All's Fair:...
Daydreams of Snake Oil
Nora's POV
Despite yelling, swearing and screaming at the blank monitor, The Serpent didn't turn it back on. "YOU STAY AWAY FROM JENNY! YOU HEAR ME, PSYCHO? TOUCH ONE HAIR ON HER HEAD AND- RRRAAAHHHHH!" Even kicking and punching the walls didn't do any good. I'm not sure if Miss Victoria had said anything to try to get me to stop, apparently I don't notice much else when I' mad. But once I tire out, my throat becomes sore, and I make myself stop. I can't lose it now. Not here. Not because of him.
I clutch my head to stop the throbbing. "Just calm down." I whisper to myself. It was just a threat. Only some words. Nothing may even happen. Jenny's reclusive from people she doesn't know. Plus, The Serpent is way older than her! Jenny wouldn't fall for a play like his! She'll blow him off at first encounter and tell someone. Yeah, nothing to worry about.
"Nora?" VP Victoria called my name, and when I slowly looked up I could see she's scared, and maybe concerned. She struggles with what to say next, "Th-There are doctors here. B-But maybe that's not what you need right now."
Then what do I do right now? Getting my head straight would be a good start. Right now I'm so angry I'm close to being sick. I've felt like this before… No… I've never felt this close to… Sensei, he told me what to do!
'If your anger seems to consume you, just stop. Meditate. Lose your anger by turning your focus to another channel. One by one, eliminate the thoughts of your anger. It will take effort, but in time it will seem that your anger slowly flows away, like rocks in a river.'
"I…" I try to talk to Veronica. I don't like seeing the only person who's helped me here scared. "I need a little time to myself. To meditate."
She's quiet, and then she says, "Then go right ahead. Whatever you need."
I climb onto the mattress. I sit in a lotus position like Sensei taught me and close my eyes. I haven't done this in a while. I guess, because I haven't needed to. I concentrate on my breathing pattern. Slow…easy. You're breathing. You're still here, nothing's even happened.
In… and out.
In…and out.
In…and out.
I can't believe I'm this worked up. Not since high school did I ever feel so helpless. Meditating makes me feel at ease. I keep it up. My breathing becomes more even, gentler, and with it comes a sense of serenity. I have complete quiet around me. I don't open my eyes; I let myself slip into a state of calmness. Until it seems I'm half-asleep.
"Huh?" I wasn't even trying to fall asleep! I'm standing on an iron bridge. Below me is a clear, quiet river. And on either side of it is a forest filled with more color than the beach or garden combined. "How did I…?"
"Nora, the nature of the Baku comes to you so easily." Walking up the bridge on the right is my mentor, Sensei Hong. "I admit I am almost envious. It took me three years of trying before I was able to access the Dream-Plane through meditation."
I look around me. I make up some beautiful places in my head. "How… How is this any different from falling asleep?"
"It demonstrates a great level of mastery. Right now you are only half-asleep. This shows that it takes less than half of your power to connect to this plane. Nora, I know you may not understand the significance of this, but you are mastering your abilities at an alarming rate."
The way he said the last sentence made it sound bad. "And… that's not good?"
"Well… It makes teaching you a lot less fun." I giggled at what he said. I used to be the blank slate of the room. Sensei would say that was what made me his favorite student, since when I improved my hard work was easy to see. "But Nora I'm worried about you. I don't understand why you are developing so fast. So I am pushing up the next lesson."
Forgetting about my earlier trouble, I was now totally excited! Would I get a new power? What could it be? "What is it? What is it?" Sensei Hong stopped my jumping by placing his hands on my shoulders. Without removing them, he looked me square in the face with a very serious look.
"Nora." He began. "I had to think three times before deciding to introduce this to you. What you will see is not to be taken lightly, or used unless in the most extreme circumstances." Sensei's words were slowly starting to scare me a little. No not scare. I was feeling eager. I wanted to master this more. I have to use this power at full potential.
"Sensei." I spoke to assure him. "Maybe I'm moving up fast because now my mind knows it needs to work fast. I want to protect my friends, but it's really not just them who are in danger. The Council won't stop with just a group of teenagers. No one plans that small. What's going on here is big! So if my powers are coming along fast then I see that as a really good thing. I know I can convince Lee to talk to me again if I go back. But if there's a side to this that I should know about… keeping secrets hasn't done anyone any favors so far, Sensei."
