Desiree could not help, but let the tears fall down her cheeks. The day had arrived that The Shield disbanded after a match against The Wyatt Family. The positive thing about this whole thing was watching the amazing match between the two factions. The crowd was invested in this match; it wasn't the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match that they were invested in, but in The Shield versus The Wyatt's. Desiree was on her knees, sniffing the tears away as she packed up the last of her belongings. The transition was in action, and she still couldn't process what was happening, until the bell rung to symbolize the end of the match. Tomorrow would mark the start of a new chapter of her life. She and Darwin had talked to Dustin and Lauren during the week about her moving in with Darwin. Lauren was alright by the arrangement, but her father was furious over this, but ended up agreeing to it. After tonight, she would be meeting Darwin, who would come with a rental car to pick her up and head to the airport, and heading for Philadelphia. For one last time, she looked into the mirror and wiped the eyeliner and mascara that stained around her eyes and cheeks, and blew a kiss at the mirror again.

"Goodbye, my old self." Desiree whispered and slowly, a smiled creped upon her face. She was literally saying goodbye to her old self. When she came to this internship, she was a socially awkward girl from Grand Rapids with such a low self-esteem for herself, and now, she's a socially awkward girl, but with a higher self-esteem that will be living in Philadelphia. She was so thankful for this internship. She's thankful for Joe, Colby, Jon and everyone that has helped her on her path to become a new person. Without them, she probably would have received three noes at the Intern Evaluation.

She walked out of the locker room with the bag in her hands in search of The Shield, eventually she finds them backstage—Colby and Joe at least, talking to Hunter about something, but where was Jon? Sadly, she couldn't find Jon, he wasn't around and he was not around The Shield. Right now, she wanted to give all these guys the thanks that they deserve, knowing that they also had a huge part in her internship. Colby, Joe and Hunter's heads turned to the intern, who put on a smile, trying to hide the fact that this was one of the most depressing things that she has ever done in her entire life. Hunter felt proud of the things that Desiree has done with The Shield and their scripts. Hell, he was proud of how this internship with her did well than he normally expected it of being.

"Desiree, just the girl that I want to see. I know that you must be bummed that this internship is now over, but I just wanted you to know that Stephanie and I don't regret our decision with putting you with The Shield. You have shown so much maturity and wonderful worth ethic than I'd see some of the employees that are older do today. We are satisfied with you, and we are highly considering, putting you in the WWE family as a permanent member, but management had something against this internship, but when you do get the older age, I just want you to take working for the WWE under some consideration. We'd think that you would work very well, when it comes to producing RAW and Smackdown. I have been told that you are very good at knowing what the other wrestlers think and how to put on a story. Whatever position, we have open a few years from now, you'd be the first girl to call. Good job, Des." with that, Hunter patted the teenager on the back and left, leaving her with Colby and Joe.

"I'm amazed that Hunter would consider hiring as a WWE employee! It's truly an honor. You guys have been so awesome to me, and I don't have words to express how much it has been an honor to work with such bright talent like yourselves. Colby, I know that we had a rough start in the beginning of this internship. You have scared the crap out of me in so many occasions that I thought that this internship could end the next day. I just want to thank you for having my back, and for not giving up on me. Also, I like my new look, so I have to thank you and Leighla for that. Wow, I really thought that you would be such a difficult person to befriend, but you are obviously one of the nicest guys that I have ever met in my entire life. You don't need to worry about management finding a place for you there, I think that they will find something for you to do because no one can put up a match other than you. You have such a bright future, and I enjoy watching you wrestle." Desiree smiled as Colby felt a heartwarming feeling inside of him; he smiled at her, knowing that someone else believed in him and that he will have a bright future for himself.

