Chapter 25: Shadow of a Doubt Part 1

In the Satellite strange purple lights were coming down from the sky and appeared from the lights were Martha, Rally, Blitz, Nervin, and Tank. "Oh where are we?" Martha asked. She looked at herself. "We're okay now."

She then noticed that she wasn't anywhere near the orphan house. "Wait where is Yusei?" She asked.

meanwhile Jack drove his way to the Hummingbird Tower. (Don't you worry Carly if you're out there then nothing gonna stop me from finding you.)" He thought.

He stop and noticed the tower where Carly is. "(Hmm this must it hang on Carly I'll save you.)"

He wondered why she became a Dark Signer as he looked at Carly's broken glasses.

He drove closer to the tower and he looked around. "Hey Carly I'm here to help you!" He called out.

Then he heard a engine sound and from behind the tower came Carly on a black Duel Runner. She stops in front of Jack and takes off her helmet. "I've been waiting for you Jackie." She answered with an evil smirk.

"Carly who did this to you?" Jack asked the female reporter. "Who, you did this to me Jack." Carly replied. "You're mistaken I've come here to save you." Jack said.

"Please you pushed me away I was trying to be help you but in the end you told me to go away." Carly said looking mad. "Carly don't you see I was just trying to protect you if you got into this battle you would've gotten hurt." Jack explained.

"Well you failed and now its time to even the score." Carly said. "Face it Jack I'm a Dark Signer because of you."

"Wrong but I'm going to be the reason to release you from this darkness inside of you." Jack said. "Really well I'm afraid there's only one way to do that Jackie and incase you're in the dark.." Carly said as she rose her right arm which glowed. "Allow me to enlighten you."

Then the Hummingbird Geogylph appeared from the ground. "The stage is set." Carly said as she put her helmet back on.

"Now only one thing remains we Duel but I must warn this goes both ways so if I win I'll go back to the way I was but if you lose you become a Dark Signer like me, so what you did say?" Carly asked. "I say bring it!" Jack replied out loud.

meanwhile Mina, Akiza, Slippy, and Miles were not too far away from the Hummingbird Tower and when they saw the mark of the Hummingbird Mina stopped her car.

"Hey look that!" Slippy said. "Someone must be dueling the Dark Signer that bares the mark of the Hummingbird." Miles said. "It must be Jack." Mina said.

Carly and Jack drove along in the Hummingbird's Geogylph. "I'm pleased that you accepted my challenge Jackie a pro Duelist going up against a amatur like me for a minute there I was afraid that I thougt you facing me would be hard for you." Carly said.

"Why is that." Jack asked. "Oh the same Jack Atlas aggroant until the very end and this will be the end for you." Carly answered.

"I activate the Spell World field Spell."

"Fine with me so let's duel." Jack said activating his Duel Runner's duel mode. "Oh the irony before I was chasing after you and hanging off your every word but no things changed now you're the one desprate." Carly said.

"That's right desprate to get the Carly I know and I'm not going to deny it." Jack said.

Let's duel!" They proclaimed.

Jack: 4000

Carly: 4000

"Whoever gets to the first corner gets to have the first move." Carly explained. "(If that's how you want to play it fine time to take in this in overdrive.)" Jack thought as he drove on. He almost made it until Carly drove next to Jack's Runner knocked him close to the purple wall.

"Something wrong Jackie?" Carly giggled. "I draw first."

"I summon Fortune Lady Light in Defense mode."

"So Jackie looks like my first move has been made time to see what my deck has planned for you next." Carly said looking at her cards and she picked one up.

"(This card.)" She thought

as flashback scene.

"How long will they keep me in this dark room?" Carly asked. "Since you asked I'll tell you the answer is in the cards." A voice said. "The cards?" She asked frightenly. "Dear sweet innocent Carly you should look and your question will be revealed." The voice explained. Carly picked up her deck and looked at one that began to glow.

Carly laughed. "I'll place one card face down and end my turn so show me what you got."

"With pleasure I draw." Jack said drawing a card. He looked at his card. "I'll pass this turn."

"What that's it, you're not going to summon a monster." Carly said. "oh wait you must feel gulity for what you did by giving me the cold shoulder when I needed you the most well that's too bad."

Carly drew her card.

Fortune Lady Light Defense 400

"Since you won't attack I'll be attacking you directly so my sacrificing my Lady Light I'll summon Fortune Lady Earth and that's not all when Lady Light leaves the field I can summon another monster from my deck as long it has the name Fortune Lady." Carly explained. "Also their attack points are the same as their level multiple by 400 and since Earth's level 6 and Dark's level is 5 well you can do the math."

Fortune Lady Earth Attack 2400

Fortune Lady Dark Attack 2000

"That means I'll lose the duel." Jack said. "This is going to hurt."

