Derek grabbed onto me too. Even though it was awkward for him. I don't think he knew what to do with crying girls like me.
Suddenly I was aware of a breeze on my entire back. I stiffened and stopped crying.
"Derek?"
"Yes."
"Am I naked?"
"You have my jacket over your chest," he answered.
"Oh, okay." I didn't let go of him. Then I realized something.
"You didn't look did you?" This time he stiffened, and didn't answer.
"Derek?"
"Yeah!," I screamed in pure joy, excitement and adrenaline.
"Ah!" both of the boys in the car cried.
"I don't want to die! I'm too young!" the cried.
"If we make it through this remind me never to let you drive my jeep," Stiles practically sobbed.
"No promises!" I said through a wide grin.
Kate Argent was chasing us, but we had plenty of distance between us. That might have been because I was going over one-hundred miles an hour.
The tires made a loud screech as I rounded another sharp turn.
"Seatbelts?" I asked.
"Definitely!"
"This is so much fun!" I laughed.
"They're gone," Stiles said suddenly.
"What," I yelled in astonishment.
Stiles looked down at the radio in his hand then pressed the power button.
"All units, suspect is on foot heading into the iron works." A voice said through the tiny speaker.
"Shit." I cursed.
Seconds later the car was doing a 180, the boys were screaming, and I was laughing.
It took us a minute top to make it to the iron works. Derek was hiding behind a large tractor and I saw the relief flood into his features when he saw his car.
I slammed on the brakes and threw open the passenger door.
"All aboard!" I yelled.
The reply I got was less friendly. How unfriendly? How about Argent machine gun unfriendly? Yeah those pricks were shooting my precious, I mean Derek's precious car.
He jumped into the passenger seat, and before he could shut the door I was burning rubber. The tires screeched loudly and they were met with the sound of bullets hitting the car. They ricocheted thankfully.
"What part of laying low don't you understand?" Scott shouted from the back seat.
"Damn it, I had him!" Derek shouted.
"Language!" I barked jokingly. Hypocritical, I know.
Derek shot me a dirty look.
"Who, the alpha?" Stiles asked as his head popped through the two seats.
"Seatbelt!" Stiles slumped back into his seat and the loud click told me he had listened.
"Yes! he was right in front of me, and the freaking police showed up!" Derek shouted. He was obviously pissed about it. The urge to hold his hand was overwhelming. I glared out the window.
'What is wrong with me? Seriously? Hold his hand.'
'You're just scared he'll reject you.' my wolf taunted.
Ever since the full moon I could talk to her. It was strange, but I found myself enjoying the company more, and more. She was me after all.
"Oh, hey they're just doing their j obs," Stiles defended.
Derek turned and glared at him for several seconds.
"Yeah, thanks to someone, who decided to make me the most wanted fugitive in the entire state!" Derek growled at Scott. I chuckled.
"Can we seriously get past that? I made a dumbass mistake. I get it!" Scott shouted.
"All right drama queens! Knock it off.?" Derek glared at me for his new nick name.
"How did you find him," Stiles asked.
Derek scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"Can you at least try to trust us for one second?"
"Yeah! All of us!" Stiles interjected.
Derek shot the pair of them a glare.
"I already trust one of you," Derek admitted.
"If you trust me why won't you tell me," Scott asked incredulously.
Stiles and Derek looked at Scott like he was stupid.
"He meant Luna dumb ass," Stiles said.
"Oh."
"Well I'm flattered," I said with a grin.
"Don't be," Derek growled. I rolled my eyes and continued paying attention to the road.
"The last time I talked to my sister, she was close to figuring something out. She found two things. The first was a guy named Harris,"
Adrian Harris? No that couldn't be right. He was just a prissy slicked back hair class A ass hole. He couldn't possibly have anything to do with the mass killings going around.
"Our chemistry teacher?" Stiles asked.
"Why him?" Scott asked.
Derek looked out the window for several seconds then he shook his head.
"I don't know yet."
"What's the second?" I asked.
"Derek reached into his pocket and pulled out a crumpled piece of paper. He unfolded it then turned it so it was facing me.
"Some kind of symbol."
I looked down at it and recognized it easily.
"Of course," I muttered.
"What? Luna, have you seen this before?" Derek asked impatiently.
"Ask Scott,"
"I've seen it on a necklace… Allison's necklace."
"Derek?" I said hesitantly. The grip I held on the steering wheel was making my knuckles white. Well whiter than usual seeing as I was really pale.
Derek let out a deep sigh then rolled his head to me. He said nothing he just looked at me and waited. His face was shadowed with facial hair, and I had to admit it made him look sexier. More mature. His green eyes caught the light from each passing light and like an animal they flashed.
My gaze jerked back to the road when I realized I was staring and I quickly corrected the car which was veering off the road. I didn't even want to imagine what Derek would have done if I were to have wrecked his 'baby'.
