Welcome to the fight club, where our team of scientists, doctors and weapons experts are embarking on a quest to find the deadliest assassin. The question: if Altair fought Ra's Al Ghul, who would win?

"These men are both highly trained and lethal in every way." Said Zivon "Whoever wins this match, it'll be a close one."
ER doctor and historian DeadAliveManiac will reveal whether the injuries sustained are lethal or not.
"Every weapon in both these men's arsenals are designed for one purpose: to quickly cut someone down." Said DAM.
Computer whiz Scarecrow'sMainFan will collect all the data and input it into a computer program that will determine the winner.
"Ra's Al Ghul and Altair are two of the most feared assassins ever conceived," said Scarecrow "but in the end, only one will survive.
The computer will generate a blow by blow battle to the death between these two men. The winner will be crowned The Deadliest Warrior!
A tall, lean brunette woman in similar dress to Ra's picked up a curved blade and executed a series of swings.
Fighting for Ra's Al Ghul is his daughter Talia Al Ghul. A master of Assassin combat herself, Talia was taught everything she knows by her father.
"My father has a dream," said Talia in her accented voice. "A dream to purge the world of evil and corruption by any means necessary."
No one knows just how old the man calling himself Ra's Al Ghul is, but what is known is that he has lived for centuries through the power of the Lazarus Pit.
"The Lazarus Pit granted my father eternal youth, his power restored with every use." Said Talia "In his long life, he has seen some of the worst of humanity and has even fought in some of its worst wars."
Taking up the mantle of Ra's Al Ghul, meaning "The Demon's Head" in Arabic, he formed the League of Assassins. Their goal: wipe out the corruption of humanity, rebuild the world in his image.
"Ra's will see Altair as just another killer," Talia explained "He will slit his throat and sleep peacefully that night."
Talia is confident in her father's victory, but what about the other side?
A young man with short, brown hair in a white hoodie strapped a hidden blade to his arm and extended the blade.
A direct descendant of Altair himself, Desmond Miles will carry the flag for his ancestor, having learned all his techniques by living his life.
"Altair was one of the best of his order." Said Desmond "A master Assassin of no equal. This pretender will be no trouble."
Born in twelfth century Syria during the crusades, Altair rose through the ranks of the Assassin Order, quickly becoming a Master Assassin. But this rank would not last.
"Altair failed a critical mission, costing the lives of his brothers in arms." Desmond explained. "After his failure, he needed to redeem himself."
Stripped of his honour and demoted to the rank of novice, Altair was given a task: kill nine individuals throughout the Holy Land and have his honour restored, and throughout the next years, the corrupt would taste Altair's blade.
"Ra's Al Ghul is a monster," said Desmond "Altair would see it as his duty to rid the world of such a killer."
Desmond believes Altair will defeat the immortal Assassin, but Ra's Al Ghul will attack first with a sword of Persian descent:
The Scimitar

A sword used all across the Arab world.
"My father carried one of these on his person at all times." Said Talia "He was a master swordsman, so he could cut apart an enemy with ease with this blade."
"Now I notice," began DAM "that despite the Arabic name your father carries, this is the only real Middle Eastern weapon we're testing today, why is that?"
"My father has been all over the world," Talia replied "When he went to Japan, he saw the effectiveness of the weapons there so he adopted them, but kept this sword as well as his personal blade."
"Well we're going to find out just how effective the Scimitar is." Said Zivon "Over here we have a pig carcass, the same density and viscosity as real human flesh and bone, so this is essentially like cutting through a person. I've marked the target in three places for a hack, a stab and a slash. Also to make things a little more difficult, I've covered the target in Altair's leather armour."
Talia stepped up to the target and readied the blade.
"Talia, you ready?" called Zivon.
"Ready!"
"On three, two, one, go!"
Talia hacked at the marked section just beneath the armour, cutting deep into the meat before drawing back for a stab just under the chest piece, the blade stabbing right through the ribs with a bit of effort. She then drew the blade back for a slash at the neck, managing to cut the head clean off the pig before sheathing her blade in one fluid motion and walking away.
"Wow." Said DAM "This guy is dead three times over. Every attack would have hit something vital, the guts for a mortal wound, the heart and neck for instant kills."
"That's a pretty big blade as well," said Scarecrow "So the fact that you can swing it that quickly says something about you as well."
"That's one of the beautiful things about this weapon," said Talia "It's not nearly as heavy as it looks, making it efficient but also intimidating."
"That wouldn't scare Altair." Desmond replied "If you waste time trying to scare him, he'll cut you to pieces with his own sword."

