Being rescued by Leo was extremely embarrassing to say the least. Someone of my caliber should have never been saved by Leo. An individual who I consider beneath me. Nevertheless, I noticed that the fight was already over when I returned back to the ship. This greatly upset because I was tired of those three getting all the glory. I was trained by my father and Ares to defeat those bastards but I have yet to defeat them. I am tired of being second best. I have been in the shadow of those three since they came to Goode High School and I am tired of it. I deserve to be in there shoes and I will take back my spotlight one way or the other.
I looked over at Mark and I noticed that he was upset as well. "You let us fall into the sea on purpose", roared Mark as he got in Percy's face.
"And what if I did, you deserve it for making out with my girlfriend", replied Percy in a deadly voice. Both Percy and Mark were in each other's face and one could literally feel the tension the tension rising between.
"Your girlfriend?" asked Mark in a mocking tone. "If she was your girlfriend then why was her tongue fighting mine earlier", Mark continued. At this point, Percy looked as if he was about to explode. I placed my hand on my sword hilt just in case I needed to back up Mark. Percy took out his two bullet point pens and they quickly transformed into two double edged blades. Mark responded my unsheathing his sword as well. I followed as well and Percy glared at me.
I guess everyone finally realize what was happening as they started making noise. "C'mon guys, we are on a very important quest to save the world here. Don't you think we should put all this animosity aside until the Earth is safe", Leo said.
"I agree with Nico, everyone should drop their weapons now", added Piper. As her words entered my ears, I could feel myself losing my grip on my weapons and I immediately realized that she was charm speaking us.
"Yeah come one Percy, we were trained better than this. You can't be losing your cool over a girl when the world is at stake", added Nico. Nico's words seem to have hit a nerve in Percy as his swords returned to pens.
He took a deep breath before saying calmly that, "Annabeth loves me and that is why she chose me over you. I refuse to let you ruin this mission so please refrain from touching her again or this quest will have one less person". Ouch! I thought as the words escaped Percy's mouth. I knew those words must have hurt Mark because I know personally how much he loves Annabeth. I quickly glanced at Annabeth to see her retreating figure. I looked at Mark again and saw that he was glaring daggers at Percy.
Before he could do something that he would regret out of anger, I pulled his arm and said, "Let's go back to my room bro, he's not worth it". I walked off and he soon followed me as we made our way to my room. I walked into my dark and gold coated room and threw myself on my bed. Mark came in as well and began to hit the wall.
"I am tired of closing to that dumbass", he screamed.
"I know but we cannot do much at the moment. We need to focus on the mission", I replied.
"I understand that but I refuse to let Annabeth go again. I want her and I refuse to let her go again without a proper fight", Mark said. "When I discovered that she loved me I was ecstatic. When I kissed her and she kissed me, I felt as if I was on cloud nine", he added.
"I can't tell you not to pursue your desires but you can't have her if there is not a world left to begin with. Chase her but do it in a non-confrontational manner. We need to prove to everyone including Annabeth and Thalia that we are worthy of everything we have and everything we desire", I replied.
"You are right. Thanks bro", Mark said as he gave me a fist bump.
"No problem bro", I replied. "Now we need to come up with a plan to take control of this quest and prove to everyone that we are the most powerful demigods for once and for all", I added confidently.
Thalia
I have to admit that I loved being Governor General. It has only been a couple hours since my installment but I love the feeling. I love the feeling of being in control and I loved being the boss. As my thoughts pondered on my newfound title, I remembered how I got it to begin with. I still find it hard to believe that Nico gave up this position for me. I feel extremely stupid for all the time I wasted being upset because Nico took my position of authority. In that moment when I heard the truth, I finally admitted to myself that he really did not desire to take my positions to begin with and that he had no choice. In that moment, I also realized how much Nico loved and trusted me. He loved and trusted me so much that he would trust the faith of the world in my hands. I am determined to prove to him that his trust was not misplaced. I am determined to prove to everyone that I deserve this position and that I can be trusted.
I was brought out of my thoughts by Praetor Zhang as he tapped me. "We have to meet in the senate house with the Olympians, Chiron and Lupa", he said.
"Oh shoot", I screamed as I jumped up. "Is it time already?" I asked frantically.
Frank smiled at me and said, "Yeah, they sent me to get you because you were not there at the meeting".
"Alright, let's go before I lose my job before my I start", I said as I ran through the door.
Narrator
At The Senate House
"Look who finally decided to grace us with their presence", commented Athena as Thalia walked in.
"My apologies, I was not aware of my time", replied Thalia. "It will not happen again", she finished.
"It better not because Romans do not respect such behavior", growled Lupa.
"Okay we need to get down to business. I have men to see", added Aphrodite.
"Yeah for once I agree with Aphrodite", added Artemis.
"So you have men to see as well sis?" asked Apollo mockingly. As soon as the words left Apollo's mouth, an arrow was buried in his right knee. Apollo screamed out in pain and the senate house erupted in life. "No need to be so violent little sister", he said quietly.
"I am not your little sister", Artemis screamed as she notched another arrow. She released an arrow aimed at his another knee but it was destroyed by lightning. The lightning bolt effectively silenced the room and focus was shifted toward Zeus.
"We are gathered today to discuss plans for Camp Olympus so let's get down to business please. Athena please begin your presentation", Zeus commanded.