"When are we going to talk about. You know, it?" I said referring to Wednesday night when we had sort of, kind of, macked out. He instigated the kiss but it wasn't like I was putting up a real big fight. Could you blame me though? A lesbian would have turned for this gorgeous creature. I – uh mean man. Gorgeous man, werewolf whatever.
"There's nothing to talk about so drop it." He said cooly.
"Oh yes there is. You know there is. So stop being a hard ass and spill."
"What do you want me to say, Luna? That I beat up Scott's so-called innocent boss. Or how about how the alpha almost killed me." Derek spat.
I was disappointed beyond belief. Was he pretending the kiss didn't happen? Was it because I basically rejected him? Or maybe it was because he actually didn't have any feelings for me at all and it was a spur of the moment kind of thing? Was it because of the full moon? Did he just want some lip action?
I bit my lip and tilted my head down so a curtain of black hair blocked him from my view and maybe, hopefully shielded my heart broken features. Oh man, did I hope so!
"You know that's not what I meant," My voice cracked a little from my nerves.
"What do you mean?" he mocked.
"You know what," I muttered. He just gave me his class A douche look and didn't say anything.
"Your unbelievable," I said underneath my breathe. He heard anyway of course.
"Why did you kiss me!" The words finally spilled out of my mouth.
"You kissed me!" he shouted back defensively.
I gasped in disbelief.
"Seriously, Derek? I was there! I know what happened! And I did not kiss you, you kissed me!" I shouted.
In that moment I was thankful we had dropped off Scott and Stiles. It would be misery if the boys knew what had happened. Stiles would never let me live it down.
Suddenly the car got real quiet, and awkward. I pulled up to the apartments where Derek lived and parked. I put the car in park and turned off the engine. I stared at the crappy scenery in front of me for a moment and let out a sigh.
"If it didn't mean anything to you just tell me now and save me the humiliation," I finally concluded the little debate me had going on.
"Do you seriously think I would kiss you if it didn't mean anything?" Derek asked.
"I don't know actually. I've dealt with some pretty shitty guys in my day. You should have seen my last boyfriend. Douche beyond belief. He actually had me thinking he liked me. Gosh I'm so stupid." I laid my head on the steering wheel as my thoughts swam of my previous boyfriend who I had most likely killed.
"You would think we lived in some high school drama TV-show on MTV or something." I mumbled.
We sat there like that for several minutes. I was wallowing in self pity while he sat there in silence.
"I'm not that type of guy," he spoke, breaking the silence.
"What?"
"I would never hurt you like that. You're the o-one thing I actually." He paused for a moment and I looked up at him with a wide eyed expression waiting for the key words that would really matter.
"I'm the one thing, what?" I asked.
"You're the one thing I actually care about anymore." He admitted.
I smiled at him as tears welled in my eyes. I looked away and tried to blink them back.
"You know I'm gonna sound like the clichéd teenager and say, I didn't actually think anyone cared about me anymore. Yeah there's Scott and Stiles, but honestly I'm just there back up," My voice was rough from the lump that had formed when all of my emotions came to play.
I had realized a long time ago that I would never be really be the boy's best friend, and when the alpha problem was solved they would drop me like a hot potato. But saying it out loud felt like I was getting kicked in the gut.
"Hey." Derek said trying to get my attention.
I looked at him through tear filled eyes then back down at my tightly clasped hands that were folded in my lap. Derek put a hand on my shoulder and at the new contact I looked back up at him.
"I will never hurt you like that," He repeated his words.
I stared up at his green- almost grey eyes and found myself lost, and again our faces inched closer as we leaned over the consul to reach each other. We both paused when our lips were centimeters away.
"Derek?" I whispered.
"Yeah?"
"You remember when I said 'that can't happen again'?"
Derek stiffened as I brought up our last kiss. He said nothing, and waited for me to continue.
"I want it to. And I hope you didn't mean what you said. Because if you did I'm going to be so embarra-"
My eyes snapped shut and both of our lips crashed together in a spontaneous display of affection. It was like a cheesy movie where fireworks went off and the choir sang joyfully. Only in this movie there was a psycho serial killer alpha who had a personal vendetta.
I tried to drown out my scrabbled thoughts and focus on his lips. My hands were tangled in his spiked hair and as I ran my fingers through it I realized I was right, no gel. I smiled as he bit my lip and continued to run his hands down my back.
Derek unzipped my leather jacket and I shrugged it off with a lot of difficulty. It wasn't easy undressing in a cramped car. Derek was a big help. No surprise there. I was sure he couldn't wait for the next layer to come off as well, but I had morals and even though I loved the feeling of us this close I wasn't about to hand my V-card over to him. Yet.
What the hell was I thinking? Yet?
Oh. My. Gosh. I really liked Derek.
I began tugging on his black jacket trying to pull it off. He chuckled and pulled away . For a moment I thought he was he was done but when the jacket was off he attacked me with a new found strength.
Holy crap I liked kissing him. I loved kissing him. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced and I was addicted. Who wouldn't be?
