Here's the next chapter! Enjoy!
The next day at school, sign-ups for the events of the sports festival were taking place. Aika was writing down her peers' names under the event they volunteered for. Issei didn't pay attention, sulking down at her desk with a hand resting on her cheek. Jeez, I didn't know Ddraig could be THAT sensitive... she thought before sighing. I guess you can never know what'll happen in your life. Suddenly, she remembered Diodara from yesterday, her looking serious now. After all this time, that good-looking creep appeared and wanted to marry Asia-chan. She clenched one of her fists. Totally suspicious. I swear, if he appears again, I'll- All of a sudden...Raynare as Yuuma appeared, making her feel more upset. Why am I thinking of her again? Because I beat the shit out of her for what she's done? Well, maybe I could do the same to him when he-
"Isseeeeiii-chaaaaan," Aika called out, waving to her.
She broke out of her thoughts and replied in a rather cold tone, "What?"
She was taken aback. "Jeez, I was just going to say that there's a fly on your arm."
She looked confused, taking a look at her arm. She raised it up to see if it crawled anywhere else. "I don't see any flies, Aika-"
"Aaaaand it's decided!" She looked to see her friend write up her name on the chalkboard. "You'll be participating in the three-legged race!" She looked pretty annoyed that her friend tricked her like that just so she had to participate in something. What a...a...wait, why was she acting like this again? What was going on with her...?
"And your partner will be Asia-chan!" she announced as she wrote her name on the board. "It's decided!" Issei saw her "sister" raise her hand, who was smiling at her. She gave her a half-assed one before looking away. That made the blonde-haired girl wonder why she was acting like this.
Later, everyone was in their gym uniforms and out on the track field, some practicing for the events they'll participate in. Everyone saw Xenovia and Irina run very fast, even awing Issei herself, with her hair in its ponytail since she was in her gym uniform. Well, that's to be expected of a devil and an angel... she thought.
"Wow, they CAN run, can they?" Aika asked rhetorically before grinning as she and her friend saw the Perverted Duo look defeated. "Too fast for those losers to check out."
The perverted devil grinned at that. "Yeah." At least she was feeling a bit better than before. She frowned and crossed her arms when she thought of something. "Why do I have to participate in an event?"
She glared at her. "You have to."
She gave her a side look. "That was a rhetorical question."
She sighed in relief. "And here I thought you were still in your bad mood." She wrapped her arm around her shoulder. "Good to see you're feeling better." Despite her being who she was, Aika was anything but heartless. She could show that she cared, in her own way. "So, while I look for some nice boy-on-boy action, why don't you try and find Kiba-kun, hmm~?"
She blushed, but looking for him seemed like the best idea at the moment, so she nodded. "You think I won't?"
Aika laughed. "Good luck." However, before she left, she looked at Issei's chest for a second, looking a bit baffled. This confused her.
"Aika-chan?"
She snickered, having that glint in her glasses as she adjusted them. "I see that your boobs have grown over the summer."
She blushed again, hard. "Wh-what?!"
"They're bigger than mine, about a C now! Congrats!" Her breasts GREW over the summer? She couldn't believe that herself.
"N-no they didn't!"
"Oh yeah, they did! Look in a mirror sometime!" She'd have to just to check that Aika wasn't really screwing with her. "Or maybe you can check with Kiba-kun~." She grinned and adjusted her glasses, still having that glint.
Issei blushed harder than before. Should she, though? She didn't want to make him uncomfortable...but at the same time, they have seen each other naked...
"Hyoudou?" asked a familiar voice. Losing her blush, she turned to see Saji with measuring tape approaching her and Aika. He was smiling.
"Saji?"
Aika stretched a little. "Well, I'm off to see some hot guys in action," she stated before wandering off. "See ya, Issei-chan."
The light-brown-haired guys sweat-dropped at that. "Well, that's to be expected of one of the Female Perverted Duo." He then looked at the brown-haired girl. "What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to find Yuuto-kun," she answered, making him look puzzled and point the measuring tape at her.
"Aren't you two in different classes?"
It was a shame that they were... "Yeah, but I still wanna find him."
He sighed, looking down in shame. "If only I had a girlfriend myself..." he muttered under his breath. She looked at him and blinked. Was he jealous of Yuuto being in a relationship with her? He then looked up at her and asked, "Well, I'm just curious, Hyoudou, but what event are you gonna participate in?"