"Altair was a master with this sword." Explained Desmond "He can kill fully armoured knights with this blade alone."
"Now this is a lighter blade than the Scimitar," said Scarecrow "but it's also longer and thinner, so it'll be faster on the attack than the Scimitar."
"Bring me a target," said Desmond "and I'll show you what it can do."
Desmond will be put to the same test as Talia: a marked pig carcass simulating an enemy warrior, dressed in Ra's Al Ghul's leather armour.
"Desmond, are you ready?" called Zivon.
"Ready!"
"On three, two, one, go!"
Desmond first jammed the blade right through the marked stab section, seemingly much easier than Talia. He then drew it back and hacked at the second marked section before slashing at the third, cutting the head right off. "Done."
DAM took one look at the carcass and said "Is there anything I can say here that wasn't said before? Guts are spilled, heart is stabbed and the throat is cut. He's dead."
"I'll say one thing," said Scarecrow "I noticed it didn't seem as difficult for you to stab through the guy with that sword."
"It's a thinner blade, but it still has the curve," said Desmond "so yeah, it was easier to stab, but this thing is still way better for slashing."
So which weapon will get the edge? Our experts stand divided.
"Honestly, the Sabre is superior in my eye." Said Scarecrow "It's got that extra length and it's lighter and faster. I see that as making it more lethal."
"I disagree," DAM countered "I see these swords as being too similar to give any real edge to."
"I think I have to agree with the doctor." Zivon concluded "The blades are so similar that I don't think I can give an edge. The Sabre is slightly longer and faster, but the heavier scimitar can give more power in the cut. Edge even."
For close range weapons, the edge is even.

"Quick, concealable and easy to use." Said Desmond "Altair could carry one of these at all times and then pull it out and plant it in someone's heart or throat."
To test the effectiveness of the Khanjar, Desmond will attack a ballistics gel torso, mimicking the density and viscosity of real human flesh and bone.
"Desmond , are you ready?" called Zivon.
"Ready."
"On three, two, one, kill it!"
Desmond jammed the blade into the side of the neck, drew it out and then stabbed right into the ribcage. He then pulled back one last time and cut the target across the throat. "I think that's enough."
DAM looked over the target. "First strike severed the carotid artery, that's a kill shot, the second went through the heart, and cutting the throat severed the windpipe and the jugular. This guy's not in a good place."
"This weapon is fast and Altair pretty much sleeps with one of these under his pillow." Said Desmond "He's been using knives like this since he was a kid, how is Ra's going to compare?"
"He'll compare with a weapon he's used for hundreds of years." Talia countered "Allow me to demonstrate."
Ra's Al Ghul will counter the Khanjar with his own weapons designed for versatility and lethality:
The Sai
Length: 19"

Material: Carbon Steel
Three pronged killers of Japanese origin.
"The Sai are superior to the Khanjar in that they are multi-functional." Said Talia "You can attack with the blunt end, catch weapons and force them down and use them to disarm an enemy before stabbing him with the pointed end." As Talia spoke she demonstrated the techniques used with the Sai.
"Wow." Said Zivon "I don't even want to go near you with those things."
"Give me a target," Talia replied "and I'll show you just what you have to fear."
Talia will be put to the same test as Desmond: attacking a ballistics gel torso.
"Talia, you ready?" called Zivon.
"Ready."
"On three, two, one, stab it!"
Talia struck with her right Sai first, jamming it into the target's left chest before – in one motion – retracting it and stabbing with the left into the throat. She then used the right to hit the gut, the left to hit the other side of the chest, and to finish it off, she jammed the right Sai into the target's left eye and left it there as she walked away.
DAM shook his head as he approached. "This just goes to show you why it's sometimes a good idea to have two weapons. You have an incapacitating shot to the gut, dropped both lungs and the heart, punctured the windpipe and went through the eye into the brain."
"Are you kidding?" said Desmond "You might have two weapons, but each one has only one use. My knife can stab just as well as yours and also slash. All you can do is stab."
"But I have two." Tali countered "And remember, these are used to disarm as well as to kill."
"I have to agree with Talia here." Said Scarecrow "The Sai might not be able to cut, but their ability to disarm an enemy and then kill him gives them my edge."
For mid range weapons, the edge goes to Ra's Al Ghul for the Sai.
The battle, however, isn't over yet, as both sides now unveil their long range weapons: their fluing blades of death. Ra's Al Ghul attacks with
Shuriken

