Yugi, who was Screaming was not in his bed, but in a corner of the room curled into a tight ball acting as if he was warding off blows.

"YUGI!" Atem said as he leaped over the bed and rushed to Yugi's side. Atem knelt down and drew Yugi to him trying to comfort his screaming hikari. "What's wrong Yugi?"

Yugi looked up, his eyes glazed over in fear, did not see Atem, and he screamed another agonizing scream. Atem shook Yugi,to no avail. Atem then did the one thing he thought would snap him him back, but would soon regret. Atem raised his hand and slapped Yugi across the face.

Atem's P.O.V

I stared at Yugi's body in extreme anxiety. I called to him but my precious hikari continued to lay limp. I tried to reach out to Yugi using the mind link but found it blocked. I pushed against the barrier with all my strength till "POOF" it disappeared. Then a wave of grief, terror, and despair crashed into my side of the mind link. Yugi then started to tremble violently and a sob was ripped from his body.

I reached toward Yugi, who had come back from whatever trance he was in, and was about to touch his face when Yugi bolted out of my arms terror still trapped in his eyes as he screamed, "NO STOP HURTING ME! WHY WOULD YOU HURT ME? I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS!"

I was shocked when I heard this, I thought why would I harm my precious Abiou. I then said slowly trying not to scare Yugi anymore,"Abiou," noticing how he cringed at my voice, "why would I hurt you? Come here let me comfort you."

"NO! I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO DO! YOU'LL PRETEND TO WANT TO HELP ME BUT WHEN I GET CLOSE ENOUGH YOULL BEAT ME AGAIN!" Yugi screamed as tears streamed down his face.

I tried stepping towards Yugi not predicting his next action. He bolted from the room and as he ran I saw him building a labyrinth to escape into. I thought what in the world has my precious hikari seen to make him act this way, as I started to chase poor little Yugi.

Yugi's P.O.V

How could I be such a fool I thought to myself as I rushed from my Yami. To think that I was saved...how ridiculous. Grief weld up in side me as I thought about what had happened, and pondering as to why.

Flashback

We just got the bow of life and I thought they were about to shoot me with it to save me. How wrong I was. I stood helplessly as I watched who I thought were my friends, snap the bow.

"Why" I cried shocked!

Joey turned to me saying with a sneer, "did you think we would save you? Zorc has promised us riches beyond our wildest dreams to destroy you."

"I was promised Atem, I couldn't let that pass." Tea said with an evil smirk.

I turned to the others who shrugged saying, "We never really liked you. We only hung out with you because Zorc promised us that our dreams would come true if we befriended you to destroy you."

I couldn't believe what my friends had just said. I then watched them as they surrounded me. I felt the first punch in my gut knowing immediately that it was Joey. Then I was scratched by Tea. Tristan and Bakura lashed out at my head. I curled into a ball as they beat me. I screamed with each blow. I then heard a voice, a voice that chilled me to the core.

It said, "See, what are you compared to me? I am a powerful God, while you are a puny mortal."

I watched Zorc transform the world into a world of darkness,the only light supplied were those of people who were being burned by a blood red fire. I saw Zorc eat my friends that had not betrayed me as well as my grandpa. I saw all this as I was beaten. I then heard a voice call to me I looked and saw Yami walking toward me. As he walked the betrayers fled.

Yami called to me with arms open "come here little one, let me comfort you."

I struggled to my feet and limped to him thinking "I'm saved"

When I reached him he punched me in the gut like Joey.

"HAHAHAHAHA, You should have seen your face, HAHAHAHAHA" Yami laughed cruelly as he shoved me down. He then walked toward me and picked me up and shook me. He then slapped me in the face. I couldn't take it I went limp, and blacked out. I then awoke to being in Yami's arms. The pain from the previous beating was gone I trembled thinking "what will happen next" I watched as Yami reached out his hand to me. I didn't want anymore abuse so I bolted from his arms. I turned to scream at him "NO STOP HURTING ME! WHY WOULD YOU HURT ME? I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS!" I watched as he tried to reply with the I want to comfort you thing. How dare he try using that trick on me again! I even said so to him "NO! I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO DO! YOU'LL PRETEND TO WANT TO HELP ME BUT WHEN I GET CLOSE ENOUGH YOULL BEAT ME AGAIN!" tears then pored over my eyes as I bolted from the room.

End of Flash Back

I have to get out of here before he finds me. Just as the thought entered my mind I was jumped from the side. It was a demon of Zorc. I cried out and tried to wrestle it of me but failed. It bit deep into my neck as I struggled. Eventually I couldn't keep up my energy drained and was giving up when the weight suddenly vanished. In a daze I looked to see who had rescued me. I was shocked when I saw Yami there.

I heard him yell, "Leave my precious Abiou alone." Yami then decapitated the demon using the power from a stone around his neck. The same stone that hung from my neck as I realized that the Yami before didn't have the stone.

I gasped as I realize that Zorc showed me all of those things . When I realized this a voice from my mind room came and said to me, "That was a preview of what will happen when I'm back in control. HEHEHE to control your friends and have them beat you up is something I will enjoy when it really happens" then the voice faded.

Yami then came to me and I whispered, "Yami? Is it you? the real you?"

Normal P.O.V

"Yami? Is it really you?" Yugi then broke down crying, sobs racked his body.

Atem hugged Yugi and tried to sooth his sobs "SH it's okay your fine sh. Now tell me what happened?"

"He showed me visions of what was to come if he was in power. I saw fire burning the land and the people. I saw my friends got consumed then my best friends betrayed me. They beat me. Then you..you.." Yugi recalling what Atem had done shock before saying, "NO I CAN'T SAY IT! PLEASE, DON'T MAKE ME SAY IT!" Yugi started to whimper.

"SHHH it's alright you don't have to say it," Atem said soothingly already guessing what had happened, "It's okay, I'm here, Zorc just wants to weaken your mind, don't let him. You need to be strong little one. Now lets clean you up." Atem said pointing at the bite on Yugi's neck.

"Where did that demon come from?" Atem the asked

"I have a feeling that during the visions I had my fear manifested into one of these demons" yugi replies in a hushed tone.

After Atem bandaged Yugi he said "Now you need to go to sleep."

"NO!" Yugi screamed and said, "THE VISIONS WILL COME BACK!" Yugi stood up and tried to run away from Atem, thinking he will force him to sleep.

Atem caught Yugi before he could run and said," Fear not Abiou, I'll remain here and banish the darkness from your mind, so you can rest easy, but first I need to explain to our friends that I'll be staying in here for a while, OK?"

Yugi nodded in agreement and Atem appeared out of the Seishin Stone into his body. He then explained the situation to his fiends.

"Alright Pal we'll wait here until yug has rested, you better get back to him now" Joey said.

"Right" Atem replied and disappeared back into his mind room. Yugi was still up when Atem returned

"Alright , Yugi please go get some rest now."

"Alright, Yugi said as he climbed back into bed and fell asleep quickly.

A chair materialized on the side of Yugi's bed. Atem sat in it, and using his powers, kept the darkness from entering Yugi's sleep.

Yugi- Yami where is the Author?

Atem- (twirling his fingers) I don't know.

Yugi- Yami...

Atem- um nothing she uh went to the rest room...yeah that's where she went.

Yugi- well...alright

Atem- Read rate and review or you'll end up like the author.

Yugi- what was that Yami?

Atem- NOTHING!

Yugi-mmmhm (wispers to grandpa) can you go find out what happened to the author?

Grandpa- sure.