"Desiree, I've never doubted you for one moment. You are so amazing, and I know that you will come to something," Colby embraced her with a hug, so tight that she could not squeeze out of it. This girl was not the same girl that he once met, she was better than the girl that he once met. It is shocking this girl is still Desiree. If you could put a picture of her in the first day of this internship, and now, no one would believe that this is the same girl, "Totally, consider a potential job around here. I think you're awesome, and that the sky is the limit with you."

Desiree nodded and then, looked at Joe, "I'm glad that the WWE Universe is seeing what I have seen in you ever since day one! You're silent, but that spear of yours is deadly. I know that people see you as the one to take John Cena's place as the face of the WWE, but I want to give you a reality check, even though you have all these things that will make you a future WWE World Heavyweight Champion, I want you to remain humble about them. Things like these can be taken away from you in a heartbeat. Just because you have the credentials doesn't mean that there is not room for improvement. You are a talented guy, but I know that you will get better. You have the drive in you to get better. Being placed with Jon and Colby made you reach up to their level or come to par, but you have done a hell of a job at doing that." the compliments that were coming out of her mouth made Joe smiled, knowing that Desiree had always thought so highly of him, and that people were no able to see that was a rewarding feeling.

Joe gave Desiree a bear hug, making the teenage want to turn blue in the face because of the lack of oxygen, when he saw the blue appear, he released his hug, Des taking a moment to catch her breath again, "Thank you, Desiree. I'll make sure to do that, but I hope that you find happiness in yourself. Hopefully, you're able to find that one thing that makes you truly happy and go for it. You know? You will still have you Care Team that you can go to, and Ms. Candice will provide you your schooling for the rest of the year, and throughout senior year, if you ever feeling like you don't fit in enough in the schools in Philadelphia. I want you to focus on your studies as well, I want to hear something wonderful about you. Like you won a Noble Peace Prize or something." Joe chuckled as Desiree rolled her eyes mockingly.

"Noble Peace Prize—only in my dreams!" Des' phone was heard vibrating as she reached in the pocket in the back of her pants. Darwin had texted her to say that he was getting near to the entrance of the arena, she sighed; she didn't want this moment to end, but knew that it had to end, "Uncle Darwin texted me saying that he's getting closer to the arena. I think I better get going." she frowned, knowing that Jon was nowhere in sight. Maybe, things were not meant to be with him.

"Do you still need to talk to Jon?" Colby asked her, wondering if she still needed to talk to him.

"I couldn't find him around." she frowned again, her heartbreaking more, when she said that.

"Do you want us to walk you out?" Joe asked, walking closer to her, but she turned around, knowing that if they were to walk her out, that it would make this goodbye, harder than it needed to be.

"I think this ends with us here."

Jon was fading back to reality. With every blink that he did, his vision began to get clearer and clearer. Where was he? What had happened to him? This was something that he wanted to know for himself. The last thing that he could remember was fighting in the crowd and being hit with Sister Abigail on the concrete floor. What happened after was a total blur. He held his head that was in throbbing pain still feeling the impact of that deadly finisher. He sat himself up; the more that he looked around, he knew that he was in the trainer's room. He turned around and that's where he saw him. He was looking into the eyes of The Viper and WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton. Why was Randy here? Oh yeah, he retained his title at the chamber match and he was getting some ice for his shoulder. The last thing that he wanted to do was strike up a conversation, knowing that Desiree probably is already at the airport right now.

"I know, I ruined everything for myself. You don't need to tell me why I must ruin everything that I truly care about. I let a good girl go, and I am going to regret this decision for the rest of my life. She is probably going to get married to some prince and have like two point three children. Randy, you don't need to tell me that I am the biggest idiot in the entire world. I let my fears get in the way of love. I know that I deserve all the misery that I am going to put myself for the rest of my life. Seeing her move on will be the misery!" Jon clutched on to the shirt that Randy put on, before going to the trainer's room, shaking on it, making him so dizzy that it made Randy slap Jon back to reality. Jon stood there frozen, shocked about what Randy had done to him, "I deserve that!" he claimed as Randy rolled his eyes at him.