"Oh, the three-legged race with Asia-chan."
He looked quite jealous before getting rid of that expression and pointing at himself. "I'm in the bread-eating race, so-"
"Saji," Sona's voice called from afar. He froze and looked back at his master. "What are you doing?"
"I, uh, I was just..." he was trying to answer, stammering.
She and Tsubaki gave him a stern look. "Please go back to work. The student council lacks enough manpower as it is."
"Y-yes, President! Vice-President!" As he ran off, he looked back at Issei and said, "Don't you and him get into any trouble!" She blushed and sweat-dropped, knowing what he was talking about.
"Issei-san!" called out Asia. She looked back and saw her "sister" run to her.
She completely turned to her and greeted, "Hey, Asia-chan."
She stopped in front of her. "I was wondering if we could practice this three-legged race thing together." So she wasn't going to find Yuuto, after all...she couldn't just bail on her "sister" for him.
She gave her a wry smile and replied, "Sure. Just let me go get the band."
...
As she tied their ankles together, Asia looked at the other students participating in the same event practice. Some of them were doing it while others failed. "There are some students who are very good at it..." she stated. "It looks really difficult if you're not in-sync though."
Issei nodded, tying the band around their ankles tight before standing up. "Right, but with practice, we'll get it," she said, smiling down at her. "Let's go, Asia-chan."
She nodded. "Okay." They both held each other's shoulders.
"Let's start by walking slowly first." She nodded again before they both got their foot up first. "One-two-" Issei raised her tied foot, but Asia didn't, making them both cry out and fall down. The female pervert sighed and stood up, thinking, I'll have to match Asia-chan's walking style if we're gonna do this.
The former nun was frowning, standing up and dusting herself off. "I'm sorry..." she meekly said. "I'm not very good at sports."
Issei looked at her reassuringly and replied, "It's alright. No one's perfect." She then held her shoulder again. "Let's try again, but this time, let's count together."
She smiled at her and did the same. "Okay, Issei-san."
They both then began to walk in-sync, counting out loud, "One-two, one-two..." Eventually, they were able to walk up to ten steps.
...
From afar, Yuuto was practicing tug-of-war with some girls that asked him to help them. He was just done practicing for the bread-eating race, so he had the time to spare. All four of them were pulling to the left while he was pulling to the right. Though he wasn't the strongest, he managed to make those girls struggle to pull to the left. "This is soooo haaaard!" one of them whined.
"Why, Kiba-kuuun?!" whined another.
"It's like pulling a wall..." muttered yet another.
"Why can't you go easy on us...?" asked the last girl.
He chuckled. "Tug-of-war is not an easy game, ladies," he answered. "I'm just giving you the experience so that you know what to do when you actually play it." The girls frowned, puffing out their cheeks.
As he grinned, he suddenly spotted Issei and Asia tripping and falling down. They got up and practiced walking before running. He smiled, glad to see her practice an event like that with her. Ah, if only they were in the same class together...
The girls noticed him looking at Issei, looking jealous as they all gave one hard pull, making Yuuto stumble and fall on the ground. They all grinned at their success as he focused on them, stood up, grabbed the rope, and pulled again.
"Thank you for everything, Issei-onee-sama," Asia said, bowing down to the brown-haired female. When she stopped bowing, she wore...what brides would wear during Shinto weddings. "I'm going to be a wife today."
She looked shocked to hear that. "What?!" she exclaimed. She then heard her mom cry, seeing her and her dad dressed in black traditional outfits.
"Oh, Asia-chan..." her mother murmured. "You look so beautiful." She sniffled as her husband rubbed her shoulder. "You've grown so beautifully."
"Mom? Dad?!" What the hell was-
"Asia," said Rias, walking to her with Akeno. They both looked like they were about to cry. "You can come back and visit us at anytime, okay?" What?
"Don't worry about what happens to us, Asia-chan~," Akeno added. WHAT?
Suddenly, Yuuto appeared right next to Issei, looking happy for Asia as he said, "I hope your husband treats you well like I treat Issei-chan." WHY WAS HE SUPPORTING THIS, WHATEVER WAS GOING ON?!
"Wait, hold on! What's going on?! You're getting MARRIED?!" she exclaimed.
