Two days had passed since the incident, and at the moment Ezio was driving Iluryas into insanity. From her room, their voices were heard all over the brothel.
"EZIO AUDITORE I'M GOING OUT WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!"
"YOU ARE NOT LEAVING THIS ROOM UNTIL I SAY SO!" Ezio was in front of Iluryas blocking her from the door.
"How many times do I have to say this! I. Am. FINE!" Iluryas tried to get past him but Ezio was too big, too strong, too EVERYTHING! "MOVE!"
"You were also fine two days ago! Look what happened then!" The assassin grabbed the woman, who was now trying to punch him, and took her to the bed.
"ARGH! Get off me you coglione! Pezzo di mierda!" She fought from beneath him, and a few times hit him in the stomach making Ezio growl in pain.
"Will you, STAY STILL!" He glared at her, he was starting to lose his good sense.
"NO! I want to go outside! See and talk to people other than YOU!" She returned him a glare, full of anger and annoyance.
The two stayed like that for a while, just staring, a battle of wills. Then Ezio had an idea to keep her still, he smiled.
"What are you smiling for?!" Realizing that the assassin had something in mind Iluryas tried to get away as fast as she could, but she was too late.
In an instance Ezio relaxed on top of her, trapping her with his full weight. He smiled even more when he heard her cry in defeat.
"You could have, at least, taken your armor off!" She whined.
"And risk having you attack my soft points? Not a chance!" Has he talked he could feel her relaxing beneath him, her hands that had been locked in his were now free and on top of her head.
"Tch! Mario talks too much!"
"Uncle Mario always had a soft spot for good wine." Ezio shifted his hands down the bed, has he did he purposely delineated her curves… When he did he felt Iluryas shiver at his touch.
"Really! And you were there to listen, ever so eagerly…" He heard the smile in her voice, and relaxed, she had calmed down.
"I wouldn't say I was eager… but yes I was there…" He lifted his weight from her and stared into her eyes, and gave her a seductive smile. "It was a fun night."
Iluryas looked at the man on top of her and cursed the gods, how could anyone resist this! The damn man knew how to work his charms. Flirty, funny, seductive, strong and let's never forget, devilishly handsome. The perfect trap for any girl.
She bit her lower lip as she noticed him looking at her… She heard the bed argue with their weight has he leaned forward to kiss her.
Iluryas panicked, she tried to remember what they were talking about before, and how was it they ended like that?!
It had been like that for the past two days, for some reason Ezio was more forceful than before, more possessive of her, it appeared that he no longer held a grudge against her, and he didn't waste time proving it…
He was kinder and more protective…
Suddenly a light bulb, light up in her mind and she remembered what drove them to the bed, and Iluryas felt her anger returning to her.
"Ezio…" She called his name using her most seductive voice and smile.
Slowly Iluryas hand grabbed Ezio's neck and pulled him closer in, she saw the surprise in his eyes, her smile grew bigger as she closed her eyes, enticing him in… Then when she felt his warm breath on her lips Iluryas opened her eyes, smirked at the Assassin and compress the pressure point on his neck, paralyzing him.
Ezio screamed in pain has he felt the pressure on his neck, and he growled annoyed and in shock, when he couldn't move his muscles. He glared at the woman beneath him, who was laughing like crazy.
"ILURYAS!" He screamed her name in fury when she snaked out of his embrace.
"Don't worry Ezio, the paralysis will disappear in a few minutes, but by then I'll already be out of here!" She smiled happily, as she grabbed her coat and a few weapons.
"Ciao, bello!" Iluryas looked at him, blew him a kiss and went out the door laughing loudly.
"DAMN!" Ezio tried to move but he couldn't, he cursed, "Cazo! When I get my hands on her!" His fury was big but so was his smile.
Ezio had found another side to Iluryas, stubborn, vengeful and sexy, very sexy but dangerous too.
Iluryas walked down the street with a caution… From time to time she would stop and listen her surroundings, searching for the voices…
The wind blew through the city streets, a cold but gentle breeze that made her sigh in relieve.