"Very well", replied Athena. "I and Hephaestus will be building new cabins for the Romans at Camp Olympus. These cabins will be completed by the tomorrow. Cabins will be grouped into cohorts as this will be a battalion when the time for war comes. These cohorts/battalions will be grouped according to weapon of choice and they shall be led by the person who that they vote as centurion. There shall be two Praetors in the structure of the camp government and they shall be responsible for three battalions each. The hunters will also be a battalion themselves and they shall be led by their current Lieutenant. Artemis will not be with them and they shall stay within the compounds of Camp Olympus. The Governor General will be in charge of all six battalions, the hunters plus the special ops team. All Romans will be moving to Camp Olympus formerly known as Camp Half Blood. Praetor Zhang and Lupa will be responsible for conducting a successful transfer of Romans and necessary equipment by to tomorrow night. Chiron and Praetor Pollux will be at Camp Olympus getting everything ready for the arrival of the Romans. Hestia and Aphrodite will be sent to Camp Olympus to use their powers to ease tensions among the campers", Athena continued. Athena looked around to see if everyone was following her and everyone seemed to understand what she has said so far.
"I recommend that the praetors, Chiron, Lupa, Hephaestus, Hestia and Artemis begin their preparations for tomorrow night immediately since they are not needed for the remainder of my presentation. Everyone seemed to agree with Athena as the aforementioned names left the meeting.
Athena continued once everyone was settled again "Artemis, Ares, Apollo, Poseidon, Zeus and Hades will rally the Olympian forces and prepare them for war. The aforementioned including myself will be the official war council when the war begins. My presentation is finished but I need Aphrodite and Thalia to remain while everyone else leaves please", Athena said calmly. Everyone looked at Aphrodite and Thalia then back at Athena. Athena glared at them and they disappeared afterwards.
Aphrodite summoned a mirror to look at herself meanwhile Thalia stared at Athena expectantly.
"Why are we here? I already told you that I got men to see", Aphrodite said.
"Well those men will have to wait", Athena replied coldly. Aphrodite sighed and crossed her legs.
"Why are we here milady?" Thalia asked curiously.
"We are here to discuss your role as Governor General…." Athena said.
"If that's the case then why am I here?" commented Aphrodite. "As I said before I have..." continued Aphrodite before she was cut off by Athena.
"Can you please keep your thirsty and unsavory ways to yourself please? The next time you interrupt me will not be good for your flawless face", Athena said in a fierce tone.
"Thalia you were trained to be a great fighter not leader. To successfully fulfill your role, you will need the brain of a leader but also the charm of one. That is where Aphrodite and I come into play. You will be working with us until tomorrow night to improve in these areas", Athena said.
"With all due respect milady, I think I am perfectly fine in those categories", Thalia replied smugly. "If Nico could do it then I can as well", she added.
Aphrodite laughed before saying, "Well I do not know about the brain part but you are nowhere close to Nico in charm, I trained the Awesome Ones personally in that category. There is reason why they were chose to unite the two camps".
Thalia was taken back at Aphrodite's declaration and was slightly annoyed by it. Thalia was about to reply and Athena said, "I have to agree with Aphrodite on that topic but that is not important right now".
Thalia quickly tried to regained and asked, "And what is?"
"Us helping you to become the best possible leader you can be so you can lead both camps to victory", Athena said confidently.
Reyna
Well that was interest to say the least I thought as Luke and Mark left. I looked at Percy and noticed that he was still fuming. He looked like he was looking for Annabeth but luckily Annabeth was smart enough to escape the chaos. It seemed as if Piper accompanied her as well.
"Let's go Percy, we should get some rest after that battle", urged Jason.
"Yeah plus you need to calm down. Hopefully you will feel better in the morning", added Nico. \
"You guys are right. I will see you guys in the morning", Percy said as he left. Nico and Jason followed Percy as they both left as well. I looked over to Hazel and she looked as confused as I was. Leo tried to leave as well but I stopped him
"Not so fast Valdez, we have some questions that need to be answered", I said. Leo rubbed the back of his head and smiled at me.
"You got questions, I might have answers", he replied mischievously. I was about to ask a question Hazel beat me to the punch.
"Well you can start by explaining what the heck just happened", Hazel demanded.
"Well long story short, Percy took Mark's girlfriend which was Annabeth. Recently, we found out that Annabeth still harbors love for Mark and Percy was destroyed at that fact. Annabeth was apparently caught kissing Mark earlier but I saw her leave Percy's room when we were attacked so I guessed you could say we have a love triangle as dangerous as the Bermuda Triangle on our hands", Leo explained. As I listened to Leo, I couldn't help but feel like he was describing a movie scene.
"If we weren't on a mission to save the world, this would be great but we can't afford this right now", Hazel said.
"I agree, we need to act as the glue between the other members of the quest. It seems like everyone else has their own groups on this ship except us so we should be the group of misfits", Leo said with a smile.
"I do not know about the misfits part but I agree with everything else that you said", I said. Hazel nodded in agreement and Leo continued to catch us up with the pasty history of everyone on the quest. Eventually, we all shared what we each knew and gained a collective knowledge of the difficulties we would face going forward with our quest.
"Well it was great getting to know you guys and all but I think it is time I went to my room now. See you guys in the morning", Hazel said before she got up and went to her room. I was about to say good bye as well but it seemed as if Leo had different plans.
"So about that duel we had…" Leo said nervously. "My apologies fi I overstepped my boundaries when I yunno", he added.
"Don't worry about it. It's water under the bridge. You are a great fighter though. We should spare more often", I said with a smile. He gave me a great white smile and hugged me. The hug lasted a couple minutes because it was comfortable and I felt at home. We broke apart slowly and he attempted to kiss me again but I jumped back.
His face immediately fell and I felt bad for leading him on. "I am sorry Leo. I like you and everything but my heart belongs to someone else…" I said.
"It's okay, I am used to this anyways. I will see you in the morning Reyna", he replied sadly. He ran away quickly and I felt extremely bad. Especially since I did like him and he would be perfect if Jason did not exist.