"Issei-chan! You should say something to Asia-chan as well! Isn't she like a little sister to you?" her mom suggested.
She frowned and looked at Asia. "W-well, who's the groom?" She regretted asking that because she already knew the answer.
"Onee-sama," Diodara said, scooping Asia up from her feet. He smiled at her. "Please leave my lovely Asia to me. A rich, high-class devil is the man she needs to be happy." She couldn't believe this. He and his bride looked at each other...lovingly. "Come on then, it's time for the ceremony. Let's go into our bright future!"
"Of course!" She then looked at her "sister" and waved at her. "Thank you for being the best sister I could have, Issei-onee-sama!"
She looked horrified and ran to them. "Wait!" Before she could reach them, they both disappeared. She never felt so confused and so...angry at the same time. She clenched her fists and yelled, "As your onee-sama, I OBJECT this marriage! I WON'T LET YOU MARRY THAT DOUCHEBAG!" She charged towards where they disappeared at. "ASIA-CHAN!"
Her eyes shot open to meet with Yuuto's grayish-blue ones. He looked worried. "Are you alright, Issei-chan?" he asked. "You moved around a lot in your sleep."
She felt calm being with him like this, her sighing and closing her eyes. "I...I had a dream about Asia-chan getting married."
He looked confused. "What? Why?"
That's right, she didn't tell him. So she told him about Diodara's visit and his proclamation to marry the former nun. "And while he was doing all of this, I kept telling him to go away, but it's like I'm not even there." She groaned, flopping her head on one of the pillows. "Asia-chan doesn't seem to want to marry him though, so, I mean, it's not unreasonable to feel this way..." She looked at her boyfriend. "Right?"
He smiled and held her close. "You were always protective of all of us, Issei-chan," he replied. "This is no different, especially since you and her are great friends." She smiled back at him. "But..." Her smile disappeared as well as his. "Asia is her own person. I don't think you should make decisions for her."
She pouted at him. "I told you, she didn't seem to like him."
"But I'm just saying this for future reference."
She sighed and sat up. "We'll worry about the future later, Yuuto-kun. Right now, she doesn't like him and I'll make sure he doesn't marry her out of nowhere."
He also sighed and sat up as well. "What if she changes her mind?"
She looked at him in disbelief. "What?"
"What if she changes her mind, Issei-chan? This is Diodara Astaroth we're talking about, right? He's not without manners. Maybe Asia might be swooned by him-"
She couldn't believe Yuuto would say this. How dare he...? "He's a DOUCHEBAG and I know it."
He gave her a disapproving look. "You don't know him-"
"Neither do you!"
He crossed his arms. "No, not personally, but I know about him. He's not like that. The Astaroth family are well-honored."
She rolled her eyes at him. "So was the Phoenix family, but look at Riser when he was engaged to President!"
"But he wasn't raised the same as Diodara! He wasn't sheltered like he was!"
She clenched her fists. "Asia-chan still won't marry him!"
"That's not your choice to make! It's Asia-chan's!"
The female pervert was in utter disbelief that this was happening, being more mad than before. "I thought you would understand me."
He looked at her sternly. "I said that you were always protective-"
She scoffed. "Probably in a bad way."
Now he looked baffled. "Issei-chan-"
She then stood up from her bed and said, "I need to go to the bathroom. Don't follow me, I can't deal with you right now." She then stormed out of the room in a huff.
"Issei-chan!" Yuuto called out before she slammed the door. He sighed once more and face-palmed. His fingers on his temples, he looked down and frowned. They weren't without their conflicts, but...this had to be their worst one. It wasn't resolved and Issei was definitely mad at him. He wasn't unreasonable to tell her that the decision rests on Asia, by the end of the day. Maybe there was something he said wrong to set her off like that...?
...
Issei stormed around the bathroom, fuming about her argument with Yuuto. Why would he say all of that? He didn't know him! He COULD be a douchebag, like he was before. And suggesting that Asia MIGHT fall for him, how stupid! She NEVER thought Yuuto would be stupid once! Well, he was stupid now, saying all that bull-
The door suddenly opened, making her stop and look at Gasper in a black and purple night gown. He looked surprised to see her in there, asking, "Issei-senpai? You're up?"
She sighed, steadily feeling calm. "Yeah...I, uh..." She nervously smiled and twirled a part of her hair. "Just needed to go, you know?"