But like all breathing things we needed oxygen and we both parted our lips. I rested my forehead against his not finding the will to pull myself away completely. His touch left goose bumps all over my body.
We were both panting heavily, and my hands were still tangled in his hair. I never wanted it to end. I wanted to stay like that forever, and ever, and ever.
He put a small peck on my lips and I heart soared. Gosh I had it bad.
"Derek?"
"Hm?" he hummed. His eyes were still closed and he pulled me closer to him so I was more on his side of the car.
"You meant that right?"
He answered me with another kiss.
"You did too right?" he asked and for the first time ever Derek almost seemed… self conscious.
"Of course. I'm not that big of a skank." I joked. He chucked lightly.
"You should probably get going. I have school tomorrow and a necklace to find," I told him.
He pulled away and looked out the fogged up windows. I blushed once I realized why they were so fogged up.
"I don't live here anymore." He said.
I looked at him in shock.
"And you didn't tell me?"
"I'm a wanted fugitive, you really think I get the luxury of living in a heated apartment?" He asked rhetorically.
"Okay then, smart ass. Where are you staying?" I asked with a roll of my eyes.
Derek was silent for several moments, and he just stared out the window while I stared at him expectantly.
"My car."
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"I'm staying in my car." He clarified.
"You-your staying, in your car?"
He stared at me blankly.
"Derek I think you're a little too big for that," I told him slowly.
"I seem to manage with all the other important stuff."
My neck to my hairline went bright red. I couldn't believe he had just said that. I knew he was a pretty straight forward guy, but what he said was… scary forward.
"I don't have anywhere else to go. Those Argent assholes took over my house, and because of your two idiots I'm now wanted for being a mass murder," Derek bit out.
I sat back down in my seat once I realized I was still very, very close to him even though he had moved back to his seat.
Derek couldn't stay in his car. I would feel awful if that happened especially because if I would have been conscious when the alpha had attacked the school I could have said it was a joke. That Derek was innocent and it was someone else attacking the school. Not Derek. But me being the stupid person I am, got my butt kicked and then knocked unconscious.
There was one place he could stay. It would be really risky. Really, really risky. But I would do it for Derek. There wasn't much I wouldn't do for the leather clad werewolf.
I slumped back down into my seat so my leather jacket bunched around my face, and let out a groan. I squeezed the bridge of my nose tightly and shut my eyes too.
"I guess. I guess you could possibly stay at my house for a little while."
Derek looked at me in surprise. I could feel his green eyes locked onto my half covered face.
"Sure." He grumbled after several moments of silence.
I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding and sat back up.
"Good. Now I need to figure out how we'll handle my dad." I said while turning on the car and pulling out of the cramped parking lot.
I glanced over at Derek and saw he had a small smirk on his face.
"What," I questioned as I smiled self consciously.
"Will we be sharing a bed?" He asked. Derek had a full smirk on his face.
"Oh my gosh."
"He threatened you?" I growled out.
"Yeah. He said if I didn't get 'the bite' for him Allison would find out," Scott said dejectedly.
"How in the hell did he even find out?" I hissed. The two of us sat at the lunch table, and Stiles had yet to join us. "I don't know," He whined.
"Does he know about me?" I questioned.
Scott looked at me with furrowed eyebrows. "No. No I don't think he does."
"Well he's going to by the end of the day," I growled and bit into my green apple with a scowl.
It wasn't Scott's fault I was so easily pissed off. Derek and I had to park his car somewhere in the forest and then walk several miles back to my house. Once we finally got there several hours later (due to short breaks that consisted of long make out sessions) we had to sneak up to my room from the outside and go in through the window. Then after that we stayed up the rest of the night talking and again playing tongue twister. I was a little sleep deprived and Jackson threatening Scott didn't help.
"Luna-," Scott was interrupted by Stiles plopping down beside him noisily.
"Did you get the necklace?" He asked.
"Not exactly," Scott said dejectedly.
"Ah. What happened?"
"She told me not to talk to her. At all," Stiles bit into the chicken hungrily, eating over half of it in one bite.
"So she's not giving it to you?" He said through a mouth full of chicken.
"She's not giving me the necklace," he barked angrily.
"Well, did you find anything else out?"
"Just that I know nothing about girls, and they're totally psychotic."
I turned my gaze from the apple to my friend and glared.
Scott caught onto his mistake and tried to fix it.
"Not you. I was talking about-."
"Save it."
"I came up with a plan B just in case anything like this were to happen," Stiles said while trying to swallow the large mouthful.
"What's plan B?"
"Just steal the stupid thing!" Stiles opened the small bottle of water and took a long swig.
"Couldn't we try at least getting to Harris?"
"My dad put him on a 24-hour protective detail, okay? The necklace is all we got. Steal it. Thank you."
I wasn't paying attention to the boys though, I was staring at a certain blonde Porsche driving rich boy who was staring right back.
"He's staring at us," I said.
Scott and Stiles turned their attention to me and looked at Jackson. Scott's back straightened.