Sensei slowly removed his hands from my shoulders and placed them behind his back. I could tell he was thinking about what I had just said. Truth be told, it surprised me that I was giving Sensei words of wisdom for a change. "Sensei," I said. "Please. I can barely afford to lose time now."
He heaved a heavy sigh. "Nora, your impatience worries me. But you are right that we must move along fast." He walked past me to the left side of the bridge. "I have been reserving my power for this lesson, Nora. You are very strong-minded so the barriers of your mind are thick. I may not be able to stay long once we pass though, but if you find yourself on your own, leave. Immediately."
I followed after my Sensei into the thick of the colorful forest.
No One's POV
Veronica Victoria looked on at Nora Prowler across in the next cell. Once she had sat down Nora seemed to become calmer. At first she had taken heavy breaths before putting much effort into slowing them down little by little. Now, Nora's chest rose and fell as if she were sleeping. But Veronica didn't see how she could be asleep sitting cross-legged and with her back straight.
"All that girl does is sleep. That can't be healthy for her." VP Victoria kept an eye on her young neighbor, in between playing a chess game with herself.
Nora's POV
The forest was at first bright, but thick with branches and bushes. As I followed Sensei they became thicker. When I could no longer see him I called out, "Sensei?"
"Walk forward, Nora." His voice sounded close, so I went ahead. With branches and twigs snapping at my every movement I strode forward. The surrounding eventually became too thick and forced me to stop with my arms covering my face.
"Sensei?"
"It's the border. Command it to let you through and push your way in."
Obeying, I closed my eyes and charged through. It only took three more steps before I realized there wasn't growing plants around me. I opened my eyes and lowered my arms. "Sensei…"
He was standing right next to me. "Behold, my young student," He gestured out with his hand. "The Gateway."
The surrounding area was a lifeless grey. Even the dust that was disturbed by our walking seemed grey. The ground was dry, only two now-dead trees stood in front of us. But the main attraction was a 2,000 foot stone gate with and equally high wall. There wasn't as much as a whisper of wind around us. I had slight feeling of fear, and much stronger feeling of déjà vu.
"This place…" I uttered, "It's all dead."
"Neglected." He corrected me. "Remember: the oldest battle ground."
I looked over to Sensei. "This isn't the same place as the first dream."
"It just doesn't look the same. What I showed was more of small scale model of the entities in your subconscious."
"Small scale?" Incredulously, I asked, "Those creatures were snarling and hissing! I was afraid for my life. Are you saying that was just a miniature version?"
"More like a miniature representation." Sensei said. "The entity of your negative thoughts and feelings lives caged and chained behind these walls. We slightly wandered into his domain the other night when we visited the Ruins of Regret."
"Whoa-whoa-whoa!" I stopped Sensei there, "Shouldn't I get a say in what they're called? It's my head."
Sensei looked over in my direction with a stern face. He sighed, "Yes, I suppose you should. Do you have a name for them?"
I thought for second, and then shrugged, "Nah. The name seems to fit any way."
Sensei rolled his eyes at me and turned back to the Gateway.
"Your ability to focus and block out the darkness that once consumed your mind has built this wall. I must say it is quite strong. But Nora what do you notice about this gate?"
Looking at it, it looked in every way to be a solid, stone gate. The same bricks that made the walls also made the doors. The door themselves were lined with a vibrant, red metal and the door handles, though large and half-way up the structure were golden. That's when I noticed something was missing. Something very important.
"Uh, Sensei?" I turned to my Sensei full of worry. "There's no lock on theses doors. If there's something that bad on the other side, shouldn't there be a heavy lock of some kind?"
"Very good." He nodded at me. "But this gateway has a very special kind of lock, Nora." I waited for him to continue. "The Baku gets to see this kind of development in the mind which others have only theorized about. What makes a person evil?"
"I think we covered that in your first visit." I remembered clearly. "'Which side we choose to feed?' If a person chooses to encourage their better nature, their better nature takes more dominance in their decisions. If they go for the worse…"
"Correct. I am glad you have been listening!"
"Now that I know what to listen for."
Sensei looked at me curiously. "Is that boy still giving you trouble?"
"Is he still giving me trouble!? Sensei, he beat the snot out of me and had me thrown in jail! At least I was away from him until he installed that T.V. in my room that he can turn on whenever he wants. And now? He's going after Jenny!"
My Sensei looked utterly shocked and taken aback by my update. "Who is…Jenny?"
