The rest of the seemed to drag on. None of her friends were in her class until homeroom at the end of the day again. However, it seemed almost awkward between all of them. Levy's face was red, and Lucy couldn't tell if it was from anger or something else. All Natsu did next to her was twirl his pencil between his fingers, meanwhile Gray was on her other side puckering his lips to hold a pencil in-between his nose and lips. Juvia was doodling on her classwork, Erza was boredly paying attention to the lecture, Gajeel was asleep, and Lucy was just doing her homework. Jellal was still no where to be seen.
When the final bell rang, Lucy literally collapsed into her arms that were folded on her desk. Natsu picked her up by her armpits. "Come on, Sleeping Beauty. Your locker awaits."
Lucy just groaned, but she picked up her books and followed the rest of her friends out the classroom doors. Natsu frowned at her. "You do know that your glasses are crooked, right?"
Lucy shrugged, then yawned shortly afterwards. He just shook his head and bent down his head and fixed them straight. "You alright, Luce? You seem tired."
"Oh really, because I feel like I could take on the whole world." she snapped. That just caused Natsu to chuckle. She waved goodbye to her friends as she walked down the opposite side of the school to get to her locker. Natsu jogged after her. "Hey Luce, what's up? Fretting over your cousins?"
"Meh," Lucy said giggling. "I can take them. You see, I was up all night learning karate-"
Natsu raised his eye at her. She rolled her eyes. "Okay I was watching a karate movie marathon. Happy?"
"Actually no. How long did you stay up?" Natsu pressed, opening her locker for her. She didn't respond, but just watched him spin her three numbers and open the metal door. Her heart dropped. "You know my combo. Natsu, were you the one who put pig guts in my locker freshman year during the pig dysectimy?"
He didn't reply, just shoved her books in her locker, grabbed coat and book bag, and quickly shut the locker door. He looked at her, his eyes filled with guilt. Her heart swelled as she stared at the tiled floor. Natsu lifted her chin with his finger. "I was a freshman, Luce. Cut me some slack."
Lucy sighed as he gave the mint book bag to her. She lazily pushed her arms through the arm holes of her coat and swung her bag on her shoulder. Natsu put his arm around her shoulders, sighing. He peeked at her through his closed eyes to see her playing with a locket he's never seen before. As the left through the school gates, his curiosity got the best of him. The arm that was around her shoulder snaked down and gently grabbed the locket from her fingers. Lucy just watched.
It was a small heart shaped locket, a deep red gem was incrusted in the center. He knew the locket a little too well. "I gave this to you…for your fifth birthday. I remember you asking why the gem was red."
Lucy laughed. "You told me it reminded you of blood. It totally freaked me out, too."
Natsu looked at her. "Did you ever put a picture in it?"
Lucy grabbed the locket back slowly and tucked it back under her shirt. "No."
Natsu felt a stab of sadness roll over him. Then, it was gone. When they got to his house, Lucy felt nervous. Sure, she was here when no one was home more than enough times, but this was different. The last time her and Natsu were alone in his house they were six. He unlocked the door and she nervously entered. When he shut the door behind them, she jumped. Natsu started to chuckle. "Nervous?"
Lucy didn't respond. Natsu wrapped his arms around her from behind. "You shouldn't be. You were here last week."
"I was babysitting." Lucy said, matter-of-factly. "It's different."
Natsu smiled. "Then act like you're babysitting me."
"That's weird."
He kissed her neck. "You're weird everyday."
She broke away from him. "Good point."
She walked up the stairs, her fingertips on the wooden railing. She followed the swirled design as she went up the carpeted stairs. When she walked up to a small hallway, she opened the left door she knew was Wendy's. It was different from what she expected. Last time it was pink. Pink everything. Now it was blue. She smiled as she walked around the room, looking over her stuffed animal collection, her pictures on her walls, the dragon bedspread. Lucy sweat dropped. Dragon loving was a Dragoneel tradition. She exited the room and went to the one directly across from it. She stood in the center of it and a small smile spread across her face. A voice came from the door. "I'm surprised you remembered where this place was."
She looked at Natsu and smiled bigger. "How can I forget? We spent every waking hour in here."
She glanced around the game room, that was now equipped with devices now. The room was split now, one side was were she pretty much grew up, filled with kid toys, tea sets, tiny furniture. The other side had black leather couches that were surrounded around the large TV that was against the wall. Natsu walked up to her. "All I can remember is playing house."
