A/N: Delays delays. Job changes and all that jazz. Anyway, this should have been from the NejiTen week 2 prompt. I promise I'll finish the next two parts! Enjoy!

Part 2: Things we wish we said

Naruto and Hinata had been happily married for exactly three months. Tenten knew this, not out of love and happiness for the new couple, and not because she and Hinata were good friends.

No, Tenten knew the date of their three month anniversary because after the ceremony everyone had drank and danced their way around the courtyard of the Hyuuga compound. And in Tenten's case, right in to Neji's room and then his bed.

It had been rushed and somewhat clumsy, as they'd stumbled to his bed. They didn't even undress. Tenten could still feel the weight of the silk from her gown piled on her belly and the awkward awareness of being naked from the waist-down.

Three months to the day she had slept with her teammate. And three months since, they had failed to broach the subject of what happened that afternoon.

She wanted to talk about it, but she could never find the courage to when they were alone. Or, on rare occasions when she had thought fuck it, I'm saying something, Lee or Gai would show up.

She wished she'd said something sooner. There was so much she wanted to tell him… to ask him. She had wanted to try a relationship - granted they still could. But it would no longer feel organic. She thought, at this point, it would feel more like an ultimatum.

It was a sickening finality - the necessity to bring it up - that led Tenten to the Hyuuga compound and Neji's door.

She took a deep breath, pushing down the churn in her stomach, and knocked.

When the door opened, it was like traveling back in time. Memories of the sights, sounds and smells flooded her senses as she stepped blindly over the threshold.

Tenten felt his eyes on her as she walked over to the bed. She turned to face him. The edge of the bed pressed in to the back of her knees. The last time she had felt the edge of his bed, she had tipped onto her back, with Neji curled over her.

Today she sat - alone. Neji sat at his desk, waiting for her to get comfortable.

"So…" once again, the words fell flat on her lips. She knew they had to talk about it, but she wasn't ready. Unfortunately time was not on her side.

She tried again.

"Um…"

Neji raised a brow at her, waiting.

"Well… That is…. We need to talk."

"Sure. What would you like to talk about?"

She wanted to scream at him. You know exactly what!

"About Hinata's wedding…" She looked him in the eye. "And what happened… here… between us…"

He nodded.

"I see. And what… about that day-"

"I'm…" Tenten stumbled over her words. She'd come this far, there was no turning back.

"I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant."

Neji didn't move, but Tenten noticed the way he stiffened as her own anxieties now became his.

The silence that stretched between them as she waited for Neji to find his voice was maddening.

"And how sure exactly is pretty sure?"

Tenten studied the hem of her skirt.

"Three-positive-tests-sure."

He sighed.

"That does sound pretty sure."

It did. And she knew that a new unspoken truth hung between them.

They were pretty sure they were fucked.

A/N: Sorry this is a shorty, but I wanted to get it out. Also, leave you hanging. :p Anyway, thanks for reading. Please leave me a note if you enjoyed it!