I explained. "She's a fifteen-year-old girl who goes to A. Nigma High. She's part of our growing resistance group. I don't know what Stink-Ninja is really planning, but it involves her and a helmet with lice."
Now Sensei looked weirded out. "Strange plan." He coughed and regained his composure. "Ahem, anyway. Nora, do you know what the form of your evil nature is?"
"No." I told him. "Should I?"
"Ordinarily, no. But you have used it before. When you were in tenth grade yourself."
It took a moment, but I realized. "The Incident."
"That is how I discovered that you were one of the Baku. In addition to being called a spirit of dreams, we have also been identified as monsters of humankind." He stopped to make sure I was paying attention. Boy, I wasn't looking away. "We are more in tune with our mental and emotional natures than other humans are. This allows us to travel into the subconscious, and foster our abilities further through the interaction. But… know this as a fact, Nora: The greater the power, the steeper the price."
"You mean the energy problem. When I do the Dream-Border, and Dream-Walking thing, I don't exactly wake up recharged."
"No! There is more than that! Your responsibility to your abilities lies in the stabilization of your emotions." Sensei pointed his finger at me. "You must remain in control at all times. What I have been calling 'the Beast' is the same entity that attacked those classmates all those years ago." Sensei began to look angry as he continued to speak. His eyes never left mine, and I felt afraid to look away. "You finally caved in under the pressure and harsh treatment. Any human can. Accept you! The power of the Beast is meant to be used only in the threat of losing lives or not at all."
Why was he yelling at me about this? I didn't know what was going on when it happened. I didn't find out until just now what had really happened! "So," I rasped, tears threatening to come out. "That's what happened that day."
Sensei withdrew his hand and placed it behind his back with the other. "I apologize, my student. I have thought several times over whether or not you were ready to learn this. You've grown up. I had to admit that perhaps I should have told you this long ago, but… before there was no need. Your mental training was going so well that I thought… There would never be a reason for you to know of this."
A part of me was hurt that he had never told me about this. For the first time my faith in my Sensei wavered. From behind the Gateway we heard a great growl. "Nora…" That voice. It's the same I felt in Principal Wurst's office, and again when I was fighting The Serpent. "Nora… Come in… It's been years, hasn't it? Come right in. You know I can help you."
I felt somehow drawn to the voice that was dark, alluring and familiar. As if in a trance I responded and stepped towards it. "Yes… You can, can't you?" The time of the Incident, even if I can't remember it, I can remember what I could do from it. Sensei said it had unimaginable power. I could use that right about now. I could get out of Coral Grove.
I could get home.
I could see Dad again.
But as soon as I took that step and reached my hand out, Sensei Hong quickly grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
"Sensei!"
"The Beast must remain inside Nora! The Gateway can only be opened from the outside. He knows that if you let him out, he will find a way to break free!"
"You said I'm more advanced!" I protested. "I need that power! I need to get out of here! They need my help!"
It was a tug-of-war between me and Sensei Hong. I was trying to get to the Gateway to open it, while Sensei was pulling me in the opposite direction. "No! Nora you currently have no idea what is going on out there! For all you know his plan will fail. And you will have permanently lost you mind for nothing. What help are you to anyone then?"
"Why did you show me this if you didn't want me to use it?"
"To let you know what the exact consequences of your actions are! If you stumbled upon this dark place on your own, you may succumb to the darkest parts of your mind! He has broken through once before when your mental state was weak and you were in danger! Do you want that to happen again?"
I froze.
After the Incident I had been throwing up for days. Dad had been so scared then. He might have blamed himself, but I part of me must have known that it was my own doing. Then when Dad found out what had been going on at school, I thought he would yell at me for not telling him sooner. But again, he blamed himself for not being around like Mom had been. I promised Dad that no matter what I wouldn't let something like that happen ever again.
Sensei and I fell from the force he had applied to pull me back. Coughing and getting up from the dirt we both looked at each other. I looked back up at the gate; the dark voice had gone silent. Then I looked back at Sensei, apology written all over my face. "No. I don't want that." Even if those kids had deserved it, and school had deserved the lawsuit, Dad didn't deserve to lose another piece of his family. "I'll… I'll find another way, Sensei." I panted. "I'll… I won't stop."
Sensei was panting too. Having landed on his back he required a hand to help him get up. "I will trust you," He bowed from the waist. "Black Fox." For the first time, I started to accept the nickname.