He blushed a little, but nodded. "R-right..." He just came there just to sit around because he just couldn't sleep.
She then walked out of the bathroom. "See you in the morning."
"Y-yeah..." She then just left. He sighed, thinking that could have gone in a bad direction. It was still odd to see her up this late...
Meanwhile, she was wondering whether or not to go back into bed with Yuuto. After that argument, she was still feeling mad at him. She thought it would get worse, so she went downstairs to sleep on one of the couches.
...
Later in the morning, everyone was dressed and eating the breakfast Akeno cooked up for them. The peerage thought it was a strange sight to see Issei and Yuuto sitting apart from each other, rather than close. They weren't even looking at each other...they looked solemn. They were concerned for the both of them, Asia asking, "Are you two alright?"
They both looked at her and answered at the same time, "Yes." They both looked at each other, frowning and returning to eat their food. That looked pretty suspicious to the rest of the group.
"You two don't look alright," Xenovia stated.
"You both know that you can be honest with us," Rias added before taking a sip of her tea.
"Well...I'm alright," Issei replied, giving her a half-assed smile. "I just feel a bit off this morning, that's all."
Yuuto decided to steal that and add, "I, uh, feel a little off as well. I don't know why, but I'll be fine." They both nervously chuckled at the same time, making things more awkward.
Everyone blinked, then Rias said, "Okay, whatever you two say." Breakfast went on without any more conversations.
...
After breakfast, Asia was presented with numerous letters on the coffee table. "Letters?" Issei asked, sitting next to her.
On another couch, Rias nodded. "Yes, they're all directed towards Asia, sent by Diodara Astaroth," she answered. She sighed heavily, feeling upset about this.
Asia looked somber about this, adding, "Ever since that day, he's been sending me something daily."
"Like movie tickets, dinner invitations, gifts, and large items, even."
She looked guilty. "I'm sorry..."
Both of the girls looked at her reassuringly. "Don't be. It's not your fault." Rias looked down at the letters. "Ara, how troublesome he can be..."
Issei huffed and crossed her arms, mumbling, "That's an understatement..."
She looked up at her in concern. "What was that, Issei?"
She tensed up and tried to look coy, waving her hands around. "Oh, it's nothing." She then looked at the letters with sharp eyes. He tries to propose to her, then does shit like this! she thought, trying her best not to look obviously angry to the other girls. Who the hell does he think he is?!
Rias frowned, seeing the look in her eyes. Her worry for her grew, first acting odd during breakfast, now this. For the moment, she let it go and looked at Asia. "I'll dispose of these for you."
Her face lit up in relief. "Oh, thank you, President-onee-sama!"
Issei was relieved about that too. "Seems like the right thing to do." She then stood up, her "sister" following suit. "We're gonna go practice for the sports festival."
The crimson-haired beauty gave them both a smile. "Alright. Give it your best effort."
They smiled back at her. "Yes, m'am!" They both then left.
She frowned, her thoughts about Issei's behavior coming back. That look in her eyes weren't of annoyance, she would know, a look of annoyance from her never looked intense. It was like...she was legitimately furious. It was rare to see outside of battles. What was going on with her? Diodara must have not done something drastic to make her look like that...
"President?" Yuuto's voice asked. She looked back, making the letters disappear in a magic circle without looking.
"Yes, Yuuto?"
He was frowning, having her be concerned about him now. "I need to talk to you about something." She was curious. Maybe it was about their behavior this morning?
On the track field, the two girls were practicing, counting out loud and having Xenovia clap for every step they made. They stopped at Xenovia's 12th clap, taking a breath. "Alright, you guys are doing good," the blue-haired girl said in encouragement.
Both the girls smiled up at her. "Thanks," Issei replied.
"Sorry for having you help us practice," Asia added.
She gave her a reassuring look. "Oh no, don't worry about it. I got the time." She placed her hands on her hips. "How about a light jog this time?"
The brown-haired girl nodded. "Yeah." She then looked down at the blonde-haired girl. "Are you ready, Asia-chan?" Her smile disappeared when she saw that her face looked somber. "Asia-chan?"
She broke out of her somber face and looked up at her with a smile. "Oh, yes!"
She still looked concerned. "Is something wrong?"
