Out of all the things in her life, this had to be the hardest to understand. But this wasn't something she could misinterpreted. There was no grey or muddy area, instead it was right in front of her. But the explanation was too absurd. He had been standing before her as a normal looking business man. And the next second, he was this.
Fierce, Beautiful and dangerous.
The markings had come back. The ones from the airport. The ones that she had thought she imaged from being sleep deprived.
Just like that.
And his slightly dull amber eyes now looked like they could light up the dark.
But the markings.
They were so vivid.
So regal.
He opened his mouth to say something and that was when she noticed it. Without hesitation, she reached out and touched them.
Fangs.
Markings and fangs? But it couldn't be.
"Sesshoumaru?"
She hadn't meant to whisper it, but that had been exactly how it had come out. Staring up at the man that she hardly knew, she silently begged for explanation. Not caring how close she was, or how much personal space she was invading, she inched closed to examine him further.
Where there other changes?
His fierce amber eyes followed her gaze as she leaned in to examine him.
He had thought there would be a different reaction.
Perhaps even some screaming.
But instead, there was this.
Something that was far too personal and intimate for him to handle—or his beast. He had felt it the moment she had brushed her finger against his bottom lip to touch his fang. The spark that traveled from his lips to other parts of his body.
Parts that were not supposed to be so drawn to her.
But they were.
And his beast noticed.
It purred in approval and desire.
Did she realize what she was doing? To him? To his body?
The sparks where everywhere.
Did she feel them as well?
One look at her wide eyes, hitched breath and parted lips told him all he needed to know.
She did.
That was all he needed to know.
Damning common sense and logic, Sesshoumaru allowed himself to lose control—just this once.
Slamming his lips on hers, he nearly groaned in ecstasy. The spark that followed was nothing like with the touches. Coursing through his body, it called for more—demanded.
And once more, the miko surprised him.
She had not pulled back, or pushed away. Instead, she had arched her body to his while tangling her fingers in his hair. But it wasn't enough. He needed her closer. Whatever this was, needed them to be closer. Needed for them to be one.
And then it had happened.
She had parted her lips.
Whether that was a mistake or not, he did not know. Or maybe he didn't care. His entire being was on fire and his mind was racing. Something like this had never happened before. Had he been with other women? Yes. But with this? No. There had been lust, but it was not this. No, this was something different entirely. Everything about her tormented him at this moment, tormented and saved him. Her lavender scent and the taste of her moth but nothing short of heaven.
And then there was her Reiki.
It flickered and intensified every single part of his body.
Pulling him in.
Deeper and deeper.
Just when he was going to lose the very last bit of self control, he heard it.
The sound of a vehicle approaching.
"Augh." She had heard it too, and the moan of dismay escaping her lips pleased him. Whatever had just happened was clearly mutual. Taking a step back from her was nothing short of torture, but it had to be done. Especially with who would be here within a minute or so.
"Inu Yasha and Kikyo." He had wanted to explain to her so much more but then whatever this was had occurred. Now, she would have to wait for an explanation. Keeping his eyes on her, he muttered a phrase and just like that, the disguise removed any signs of a youaki.
"Youkai."
And yet again she had managed to figure it out.
"That's why you spoke of it—in our letters."
He could see the realization dawn on her, and the confusion mingled in awe. Both of them so lost in the moment, neither of them moved
"Come"
For now, they would travel back to the card and not raise suspicion. Especially when he had yet to explain everything—or the importance of such information. He needed her to understand why such secrets were important, and he needed her to understand before anyone else found out about what she knew. Opening the passenger door, he watched as she sat down while seeming to be in a cloud of thoughts. Luckily for him, his timing had been nothing short of perfect, for the moment that he sat down in the vehicle and closed the door, the other family vehicle came into sight.
Slowing down beside them, Kikyo rolled down the window with excitement.
"Kagome—We just saw Tokyo Tower!"
Shooting up her head in alarm, Kagome rewarded her sister of a look of surprise.
"Oh, I'm sure that was fun" was all that she had managed to get out before giving both individuals a smile. Then, she turned her gaze to Sesshoumaru with a knowing look.
"We went and saw a shrine temple today."
"A shrine?!" The words had come out far too harshly, and Sesshoumaru had half the mind to growl at his younger brother for the panic that was in his voice. Setting on a glare, Sesshoumaru shot the younger brother a warning glare.
"Yes, little brother—a shrine."
Understanding the warning, Inu Yasha gave them a strained smile and turned his gaze to the road.
"Well, let's all talk about our day at the house."
And with those words, Kikyo and Inu Yasha drove away towards the house.
Somehow, Sesshoumaru knew all too well that neither of them wanted to do such a thing.