"Jon, I am here to give you some advice. I've been in your position before with JoJo. I was nervous as hell with defining the relationship with her, but I eventually gained the courage to do so. I love my life because of that decision. I think you will have the same result. I see the way you look at Desiree—you're in love with her, bro. So, go after her! Don't let your fears be an obstacle in the way of love. You didn't lose her, she just left with her uncle a few minutes ago, and the doctors have been telling me that you have been out cold for the past hour. It's not too late, Jon. Go after your girl!" Randy instructed with enthusiasm, knowing that Jon will regret the decision of not going after her. Jon didn't argue back as he went dashing out of the trainer's room to claim his girl.

After getting on his street clothes—most notable, his signature black leather jacket, he dashed out of the arena as fast as he could. He didn't bother stopping to sign autographs for his fans, knowing that he will get to it later. He guessed that Desiree was heading for the nearest airport, and just like lightning, he was fast and flashing all over the place. A few cars honked at him for not watching where he was going, but he ignored them. He knew that Desiree's rental car was a black rental car, but could not recall the license plate or the brand of the car. He knew for a fact that he was not a stalker at all; he did give her the privacy that she wanted. If he had to run to Philly to get to her, that would happen. Only for Des that he imagined himself doing something dumb like this. He hoped that all of this was going to pay off for him and that they will be with each other.

Meanwhile, Desiree was in the passenger seat of the rental car as she looked at the window. The traffic was awful and they needed to be at the airport by the next forty-five minutes or they would miss their flight. The thought in her mind was Jon, and what would have happened if they were to see each other again. The chances of them seeing each other seemed slim now, but there was always something about her that wished that she had some guy chase for her. She wanted to be fought for; she wanted to know that she was worth it. Only things like that happen in movies and the last time that she checked, this was no movie at all. This was reality. A cruel reality. This little magical world that she had been living in for the past eight months was over, and she had no clue what the future was for her.

"Don't worry, Des. Once we get the house, you will feel a lot at home. Perhaps, we can check out some of the wrestling shows, whenever we have the free time. Just like the good old days. Sometimes, they hire me as a photographer for those shows to take pictures of the major parts of the matches. Everyone starts out somewhere, maybe this could be your new start." Darwin had noticed the look on Desiree's face, when she entered the car. He knew that she was hurting inside and that the emotion of not interning for The Shield was breaking her heart. He hated seeing his niece upset; this girl deserves to be happy, and chasing her dreams. This was what the saying of 'chasing her dreams' came from: he had a discussion with Desiree after a show in Chicago years ago, Des had been thinking about chasing her dream of working for the WWE, since she had a huge passion for wrestling. It had been the first time that she had opened up to anyone about this. She knew if she were to tell Dustin or Lauren that they would reject the idea, but Darwin was more open minded and he wasn't shocked that Desiree wanted to go with this career path, so the advice he told her was to chase her dreams no matter what people say or what was in her way. This was the piece of advice that stuck with her to this very day.

Des looked at Darwin and gave a small smile, "I know Uncle Darwin, but this experience is over. It's going to take a while to adjust to this whole thing. I thought this internship was going to last throughout the summer, but it lasted until the spring basically. I've enjoyed working with The Shield. They are some of the sweetest, most down to earth guys that I have ever met. I've heard fans say that, but now I know that they are telling the truth. I hope that we cross paths in the near future." she did her best to think of the positive, trying to make her voice all happy and cheerful again.

"Especially Jon?" Darwin's question had caught the teenager off guard, who raised a brow at her uncle, "I mean, is he sweet and down to earth, unlike his persona in the ring? I believed that you were the closest with him. I've seen Instagram pictures with you two acting like a couple of goofballs. Actually, I seen you with Joe and Colby, but there is more with you and Jon. When he looks that you two give each other are indescribable. When he talks about you, he's always invested. I don't mean to be blunt, but I think that Jon could have some feelings for you. And, you left him without saying goodbye, but looking in my mirror, I think you might have that opportunity to talk." Darwin smirked as he exited out of the traffic and parked near a café.