Miss Victoria was relieved when I woke back up. "I'm glad you're feeling better, Nora" she said. "But I worry about you oversleeping. That isn't in the best interest for your health you know."
"Oh, I wasn't asleep." I told her. "I just got into a deep meditation. I guess you could say I was half-asleep. But thanks for not waking me."
"One of the robots came by while you were out. It said you have an appointment later to see how you are recovering."
A rib takes more than two days to heal. At least, normally. I counted my speedy recovery as another asset to this Baku thing. It still hurt, but I wasn't concentrating on it too much. I had other problems on my mind. One of which was The Serpent making good on his threat. I'd almost forgotten about him. I guess I have to come to terms with me being stuck here. I'll have to put my faith in the others and hope for the best.
The Serpent often underestimates his enemies in favor of himself. A part me was feeling confident in that he's chosen Jenny to go after. She is definitely tougher than she looks. She's the one who punched-out Lynch and isn't afraid to push ahead when she needs to get through.
"Well, now that's a look of confidence." VP Victoria mused from her cell. "What are you thinking about?"
I smiled. "About how The Serpent's plan is going to blow up right in his face! I don't know if you remember Jenny Jerkins, Veronica. But she's as tough as a rock and very perceptive. He's totally underestimating her if he thinks she'll just fall right in to whatever he's planning."
"Hmm," Veronica remembered. "I do remember! Jennifer Jerkins, tenth grade. She had the…ergh… nose-picking problem."
"Yeah, but she hasn't done that in a while. Only when she's feeling nervous or uneasy. I actually haven't seen her do it that often."
"But I don't see how the hypnosis-" The ex-VP stopped herself. A slip of the tongue, Vice Principal? I caught it.
"So," I put my hands on my hips. "Deuce, Lou and Jenny have been hypnotized to do those embarrassing things. Wow, three perfectly promising students have their social lives thrown down the drain just so you can look good to the higher ups who threw you in here?"
Veronica Victoria looked around nervously. But then I told her, "Oh, don't let this ruin our future conversations, Miss Victoria. You've been a wealth of helpful information to me since coming here. Now that I know why the three Outcasts have these problems, once I get out of here they can get rid of them."
"When you get out of here, Miss Prowler?" She challenged.
"You're looking at a girl who doesn't give up easily. It'll take time, but Lee's already received my message so it's up to him to decide what to do with it."
"You're not really planning on having them break you out of Coral Grove are you?"
"No way! I don't want any of them coming here! At least not right now. All I'm saying is that this isn't going to go down the way the Council wants it. If Lee's like-a-little-brother to me, then Jenny's like-a-little-sister. They're not going to let something like imprisonment slide by, and I'm not letting The Serpent get away with what he's done."
"Or may do?" She asked.
"Exactly."
It was still morning and Veronica and I had gotten into a chess game when the sound of static started coming from the monitor. The screen didn't turn on, but the voice was all too easy to identify.
"Hello~!"
"Oh great, the snake oil salesman is back."
But he continued speaking. "Just so you know, Nora. This line is only one-way. You can hear me, but I can't here you."
"So it's like a regular conversation." I grumbled.
"Hee-hee! The time is currently 8:05, and little Jenny Jerkins is currently sitting in her own little coffee shop reading. But what this? Aw, her favorite blue bike is just sitting out here by the street, locked to the light pole. I should move it!"
I face-palmed. He's narrating his whole scheme. "So he's stealing a girl's bike. Yeah, that's fitting for the most evil corporation's psycho assassin!" What's he going to do next? Steal her lunch? He just kept on talking.
"It's hidden away in an alley. Now all I need to do is wait. In case you are wondering, the phone is in my front jacket pocket. That way when you little friend comes out, you can hear her too! But don't forget: she won't hear you! Hee-hee-hee!"
"I hope someone sees him talking to himself and thinks he's an idiot." I growled. Serpent is just doing this to tick me off, Jenny's going to have to walk-
Hold on… He said the time was 8:05. School starts at 8:30. Jenny better move or she's going to be late.
"She wears the same hair-tail that you do, Nora." Now he's spying on her. Jenny needs to go, can't she see him? "Are you too… close?"
I didn't answer. Why would I? He can't hear me!
The Serpent starts humming a song and I cover my ears when it starts to annoy me. When I hear Jenny's voice I remove my hands. Jenny!
