Irene POV
I was in the cafeteria after classes eating fried potatoes and meat while studying, some after class brushing up. Thankfully the classes are getting more understandable, not sure if its from me studying or the material getting easier but eaither way it going better then before.
I was alone at the table until my friends joined me with their own food, going with the standards of each country.
"Hey Irene have you heard the News" Asked Ciel as he was stirring his tea.
I shook my head, I sont listen to the news ever since i came to this academy, the lessons and piloting didn't realy alow me to do that.
"well then let me inform you, apparently last night some terrorist organization attacked a storage house in Germany, they killed alot of soldiers and guards. they stole something yet to be identified and put the rest of it on fire" he finished.
"What this is the First i heard of it" Michael shouted.
"They probably didnt want to worry you with things you couldn't do anything about since you are here in the academy" Hagashi answered calmly as he swallowed some pork.
"Indeed, the only thing that is known about them is the name of the organization which is phantom pain"
Charles nodded in agreement "They are very well hidden, I heared that not even the best hackers can track their HQ or communication"
I couldn't help but laugh at this a little "Well they obviously didn't have Tabane-nee try and hack them, there is literally no one better then her"
"Yeah well the thing about my sister is that while it mat be a bit of a challenge to her she doesn't find them amusing, so she doesn't care" Hagashi didnt seem amused either.
"Yeah well if they try anything in China they will be stopped by our superior forces" Ren hufed with a grin, he sure is confident in his own country.
"Wouldn't it be better if all the countrys and states combined their efforts and resources to take them out as quick as possible" they sound like a problem if they are able to do something like that to Germany.
"Thats a nice ideal Irene but why do you think the countrys are still devided into like Germany, FranceItaly and the like, its because people just cant or dont want to unite unless they have something to gain from it" Charles explained.
"But.." I cant come up with a counter comment.
"O Hello there fellow students" came a voice from besides the table, it was Takeshi Sarashiki how and when did he get here.
"who are you" all of the boys asked in unison.
"Ill let Irene introduce me" he moved behind my chair and waited for me to introduce him.
"umm well.. this is the student council president Takeshi Sarashiki" I turned around to see him nodding.
"Indeed good job Irene Orimura, i did seem to have accidentally overheard your conversation and while your information is correct it is also outdated, I already know what it is Phantom pain stole from the German storage house"
The boys seemed to be irked yet curious at the same time.
"it is..." dramatic pause "an IS core"
We all gasped in surprise. An IS core stolen, this is definitely not something to be trifled with.
I wish i had the power to change something, but as of right now im just a student. But one day I will make a difference.
"But how we have among the best security in the world" Michael argued rather loudly.
"Not good enough kid, these guys mean serious business and so far they have been getting everything they were after, this certainly isnt the first and I doubt the last crime they will commit"
I wonder what they are planning to do with that IS core, if they use it in an IS it coule be tracked maybe they want to use it as a power source for something else.
All the guys seem to be in deep thought as well, they're probably as concerned as I am if not more.
"Ah I lost my appetite " Pushing my food away I give it to them, they can sort it out.
"So what are we going to do now" I asked in.
"Well we could go to the arcade the Academy build for stress relief" suggested Takeshi as he still stood behind me.
Everyone nodded, their mouths full with the food I couldnt eat, damn they are some fast eaters.
Once they actually gulped the food down we got up and made our way to the arcade with Takeshi in the lead as he was the only one who knew the way.
The Guys were talking about some IS related stuff, some parts and weapons and thrusters or something, I wasnt really listening since my mind was focused on something else.
Once we got in arcade we saw how truly big it was, like at least 4 times as big as the ones you would see in the malls.
The walls were all black with rows of oldschool platforms, pacman, alien invasion, street fighter and the like. There was a giant clock on the ceiling, I guess it was there to make sure students never lose track of time while having fun.
I know that once happened to me and Chifuyu scolded me really bad for staying out so late without even a call.
We all stared in awe at the sight it was truly well made and beautiful.
Takeshi was the first one to get out of the stupor "Well then Guys and Irene how's ready for some fun"
With that everyone raced to what they wanted to play most.
Ciel and Michael compete in a two player shooting game. A sniper vs a trained soldier i wondered who would gwt the higher score and it went just as you would expect with Michael not even losing a single life while Ciel tried his best to keep up.
"Tough luck brit"
"your just lucky it isnt my day"
On the other side Ren was racing some other student on motorcycles, they boh left the AI in the dust and were racing neck to neck each move could decide the winner. Of course we cheered for Ren to win and he did as the other guy trying to use a shortcut but hit a tree along the way.
"thats what you get for trying something like that" Ren shouted in victory.
