So sorry for the short notice on when this story was ending. But don't worry because part 2 is on its way soon along with a WinterHacker story.

On to the conclusion of part 1:

*Steve POV*

Everything was quiet for a few days. Waiting in anticipation of the inevitable confrontation between the Avengers and this new SHIELD. Everyone besides me, Bucky, Natasha, and Clint had started to relax but we knew better. We knew that once they managed to hack into the towers security fed that they would come back.

"They will never make it in here with me and Hacker Girl on the job," tony said sitting down next to me and Skye on the couch, trying to drape an arm over Skye's shoulders only to meet my arm already resting there.

"I don't plan on having them run in a wild goose chase," Skye said surprising everyone, "It's pointless to keep hiding because sooner or later they will find me and I am not putting everyone in a position that they fear messing up. And I can't be kept at a desk for missions, trust me I have tried."

Natasha spoke up, "Then we will do everything in our power to keep SHIELD at bay."

"You know what Hacker Girl," Tony said trying to lighten the mood, "We need to have our own Hacker day. Just you, me, and our computers."

Skye giggled and smiled at Tony, "Sounds like a plan Tony."

Tony smiled back and relaxed further into the couch. A comfortable silence filled the room which I broke once I heard the light patter of heavy boots trained to tread lightly in the stairwell.

"They're here," I said quietly.

The second after I said that the door was broken down and armed agents piled into the room aiming their guns at us till we were completely surrounded. We just stayed where we were, Bucky was fidgeting slightly but Jemma helped calm him down, and acted like they weren't there for a few more minutes before we heard the elevator ding. We heard a group of people come over to us and stop just behind the couch Tony, Skye, and I were sitting on.

"You owe me a new door," Tony said not bothering to turn around.

"And you have been harboring a dangerous item," Agent Gonzales shot back at him.

"Excuse me!" Skye said standing up and facing the group, "I am right here and I am a person!"

"But then again," Gonzales replied, "You are not."

I growled and was about to stand up but Skye laid a hand on my shoulder which caused all the armed men to take a step forward. That caused Bucky to finally snap and shot up to stand behind Skye.

"No one is taking Steve's girl anywhere."

His statement caused both me and Skye to blush a deep red which Gonzales caught.

"I didn't know you went for the dangerous type there Captain," he said towards me a little weary now that he knew that he came to take away Captain America's girl.

I stood up and faces Gonzales which caused the men to take a step back.

"Agent," I started, "Skye has had these powers for a while now and has a great deal of control over them. It's why she is an Avenger and why we will fight to protect her. We can negotiate terms on keeping Skye here but she won't be a prisoner."

This caused all of the men to lower their weapons a little and look at each other and at Gonzales who was dumbstruck.

He quickly recovered, "Well congratulations Skye. But you are still coming with us for testing."

Skye's eyes narrowed as she walked around the couch and closer to Agent Gonzales, "I will not be a lab experiment!"

I looked over to see one of the glasses on the coffee table start to shake.

"We have intel that Coulson is creating a super powered army and we feel that he will want you to join." Gonzales says as he eyes that glass as if waiting for it to shatter, "Given your powers, we cannot allow that."

"Coulson is not building an army of super humans," Skye said through clenched teeth.

Bobbie stepped up to the front now, "He is working with Mike Peterson right now and has built facilities big enough to hold a large amount of enhanced humans and the staff needed to sustain a facility holding them."

"Enough!" Skye said making the glass cup break.

"Get her!" Gonzales said.

Immediately the guards raised their weapons again and fired.

"NOO!" I screamed as I tried to grab Skye out of their fire but I was stopped in shock at what I saw before me.

Skye stood there surrounded by bullets that were frozen in mid-air. Everyone but Bucky looked at her wide-eyed.

"Bucky helped me find the earth in metals so I could control it," she replied as she dropped her hands which dropped the bullets, "That's how we were able to escape, I bent the bars of the cell."

Then Skye lifted her hands again and all the guns in the room flew out of their hands and suspended in the air. All of a sudden they vibrated and shook themselves apart. Unfortunately the guns included Natasha's and Clint's sidearm.

"Sorry," Skye said as she turned around to meet Natasha's 'really?' stare.