Lucy rolled her eyes. "It wasn't really house if you were a dragon every time. I believe you even licked me once, too."
Natsu's chin fell on the top of her head. "You had peanut butter on your cheek. There was no way I was going to let that pass. And besides, dragons can't use napkins. Or talk."
She turned to him. "Show me your room. It's not in the same room anymore."
He was hesitant, but then grabbed her wrist and gently pulled her to the room all the way at the end of the hallway. She walked in and was shocked. It was clean, for one, and it wasn't childish like she last saw it. His walls were red, his floor was wooden, his bed had a black bedspread. There wasn't dragons everywhere. Except one place. There was still a drawing hung up on his wall of a very poor drawn dragon, flying with a princess on his back. Lucy started laughing. "I thought I told you to burn that."
Natsu shrugged. "I liked it. Besides, you're the princess, see? And the dragon with salmon hair is me."
Lucy knew this. She drew it with him when she was younger. She glanced at him. "I didn't think you would've kept it."
Natsu shrugged and pulled her back downstairs. He dragged her to the kitchen and sat her on the kitchen counter. "Would you like a drink, Princess?"
"Oh, here we go." Lucy giggled. "Yes, actually, water please. Thank you."
He gave her a glass of water seconds later, she watched the ice cubes float around. He gave her another, 'Your weird' looks and walked over to the table to put away the pitcher. Lucy took a small sip, but the water went down the wrong pipe. She coughed, spilling the water on her pale pink shirt. Natsu looked at her and started laughing. Lucy's face flustered red and she crossed her arms. "K-Knock it off!"
Natsu smirked, fiddling with the bottom of her shirt. "I turn around for a second and you manage to get yourself wet."
Lucy glared at him, her face beating red. She was generally shocked when Natsu pulled his shirt over his head, exposing his hard built body, and handed it to her. She blinked at it. He smirked and threw it at her. "Go on. I don't want you yelling at me for allowing you to get a cold later."
She crossed her arms. "T-Turn around."
He sighed and turned around, his back facing her. "Happy?"
Lucy nodded. "Yes, actually."
She quickly threw off her shirt and slipped his on. It was a little big, but it was warm. She was about to acknowledge him to turn around, but she spotted a tattoo at the top of his shoulder blade. It was a black dragon. Her hand reached out and touched it. When her palm pressed against his skin, he jumped and quickly spun around. Her hand was still levitating from the sudden motion. He grabbed it silently. Lucy was looking at him in confusion. He didn't say anything, just pulled her closer using her hand and gently slamming his lips against hers.
Her hands slowly cupped his face while his slid around her waist, underneath his shirt. The kiss started gentle, passionate, wanting, but it soon changed into deep desire. She hadn't even noticed they were laying on the kitchen counter, Natsu on top of her, until Grandeeney walked through the kitchen archway, groceries in her hands. She dropped her bags and blinked at the two. "Oh…"
The two pulled away and quickly looked at the red faced woman. Natsu sat up while Lucy quickly followed. The blue haired woman smiled at the two. "S-Sorry for disturbing…I'll just go in the living room…"
As she bolted in the other room, Lucy swore she heard a squeal from the woman. Lucy barely even noticed how out of breath she was until she actually heard herself breathing hard. She looked over at Natsu who just shrugged. He was also breathing hard. His arms wrapped around her waist and she was pulled into his chest. She elbowed him. "Shouldn't we get off the counter?"
Natsu shrugged. "I'm comfortable. Besides, if we leave the kitchen, we'd most likely hear my mother fan girling or what ever you girls do."
Lucy gave a pout. "Why would your mom be-"
"She made a bet with my father when we were young this would happen. I believe my mom has won a trip to the beach." Natsu said, kissing her neck. Lucy closed her eyes. "Wouldn't you rather have a shirt on?"
His chest vibrated as he chuckled. His nose buried into her hair. "Hmm, no I think I'm fine. Why, does this make you uncomfortable, Princess?"
She was about to answer when the front door opened and a male voice started talking. "Deen? What do you mean you won? What was so important for me to leave work?"
Natsu groaned, closing his eyes and gently banging his forehead on Lucy's head. Lucy started to giggle.
