, a guy holding Sapphire up by the neck and that same guy, who had a really long neck, biting Sasuke on the neck.
"Let me go, Orochimaru," Sapphire struggled out, before falling unconscious.
"SAPPHIRE!" Naruto yelled out, rushing at the man.
