Olivia walked into her house and took a deep breath before John came down from upstairs. "Hey, where have you been?" John asked going to the fridge and grabbing a water bottle.
"I wanted to talk to you about that actually. Where's the rest of the guys?" Olivia asked seeing her father and other siblings missing from the house.
"Dad took them fishing. You know me and boats. I always end up in the water." John sighed shaking his head before sitting down at the dining room table. "So, what did you want to talk about?"
Olivia sighed and ran a hand through her hair before sitting down next to him. "Well, something happened?"
John's eyes got wide. "What? What happened? Are you hurt? Who hurt you? Is it the Cragen boys? I swear to God-"
"John! Don't worry. I'm not hurt." Olivia said putting her hands on his arm to calm him down. "Something happened today, but I have to tell you something that might make you made at me."
"Why would I be mad at you?" John asked furrowing his eyebrows.
Olivia paused and closed her eyes. "I'm going against the family."
John's jaw dropped before he looked down at his hands. "The rumors about you and Elliot... are they true?"
"We've been dating for a while now, yes." Olivia whispered with a nod. She saw John stand up suddenly and felt the anger radiating off of him. "He didn't trick me. He has done nothing to me."
"Nothing to you? Olivia, his brothers have raped half of our town! That gene is part of him!" John shouted slamming his hands down on the table. "How could you date him? He has killed people in our family."
Olivia stood up as well. "And, we have killed people in his!" John stood up straight and stared at her. "Look, I know you do not like that family. I'm not saying I like them either, but I like Elliot. I more than like him, I love him." John's nose flared. "He's not going to take advantage of me. Dad knows about us."
John's jaw dropped yet again. "Dad knew and didn't put a stop to it?"
"What would he stop, John? I'm not a little kid anymore. People my age are in college and finding the people they are going to married. I love you and Dad and I don't want anything bad to happen to you. But, Elliot isn't going to hurt me. He stood up for me today and a while back when Mom confronted me." Olivia sighed standing up for herself. She hated fighting with her family, especially with John and her father.
"Mom confronted you?" John asked wide eyed.
Olivia nodded crossing her arms over her chest. "Twice actually. The first time, he let me beat her up. The second time, he defended me and make sure she didn't hurt me. He once told me that he would rather die being with me than live fighting against me." She saw John's eyes soften. "He loves me for me, John. And, I love him."
John paused and sat back down at the table. "I never thought I'd hear you say that you loved a Cragen boy."
"Well, I never thought I would say it either, but... it just sort of happened." Olivia breathed sitting back down as well and looking at him. "Are you mad at me? I would understand-"
"I'm not mad, just confused as to how all this happened." John said shaking his head. He looked up at her and smiled lightly. "But, I can tell that you love this guy. Just know that, if he hurts you, I will have to kill him."
Olivia rolled her eyes. "I've already called that spot. It's taken." She smiled when John chuckled at her. "The reason I told you this is because of what happened today." John focused his attention back on her. "A guy was harassing me at the diner and went over to the bar, the one I told you about when you guys came." John nodded his head. "Well, Elliot was below the counter when you guys were there. So, he heard the whole story and wanted to teach the guy a lesson. I was trying to stop him, saying it wasn't worth it, but he is overprotective of me like you and Daddy are."
John shook his head. "I beg to differ. We are just the right amount."
"Well," Olivia said continuing her story. "Elliot threatened the guy and when we looked around, we say Elliot's brothers there. Elliot thinks they want to get to me. Apparently, they've talked about it." John started to breathe a little heavier. "Elliot told me to run and gave me his truck keys before pushing me out of the bar. I ran to his truck and started it before he hopped into the tailgate. His brothers chased us out until we were too far down the road to be seen. We went to his house to make sure they were gone. Elliot is going to lay low at his place for a couple weeks because his brothers are going to kill him."
"What about you?" John asked furrowing his eyebrows.
Olivia nodded her head. "Elliot thinks that they are going to try and get to me more now than ever before. So, he wants you or Daddy to take me to work and stay with me for a while until things cool down so I'm never alone."
John agreed. "He's putting you first. He's getting some points here. If it means keeping you safe, yes. Dad and I will make sure you get to work and home safely. How long do we keep this up?"
Olivia ran a hand through her hair. "Elliot and I decided that, in a couple of weeks, it'd be safer for me to travel to work by myself, but he stays with me while I work. I usually go to his place after work anyway."
"That sounds reasonable enough, I guess. I'd rather you not see him at all, but I don't think you could handle it." John smirked, making Olivia chuckle. "Has Dad met him?"
"Yeah, he showed up at Elliot's house one night and had a conversation with him while I was on speaker phone." Olivia grinned before pausing and taking one of his hands into his. "Are you okay with this?"
John chuckled. "I'm not happy with it, but I can deal with it. If he makes you happy, that's all I need to know." He kissed her forehead before taking her into the living room to watch TV with him.