"Act normal," Scott ordered. My gaze didn't falter though. Jackson smirked then bit into an apple. I copied with a scowl.
"Scott, can you hear me? You can, can't you?"
"What's wrong?" Stiles asked.
"He's talking to Scott." I answered.
"He knows I can hear him." Stiles's mouth flabbed like a fish and he sat up. "Look at me," Scott nudged him. "Just talk to me act normal. Pretend like nothing happening!"
Stiles eyes went blank as he tried to think of something.
"Are you trying to pretend not to hear me?"
"Say something! Talk to me," Scott hissed. Stiles arms flailed around.
"I can't think of anything! My mind's completely blank!"
"Your mind's blank? You can't think of something to say?"
"Talk about the weather," I told them, finally looking away from Jackson.
"I can't think under this kind of pressure! FYI, he's not even sitting over there anymore."
I looked back over to the table and saw he was gone. Sneaky prick.
"Looking for me McCall? I'm right here," He chuckled. "So what else can you do? See better? Are you stronger? More powerful. I knew you weren't that good at lacrosse. Which means you're actually a cheater, aren't you? I mean, can you even play lacrosse?"
"Yes."
"I bet my new co- captain is going to score a lot of points tonight, aren't you? And while your pretending you're not a lying cheat, I'm gonna ruin your life if you don't give me what I want. And I'm gonna start with Allison, or maybe even the girl next to you who's way to hot to be sitting by a couple of losers like you and Stilinski. I'm going to destroy any chance you have left with Allison." Scott began crushing the water bottle.
"And when I'm done with that, I'm gonna get her all alone, and I'm gonna get my hands all over her tight little body."
"Scott he's lying. I can hear his heart. Don't let him bug you like this," I said.
"I'm gonna do everything you never got the chance to do, and she's gonna beg for more." Scott clutched the lunch tray and it shook with the force he was gripping it with.
"I'll bet she likes to get loud. Maybe she's even a screamer. When I'm done with her I'll do the same to Luna. How are you going to feel Scott? When they're screaming my name, and you're left with nothing?"
Suddenly the tray snapped causing everyone in the lunch room to look at him. I stood abruptly and grabbed my stuff.
"Great now Luna's going to kill him," Stiles muttered. I wasn't paying attention to him though. I was thinking of bashing the blonde's head into a locker repeatedly.
Jackson had already walked out of the cafeteria. I threw the strap of my book bag over my shoulder and gripped it tightly.
"I'll be back," I said coolly.
Before they could reply I was already walking away, only stopping once to throw away my apple core.
I found him walking down the deserted hallway. I growled lowly and my pace quickened.
"Jackson," I called lowly.
He turned around slowly, or I guess it was slowly in my mind since in a flash I had him pinned against the locker. His eyes flashed in fear but it was quickly covered by his smirk.
"So you like it rough, huh?" he purred. I replied with a growl and a flash of my silver eyes and sharp canines.
"You think you can mess around with my friends and get away with it? I'll show you how rough I can really get, too. It won't be as pleasant as you were hoping though. I guarantee that. I can also guarantee if you keep asking for the bite I'll give you one, but it will be to your throat and you won't be turning." Jackson's cool gaze was now one of fear.
"You wanna run and play with the wolves, huh Jackson? Let's play," I said my signature words and pressed my body close to his so he was pushed against the lockers completely. My face was centimeters from his and I could feel his breath against my face.
"What do you say? Think you can handle it?" I smirked when he didn't reply and stepped several steps back.
"You're pathetic Jackson. Just remember one thing. I keep to my word." And with that I left him there gasping for air.
"So someone's a little cranky today," Stiles said as we walked down the vacated halls.
Class was going and I had a free period so did Stiles since we shared the same class. We were heading to Stiles house where Danny and Derek were supposed to meet us.
"Forty-two hours without sleep is a little hard on a teenage girl. Especially one like me."
"We got home at one, you still had seven hours of sleep." Stiles said.
"I got home at five, the other two hours I was a little preoccupied."
"Why did you get home at-. Oh! Oh my! You didn't did you?" Stiles hissed. He had stopped walking and was now gripping onto my arm rather fiercely.
"What?" I exclaimed as I ripped my arm away from the panicked teenager.
"You were with Derek, weren't you. Oh my gosh. I really am the only virgin in the group now." Stiles looked down the hallway with wide eyes.
"What!" I shrieked. "What the hell Stiles! You really think that I-I had," I lowered my face, gripped onto his arm and brought his face closer to mine. "You think I had sex with Derek," I whispered in shock.
He looked at me with a 'duh' face.
"I'll have you know That I am still one-hundred percent virgin. I've been kissed before but that's not even close to what you're thinking!" I hissed/shouted at him.
Stiles looked really embarrassed, but then again I'm sure I did too.
"You hang out with Scott too much," I grumbled as I let go of his arm and walked off at a fast pace.
Stiles jogged back up to me, and then walked at the same pace.
"Okay, changing the subject now… I talked to Danny he's coming after school to 'study' and I don't know how to get 'a hold of Derek." Stiles said.