"Now," Tony said stepping forward in front of Skye, "About those negotiations."

*Couple hours later*

We were still negotiating the terms of keeping Skye here with us and not brought to the new SHIELD headquarters. Gonzales wouldn't budge with his list of wants out of this.

"For the hundredth time, Skye will not be tested out by your scientists when we have the two most brilliant minds living with her with high end labs of our own," Tony said rubbing his temples.

When you see Tony get aggravated, you know that and argument has been going on too long.

"I want to be able to test her dna to other samples to see if we can suppress these dangerous powers of hers," Gonzales said getting aggravated himself.

"Skye is not dangerous!" I said standing up out of my seat.

"At first she was scared but she accepted her power and learned to control it. Not everyone has powers they can easily control at first. And here are the Avengers terms. Everything goes back to the way it was. Skye as an Avenger, going on missions, doing her hacking, and having a good life without having to be pursued by you who are trying to experiment on her. And if the 'SHIELD' can't accept these terms then you can find yourself new Avengers because we will no longer associate ourselves with you or come to your aid in times of need."

Gonzales looked shocked at me before he quickly covered it up, "You're bluffing. Captain America wouldn't abandon innocent people."

"I wouldn't," I replied truthfully, "But we won't stand in the way if they are coming for you. And we both know how weak SHIELD is right now when changing heads and after its fall."

Gonzales looked over to the members of the board to try to help him but they all looked away and focused on other object around the room except for Bobbi.

"Bobbi," Gonzales asked hopefully.

"Skye is a friend," Bobbi said, "I will not allow her to be locked up and tested on."

At least there is one good person in this new SHIELD I thought to myself.

With that Gonzales gave a sigh of defeat and nodded his head.

After the terms were signed we ushered Gonzales and his team out of the tower and brought Skye back up from the apartment. We had her in the negotiations at first but then she started to get angry and making the table shake so Natasha took her back to the apartment. I know Skye wanted to stay and control her own life but we all knew she couldn't handle it right now. As the elevator doors opened to the apartment I found her lounging on the couch and floating a small rock in the air above. I walked over and sat down on the coffee table to face her.

"Skye," I said making her loose concentration on drop the rock on her stomach before she looked over to me.

"We managed to keep them at bay and stay away from us but I can't say that Gonzales will give up on this," I said holding onto one of her hands.

"We will deal with it when the time comes to deal with it," she said lightly kissing me before falling back on the couch.

I sighed and decided that we needed alone time so I picked Skye up and moved under her so that I was sandwiched between the couch and Skye.

"Jarvis, please lock down the room," I said closing my eyes, "And tell Bucky and Jemma that if they want to have alone time of their own they can go find a different room."

"Of course sir," Jarvis said before we settled into a comfortable silence.

Skye laid her head down on my chest as I wrapped one arm around her while the other I put under my head. Soon I heard Skye's breathing become steady and knew she fell asleep. I didn't last long awake either when I realized that my eyelids were slowly closing.

I woke up later when the sun was setting to find that Skye was no longer with me. I shot up and quickly scanned the room to find Skye in the kitchen trying to make some dinner. I smiled and snuck around behind her leaned down to whisper, "You want help with that?"

She would have jumped so high if I hadn't wrapped my arms around her as I said that to her. She turned in my arms and slapped my chest playfully.

"You could have made me cut myself!"

I looked over her to see the vegetable and knife on the counter.

"I'm sorry babe," I said kissing her forehead, "But I still want to help."

She thought about it for a minute before she smiled and nodded. Dinner was quiet and so was the cleanup. But it wasn't an awkward silence, it was a comfortable one.

As we lay in bed I thought about how much my life has changed since meeting Skye and how I wouldn't take any of it back. Ever. I know that whatever challenges we have to face in the future, we would do it together. With that in mind I followed Skye into a peacefully deep sleep.

ACK! Part 1 end!

Winter Hacker will be up soon. I also noticed on my traffic graph that the chapter (besides 1) that had the most views was Steve and Skye's smutty night…So I am guessing you liked it. Part 2 will be up as soon I see Avengers 2 but I hope that Winter Hacker will hold you over till then.
