It was the night of Caitlin's bachelorette party. They had reserved a room in one of the finest clubs in the city to celebrate their friend. Her bridesmaids included Ava Sharpe, Sara Lance, Iris West, Helena Bertinelli, and Felicity were all there to party with her.
"Okay, ladies," Felicity spoke loudly over the five women that were celebrating Caitlin's wedding in two days.
"Shush," Sara added.
Everyone quieted down as Felicity tapped and lifted her glass, "Thank you. Tonight, we are celebrating our dear friend Caitlin's wedding. Not only is she marrying one of the most handsome and sweetest men I have ever met, she has been my friend, my confidant, and my partner for what seems like forever. I am so proud to call this," pointing at Caitlin, "incredible woman my friend and sister. I can't wait to be a part of your special day. Here's to Caitlin," she finished.
They held their glasses up, "To Caitlin," they all shouted loudly and clanked their glasses of champagne.
Sara stood up at that time, "I'd like to say something. What started as a temporary job became a regular thing at their little bakery. But I got more than access to delicious cupcakes, I got two friends and I am happy that I can be included in this special time for you Caitlin. And with that being said, I think it is time to eat some of those delicious cupcakes that Felicity and I made today."
Felicity had left to pick up the cupcakes from another table to place it in front of them. She and Sara had worked tirelessly creating mini pink champagne bottles to top the pink shiny icing covered in little silver bubbles over the champagne cupcake.
"Oh my god, guys. They are beautiful. When did you make these? Those bottles must have taken forever!" Caitlin squealed.
"These are pink champagne cupcakes," Felicity told them as she took over for herself.
All the girls grabbed one and bit into the sweet treats. They were hit with the pink icing which caused a little tingle in their mouths from the bit of champagne in it and the cupcakes were the perfect blend of the sweet with a touch of the sparkly beverage.
"These are awesome," Iris said her mouth still full of cupcake.
"You girls outdid yourself."
They spent the rest of the night drinking, laughing and dancing.
Before she knew, two days had passed and today was Caitlin's wedding day. Felicity watched her friend stand in front of the mirror with her hair swept into a low knot and topped with a pearl band. Caitlin's dress was classic satin with a high neck but a bare back. Her waist had a jeweled and lace band. Her friend looked deep in though.
"Penny for your thoughts," Felicity said, startling Caitlin.
"Felicity," her friend replied holding her chest, "Stop sneaking up on me."
Felicity laughed, "Sorry. Your dress is just as pretty as it was when you tried it on."
Caitlin swished her dress, "And you look stunning in the dress we picked."
"Thank you for picking decent bridesmaid dresses," Felicity laughed in response.
The bridesmaid dresses were red strapless satin floor length gowns. The wedding theme was red and white with touches of silver and black. Everything was set and ready for the couple to get married.
Caitlin smiled, "I can't believe I am getting married today."
Felicity hugged her friend, "Only if we hurry up and get you to the altar."
Felicity, Iris, Helena, Ava and Sara stand next to their friends as they say their vows. Felicity couldn't help but look at Oliver through most of the wedding.
Someday.
Although the pictures felt like the took forever, it was finally time for Felicity to make her toast as Maid of Honor. The reception hall was beautiful, filled with silvery gray linen covered tables, topped with tall red hydrangea filled crystal draped vases. It was stunning but simple. Felicity tapped her glass and caused a chain reaction of hushes and clinking.
"Good evening everyone! I am Felicity, Caitlin's MOH," the crowd chuckled, "I have known Caitlin for what seems like forever. She is my business partner, my best friend, my shoulder I leaned on when I didn't think I would make it to the next day. Caitlin is one of the best people you will ever meet. She is caring and intelligent and after today, no one would ever say she is anything but beautiful. Quite frankly, I for the very longest time didn't think she was human or that someone would be able to match her. I was wrong. Ronnie Raymond is an incredible man. He gives of himself every day during emergencies, he is willing to go into a sugar coma to make Caitlin happy, and he makes her smile wider than I ever saw before. If anyone deserves my Caitlin, it is you. So here is to Caitlin and Ronnie!"
Caitlin immediately hugged her friend, "I love you."
Felicity teared up, "I love you too."
It was then that their DJ announced time for the couple's first dance. They floated on the floor to their favorite song, "You and Me" by Dave Matthews Band. Felicity couldn't stop her smile as she thought about what her and Oliver's first dance song should be.
All of You by John Legend maybe?
Felicity danced with the best man but as soon as it ended, she walked over to Oliver.
"Would you like to dance?" she asked him.
"I only dance for you," he replied.
Together they twirled and smiled as if they were the only ones in the room and this wasn't someone else's wedding.
"I love you," she told him.
"Not as much as I love you," he answered.
"What song should be our first dance song?"
"Hmmm…" he dipped her, "What is that John Legend song?"
He really was made for me.
"Yes, I was," he said.
"I said that out loud," she blushed.
He simply nodded, "When are they going to cut the cake?"
Felicity had made their wedding cake. It was a simple four teared cake with black and cranberry red fondant ribbon. The main icing was white with a diamond pattern and little icing dots to connect the corners. Felicity was honored that Caitlin had asked even though she normally only makes cupcakes. It had been a long time since she made a large cake but for her best friend, she didn't even have to ask. The top layer was red velvet, the next was chocolate followed by a vanilla and the part they cut into was another chocolate layer since it was Ronnie's favorite.
"Why do you ask?" she questioned him.
"Because I would really like to sneak off with the maid of honor like Sara did with Ava."