Charles and Hagashi played some street fighter against one another and one would always win with just a sliver of HP left. I of course cheered for both of them while the other guys shouted what they should do to win.
"Oh come on that was bullshit my move hit first" Hagashi yelled as the last round ended in his loss
"being a sore loser now arent you" Charles chuckled
Im glad they are all having fun and i must say there is one game I really want to play.
We walked about looking for any other games we might like to play and then we stumbled upon it dance dance revolution.
This was the game the best game ever and no one could convince me otherwise not even Chifuyu-nee.
"I want to play this" tthe words escaped from my mouth as soon as we saw it.
Stepping on the platform i felt it wasnt smooth it had a good grip which means not a lot of people actually played it, I am going to set a highscore that will stay undefeated for as long this machine works.
As I started to stretch out I notice that Takeshi stepped on the platform next to mine and was grinning like a madman.
"you think you can take me on Mr. student council president" My voice is full of confidence, this is one thing i know im very good at so i believe i have the right to be a bit cocky
"ppfffff i know i can take you on Miss Orimura" his voice was confident too but i know he cant really beat me, not at this game at least.
Takeshi put the coin in the machine and and the screens started to flash.
"Are you ready dancers" the game shouted "lets go"
The game started rather slow but started to pick up speed as we both got perfect scores on steps. The moves were not unfamiliar to me as I did put a lot of effort into this game.
As the two of us danced i noticed a crowd gather around us from the corner of my eyes but i didnt care as all of my attention was on the game.
What i did notice though is that Takeshi, even though he kept up more then i thought he would, was starting to slip. His foot work was either a bit to fest or just a tad to slow which wasnt giving him the max points and I started taking the lead.
Sweat started dripping down our forheads and as the game was getting faster and faster, the song changed frequently and our bodys began to tire. But we kept on dancing, the difference was getting bigger and bigger until Takeshi spoke.
"Thats it im out... I can run for hours... without stop... but this game man..." his ragged breathing only proving my dominance in this game.
But I didnt stop just because i know i won i want to set the highest score that will ever be recorded in this game.
As I danced and got perfect after perfect on every move i started to feel exhausted but I forced mself to keep going. All the music and sounds from the crowd started to blur as i began to run out of breath.
My legs got slower and my moves sloppy, I could barely keep myself on my feet anymore. Running out of energy i fell on my knees, my sweat covering the platform. I looked up and what i saw braught a smile to my face, a nice big fat 1130009 on the top of the highscores.
I felt my friends Hands on me as they tried to pull me up to my feet but i couldnt stand, I needed to sit down and rest after this awesome game.
"Irene you were amazing" Hagashi shouted but it was still a little fuzzy in my ear.
"you were like glowing Irene it was aweosme" said Ren as he jumped and cheered.
"An outstanding performance" Michaels soldier speach didnt even seem weird right now.
"Irene you killed it" Charles patted me on the shoulder.
"Damn Irene you really are better then what I gave you cradit for" Takeshi had a grin on his face, i think he didnt want to admit that I outdid him by a landslide.
"Not the formal moves in used to but beautiful dance nonetheless" Ciel and his royalhood always showing.
I want to thank all of them for the compliments and for the cheering but im just to exhausted for anything, and good thing i was dancing too cause this is the only time im used to attracting a crowd.
Damn now that i notice it there really are alot of people, and they were all cheering for me.
"Water" i barely was able to say between the deep breathes i was taking.
Takeshi was kind enough to give me his water bottle which i thanked him for.
After that we left the arcade and went to our rooms and the guys just kept complimenting me on my dance. I dont know if my face was red from the game or from emberesment, no one ever complimented me after the dancing this much, im not used to it.
CHIFUYU POV
Im patrolling the floor making sure all of the students were in their rightful room and no one was out during curfew.
I went to the arcade as students usually stay there and lose track of time even though they have a giant freaking clock above their head.
I checked every corner of the room and it was empty, only the noises of the games could be heard.
As i walked around I saw the highscores of the dance dance revolution game and boy was it high, Irene must have finally found the aracde then.
I couldnt help but smile since I knew my imuoto had fun and crushed any competition, But as her onee chan I had to prove her wrong.
Putting the coin in the machine it sprung to life I was ready to take Irene on anytime, but i think im gonna leave her in the shadows and let he guess who could be better then her.
The music played I didnt really dance, I cant dance like my imuoto can but why i did have is amazing footwork and thats exactly what i used to beat Irene in this game. Although ill br nice and just beat her by 1 point.
And with the new Highscore set im back to patrolling, now i just have to wait for Irene to see that some is better at it then her. I love messing with her sometimes.