She resumed her walk, and picked up her pace, she had the strange feeling she was being watched but she felt no threat to her life… it could be Jack, or the annoying assassin that kept her locked up for 2 days! Remembering just made Iluryas more annoyed.
She didn't like to be kept prisoner, she didn't like to be in closed places for too long. Iluryas liked freedom.
As she walked down to the canal, and paid a man for his gondola, she told her to take him around, she didn't care where, the man obliged slightly confused.
Iluryas saw as he begun to row. Her eyes staring at the blue water that flowed beneath them… The soothing rocking of the boat relaxed her body, and she quickly laid against the wooden gondola enjoying the mid-day sun light and warmth on her face. She only glanced once at the rooftops above them, and looked for the familiar white uniform she knew so well.
Content with not seeing him, she closed her eyes once again and she pondered on the night of two days ago… She had lost consciousness and yet Ezio had completed his mission without any problem and, although she was glad about that, Iluryas couldn't help to feel that something was wrong…
Ezio's reactions and actions she had already noticed, but that wasn't what bothered her.
Whatever it was, she was sure that it had to do with her.
Or maybe the dreams and memories were finally getting to her and she was, as Ezio had pointed countless times in the last days, tired…
Iluryas opened her eyes, on the exact moment the gondola passed through the place she wanted, she smiled and told the man to stop kindly giving him another gold coin for his services.
She hopped out of the boat and once again roamed the streets of Venezia. She was just about to turn a corner when she heard something that sent shivers down her spine.
"ILURYAS!" Her head snapped right to the place where the owner of the voice was, and she saw a VERY angry assassin, staring at her with a wicked smile on his lips.
Ezio Auditore was staring at her with rage in his features and a glint of mischief in his eyes. Iluryas only had time to think one thing when she saw him… Run!
She darted to the alley on her left with full speed, and she didn't stop, because she knew if she got caught she would never hear the end of it.
Ezio left the room where his annoying lady had left him, and he was furious! The moment he finds her, he would make sure she would regret tricking him.
A malicious smile appeared in his scarred lip, as he came up with ideas of what to do to her, but first, of course, he had to find her!
He left the brothel not very long after her, and begun asking the girls which way she went.
"Oh… Wouldn't you rather have fun with us than look for that, ragazza? We could have so much fun, together…" He smiled as the ladies fussed over him, but he refused their offer. They were not pleased at that, as they huffed and opened their vans to cool their faces.
"She went that way, but we doubt you will find her, she was running."
"Grazie mille, madonnas."
Ezio stared down the street, trying to catch a glimpse of Iluryas. 'She couldn't have gotten that far…' he thought to himself as he began walking.
"Messere Ezio, if you don't find her we will still be here!" The girls screamed at him as he picked up the pace, he only smiled.
With an easy jump he passed over the crates, climbed the walls and reached the rooftops. Ezio had no idea where Iluryas could be, or where she was headed to, but he had his ways of finding out, after all he was an Assassin.
He climbed the nearest tower, there he looked carefully at the crowd down below he concentrated hard trying to pinpoint his target, like he had done so many times, but it was harder than he thought.
"Where are you?" He whispered to himself, his golden eyes scanned the area meticulously, there had to be something…
Suddenly he caught eye of a big bird, flying above a secondary canal, the bird looked vaguely familiar… Ezio squinted his eyes and searched his memories. The bird was clearly an eagle, but it was too large for its kind, and yet he had the strange sensation he had seen it before, but where?
Suddenly realization fell upon him, 'Arclight!' he thought as he remembered Iluryas enormous eagle. A smirk appeared once more on his lips and a glint of mischief shined on his eyes.
"Found you!"
He performed the leap of faith and the moment he touched the hay Ezio jumped out of it, a dangerous rush of adrenaline pumping on his veins, as he run towards the place he saw the eagle, and where his master was most likely to be.
Iluryas ran as fast as she could, not even wanting to look behind her. Her heart was beating faster and faster and her lungs were breathing more air in than out.
In a normal situation, this would be a case where she was running for dear life, but in this case it was different… She was running from the man that was stalking her! And she was doing so with a smile on her face.