"Ha I'm counting on that so Fortune Lady Earth attack Jack directly!" Carly commanded. Lady Earth attacked with her staff and thorns appeared from the ground hitting Jack's runner and making go out of control.

Jack: 1600

"Its not over so Lady Dark finish Jack off." Carly commanded. Lady Dark swung her staff and fired a dark magic. "Do whatever you must." Jack said quietly.

Flashback scene.

Carly was putting a bandage on his right arm. "There all bandaged up you'll be fine." She said smiling.

end of flashback.

"I believe that the real Carly in still deep inside you." Jack said as he picked up a monster card. "So I must keep finding a way to bring her back and do away with you so I summon Crying Orge in attak mode."

Crying Orge Attack 0

"unfortunately for you the same amount of damage I took is added to Crying Ogre's attack points." Jack explained.

Crying Ogre Attack 2400

"since you're attacking me again with another monster Crying Ogre will attack your Lady Dark." Jack explained as the Ogre struck it's club at Fortune Lady Dark.

Carly: 3600

"Well well Jackie boy looks like you're going to put up a fight after all in that case I'll place this card down and end my turn." Carly said.

"also it's better this way after all we've been through together it would be such a shame to take you down without some resistment and I've something that'll make you squirm big time."

meanwhile back where Akiza continued to look at her Signer Mark which was still glowing. "(Jack maybe the best duelist in the world but since he's facing a Dark Signer that might not be enough cause Dark Signers duel on a different level and they play for keeps.)"

"I hope Jack will be okay." She said. "Of course he'll will as long as he plays his game right he'll come out okay." Mina said. "(Secretly I hope he can stay focused.)"

A flashback scene.

Jack had Carly's glasses and he looked at them.

"(After all he's had a lot on his mind lately.)" Mina thought.

back at the Shadow Duel between Carly and Jack.

"It's my move." Jack proclaimed drawing his card.

"(Crying Ogre and Fortune Lady Earth have the same attack points which means they'll both be destroyed but that's about to change.)" He thought. "I summon Power Supplier in defense mode.

Power Supplier Defense 400

"Due to Power Supplier's special ability Crying Ogre gains 400 attack points." Jack explained.

"Not so fast Jackie I activate the trap Bending Destiny returns your monster back to your hand." Carly explained. "No way!" Jack exclaimed. "I'm afraid so and negates power Supplier's summoning.

"(Not good not only will Crying Ogre will be useless this turn but on Carly's next turn her Lady Earth will power up again and Crying Ogre will be sitting Duck.)" The ex-champion thought.

Jack looked at cards that were in his hand. "I end my turn with one face down."

"Another lame move I'd excepted something more well let me show you how it's done and now I hope you're ready so I draw." Carly said. "Oh second thought no one will be ready what I have to play."

"Quit your yapping and duel." Jack spat.

"Very well then now my Fortune Lady Earth's level increases and so does her attack points to total of 2800." Carly said.

Fortune Lady Earth Attack 2800

"Remember my Fortune Lady's ability, oh wait you're sick of my yapping so you'll remember what happens so she'll attack your Crying Ogre." Carly said.

Lady Earth fired a stream of light energy Jack. "Arrgh." Jack groaned in pain.

Jack: 1200

"Now my Lady Earth destroy Crying Ogre!" Carly commanded. Lady Earth then swung her staff on the ground and bunch of thorns destroyed Crying Ogre.

Jack: 800

Jack stopped his Duel Runner and Carly drove back to him then laughed. "That's right go ahead and laugh while you can." Jack spat. "Oh come on Jackie you've lost your sense of humor already, we've only just begun." Carly said. "Did we, but remember there's still a long way to go and its going to be rough way for you." Jack said pointing at Carly.

"You still don't get it do you, the question of who loses this duel has been answer by the cards just as the question why was I chosen to be a Dark Signer was also answered by the cards but you don't have to take my word for it the cards will speak for themselves." Carly explained.

"You've gone daft." Jack said. "Don't believe me well then take a look yourself, I activate my trap." Carly said revealing her trap which emitted a light which blinded Jack.

meanwhile at the original Reactor the Trudge and twins were looking down the doorway to Netherworld. "Yusei is..is." Leo began to say. "He's gone." Luna added as Crow, Cosmo and Shadow approached behind them.

"Oh no." Cosmo said. "Yusei!" Crow called out. "No Yusei has to be alright!" Leo cried. "He will be he's tough guy." Crow said.

Shadow and Cosmo then heard a voice. "My two children Yusei needs your help."

Shadow and Cosmo gasped which made their jump. "What is it?" Trudge asked. Shadow and Cosmo didn't hesitate so they jumped where Yusei fell causing their friends to gasp.

"What did they do that for?" Luna asked.

Yusei was in a dark place and he began to wake up. "I'm still in one peace but where am I." Yusei said.