Japanese throwing stars, as sharp as scalpels.
Talia held several shuriken in her hand and began throwing them at a paper target as she spoke. "The shuriken," she said, throwing a star into the target's neck. "Used by Japanese Ninja," star to the chest "to kill" to the face "at a distance."
"They're certainly accurate." Said Scarecrow "But how much damage can they do?"
"Each of these heads is sharpened to match a surgeon's knife and they will always hit blade first." Talia explained.
To see just how much damage the Shuriken can do, Talia will be given four shuriken to throw at a pig carcass.
"Alright Talia," said Zivon "Whenever you're ready, throw them."
Talia nodded and readied her first Shuriken, throwing it overhand into the chest of the pig, sticking there. She threw her second, the blades spinning through the air and into the pig's neck. Her next throw nailed it right in the gut and her final one went right into the ribcage. "Done."
DAM began removing the Shuriken, but as he took them out, he began to realize a problem. "You only have one instant kill here." He said as he held up a star. "The blades here just aren't long enough to hit anything significant aside from this neck shot where you hit the jugular. This is a killshoy, the rest just hurt."
"Now allow me to show you a real throwing weapon." Said Desmond "Altair would start a battle at a distance by throwing one of these."
Throwing Knives

Larger than the Shuriken, and Desmond claims they're deadlier.
"Altair could carry a ton of these on him at any time." Said Desmond "He could carry them in a bandolier, or simply have some tucked into his boots. He'd pull one out and toss it right at an enemy to kill him or at the very least slow him down enough to finish him off."
To test the throwing knives, Desmond will be put to the same test as Talia: four knives, and one ballistics gel torso.
"Whenever you're ready Desmond," said Zivon "throw away."
Desmond grabbed his first knife and tossed it overhand into the pig's chest. His second shot also landed in the chest. Third hit right in the gut, and Desmond's final knife found its mark right in the neck. "I'm done."
DAM removed one of the knives from the body. "They may have flown slower because of their size, but the damage here speaks for itself. These are all either kill shots or mortal wounds."
"Based on the damage done here, I think we know what gets the edge here." Said Scarecrow "The Shuriken might be faster, but it'll take a perfect shot to the neck to be lethal, whereas the knives will do damage wherever they hit."
"Not only that," added Zivon "But Altair and his Assassins are wearing armour, so the Shuriken is even less likely to kill. Edge Throwing Knives."
For long range weapons, Altair takes the edge with the Throwing Knives.
The battle is nearly ready to begin, but each side has one more weapon to test. In each fight, both sides bring a special weapon to the table, and for Ra's Al Ghul, that weapon was
The Ninjato
Length: 37"
Weight: 2lbs
Material: Carbon Steel
The signature weapon of the ninja.
Talia unsheathed the blade and showed it to the hosts. "Lightning fast and completely lethal." She said, giving a few practice swings. "This will cut an enemy down to size or run him through to end his miserable life."
To test the speed and lethality of the Ninjato, Talia will quickly draw the blade and have one strike against each of the three blood filled foam torsos around her, simulating attacking enemies.
"Talia, are you ready?" called Zivon.
"Ready!"
"On three, two, one, kill them all!"
Talia quickly drew the blade, cutting into the neck and face of the closest torso, spilling stage blood. Talia then spun around and cut across the throat of the second target before jamming the blade into the chest of the third. She then removed the blade and wiped the blood on the shoulder of one of the torsos before sheathing it and walking off.
DAM looked over the carnage. "First strike cut his throat and jaw in under a second, he'll fall to the ground clutching that before he dies. Second shot did the same thing, cutting through all the major vessels in the neck, instant kill. The final stab went directly into the heart, hitting the off switch on this guy."
"Not a bad show Talia" said Scarecrow "Let's see what Altair brings to the table."
After reviewing the footage of the previous hidden blade tests, the team has come to a conclusion.
"The Hidden Blade gives the option of extreme stealth since the enemy doesn't even see it until they're dead." Said DAM "That being said, the Ninjato has a longer reach and it can lop off limbs in one swing. I give it to Ra's Al Ghul."
"I have to disagree." Said Zivon "The Hidden Blade doesn't require as much room to attack and with a flick of the wrist can send a blade into your neck."
"Each one has its strengths," said Scarecrow "The hidden blade is meant for extreme close combat so it's faster but shorter, whereas the Ninjato is longer and does more damage when it hits. It's close, but I think I'll have to call it even."
For special weapons, the edge is even.
The time has come for these two legends in the shadows to meet on the battlefield and settle once and for all who is the deadliest warrior?
Our team tested the arsenals of both of these Assassins.
They tested four weapons of the Master Assassin Altair:
The Syrian Sabre, Khanjar, Throwing Knives and the Hidden Blade.
They were tested against the arsenal of rogue assassin Ra's Al Ghul:
The Scimitar, Sai, Shuriken, and Ninjato.
In long range weapons, Altair's Throwing Knife bested Ra's Al Ghul's Shuriken.
"The Shuriken might be faster," said Zivon "But the Throwing Knife hit harder and actually killed."
Edge: Altair
For Close Range weapons, the Syrian Sabre and the Scimitar were equally matched.
"The Sabre might have been faster," said Scarecrow "But the Scimitar hits harder with its extra weight, in my opinion, the strengths of both sides cancel each other out."
Edge: Even
At medium range, Altair's Khanjar was stabbed by Ra's Al Ghul's Sai.
"The Sai are more adaptable," said DAM "there's just so much more you can do with them, and Ra's has two of them on him."
Edge: Ra's Al Ghul
Finally, for special weapons, Altair's Hidden Blade and Ra's Al Ghul's Ninjato were dead even.
"The Ninjato is more powerful," said Scarecrow "but the hidden blade is faster and doesn't need as much room. These weapons are both effective in completely different ways."

