Ok guys. This is it. The very last chappie! So be prepared for a really...really long ass chappie. But this is really it! I'll do my boring speech about all that wonderful crap but enjoy XD.
Chapter 21. The Girl with the Pink Glass Slipper.
Through the whole day, nothing was accomplished. Shadow was growing very angry that he couldn't find the right one who fit into the slipper. He hoped and wished that somehow, he would finally find her. No matter how hard he tried, he would find her with no restraint. While he was busy with one, or two females, he noticed his friends were gone. He wondered where they went, but immediately knew they left to find their loved ones. He sighed to himself and shook his head. He was happy they were finding they lovers, but his would be quite a challenge.
"Grrr! I can't get it to fit!".
"This darn thing is too small!".
"Awwww why can't it be me?!".
Several hours passed of nothing, but whining and complaining from the rest of the woman who failed to try the slipper. Shadow could tell he's losing woman by the second and haven't found the right one yet. His only hope would be the home of the Rose. Funny. That name sounded familiar to him. He rode in his chariot to the home, parking it in the front. As the doors opened, he stepped out of the gold cart and walked up to the house with the guards behind him, one of them holding the glass slipper in his hand.
Betrice, inside, was smirking her head off. How in the world could she not know that Amy, Amy Rose, the maid and the disgusting daughter of that ungrateful husband, be the girl who was at the ball, WITH the prince himself?! Every bone in her body was aching at the thought of her getting the crown then her own daughters. She cursed under her breath thinking of what Amy would look like as a princess. But would that happen? No. Bretice would definitely wouldn't allow it.
After trapping Amy in her room, she got back to her room as well making sure to get her daughters ready for the prince's arrival. Ariel was decked a little too much, and Sally couldn't be any worse, but their mother was proud, "You two look so wonderful! Royally as well!" she said happily.
Ariel crossed her arms and smirked, "Well of course! We are the prettiest ever!" she gloated.
"The prince would honestly die if he sees me in this!" Sally squealed happily, "He would fall head over heals for me instantly!".
"AS IF!" Ariel growled at her sister.
Before Sally could back talk, the three heard the doorbell ring from downstairs. Bretice quickly raced down the stairs with her daughters and came to the door. She opened and bowed immediately after seeing Shadow at the door, "Your majesty." she said in a low tone.
Shadow nodded to her, "Hello. If I may, I like to see the woman here who were at the ball last night." he told her.
"Of course. Come in, please." she waited till the prince and his guards came in then shut the door behind them, "My daughters are waiting in the living room for you, sire.".
"Thank you, madam." With that, Shadow calmly walked to the living room where the very riled up girls are.
After meeting up in the village, Conner and Ash came to where Shadow was in the first place with their girls beside them. The two rushed to the spot, seeing him missing, but also see them as well, "Ash?!" Conner spoke after seeing the hyper friend with Kaitlyn next to him.
"Moonlight?!" Kaitlyn spoke up second.
"Kaitlyn?!".
"Kaitlyn...?!".
"Conner?!".
"Banana!".
All three looked at Ash in a confused yet very anoid look, "What? I like bananas.".
Moonlight sighed then took a deep breath once more letting out her anger, "Ok...so...who are you?!" she asked looking at Ash.
Kailtyn face palmed, "He's my boyfriend, you dummy!" she spat at her friend.
"Actually, I'm his and the prince's best buddy!" Ash chirped.
"So am I." Conner said after, "He and I are best friends to the prince and are like his helpers as well. And I guess you are Moonlight's trusted friend?".
The happy hedgecat smiled and nodded, "Her true, but second friend!" she answered happily.
"Second?".
Moonlight, this time, face palmed hard on her head, "CRAP!" she shouted having the three stare at her, "I totally forgot!".
Ash crossed his arms and cocked his head to the side, "Forgot...your make up?" he asked in a little joke.
Both Conner and her glared at him till she spoke up again, "No! I mean I totally forgot about Amy!" she said.
Kaitlyn gasped and nodded frantically, "I forgot, too!" she shouted.
"Mind giving us a head start on what's going on?" Conner asked looking at her and Moonlight back and forth.
"Amy is our very dear friend who is in love with Shadow and also him loving her! That's who he's trying to find!".