"I can handle Derek. I know exactly where he is,"
"Of course you do," Stiles muttered.
"What was that, Stiles?" I asked even though I knew what he had said.
"Nothing." We walked outside and were heading to our vehicles that were parked next to each other.
Stiles climbed into his jeep and I stood by the door while I waited for Stiles to say what he wanted.
"Get Derek and meet at my house."
I gave him a mock salute then climbed into my car and drove off. Stiles went the opposite direction.
When I got home the first thing I noticed was that nobody in my family was home. Carter was still at school, Dad was at work But the step mother usually was there. I took it as me finally being lucky and walked up the two flights of stairs to my room.
I found Derek laying on my bed reading one of my many wolf books.
"Julie of the Wolves?" I asked as I set my book bag down and took off my leather jacket.
Derek didn't look up at me. His eyes continued to go left to right as he took in the words on the page.
"All of your books have a theme." Derek said.
"Congrats on stating the obvious," I laughed.
Seeing him put a smile on my face even though it had been a frown the whole day.
I had it bad. Way bad.
Derek shut the book and put it on my nightstand. He got off the bed then made his way towards me.
"I didn't take you for the type that read," I said as he stopped in front of me. He slowly wrapped his arms around me and I did the same.
"Same for you." He said with a smirk.
"Oh, and what type did you take me for?" I asked playfully.
"More of the hands on type," Derek said as his face lowered down closer to mine.
"Really? Well I guess you're in luck, because I happen to be both."
"Sure. You know I'm going o require some evidence right?" Derek said in a lower voice.
I ran my hands over his stubble.
"Are you going to be able to handle it?" I asked with a smirk.
Derek answered me by placing his lips on my own. I smiled and returned his kiss.
I loved being like this with Derek. I loved it! No more bickering or fighting just sweet talk, flirting, and kissing. I loved it beyond words.
Our kiss was interrupted by the vibrating noise of my phone. Derek's hand slid down my back until they were placed over my back pockets.
My breath got caught in my throat as he pulled me closer to him. He put his hand in the back pocket of my jeans then grabbed the silver razor. He brought it up to his face.
"Stiles," Derek said distastefully.
I grabbed the phone out of his hand and flipped it open.

Sorry got caught up with something on my way now.
I flipped the phone shut then put it back in my pocket.
"Stiles wants us for something," I said while moving away from him and walking towards the door to grab my jacket.
"Us, or you?" he asked as I pulled on the sleeves.
"Us. I was supposed to get you and go straight to his house, but I got a little distracted." I told him.
"He knows I'm here!" He shouted.
"Calm down! He knows I'm going to get you not that you are at my house."
I walked back over to him and grabbed his hand.
"I am calm," he grumbled.
"Sure," I said sarcastically.
He didn't reply. We walked down the stairs and out to my car.
I let go of his hand then unlocked my door and slid in the driver's seat. I looked over at Derek to see him standing there, staring at me.
"Get in!"
"You're driving?"
"It's my car,"
"Why am I not driving?"
"It's my car! You were fine with it last night! Let's go!"
"It was different last night."
"Oh my gosh! You're so sexist! Get in or you can walk there!"
His scowl went back onto his face and he walked over to the passenger side of the car. Derek got in finally and slammed the door.
"Thank you!"
He didn't say anything as I drove over to Stiles house. I think it had to do with his pride or something. Can't let his girlfriend drive.
Girlfriend? Is that what I was to him. Was he my boyfriend? We had never made it official, but I felt like what we had went beyond the typical boyfriend/girlfriend thing. Besides, my last boyfriend/girlfriend thing ended terribly.
I was so consumed in my thoughts I didn't realize we were at Stiles until I pulled up to his house.
I turned off my car then looked back at Derek.
"What are we?" I asked curiously.
Derek looked over at me and then his eyebrows furrowed.
He leaned over and caught my lips with his. His hands went up to my hair and he brought me closer. It was a closed lip kiss but I loved it anyway.
Derek pulled away but left his hands in my hair.
"I don't know," He admitted.
"Me either."
There was a very harsh knock on my window and I turned around quickly and found Stiles standing there with his lips in a tight line and a glare.
Derek's hands dropped and I got out of the car.
"What the holy hell are you doing sucking faces with that-that sour wolf." Stiles shouted and gestured wildly with his arms.
I crossed my arms around my abdomen and looked at my boots. When did I become a bashful shy thing?
When you got caught kissing your friends unwanted ally.' My wolf butted in.
Shut it.
"I-I don't know," I muttered.
"Your werewolves are so messed up," Stiles shouted then turned and walked inside.
I got back in the car and saw Derek grinning.
"What are you laughing at," I grumbled.
"I'm not laughing."
I didn't reply.
I decided it would be best to hide my car so no one knew I was there.
Derek hopped out of the car, walked over to the house, and barged In like he owned the place.
I followed.