She looked behind her, and to her dread, Ezio was right behind her, and he was catching up with her, which at the same time annoyed her and made her impressed. 'That little prat! He's gotten better and faster!' She thought as she tried to shake him of…
Iluryas refocused her attention to her front, and when she did, she soon regretted looking back. Up ahead was a canal and beyond that was a wall! At her current speed she couldn't turn on time without losing her balance, but… she didn't want to stop and let Ezio win!
She thought about her options… and she didn't like them.
Ezio was focused on his target and on their little chase, he too only noticed the canal later on.
He smirked, he knew Iluryas couldn't make the turn at that speed, and at the same time he knew she didn't have the equipment necessary to climb the building, she had to slow down and take the turn! However the moment she would do so he would tackle her to the ground!
But to Ezio's surprise Iluryas didn't stop, instead she accelerated…
Iluryas eyes were focused on the poles near the water canal, if her calculations were correct she would be able to do a complete flip on the pole and turn to the right without being caught and, most likely, being capable of sending Ezio to the cold and dirty water canal. She smiled, her speed grew and her focus remained on the target.
"Are you mad! You'll go right against the wall at that speed!"
She could hear his voice behind her but she ignored him, her instincts and the adrenaline spoke higher and louder than logic. In her head a small flame, a forgotten feeling from the past, ignited in her, and only for a moment her green eyes turned into bright blue ones.
A few meters away from the pole Iluryas jumped, and right when she was near the edge, before she could see the water she grabbed the pole with both hands.
And as she had expected the speed and force made her turn to the side, back to the street and away from the water. When she was above ground she released her grip and before she knew it she flew a few meters away from the canal and further into the street.
Still smiling and laughing her lungs out Iluryas did a midair flip, landing with her feet on the ground, safe and sound. As she looked up she was pleased to see a very stunned assassin, that wasn't paying attention to his surroundings, moments later she could hear and see a big splash of water where the assassin had fallen in.
The smile on her face only grew when Ezio lifted his heavy armor and himself from the water and glared at her, angrier than before.
Before he could completely get up Iluryas climbed the wall to her right and disappeared from his sight once more…
From rooftop to rooftop she jumped, until she saw the place she was looking for... San Marco's Plaza. Iluryas swiftly evaded the guards and while everyone's eyes were away from her she climbed the clock tower…
From up above she could see the floating city of Venetia, a smile grew on her face as she found what she had looked.
"It's still there." She whispered… As she lifted herself up and stared down at the ground, she lifted her arms towards the sky and fell down with an excited scream. When she reached the hay carriage she immediately rolled out of it.
As she cleaned herself off all the hay she placed her hands on her hips, breathed in the air and, once again, she ran.
The water filled canals, the tight calle's, filled with statues and vegetation, the Venetia that no one knew about, the stairs and passages that lead everywhere but that everyone ignored. Those were some of the reasons why she loved this city…
Iluryas stopped breathless in front of an ivy filled wall, carefully she parted the vegetation and uncovered one of those secret doors…
As she opened the door she discovered a new calle stairs, as she was going in she discovered something written on the wall 'To a new world on the sky!' She giggled amused and she wondered who had written such embarrassing words.
With a new found energy and excitement Iluryas ran at full speed down the stone steps.
As she reached the light at the end of the tunnel she saw a new view of the town, the canal's, the red rooftops, the large sea reflecting the blue sky. "Beautiful…" Her legs moved before she could know it as her eyes were focused on the lovely view…
Before her glance left the scenery, a big black shadow jumped in front of her, and with a loud and happy voice it barked…
"Hello, Luviathan, how have you been?" Iluryas smiled down at her silver eyed wolf while fondly hugging and patting it, which was very hard! Because the wolf wouldn't stand still, it was too happy to see its master again.
When they were done with the hellos, Luviathan entered a small alley that led to a cute wooden door. Following behind, Iluryas entered the small door went up the stairs and as she gradually saw what was in front of her she smiled.