"Aw, great! Really? Now this?" She must have just seen that her bike has been taken. What she doesn't know is that the thief is real close to her.
"Something wrong?" The Serpent asks casually. Like he's a regular guy who just happens to be there! Jenny go! Just run to the school!
"Yes, something's wrong!" She replies in a sarcastic tone, that is so Jenny. "Can you guess what it is? Oh! Here's a clue! Broken bike-lock and no bike." That's my girl! Sugar and spice and a-tongue-that-can-slice! I'm so proud of her right now. She asks him, "Did you see anything?"
"I see a lot of things." He replies smoothly. Bleh… "But a bike-thief? Sorry, no dice."
"Of course not, you haven't looked in a mirror." I look over at Miss Victoria who's listening for her own entertainment. "I can't help it, he bugs me!" I turn my attention back, it sounds like he's walking away. But I can still hear Jenny.
"Thanks for your help, Mr. Observant!" Good! Now Jenny just needs to go! Run to the school and tell Lee, Tina or Biffy what's happened! Then The Serpent's plan is a failure, just like I predicted. I can still hear Jenny, and I know she's talking to herself out loud again. "I can't be late for school again!" Leave Jenny, leave!
"I'm heading that way."
"No!" Wait, this is basic stuff. Jenny's not gonna take a ride from a stranger. She's not very trusting of people and she knows better.
"Or you can be late. Your call…"
"Just run, Jenny." I say without yelling. "It's okay; at least you're safer being late."
"Well…" She can't really be considering riding with him? "Hey, that looks just like Nora's helmet!"
"Yes!" I thrust my fists up and cheer! She saw it. No way is The Serpent getting her today.
"Who?" The Serpent asks her. "This is just my sister's. And her name isn't Nora. It's about your size. So, do you need that ride?"
"I… er, I don't know. It's not that you seem like a bad person but-"
"Wait, would your friend be, Nora Prowler?"
"That's her name! Have you seen her lately?"
My gut twists into a tight knot. He's using me to get to Jenny! But he can't do that without revealing who he really is.
"Not since I saw her at her usual coffee shop."
"Then… are you that guy who asked her out? Are you her boyfriend?"
"NO!" I yell out. I don't care if it's just VP Victoria that hears me.
"Hm," He hesitated, probably trying to figure out a good answer, "no not really." Don't act sad you little lying snake! "She's never said she was my girlfriend. But she was a very nice girl. Very nice."
Puke…
"Then it should be okay! I'd really appreciate it!"
When I heard the motor rev I knew I had lost… and The Serpent had won… again.
They didn't do any talking on the ride over. But I wasn't going to wait that long. I had to see this for myself. I got back up on the mattress and took my meditation pose. "What are you doing?" Miss Victoria asked.
"I am very stressed." I said to her. "Even when he comes back on, I don't want any more holes for me to trip on in my cell."
"Guess I can't blame you for it." She resigned. "He's found your weak point didn't he?"
I said nothing. I just started going into meditation. Serpent isn't just aiming for Jenny. Whatever he's doing I need to keep an eye on him.
I bypass my dream and head right into the Reality Border. I show up right beside Jenny as she and The Serpent pull up outside the school. Sure enough, she's wearing the white helmet. I am so angry at The Serpent right now. And Jenny? How could she do this? I realize that even while I thought I was dating him, I never once told any of the kids what he looked like. All Jenny knows is that the Stink-Ninja smells like rotten eggs. Jenny definitely would have run from the smell. Why doesn't he reek all the time? There's got to be a reason.
I saw Jenny smiling as she held onto him from behind. "C'mon, Jenny, you know better than this!"
Jenny jumps off right when they stop at the school. "Thanks!" She joyfully says, "I totes owe you one." They even high-five. Jenny! "Later!"
Good, at least she's leaving now.
"Ahem," he coughed, "The helmet?"
Jenny walked back. "Duh! My bad!" She lifted it off and handed back to him. "Sorry."
I saw Jenny scratch her head. "Oh no! I forgot." The Serpent told that he had spiked that helmet with head lice! Oh, poor Jenny, she doesn't seem to realize.
"Thanks again for helping me out. One more time and they were going to suspend me or something." When Jenny finally ran off to class, The Serpent pulled out a plastic bag with a toxic symbol on it. "Silly girl." He muttered from underneath his own helmet. "There are far worse things than suspension."
"Yeah! And one of them's gonna have you crawling like a tazelwurm when this is over!"