With the data all collected, Scarecrow'sMainFan will enter all the data into the battle simulation software to simulate a five on five battle to the death between these two legendary assassins. Ra's Al Ghul and five of his ninjas vs Altair and five of his Assassins.

It's a busy day in a Syrian marketplace as people bustle about, buying food and other commodities before taking them back to their homes.
Little do they know that two groups of highly trained killers are hunting each other.
The Master Assassin Altair has spread four of his men and himself around the market, the white hooded men on the lookout for their targets. Their objective: eliminate a group of mad radicals who have turned away from the Creed.

Meanwhile, Ra's Al Ghul has also entered the city, five of his Ninjas in tow. They are here for one reason and one alone: Ra's gave the local Assassins a chance to join him. Now that they had refused, they needed to be eliminated.

Altair, standing in a crowd of Syrian citizens, closes his eyes, opening them with a yellow glow to them, having activated his Eagle Vision. He looks around the crowds around him, finally spotting who he is looking for. By a fruit cart surrounded by people is a man tinged with red in his vision. Altair, now knowing where his target is, begins to walk towards him. He sees it is a man garbed in black, carrying a sword at his belt and a set of daggers at his belt.
The Assassin walks into the crowd and as he passes the man, stabs him in the heart with his Hidden Blade, sending him to the floor as the crowd backs away in panic.

Another Assassin watches from a nearby market stand, smirking as his master kills the marked man.
His smirk, however, soon becomes a look of terror as a Ninja slits his throat while the crowd is focused on the other murder. He runs away as soon as the crowd sees the blood spraying from the fresh corpse.

The Ninja continues to run after his last kill until a knife embeds itself in his left leg, sending him to the floor as an Assassin leaps on him, Khanjar drawn, driving the knife into the back of his skull.

His victory is short lived as Ra's Al Ghul himself approaches and beheads him with a swing of his scimitar.

Another Assassin watches his brother fall before charging at Ra's, Sabre drawn.
Ra's spins around and lobs three Shuriken at the Syrian, two bouncing off his armour and one hitting his shoulder. This slows the Assassin long enough to allow Ra's to go on the offensive, swinging his sword at the hooded warrior who is just able to block the attacks until he feels a stinging pain in his gut.
Looking down, the Assassin sees that Ra's has stabbed him with one of his Sai. He stumbles back in pain as Ra's approaches to finish him off with a cut to the throat.

Ra's Al Ghul: III
The Demon's Head approaches the body and retrieves his Sai before sheathing it and walking off.
Meanwhile, another Ninja walks through the market, searching for the leader of these so-called Assassins. He looks up to see a figure on a rooftop, but before he can investigate, he hears something on the flagstones behind him.
He leaps out of the way just as an Assassin is about to stab him with a Khanjar.
The Ninja draws his Ninjato as the Assassin takes out his Sabre and the two prepare for battle. They circle each other, their eyes never breaking contact, waiting for the other to make the first move.
In the end, the Ninja strikes first, swinging for the Assassin's arm, but the Syrian blocks the attack and returns it with his Sabre just as the ninja leaps out of the way. The Assassin runs to meet him, but the ninja tosses a shuriken that deflects off the Assassin's armour. As the Syrian closes in, he swings with his Sabre, cutting deep into the Ninja's shoulder before kicking him off his blade.