When I got to Stiles room I saw he was sitting at his desk with a scowl on his face and typing furiously. I plopped down onto Stiles bed and Derek stood on the ground next to me.
"Hey Stiles," Sherriff Stilinski shouted from across the hall.
"Yo, Lu-Luna," Stiles swirled around and his eyes widened considerably when he realized I wasn't the one who talked.
Did I sound like a man?
Derek was making shushing moves with his finger and gesturing to the door violently.
"I, um," Stiles shot up from his chair and ran to the door where he slammed the door on himself. Quite literally. He was squished in between the door frame and the door as he tried to block Derek and I from his view.
I rolled off the bed so he couldn't see me through the crack in the door, then cursed myself when I made a loud creaking noise.
"What'd you say," The Sheriff asked his spazz of a son.
"I said yo, dad," Stiles said.
"Is Luna in there?" he asked.
"What? N-no. why would you ask that?"
"Stiles, I realize you're a teenage boy with urges, and I know Luna is a very beautiful young women, but don't ruin your friendship by, you know."
I looked at Derek in shock. Had Stiles dad really said that. Did he really think-? I shuddered.
Derek had a scowl on his face as always, but this time it was different. There was a certain thing about it I couldn't place.
"Dad-!"
"Anyway, I have something to take care of, but I'm gonna be there tonight. I mean, your first game."
"My first game. Gosh, great. Awesome. Uh, good." I could feel the awkwardness from where I sat next to Derek's feet.
"I'm very happy for you. And I'm really proud of you.
"Thanks. Me, too. I'm happy and proud of myself."
"SO they're really gonna let you play, right?"
"Yeah," Stiles voice cracked.
"Yeah, Dad. I'm first line. Believe that?" I could hear the happiness in his voice.
"Yeah, I can't believe any of the activities your doing," His dad said.
There it was again.
"But, I'm proud of you."
"Oh, me too."
"I'm sure you are," Sherriff Stilinski muttered.
Stiles dad enveloped him in an awkward hug and patted his back.
"Huggie... Huggie, Huggie," Stiles whispered.
"I'll let you get back to what you were doing,"
"Okay."
"Think about what I said!" his dad said.
"Dad, I'm still a-,"
"Don't do anything your uncomfortable with. Goes for Luna too." Derek then grabbed my hand and started squeezing it.
"Dad-."
"Be safe! I don't want grandkids yet." I heard him start to walk off. My face was beat red.
"Dad!" Stiles finally shouted, but he was already walking away. A low growl came from Derek's throat as the door opened and closed quickly.
Derek let go of my hand and shot up towards Stiles. Before I knew what was going on Stiles was pressed against the door and Derek was in his face yelling.
"Oh my gosh!"
"If you say one word…" Derek trailed off.
"Oh, what, you mean, like, 'hey dad, Derek Hale's in my room. Bring you gun?"
"Yeah that's right. If I'm harboring your fugitive ass, it's my house, my rules, buddy." Stiles smacked his arm and Derek looked down at where he hit then back up to the teenager's face.
It was silent for a moment and the mental image of Derek ripping Stiles's head off kept flashing through my mind.
Finally Derek nodded his head then let go of Stiles only to fix his jacket. Stiles did the same to Derek then he started walking away. Derek half lunged at him causing Stiles to practically fall over in fear.
"Oh, my gosh!" he exclaimed as he walked over to his computer.
Derek turned to me with a smirk then walked back over to me.
"You're such an ass," I whispered half jokingly.
He shrugged then grabbed my hand and lifted me to my feet. Derek kindly took the liberty of brushing of my backside. I rolled my eyes and he smirked down at me.
I looked over Derek's arm and saw Stiles glaring at the pair of us. I cleared my throat uncomfortably and then looked back at Derek's abdomen where I noticed there was dried blood which I was kicking myself for, for not noticing sooner.
"Scott didn't get the necklace," Derek asked then turned away from me and looked at the scowling face of Stiles.
"No. He's still working on it. But there's something else we can try." Stiles paused.
Derek grabbed my hand and we walked closer to Stiles.
"The night we were trapped at the school, Scott sent a text to Allison asking her to meet him there."
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. It must have been when I was unconscious.
"So?"
"SO, it wasn't Scott."
Yeah I was definitely unconscious.
"Did this happen when-,"
"When you were playing hero and fighting the alpha by yourself? Yeah," Stiles said bitterly.
Derek looked at me in surprise and anger.
'Tell you later.' I mouthed to him. He nodded shortly then directed his gaze back to Stiles.
"Can you find out who sent it?" Derek asked.
"No, not me. But I think I know someone who can." Stiles turned back to the computer ending the conversation.
"So now's a good time to tell me what the hell happened when you guys were trapped in the school." Derek said lowly. Stiles turned back around so he was facing us.
"I'll tell you. After the alpha 'killed you' Luna freaked out and became a mess." Stiles started.
I rolled my eyes at his choice of words and sat back down onto the bed. Derek stayed there and took in every word Stiles was saying.