Suddenly a bunch of ghost figures came out of the ground. "Where are these things coming from?" Yusei asked.

one of the ghosts grabbed Yusei's arm. "Let me go!" He screamed. The ghost figures wouldn't back off as they moved closer to Yusei. "Stay back!"

Then another ghost grabbed his right arm which made his Dragon Mark glow and then he saw a vision which was the incident of the Ener-D Reactor splitting the Satellite and New Domino City apart.

Yusei then realized something." Wait a second are these the people that disappeared when the original Ener-D Reactor has it's meltdown?" He wondered.

"If they are they're don't seem be big fans of me that's for sure." Yusei said as he realized that he was sinking into the ground.

meanwhile back at Jack and Carly's Turbo Duel.

Jack began to wake up and he saw Carly watching. "Jackie wake up wake up.

Jack sat up. "Hey don't feel groggy I felt it too after." Carly said. "After what?" Jack asked.

"After I became a Dark Signer, of course." Carly answered. Jack then noticed a the Hummingbird Mark on his right arm. "No this can't be." Jack said. "It can be I introduce you to the shadows." Carly said.

Jack then noticed his eyes were totally black. "My eyes are black as the night."

"An improvement I'd say I did try to warn you, but don't you remember?" Carly said.

flashback scene

Jack was defeated by Carly's Fortune Lady Earth's attack.

Jack: 0

Jack fell off his Duel Runner and collapsed as Carly walked towards him. Carly took him in her arms then and Jack then changed into a Dark Signer.

"Your transformation is complete and so is the rest of the world." Carly said.

end of flashback.

"How does me becoming a Dark Signer effect the world?" Jack asked. "In everyway you can imagine, your allegiance to the shadows has shifted the balance of nature now the oceans boil and skies are forever dark." Carly explained.

"Its..its.." Jack began to say.

"Beautiful." Carly finished. "Of course the Signers disagree but they can only challenge us for 5000 years they'll just have to deal with it or pay the price like their monsters have and its a steep price at that."

Then Red Dragon Archfiend, Black Rose Dragon, Ancient Fairy Dragon, and Stardust Dragon get destroyed by the flames and Crimson Dragon disappeared as Carly and Jack watched then laughed evilly.

"I think its all coming back to me all the destruction all the devastation all paving the way to this delightful new paradise." Jack said.

"Paradise indeed cause in this world you're the supreme Ruler, the Dark King, everything in this world is yours." Carly added.

"As it should be, what a fool I was before my former self counting on friend fighting for what's good what a joke this is where I belong a place this is what destiny had in for me." Jack said wickedly.

"How right you are and it was in the cards like I always said." Carly said. "Actually it was one card to be exact Enlightenment."

Flashback scene.

"It changed everything, remember Jack?" Carly said. Jack looked at her and realized what she was talking about. "That's right this card is the that made me realize why was I chosen to be a Dark Signer and the reason was to face you in a duel then defeat so you can see your true destiny and become the Dark King." She explained. "How fitting it was that this card was I used to do it so when your monster was destroyed by my Lady Earth I was able to activate the trap Enlightenment so Earth was able attack again."

Jack remembered and Carly's broken glasses fell out of Jack's shirt.

end of flashback and back to the illusion world.

Jack and Carly were on a throne transported by zombie like creatures. "Enough about the past that is all history and as you can see that time is no more." Carly said. "Indeed that is." Jack said. Then he noticed broken glasses on the ground.

"(Hey those are Carly's glasses, but how are those?)" Jack thought. He then realized something. "Wait a minute this was a trick we're still the present." Jack spat.

Carly gasped.

Jack went back to his duel. "Meaning I can activate this Changing Destiny this trap can negate your monsters attack."

Lady Earth's attack was blocked and Carly's trap disappeared.

"Wait that maybe an illusion but it could be a reality, don't you see that can be your destiny if you can give into the darkness." Carly said.

Jack then picked up Carly's broken glasses. "I'm not giving in to anything I want to bring back the real Carly."

Carly gasped. "So get ready." Jack said.

back at original Reactor Yusei was in the Netherworld and being dragged into the ground as the lost souls continued to gather him. Not too far away Shadow and Cosmo were flying towards their friend but then their dueling Decks flew out of their Deck holders. They gasped and their cards disappeared.

"Stand down lost spirits of the Netherworld." A voice rang out. Yusei opened his eyes. "His time is not up."

The lost spirits then vanished just as Shadow and Cosmo approached. "What you two doing here?" Yusei asked. "Whose that? Cosmo asked pointing at a figure. "Yusei there's still much for you to do back in the Satellite Sector." The figure said.

"Who are you?" Yusei asked. "Someone not to be questioned." The figure replied as a bright light appeared causing Yusei, Cosmo, and Shadow to close their eyes.