A yard filled with orange and lemon trees, gave the air a citrus and refreshing smell, the lavender that was placed on small pots around the little cottage gave color and elegance to the plain house.
The small wooden mill rolled with the stream water that left the wall behind the house… The water passed small canals used to supply the trees and other plants, it was a very well thought watering system. When they needed water they would activate the small mill weal, and it would open or close the original stream flow, and make the water flow towards the desired places…
While she was distracted admiring the plantation and small property, someone else watched her.
"Welcome back!" The strong, male, English accent voice surprised her, in a quick movement she grabbed a throwing knife and threw it towards whoever it was that had called to her.
However she missed, for the man merely moved his head to the side, swiftly evading the dagger.
He mockingly whistled and quickly retrieved the dagger and walked towards her with a smirk on his lips.
"You, missed…" He handed her the dagger while bowing down in disrespect. Annoyed Iluryas yanked the knife from his hands and glared at him.
"You should be glad! If I had hit you, you would be dead!"
"Hahaha! Guess again, love!"
"What are you doing here Jack!?" Not wanting to play this game with him she went straight to business.
"Mmn… Vacation?" He said with a grin as he scratched his chin.
"You don't do those!"
"I could, if I wanted to…" Jack approached the trees and without warning he yanked an orange from it and started peeling it. "So… Where's pretty boy?"
"Who?" She was getting annoyed by his actions. Being around Jack always made her feel like that, and it didn't help that the man could read her like a book!
"You know, the Auditore kid! He followed you right?" Jack took the orange to his mouth and began eating, his eyes closed and a big smirk on his lips.
"He did, but I lost him, before I arrived at San Marco's Plazza."
"Really? Well that's a bore… Oh well!" He quickly licked his lips and stared at her intently. Those eyes! It was those eyes that annoyed her and made her fell uncomfortable at the same time. Those icy, blue eyes that could see through everything. "Guess I'll meet him when I meet him…"
"What are you talking about?"
"Well I have to meet the man that completely changed the woman I trained, and turned her into this girl in front of me, that didn't even realized that I was here!"
Iluryas tensed up, Jack was circling her, walking slowly, never taking his eyes from her… He was hunting her!
"You're not supposed to be here!" She didn't move, her senses were getting higher and higher, but… she couldn't pinpoint him, nor hear him, but she could feel his eyes on her.
"If it hadn't been me you would be dead!" He whispered on her ear, besides her something fell, when she looked at it she saw the dead body of a Templar… "His other friends are at the back, I took care of them and gathered very interesting information…"
"What?!"
"Hah! I won't tell you! At least not until you stop behaving like…" Jack stopped in front of her and examined her from head to toe. "This." He pointed at all of her.
"I haven't changed!"
"Oh, but you have my dear… you're more emotional, and that means you'll make mistakes!" His cold eyes changed into a glare.
"I don't make mistakes!"
"We'll see… In the next weeks you and pretty boy will be busy." His eyes returned to normal and he turned his back on her. "I'll be watching… not always but not never…" He fondly patted Luviathan's head, and walked towards the stairs. "Oh! And Iluryas, my advice to you about the Auditore boy, is… Fuck him and get done with it."
The moment she heard those words her eyes turned red, she grabbed the same knife as before and threw it at him, with her free hand she threw another one faster than the eye could see! But neither ones hit the target…
She glared in rage at the place where Jack had been, her face was red, her breathing and heart beat accelerated, and she felt extremely tired.
Besides her Luviathan liked her hand trying to calm her, but instead received a glare himself.
"Traitor!" The poor animal ears slouched down and it softly whimpered like a small cub. Iluryas stared at her wolf and felt regret rising in her. She was mad but not at Luviathan… "I'm sorry Luvi… I'm not mad at you… it's that man! He pisses me off!" Her fury returned.
Iluryas shook her head and slapped herself hard in the face, making the wolf jump, confused.
"Okay! I need to forget about him! How about a nice bath and then a delicious dinner!?" She smiled as she patted Luviathan, who, after seeing its master's smile it perked up once again and barked what Iluryas took as a yes.
"Well then, lead the way."
