I just want to apologize for not ever writing said sequel. I had planned to, but the muse left and this was all I had when that happened. So, I'll post it here for anyone that wanted a little more.
Enjoy!
The world builds around me and I see that I'm standing at the entrance to Zelda's garden. Huh? I suppose this is a good place to go back in time to. At least I don't have to sneak past the inexperienced guards. I breath in the fresh air and walk into the grass. I'm halfway to the stairs when I notice Zelda isn't there. I look to see if she is in the garden and...
Get knocked to the ground. "Link! Sheik did it!"
I'm dazed and Zelda gets up grabbing my wrists, trying to pull me to my feet. "Hurry! You have to see this!"
"Give me back my arms and maybe I could." She giggles and lets go, to which I fall back in the grass with an 'oof'.
"Liiiiink! Hurry! We are gonna miss it!" The princess of Hyrule is whining... Why am I not surprised.
I scramble over to the window and Zelda giggles again.
Inside, I see the king sitting on his throne, Ganondorf on the floor at his feet.
"Ganondorf Dragmire, once King of the Gerudo Thieves. You have been found guilty of attempted murder of the King of Hyrule. As is my divine right as king of this great nation, I sentence you to a life of servitude. Wherever I bid you to go, you shall go. Whatever I say you shall do, you will do. You are under my authority until the Three take you from this world." I saw Ganondorf gulp and avert his eyes, but I didn't really think it was a bad punishment. I'd rather have had Sheik kill him.
"Isn't this great, Link!" I nod and Zelda giggles. "Now we can go about our lives like normal."
"I have to go find Sheik." The words have left my mouth before I can stop them. Zelda stops smiling and looks to me.
"Are you sure you need to do that right away? Wouldn't you like to rest a bit." I shake my head and back down off of the platform. "Wait, Link!"
But I'm already sprinting for the exit. "I need to see him now. I'll see you soon, Zel! And Sheik will be with me!"
I wonder if he is on his way. What will he think of me... I sigh and push through the curtain, walking out into the fresh morning air. My people are celebrating. Today is the day the Three blessed this land with all their wonders. I'm thankful that I can see this day.
"Thanks for the advice, Aveil!" I chuckle as the Gerudo pat me on the back. Nabooru is their leader once more and Ganondorf is no longer amongst their ranks. They have no king. Sheik said he would be taking everything from Ganondorf... Does that mean he will be the Gerudo king now?
The harsh winds slap me in the face as I travel further and further from the fortress. It really was easier to do this when I had my adult body.
'You... Oh, fated one...'
"Huh?" I squint my eyes, but can see nothing in the sandstorm.
'He is waiting...Follow...'
"Wait! Who am I following?" I hold up my hand to block the sand from hitting me in the face and hopefully get a better look.
'I'll show you the only way to go... So follow me and don't be slow...'
My eyes widen in realization. "Oh, I forgot about the- Hey! Aren't you supposed to be at the bunker thing near the Spirit Temple."
'Follow...'
I cursed and tried to gain my footing in the shifting sand.
The sun was setting when the sandstorm was finally behind me and my legs tried to give out.
'Find him... He is waiting for you...'
"Are you talking about Sheik?"
'Find him...'
"Do I just go this way?"
'He is waiting for you...'
"Sheik!" I glance from the water's surface over to Maryu as she approaches.
She stops as she gets within a few feet of me and bends over gasping for breath. "Is something wrong?"
"Th-There is-" Maryu holds her hand up and takes a moment to breath. "A Hylian... is on the border of the village. He's asking for you."
My heart starts to beat faster and faster in my chest. Link? The sand tries to burn at my bare feet as I take off from the oasis. I can see a group of my people gathered together and I pick up my pace.
"Drink lente, slowly, boy." Icaco is holding a water skin to our visitor's lips as I make my way through the crowd.
I stop and stare a moment and crystal blue eyes find mine. "-eik."
Link's voice is a croak and I'm by his side almost immediately. "Yes, Link. It's me."
"Thought... never find..." I shush him and run my fingers through his golden hair.
"You found me." My people can only watch in wonder as I instruct Icaco to bring Link to my home.
A cough tears through my throat and I bring a hand up to it.
"Here. Drink." Something is pressed to my lips and I drink greedily. A chuckle reaches my ears. "Still just as thirsty as when we found ya."
I break away and sigh. Then something pops to the forefront of my mind. My muscles hurt as I try to sit up. "Sheik? Where is Sheik?"
A gentle hand guides me back down. "He is speaking with the aetate, elders. It is not every day a Hylian comes to our village and knows our sacerdos."
"When will he be ba-"
The question is answered for me as the door to the small home is pushed open and shut moments later. "Quam ipse est?"
I puzzle over what Sheik is asking and what the man says gives nothing away. "Salve. Sitiens."
"Link?"
Translations:
lente = slow, slowly
aetate = older, age, elder
sacerdos = priest, priestess
Quam ipse est? = How is he?
Salve. Sitiens. = Well. Thirsty."
I'm going to post everything in my docs today and probably be done with writing fanfics. It was a lovely ride being here with everyone and I'll miss it, but I just don't have the drive or time to keep at it. I'd like to say I'll post once in a blue moon, but who knows if even that was happen. Sorry to those of you that were faithful fans of me to the end.
Goodbye, my lovelies.