The Assassin continues walking until he feels a sharp pain in his back, a Shuriken tossed by a charging Ninja. The Assassin spins around to meet him, blocking his first Ninjato strike with his Sabre and attacking with his Hidden Blade. The Ninja dodges out of the way before using a leg sweep to knock the Assassin off his feet.
As the Assassin hits the ground, the Ninja raises his blade and drives it through the Assassin's heart, ending his life swiftly.

Meanwhile, Altair runs across the rooftops of the city, arriving just in time to watch his last man be killed.
Angered, he charges across the rooftops, leaping off the last one to drive his Hidden Blade into the skull of the last Ninja.

Ra's Al Ghul: I
As Altair removes his blade from the Ninja's skull, he hears a slow, mocking clapping. He turns to see an elderly looking man, a scimitar sheathed at his belt and a cruel smile on his face as he claps.
Altair glares at him from under his hood and draws his Sabre, a clear challenge to the other man who draws his Scimitar in response.
Ra's Al Ghul could tell this man was angered beneath his hood, and it wasn't helped when he spoke. "I gave you a chance to join me."
Altair didn't respond, his silence enraging the demon's head who charged at him, swinging his sword. Altair parried the attack and swung his own blade which Ra's blocked before he came back with a stab that the Assassin knocked aside, spinning around to slash at the radical's throat. Ra's leapt back, but quickly attacked again, slashing at Altair's neck. Altair dropped to the ground and rolled away from his opponent, rising to his feet just in time to dodge a slash from the Ra's scimitar that embedded its blade in the ground.
Altair rose to his feet and kicked Ra's away from his sword. Ra's rose to his feet and drew his Sais, waiting for Altair to attack him.
The follower of the Creed charged, sword raised for the kill, slashing down at the Demon's Head, but Ra's caught the blade with his Sais and jerked it away from Altair. Altiar jumped back before Ra's could stab him and stood at the ready with his Hidden Blade.
Ra's attacked first, but Altair got out of the way and attacked with a stab from his Hidden Blade that Ra's dodged before stabbing with his left Sai into Altair's side. The Master Assassin grimaced in pain but did not falter in his attack, striking at the radical again, hitting Ra's in the shoulder. Ra's spat in Altair's face, momentarily blinding him as he attacked again. Altair managed to move out of the way and stab with his Hidden Blade again, stabbing right at his opponent's face, but Ra's caught the attack with one of his Sai, and kicked the Master Assassin right in his manhood. Altair stumbled over in pain, but he didn't feel it for long as Ra's drove his other Sai right into his throat.
Altair coughed up blood before his vision started to go dark and he fell to the ground. Ra's Al Ghul shook his head before walking away to retrieve his Scimitar.
Winner: Ra's Al Ghul
"It was a close battle, but Ra's Al Ghul managed to win this time." Said Scarecrow "The battle was close since these warriors and their weapons were so similar."
Ra's Al Ghul managed to win 513 to Altair's 487. The kill counts were close with the lack of kills in Ra's Al Ghul's Shuriken being made up for with his Sais.

"This was a close battle," said DAM "but in the end, Ra's was just that much further ahead and managed to beat Altair. He'll be back at Batman's throat in no time."
"I can't believe it." Muttered Desmond "Someone managed to beat Altair, a man who could kill even in his latest years."
"My father holds dear his vision for the new world." Said Talia in her accent "Altair was not a part of that vision, and now he has been removed."
Ra's Al Ghul climbs the mountain to the Assassin headquarters at Masyaf, Altair's hidden blade mounted on his arm.

Just a couple of announcements for the end of the chapter:
First of all, there will likely only be a few more battles for this season before I begin the next one. I'll post the matches for that at the end of the last battle of this season.
Second, now that I have a decent sized amount of matchups under my online belt, I'm going to do an aftermath chapter. Should you have any questions about any matchup in this story (or any of my other stories) ask in a review or a PM. If I get enough, I'll devote a whole chapter to them, if not, I'll answer them at the end of the next chapter.
Finally, I'm thinking of writing another story, but I only have enough time in my schedule to write one of them. Out of the two ideas I have, I can't pick which one I like more. I thought maybe you guys could let me know what you think I should write.
Idea number 1: A crossover of Dragon Age and Game of Thrones, intertwining events from both series. The Blight rages in Ferelden and they call to Westeros for aid as those in Westeros are at each others' throats. How will they survive?
Idea Number 2: A crossover of Batman and Assassin's Creed. A new breed of criminal seems to be emerging in Gotham city as bodies turn up, all of them cleanly killed criminals. The Dark Knight begins to investigate these killings himself.
