3 Months Later
3 months later everything was back to normal. Jessie had settled in with Zoe and Ash and Social Services had been and gone. They were a proper family and Zoe was as happy as ever.
It was an average Tuesday afternoon in Holby ED. Resus was empty. There was only a few patients in Cubicles. Most of the staff were either in the staffroom having a chat or, in Zoe, Tess and Charlie's case, in their offices doing paperwork. Ash had had enough of talking to everyone so headed out of the staffroom to see his girlfriend. He knocked on the office door and walked in. Zoe looked up and smiled.
'Hey'
'Hey' Ash smiled and leaned against the door.
'Can you do me a favour?' Zoe put down her pen and looked up.
'Yeah course what is it?'
'Pick Jessie up from school. I don't want her walking herself and I have to go to an emergency meeting with Guy'
'What makes you so sure I'm not busy?'
'Because it's as quiet as a graveyard out there. Plus I'm the boss and your girlfriend and I'm politely telling you to get in the car, drive to the high school to get Jessie and come back here. Simple' Zoe leaned back in her chair with a smirk on her face. Ash shook his head at her.
'You should be so glad I love you' He walked over and leaned over the desk kissing her.
'Go on I have a meeting to get to' Ash walked out the office and headed to pick Jessie up. Zoe then stood up and got in the elevator, making her way up to the CEO's office.
An Hour Later
Zoe arrived back in the ED and stormed into her office slamming the door. Ash sighed and followed her in quietly closing the door behind him. He only had to look at Zoe to know she was fuming. She leaned against her desk and looked at him.
'Jessie okay?' She asked as calmly as she could manage.
'Yeah she's in the staffroom with Tess' Ash moved closer to Zoe. 'Now, what has our delightful CEO said this time?'
'Joint Clinical Lead that's what he's flippin said' She looked at him, anger in her eyes. 'Can you bloody believe that. He's bringing in god knows what kind of outsider to 'help me' run my ED!'
'What?!' Ash walked over and put his hands on the desk, either side of Zoe. 'He can't do that can he?'
'It looks like he can. But what I don't get is why. I'm running this ED perfectly fine myself…aren't I?' She looked at Ash hoping for an honest answer.
'Of course you are. You're the best Clinical Lead this place has ever had' He looked at her sympathetically and pulled her close to him. She put her arms around his waist and they stood cuddling each other for a while.
I would like to know what you all think as I'm not really sure: should I make it that Connie's there or not? I'm not sure haha! Sorry for the short chapter but it will get better starting next chapter! Nicola xox