Both guys looked at her shocked as she continued, "And she lives with a very cruel step-mother and sisters! Who knows what they would do to her now?!".
After a few seconds of nothing, but awkward silence, Conner finally spoke up, "Then let's go.".
"Huh?!" all three said together.
"Let's go so we can help them both. Her house is the last of his list and if we hurry, we might get them to find each other.".
Ash smiled wide and fist pumped, "Oh yeah! Rescue mission!" he cheered.
"Then let's go! Now!" Kaitlyn shouted then rushed to Amy's house with the three hoping to get there in time.
Shadow sat the slipper on the carpeted floor carefully, "Alright now." he said in front of the two girls who sat in a large two-person couch, "You know what to do. If your foot fits, then you are the one I met.".
Ariel cleared her throat and pushed Sally aside, "I'll go first!" she said immediately.
Sally growled and watched her walk up to the slipper. Ariel slipped her foot in the shoe, but only could fit a half way in. She cursed under her breath and started to force her foot in the glass shoe. All the while, Bretice was nervous of watching her daughter try the slipper. She knew they could at least be able to fit into the damn thing. After a few minutes of grunts and struggle, Shadow then was forced to snatch the slipper away from her foot.
"I'm sorry. Your not the one." he said sternly.
The bat whined and walked back to Sally sulking the whole way. After Shadow placed it back on the floor, it was Sally's turn. She walked over to it and stuck her foot in like her sister did, but of course going half way in. She whined and started to struggle. The guards and the prince sighed annoyed. After a few minutes of watching the helpless girl trying her best to fit, the prince finally snatched it out of her foot.
"Not you either..." he sighed half annoyed, half sad.
Bretice sighed seeing how her daughters failed, but smiled anyways, "I'm sorry, your majesty, my daughters did get their father's feet from birth." she said jokingly.
Shadow wasn't any way in the mood for jokes. This was his last hope and now it was done. 'Guess what I saw last night was my imagination...' he thought sadly looking at the slipper.
As the three came to the house, Moonlight gasped to see the prince's chariot at the front of the house, "Crap! We're too late!" she shouted coming up to the house.
Kaitlyn rushed to the windows and looked inside, "I don't see anything!" she said.
"Then we still have a chance." Conner said quietly, "Where's Amy anyways?".
Moonlight understood how cruel her step-mother was and thought she would be in her room. She nodded at the thought and rushed to the back of the house, having the three follow. When they came around, they saw the tower where Amy was staying, "I think she might be in there!" she pointed out, also pointing to the top of the tower to the window.
Ash looked up and saw how high it was, "Whoooooooa...nice." he said.
Moonlight looked up to the window and sighed, "Well...here goes nothing..." she told herself, but loud enough a bit.
"Say what?" Conner spoke up.
Suddenly, her entire body lit up in a bright bluish glow, then instantly started to hover off the ground. The guys of course were astonished and freaking out about this, but Kaitlyn since she knew about Moonlight's special talent. As the hedgehog started to lift off the ground more, she then flew up to the window gracefully. She reached to the top and looked inside to see her dear friend Amy, hunched over by the door, crying her eyes out, or already did and her head on the wooden structure.
"Amy!" she shouted getting her attention.
Quickly, the rose hedgehog looked up to the window with her eyes of red from the tears, "...M...Moonlight?" she whimpered.
Moonlight smiled and flew in, but didn't stop her powers yet, "Amy! Are you ok?!" she asked even though figuring it out of why she was there in the first place.
"My...step-mother...locked me in...I won't see Shadow again...I won't get out...!" she cried once more.
"That's why we're here, girl.".
Amy raised an eye brow at her glowing friend, "'We're'? What do you mean...'we're'...?" she asked.
Moonlight smiled, "Kaitlyn and I finally found our guys and are waiting down at the bottom." she told her.
Eyes wide open, the pink hedgehog smiled to her friend, "I'm happy for you...but...how are you able to get me down?" she wondered standing up from her spot.
"I got a plan. Knowing how rude she is, Bretice might've locked the front and back door...so..." she trialed off, but smirked at a thought in her head.
Amy cocked her head to the side, "Huh?".
