Robin looked near the house to look for Clementine; she was on her track for a little bit but managed to lose a little girl within minutes. She sighed and went around the house, pushing her luck, not knowing why she doesn't just check the tent. She placed her hands on her hips and walked around before she heard a door slam with frustration that made her stop in her tracks. She saw Shane marching out of the house with a fresh new bandage on his arm, he looked nervous. His face was red and sweaty.
Robin's brow clutched together with confusion, she'd seen enough movies in college to know when something is suspicious…hopefully. Shane was walking pretty quickly as if he was in a hurry, Robin was curious enough to follow but stayed far enough to avoid being seen. She saw Shane disappear behind a tree that she remembered Lori was cutting vegetables there earlier. She looked around making sure no one was watching them and carefully took a few steps closer.
"It's not your fault. It's not your fault. It was never your fault!"
Robin got startled by the sudden remark but got a clear view on what Shane was doing, he had his knife out and his sleeve rolled up. He pressed the blade against his arm and a thick crimson liquid dripped from his skin and onto the ground beneath him. He kept muttering the same words over and over again to himself so he barely took notice to Robin's presence.
"Shane, what are you doing?"
He flinched and made a cut too deep on his wrist and he pulled down his sleeve to hide the damage he's done. "I um…It's nothing just talking to myself."
"Talking to yourself? You're cutting yourself." Robin came closer to aid Shane but he quickly got up to get away from her, he looked uncomfortable and nervous. He couldn't look Robin in the eye and kept moving his head from side to side.
"Shane, let me help you. Here." Robin gently grabbed his arm but he retreated quickly and pushed her up against the tree. He held the knife near her neck and pressed up against her body. "What the fuck? Let go!"
"I said I am fine, you hear me."
"Ok! Ok fine, you're alright. Now let me go." She demanded, she saw Shane's eyes were crazy. She didn't know what to make of it, they weren't the same as before. This wasn't the Shane that she knew.
"Hey, let her go." Shane turned his head to see Daryl standing nearby with his crossbow at hand. He was ready to shoot Shane if he made a scratch on Robin. Shane smirked under his breath and chuckled. He loosened his grip and backed off, Robin pushed him away and stood by Daryl's side.
"Calm down, Daryl. We're just talking."
"Now you're done talking."
Shane chuckled once more at how protective he was being and wandered off once against, clutching onto his wrist. Robin sighed with relief and rubbed her neck.
"Thanks for the save."
Daryl swung his crossbow over his shoulder and spat on the ground. "Wanna explain why Shane had his knife to your neck?"
Robin bit her bottom lip and looked around them, Rick didn't want to cause suspicion in the group so they had to talk in private. Who knew if Shane was still listening around them? Robin grabbed his hand and quickly dragged Daryl behind her, he didn't resist her but he was still confused on what she was doing.
She took him to her tent, not surprised Clementine wasn't there, and led Daryl inside. He sat down on Robin's sleeping bag and took his crossbow off to lay it on the ground.
"All we're missing is candles and music." He said sarcastically.
"Shut up." Robin blushed. He closed the tent and sat across from him. "Look, right now, we're trying to look for who or what killed Beth. Clementine…thinks it was Shane."
"Shane?" He asked and she responded with a nod. "What makes you think it could be him? He's Rick's lapdog." He laid on her sleeping bag and propped his head up with his arm.
"Please make yourself comfortable." Robin rolled her eyes. "I don't know what made Clementine point at Shane, not even Rick believed her. But I saw Shane storm out of the house then he started cutting himself behind a tree. I tried to help and it ended up getting a knife to my neck. At first I thought Clementine was afraid and didn't like Shane at all, but I'm starting to believe her faster than a beating heart."
Daryl didn't respond to him at first, he was collecting his thoughts in his mind and this made Robin sighed. "You just think we're both insane now, don't you."
"Yeah, pretty much." He smirked and looked at her; she didn't think it was a joke. He stretched his arm to nudge her. "I've seen how Shane works, how he reacts. You have to be careful around him, this place might be driving him fucking nuts."
"Wait so you believe Clementine's story?"
Daryl shrugged and looked up at the top of the tent. "Dale told me this once. When we were looking for Sophia, Rick, Shane, Dale and I. Dale was telling me that Shane pointed the gun at Rick but immediately put it away when Dale saw him. Shane tried to look normal but Dale didn't buy it one bit. I didn't buy it when Dale told me, but now…Shane really has lost it."
"So you're going to help?"
Daryl looked at Robin once more as she got on her knees to await his response.