Desiree turned around to spot Jon running to her; she was shocked. How long had he been running? Man, did he look tired? Hopefully, he didn't run too far or she would feel so horrible. She looked back at Darwin and gave him a hug, "Thank you!" and exited out of the car as she awaited for Jon to catch up to her. She had to remember to keep it cool, knowing that things could end up more uglier than her relationship with Jon had been ever since January. There Des stood as Jon finally caught up with her, inches away from full contact with each other. "Hey Jon, I couldn't find you at the arena. Darwin texted, and I knew that I could find you. I thought that it was confirmation that you didn't want anything to do with me. It was fine, but I would have liked it if you would have found me." she placed a strand of her hair behind her ear, and paid attention to the look that he was giving her, it was serious, but he was still breathing heavily by running to come and find her.

"I was knocked out cold during the match and I woke up and someone had just informed me that you had left. They also said that it wasn't too late for me to say goodbye to you. I decided to take his advice and chase for you. I probably looked like an idiot, but I really didn't care because I have done stupider things with you. I've enjoyed the stupid stuff that I have done with you. On a serious note, I have been racking my head back and fourth wondering what I should do, when it came to you. I was worried about how people would respond to you, but I also knew that you were a strong, young woman that will be able to handle anything. Desiree, there is no doubt that I am in love with you. I thought I liked you, but it turns out that my feelings for you are stronger than anyone could ever imagine. All I want to do is make you the happiest girl in the world and make you feel loved," Jon entwined his fingers with her, trying his best not to fumble with his words, "You're such a beautiful girl inside and out and I am the luckiest guy in the world to have known you. We have grown so much these past eight months. I feel like I have known you for years because our relationship is above that, but Desiree, I want you to know that I chose you out of a billion girls in the world. You're the one for me and it would make me the happiest guy out there if you," Jon let go of one of her hands and reached inside one of the the pockets of his jacket and pulled out something that made Desiree cover her mouth, "Will have the key to my heart again and solidify our relationship by becoming my girlfriend?" in his possession was the key shaped necklace that she had given back to him, when he called off their fling.

Desiree was shocked as Jon placed the key shaped necklace on her neck, she admired it for a moment and looked back at him, and connected with a kiss on his lips, standing on her tip toes when she did that, "I would love to be your girlfriend, boyfriend. I'm so glad right now that, I could cry, but I'm not going to because I've wasted enough tears with this experience. Jon, I never stopped loving you. I never pictured myself with you in a million of years, but you're here right now, and that's all that matters." Desiree spoke as Jon picked her up, spinning her around and looked deeply in her eyes. She was finally his and he was finally hers. With their faces inches away from each other, they connected with another passionate kiss. Des wrapped her arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around her thin waist. The kiss deepening more as they continued on it.

If the love is worth it, then fight for it. These two souls were nothing until they met one another, and when they did, their lives changed forever. These two souls fought like enemies, but loved each other like lovers. Many obstacles have come their way, but in the end of the day, they're only...

Human.

Just like in my last story, the last words revealed the name to the next story. Does that mean that on this story, the last word of this story would be the title for the next story? It sure does because I am writing a third part for Jon and Desiree's story, and the title is "Human", and it's going to be a flash forward of about four to five years because I have promised a flash forward for the past few months.

I just want to thank you for everyone that has checked out this story, and even "Interning For The Shield". I am in disbelief that this story got so much love, but this is the most reviews that I have ever received for one of my stories. Thank you, thank you so much! I've got "Human" being posted as soon as possible and either my Ambrose or Rollins/OC story that I haven't decided which to post will be posted as soon as possible as well that all of you should check out. So, for the last time in this story, please review! :)