Asia took a deep breath, smiling again. "I just wanted to say that...I never regretted saving Diodara at the time." Issei felt tense when she heard that (for some reason she didn't even know), but then she continued, "But I love being at Kuoh Academy..." She looked down. "And I love everyone in the Occult Research Club, and your parents. I can't imagine not having you around as well, Issei-san." She gasped, looking heart-warmed at that. "To me, you're the best onee-sama I could have."
She smiled and hugged her, the blonde returning it. "Aww, Asia-chan! You'll make me cry!" She giggled at that.
"I don't mean to, but it's true. I'm not going anywhere." That was more than relieving to hear.
Xenovia was smiling at this and...Irina suddenly appeared, wiping her tears with a handkerchief. "Look at this sisterly love..." she said. "It's beautiful."
Both of them broke out of their hugs, shooting shocked glances at the angel. "Irina?!" Issei exclaimed. "Where did you come from?"
She giggled and put her handkerchief away in the pocket of her skirt. "Ah, Xenovia-chan told me that Kuoh Academy is nice early in the morning. I came, but I never thought I'd see a wonderful friendship!" She put her hands together. "This must be the will of God and Michael-sama." She motioned a cross with her finger and had her hands in prayer, her eyes closed. "Amen." The rest of the girls smiled at her, the moment being happy at the moment.
Something did come up in Asia's mind and she needed an answer for it, so she looked up at her sister and asked, "Issei-san?"
She looked down at her and said, "Yes, Asia-chan?"
She frowned again, making her look concerned. "Why were you and Kiba-san acting weird this morning?" She looked a little surprised that she asked.
"Actually, I wanna know too," Xenovia said, crossing her arms and dropping her smile. "You two weren't even sitting next to each other this morning."
Irina also looked concerned and nodded. "Yeah, aren't you two always lovey-dovey and happy with each other? Xenovia-chan and Asia-chan told me."
She sighed and crossed her arms, knowing she'll have to confront that at some point. "I, uh..." She sighed again. "Yuuto-kun and I had an argument last night."
The girls looked shocked at this, Asia and Irina exclaiming, "What?!"
"What was it about?"
Issei then proceeded to explain to the girls what happened and how it ended. The girls looked saddened to hear this, especially Asia. "You two argued...because of me?"
She nodded, frowning. "Sorry."
She shook her head. "No, don't be. It's just..." She frowned and looked down at the ground, fiddling with her fingers a little.
"W-well, couples argue!" Irina blurted out. "My parents argue and they're still together!" She tried to give her a face of reassurance. "So, I mean, it's not the end of your relationship, right?"
"Or it could be," Xenovia said bluntly, making Issei feel worse.
The chestnut-haired girl pouted at her. "Xenovia-chan!"
She looked back at her. "What? I'm just saying."
"But I'm trying to cheer her up!"
While they were arguing, Asia finally collected her thoughts and tugged her "sister's" sleeve. "Issei-san." She just looked down at her. "I meant what I said earlier, but...I know where Kiba-san is coming from." Issei looked shocked to hear her say that before her little "sister" smiled. "I really do appreciate you wanting to protect me, especially from him." Her smile then disappeared. "But now that he mentioned it, I don't want you to control everything I do."
Issei looked saddened to hear this. "I'm not trying to, Asia-chan. I just-"
She gave her a reassuring look. "It's okay. Just know that if anything falls on me, let me take care of it. If I need your help with it, I'll ask. Do you understand?" She could feel her irritation growing, but she was trying her damndest to bury it. But...maybe she's right. No, not maybe...she IS right. She realized that Yuuto did have a point and she added more to it. She was the one that acted unreasonable last night.
She nodded and answered, "Yeah, I understand." Her smile grew, making her smile back.
All of a sudden, a voice asked, "Issei-chan?" Xenovia and Irina stopped arguing and all the girls looked to see Yuuto approaching not too far from them. Issei's smile fell from her face as she undid the band tying her ankle with Asia's.
"We'll practice later, okay?" she told her.
"Oh, okay," Asia replied. When they were free, she began to jog to her boyfriend, the rest of the girls watching.
They both stopped when they were close to each other, Yuuto just a little shocked that she was approaching him too. However, he sighed and said, "We need to talk."
Issei nodded, frowning and looking away from him. "Yeah...we have to." So they both knew what was on their minds then...