"We ran to the school locked ourselves in, and then later the alpha found us and Luna went all 'I must protect my friends! Blah, blah, blah.' Then she got her ass kicked and called her dad via howl. Then there was a whole bunch of other crap that went on. You missed a good night," Stiles finished.
Stiles was acting funny. I couldn't explain it, but I knew he was being an ass. That was for sure.
Derek flipped around so he was facing me. His glare was back and he stalked over to me.
"You idiot!" he hissed. "You could have died!"
"It's your fault. She went all protective after you DIED!" Stiles butted in.
"Shut up," Derek and I shouted.
I stood back up so he wasn't so much taller than me.
"You did get hurt! I thought you died! You know how much-," I was cut off by his lips.
Again! Again he was interrupting me by kissing me!
"Guys! Not in my room! Go get a dog house or something!" I heard Stiles shout.
"Oh wow! I'm sorry." Derek and I pulled away as we heard the new voice. I blushed bright red when I realized it was Danny.
Danny had just walked in on Derek and I swapping spit. I hid in Derek's chest.
"Hi Luna. I'm sorry I interrupted." Danny apologized.
"No! Thank you! they wouldn't stop!" Stiles complained. I just buried my head deeper in his chest. I didn't go very far considering it was all muscle. Not that I was complaining.
"Danny, I need you to do a favor for me." Stiles started.
"What," He played with his bag's shoulder strap.
"I need you to trace a text for me.."
"You want me to do what?"
"Trace a text!"
"I came here to do lab work. That's what lab partners do!"
"And we will, once you trace the text."
Derek walked over to a chair pressed against the wall and sat down. I sat down on the floor by his feet and shrugged my jacket off. He did too.
"And what makes you think I know how?" Danny asked.
"I-I looked up your arrest report, so," Stiles trailed off.
I looked up in surprise. Did he look up my records? Did I have any records?
"I-I was thirteen. They dropped the charges." Danny urged.
"Whatever." Stiles muttered.
"No! We're doing lab work." Danny barked.
"Oh my," Stiles grunted in frustration.
Danny set down his bag and grabbed his Science book. They started homework and I was thrown into the black hole of boredom.
I was in the middle of pulling the small rocks out of the bottom of my shoe when I noticed Danny was staring at me. Well, Derek actually.
Derek had my copy of Julie of the Wolves (which he had grabbed when I wasn't paying attention) and was reading it.
"Who's he again?" Danny gestured to Derek.
"Um, my cousin… Miguel," Stiles said hesitantly.
I snorted a laugh then covered it up by coughing.
There was a soft kick to my back and I looked at him to see him glaring at Stiles.
"Is that, blood on his shirt," Danny asked in horror.
Stiles looked back and then looked down at his computer screen.
"Uh yeah. He get's these horrible nose bleeds," Stiles explained quickly.
I mentally congratulated him for the quick cover up.
"Hey, Miguel!" Stiles shouted. "I thought I told you, you could borrow one of my shirts." Stiles gestured over to the dresser.
Derek slammed the small book shut then stood up rigidly. He dropped the book onto my lap and I picked it up.
"Sure I'll hold this for you," I mumbled sarcastically.
I looked over at Derek to see him pulling off his grey long sleeve shirt.
My mind blanked.
I had seen Derek shirtless before. It had been when I ditched school parent teacher conference night and we had played the 'who can do more pull ups and push ups' game. He was hot back then too but I didn't have near as much feelings then. Now every touch gave me shivers and every kiss set a fire inside of me I had never felt before. And I didn't want to feel it with anyone one else.
Derek's back turned to me and every time he moved I could see the muscles rippling under his pale skin. In between his shoulder blades I spotted his trisklele tattoo. Just another thing I loved about Derek.
Derek turned around and looked at Stiles giving me a partially clear view of his ripped abdomen. He was holding up one of Stiles's many button up shirts.
"Uh Stiles," Derek said.
Stiles and Danny turned to 'Miguel' and waited for him to continue.
"This." Derek tugged on the sides of the shirt. "No fit.
All I could do was stare. How could someone be so… perfect? Sure he had his issues, but he was the perfect boyfriend, or whatever we were.
"Then try something else on," Stiles bit out in annoyance.
Stiles turned back to talking with Danny, but Danny wasn't paying attention to him. He had his eyes glued to Derek's back side.
Stiles finally caught on and looked between the two of them with a slackened jaw.
I looked back at Derek to see he was pulling on a very tight blue and orange striped shirt.
"Hey that one looks pretty good, huh," Stiles gestured to Derek. "What do you think, Danny? The shirt?"
I could see that it was pure torture to Danny. It wasn't a big secret that Danny was far from being straight.
Derek turned with a scowl on his face. I couldn't help it. I began snorting with laughter. Derek looked like a wounded puppy. His shoulders were slouch and he had his ever present frown on his face. The three boys looked at me in surprise. Derek was glaring at me and I could practically read his mind.
'Shut up,' I could imagine him saying.
"It's not really his color," Danny decided.