The Serpent looked down to his jacket pocket and lowered the mouth of his helmet which looked like a jaw. "Did you hear that Nora? Oh, I forgot I can't hear you~! Aw, but don't worry! Hmhm, the fun is just getting started."
So he has more planned. I should just go. But where? Even if I go back to Coral Grove I'll still have to listen to what he's doing. And even if Lee can somehow tell when I'm in the Reality Border, he doesn't understand it. So, strategically and begrudgingly, I follow The Serpent to watch his plan unfold.
He hides his bike a short walk from the school where nobody can see it. I silently hope somebody gets the nerve to steal or bang it up. He casually walks up to the front gate of the school and the hazmats stand at attention to let him in, unscanned. I follow, floating in case this guy decides to move fast. "I just got into school without having my eyes burned." He says to the hidden phone. "That might hurt a little to do it so often. Lucky me~!" Yeah, yeah, keep talking. I'm closer than you think. "I realize a date into your school isn't the most traditional idea. But I have such big plans that I think you will have almost as much fun as me." I throw punch at his head that just goes straight through him.
It's eight-thirty so the news turns on. I watch, happy to see Tina. She reports the top story.
"Yesterday in a shocking turn of events, our School President was suspended and deposed for cheating." That tells me that Grayson didn't get caught for what he did. Now Cam is suspended, so he won't be around today. I keep following the school's intruder and listening to the news to hear what else I may have missed.
"Yeah, I get why Cam, the former-man, cheated." Says Chaz. "I mean who doesn't am I right? But to get caught? Bad form! I'd like a leader who can cheat and get away with it."
"Such a fool." That is hopefully the last statement I will ever agree with The Serpent on. Where is he even going?
A part of me, who isn't angry, irritated and paranoid, actually feels really happy to see this place again. These familiar halls, lockers, floors... I could feel that this place was different from the one I recreated in my dream. With the classes going, the halls were completely empty, but it still felt like I had come home. "I'm not actually back." I remind myself. "No one can see me here. But it is good to be updated!"
I wasn't paying attention to the news until I heard- "Our new President, Beth!"
"Huh?" Who's Beth?
Up behind Chaz and Tina walked a girl with a wizard hat, blond braids and braces that were clearly not clean. I watched the screen for a few more seconds before deciding. "This could be a problem for the school. But it doesn't outweigh the trouble brewing now. Sorry, Tina."
I caught what Tina said about there being more than one Principal and wondered how that happened. I kept listening and following The Serpent as he slunk around the corner. I caught Chaz interviewing Brandy like she was a widow, and was glad when Tina pointed out the lice. "Brandy comes off as a Glamazon-brat. But she honestly does care about Cam." I looked ahead to see where Serpent was going.
"He's headed for Lee's class!" I was going to follow him, "Wait a minute. He is solid, I'm intangible. I'll race you there!" I flew through the walls until I was in the right room. "Yes!" I flew behind Lee who was looking at his phone. "Hey, buddy. Let's see what you're looking at."
I couldn't believe it. When did they set a spy-cam in The Serpent's office? Biffy had talked about something like this before, but I couldn't believe they actually did it! "Man, go to prison and you miss everything!" I knew they could handle well without me. Hey! Maybe they know I'm already in Coral Grove! Serpent always contacted me from his computer, depending on what they could see from it they could see him talking to me. I definitely had yelled loud enough, and The Serpent had said my name several times. But then… why would they be so convinced I was dead? Lee had jumped to conclusions again.
Priscilla was slithering in front of the camera and knocked it to the side a bit. "Hey!" When she did it gave us a view of The Serpent's desk. There were several, probably secretly taken, pictures of Lee and his parents. And one… "Is that my Brick McSlam electric toothbrush?"
"Okay, that's just plain petty and immature." I looked up from Lee to see a certain someone peeking in from the door. I reluctantly went back over to him. He was the guy playing everyone. As he walked down the hallway he took out another phone. "If you're still listening, Nora, here comes an important part of our play you won't want to miss." He laughed, and dialed a number on his phone. "Hello? I'm calling to report an outbreak."
He gives everyone lice, and then calls in someone to help get rid of them? I come here for answers, and now I have new question again.
"What are you up to, Serpent?"
To Be Continued...
Review and the next chapter will come...
Can Nora do anything now that she can observe what is going on in the outside world?
Will she be able to change the outcome of the episode?
Until then!
