Lyn is sitting in the library beside Jacob as she looks over the note that Alice left them.
"Listen Jacob I do not want you or the wolves to fight. This might seem selfish but I can not bare it if you or the wolves got hurt because of me. So the day of the fight I want you to stay as far away as possible" Lyn says.
"I can't let you risk your life" Jake says.
"It is my battle not yours so please stay away" she says.
Jake stays quiet and she looks at him waiting for his answer.
"Please don't make me" he says.
"Promise me" she says.
"Ok" he mutters.
"No Jacob look me in my eyes and promise" Lyn says.
Jacob raises his head and his eyes are filled with tears as he looks at her.
"I promise to stay away" he says.
Lyn smiles before reaching up placing her hand on his cheek and Jake gasps as he sees an image of her lying on the snow covered field, her eyes wide and her body lifeless. Jake grows angrier and stands up as tears roll down his cheeks.
"What's wrong" she asks?
"You are going to die" he snarls.
"What Jake no I'm not" she says.
"I saw it! I don't know how but your eyes were dead and you were not moving" he yells.
"I'm sure it was just an bad image of what you think will happen" she says.
"Take Nik and run" Jake says.
"I can't leave Emmett and the other vampires like that" Lyn says.
"You and Bella always put your guys trust and belief in them. I will not lose you and if it means going against all of everything I believe in to save you I will" Jake says walking towards the door.
"Jake what does that mean" Lyn asks?
"You'll see" he says and walks out.
That night, Lyn is tucking Nik in bed as she finishes his bedtime story.
"Mommy are we going to die" he asks?
Lyn feels her heart clench at this and shakes her head no before stroking his cheek.
"No we are not baby because we have all of our family and friends to help us" she says.
"I love you mommy" he whispers before closing his eyes.
"I love you too little man" she whispers kissing his cheek as a tear slides down her cheek. She wipes it away and cuts off his light before walking out of the room closing the door behind her.
Emmett appears beside her and she smiles at him as he grasps her hand in his.
"I heard everything" he says.
"Remember our promise" she whispers.
"He remains alive and safe even if we die" Emmett says and she nods before resting her forehead against his as her heart gets heavy.