I had to bite my tongue from bursting out in laughter.
Derek turned to me and glared. His face was then covered as he lifted the shirt over his head.
"You swing for a different team, but you still play ball, don't you, Danny Boy?" I heard Stiles ask.
"You're a horrible person."
"I know. It keeps me awake at night. Anyway, about that text."
"Stiles!" Derek barked.
"None of these fit," Derek complained as he held up another brown t-shirt. There was a moment of silence where Danny stared at Derek, Derek glared at Stiles then back at me. I watched Stiles and Danny to see if he would cave, and Stiles looked at the large wall sticker.
"I'll need the ISP, the phone number, and the exact time of the text," Danny listed off as he turned away from Derek and stared at the laptop screen. Stiles threw his arms in the air and fist pumped.
I looked back at Derek to see he was trying on another one of Stiles's shirt. Again, it didn't fit. I chuckled and then my vision went black. The thing covering my vision feel and I looked at my lap and saw it was the shirt the grumpy wolf had just tried on.
Derek was smirking at me in his bare shirtness. I mock glared then threw it back at him. He caught it, naturally.
About a half an hour later Danny had found it and we were all huddled around the small computer screen. Derek had found a shirt and was right behind me as I leaned in between the two boys and read what the laptop said.
"Registered to that account name?" Derek asked in disbelief.
"No, no, no, no. That can't be right."
Account registered to:
Beacon Hills Hospital – Melissa McCall
End Search.
No freaking way.
"Did you get the picture," Scott asked through the phone.
Derek, Stiles, and I sat in Stiles's blue jeep right outside the hospital. I, of course was in the back, as usual. While Stiles was in the driver's seat and Derek was in the passenger.
Stiles was on the phone with Scott who was at the lacrosse game.
"Yeah, I did and it looks just like the drawing." Derek suddenly reached over and grabbed Stiles's arm, dragging his over the consul so he could talk to Scoot.
"Hey, is there something on the back of it? There's gotta be something," Derek practically shouted into the speaker all the while Stiles was mouthing 'ow, ow, ow'. "An inscription, an opening something?"
"No, no, the thing's flat. And, no, it doesn't open. There's nothing in it, on it, around it, nothing," Scott told him. "And where are you, Stiles? You're supposed to be here. You're first line," Scott asked Stiles.
Something interrupted Scott and I could faintly here Finstock's voice.
"Where the hell is Bilinski? Huh?" I chuckled.
"Man, you're not gonna play if you're not here to start," Scott's static voice said through the phone.
"I know. Look, if you see my dad, can you tell him… tell him I'll be there, I'll just be a little bit late, okay? Alright thanks," Stiles said in a dejected tone.
I knew he was really excited to play and that he had been hoping for it to happen since freshman year. But I also knew we wouldn't get another lead like this, ever. It was the necessary evil.
"I can take over for you. You can still play," I told Stiles.
"You're not gonna make it if you don't go now," Derek told him.
"I know," Stiles mumbled.
"And you didn't tell him about Melissa either," I pointed out.
"Not till we find out the truth," Stiles sighed.
"By the way one more thing," Derek cut in.
"Yeah."
Before I could stop him, Derek had already reached over and pushed Stiles's head into the steering wheel. My jaw dropped and all I could do was stare.
"Oh! Gosh! What the hell was…"
"You know what that was for! Go."
Stiles lifted his injured head and held it in his large hand. He dropped it then began blinking rapidly.
"Go," Derek demanded.
Stiles shakily got out of the vehicle with a scrunched up face do to the pain. Once the door was shut and Stiles walked into the hospital I hopped into the driver's seat.
"Was that really necessary?" I asked him.
Derek rolled his head so he was facing me. His eyebrows were raised and he didn't have to say anything for me to know what he was thinking.
"He has a very low pain tolerance, just so you know."
"Well he better get a higher one if he wants to let his gay friends check me out," Derek said.
"Hey, I'm not gay,"
"Obviously," Derek muttered.
I looked over at him and mock glared.
The vibrating noise of my phone pulled me away from the stare down Derek and were having. I flipped open the phone and put it to my ear.
"What Stiles," I asked.
"I can't find her," he said through the phone.
I placed the phone down and put it on speaker so Derek could listen.
"You couldn't find her?" I questioned.
"Yeah, I said I can't find her."
"Ask for Jennifer. She's been looking after my uncle," Derek said.
"Yeah, well, he's not here either."
"What?"
Stiles said something else but I was to shocked at my own discovery.
The smell of burnt flesh I always caught when the alpha was close was because he was Derek's uncle. The man that had been burned in the Hale fire. The alpha was Derek's uncle. Peter Hale.
"Stile's, get out of there right now-," Derek demanded.
I didn't stick to hear what else he had to say I was already running to the hospital at full speed. The only thing that was running through my had was 'Oh my gosh. My best friend's going to die.'
Does anyone do fan art, or anything like that. Cover photos, videos, pictures? If you do you can send it through my PM and I will be VERY, VERY, grateful.