"Come on! No time to explain! We got a prince to get!" she shouted flying behind Amy and wrapping her arms around her petite waist.
The scared rose hedgehog gripped her hands that were around her waist and held on for dear life as she was lifted off the wooden ground and out of the window, "Don't let go!" she shrieked.
Moonlight smiled and held her tightly, "Never. Ok guys! One princess waiting to meet her prince, coming up!" she shouted to her friends down below, then flies up to the house, but up to the chimney.
Amy watched as she was being carried to the brick chimney and instantly knew what she was planning, "Moonlight Ray, don't you da-AHHH!" she shouted. but was quickly interrupted after she let her go sending her down the dusty chimney to the inside of the castle.
Shadow placed the slipper in a secured case and turned to Bretice, "Thank you for you time..." he said sadly, but strong.
Bretice nodded her head, "Of course, your highness. I hope you will be alright now." she said watching him walk to the doors with the guards carrying the box close to his chest.
Suddenly, the group was interrupted by a loud echoing shriek from the fireplace. All heads turned to see Amy tumbling out of the dusty place, covered in soot from head to toe, "Ow..." she groaned rubbing her head from hitting the floor.
Shadow widened his eyes instantly seeing her the second time, but also seeing how wonderfully familiar she was from last night. Bretice along with her daughters gawked at the sight of their 'maid' crashing through the fireplace, "Wh-what?!" she shouted loudly then rushed up to her and got in front of her quickly, "Y-your highness! She's just maid! Nothing you need to see!" she panicked.
Amy looked up to see Shadow staring at her with hope in his eyes. She gasped quietly and got up from the ground, dusting herself off, "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to-!".
"Of course you did, you stupid little girl!" Bretice growled turning to glare at her, "Now go away and don't bother with the pri-!".
"Enough!" She was quickly silenced seeing the dark prince walk to her, but going to Amy, "Step aside, madam." he said sternly to her.
Bretice looked at him with more panic, "B-but-!" she stopped seeing his ruby eyes burn into hers almost telling her to move aside, or else.
She obeyed and walked back to where her daughters are who were watching with large eyes. Shadow walked over to Amy who was nervously tugging her long raggedy dress. He saw her looks, her body, her eyes, he remembered them completely from before and the ball, "Amelia Rose." he said in a soothing tone like he had before when he met her.
Amy flinched at her real name being said and looked up to him, "Y-yes...?" she asked.
Shadow placed the box on the floor and opened it. The pink hedgehog widened her eyes at the sight of the slipper. 'He...kept it...all this time...' she thought to herself watching him take it out and set it on the floor next to her.
"If you may...?" he asked looking up to her sparkling eyes he remembered and wished to ever see.
Amy looked in his red eyes and finally got the courage which she had built up for this very moment. She smiled and nodded. Then with a slow movement, she slipped her foot in the pink glass slipper. A perfect fit.
Bretice and the two cried out in horror and whined even louder. Shadow on the other hand was smiling wide. He stood up and took Amy's hands tightly in his, "It was you...the whole time..." he said happily.
"Sorry it took so long." Amy joked smiling to the prince...her prince.
After successfully finding his true love, Shadow took Amy back to the castle to greet the king and queen. Soon the two were happily married and they couldn't be any more happy. Everyone was at the wedding. Conner, Moonlight, Ash, Kaitlyn, even the others the two had met and made friends with. After saying their vows and a seal to approve it, Shadow and Amy walked out of the church to be greeted by millions of people all around. Amy smiled wide at the sight, but wider to see her dear friends, standing by their lovers also being engaged as well seeing wedding rings on their fingers. The king and queen were truly happy to finally see their son happy and will forever be with his true princess. Shadow turned to his new bride and held her hands in his tightly, then in a swift moment, the two kissed once again. Amy was truly happy and she was forever grateful to all who helped her.
Also, to end it, Bretice along with her daughters, stayed in the house and continued to be nothing, but rotten. Although, she tormented the two by giving them jobs that Amy had to go through her whole life. Sally and Ariel whined and cried at how miserable they were wished that someday a silver lining will appear for them as well...probably not...
And that's all there is...there isn't anymore...
Finally done with this story! I swear this was harder than Love For a Slave...maybe not. But I like to thank all who supported me!
