I hope you enjoy

Surprise was one thing Lily was used to when it came to Luka but today was a full-blown bizarre adventure. She didn't know where to start. It happened so suddenly, Luka called her out of the blue and asked for her guidance.

If there was one thing the blonde was good at, it was giving other people the push they need so she gladly obliged. Besides, it was Luka. Whatever's on her mind was probably something little. Like her game crashed or she needed new books or maybe a new hobby.

But when Lily and Gumi came in, Luka started with one thing they didn't expect.

"Lily, I think I'm sick." She confessed.

The two girlfriends looked at each other with mild concern. "Sick, what do you mean sick? Are you feeling unwell? Did you eat something weird again?" Lily said. She looked fine to where she was standing.

"Does it hurt somewhere?" Gumi added. Maybe a headache from her chronic insomnia?

Luka shook her head and buried her face in a pillow, looking away. She was in between Lily and Gumi and it made them nervous for some reason. Luka was straightforward when it came to the both of them so her taking time to speak must mean something was weighing heavily in her mind.

They waited. Patiently. They were in no position to rush her.

The pink-haired woman sighed deeply before looking at Lily then said something she didn't quite understand. "I don't get it. I feel weird." She started. She mumbled something before continuing. "I'm sick Lily. I haven't felt like this before."

"What do you mean, Lulu-chan?" she scratched her neck. "Can you explain it more?"

Luka gingerly nodded before burying her face again with the pillow. "… hurts…" she murmured softly.

"What? Pardon?"

"I said my chest hurts whenever Miku's around." She repeated a little bit clearly.

Gumi's eyes widened and punched Lily on the shoulder because she hasn't spoken and her mouth was hanging. Lily hissed in pain and Luka looked like a dejected puppy. "Your chest hurts whenever Miku-chi's around?"

"Mmmhmm. I'm sick, aren't I, Lily?" she innocently pressed.

This?

This was what she wanted to talk about?

It was unbelievable.

It was utterly ridiculous.

Lily chortled. She couldn't suppress her laughter and even Gumi smiled at Luka's childish conclusion. "You're… hahaha… stupid! Hahaha… wheeze… so stupid oh my god I need to breathe" she laughed even louder than before.

The pink-haired prince merely scrunched her eyebrows at the confusion. "This is serious, Lily. What if it's contagious? I don't want others to get infected." She argued. The blonde scoffed and ruffled her hair. Why was her best friend this stupid? She internally praised Miku's heart of steel. It took her long enough.

"Lulu-chan, I can't believe I came all the way down here just for you to whine about your stupid crush."

Luka made her eyes squint. She didn't understand what she was saying. Gumi gave a little giggle to her friend's bewilderment.

Lily knew Luka's denseness was far beyond what normal people had so it was time to take matters at her own hands. She needed this to be simple. Luka would never understand if she were to give a complex explanation. A blunt and serious explanation would do the trick.

She grabbed her shoulders in a dramatic way and looked at her directly in the eye. She took a deep breath and she saw Gumi cheer for her at the other side. This was it. Finally. "Lulu-chan, you like Miku-chi."

One second.

Two seconds.

Then a whole minute.

Luka said nothing in return.

Then her eyes lit up in a way and Lily was so damn sure she got what she meant however, she didn't get the message across. "Of course I like Miku." She said simply. As if it was the most normal thing in the world.

"What do you- of course you like Miku-chi! We all know you like her!" she shouted. "You like LIKE her. Do you get me?!" she shook her shoulders for the effect. Gumi facepalmed.

Luka tilted her head. She snapped her fingers. "I like everyone else too." She added, much to the duo's exasperation. "I like Meiko, she's really nice and confident. I like Gakupo, he looks out for his friends. I also like Kaito, he's generous and sweet," she counted them on her fingers one by one and Lily wanted to slap her. "I like Rin and Len, then Luki, Gumi and you, Lily."

"And Miku-chi?"

"Oh. I like her more than everyone else."

If the tealette were here to hear all the crazy things Luka confessed she would probably cry from the pink-haired woman's choice of words.

Lily threw her hands in the air and growled. For someone who was considered a genius, she was also damn stupid. There was no other choice than to try it once more.

"Lulu-chan," she made her look at her. Luka was nonchalant about everything. UGH. "You like Miku-chi. Not the way you like others but you like her in a different way."

"Different way?"

Good. They were getting somewhere. She sighed. "Yes. Like uh for example, ah! I like everyone else too but I like Gumi," she glanced at her girlfriend. "in a different way. Do you get me? That's why we have a special relationship, not as friends but something even uhh deeper." She coughed.

Luka pressed her hands together in a way to show her realization. "So that means I have to stay away from Miku in order for her not to get sick, right?"

Gumi grumbled and pinched the bridge of her nose.

Lily hit her on the head. "What's wrong with that brain of yours?! How did you come up with that idiotic solution?! I can't believe this!" she gave up. She can't do it like this. She needed help. Lily shooed her away. "Gumi, please take over. I might accidentally strangle her if this keeps at it." Gumi gave her a mock salute and ushered Luka to the game room.

Ahhh. Nerds will be nerds. She'd give them time.

After an hour or so, the two returned and Luka's cheeks were painted pink. "Welcome back." She pecked her girlfriend on the cheek. "Let me guess, you made Luka play one of the naughty games, didn't you?" she sneered.

"If she were to understand then letting her play would be the best solution and it seemed to have worked, as far as I'm concerned." She said.

Luka's half-dazed state was cute. She was still probably thinking about the game. Lily scooted closer to her and wrapped an arm to her shoulder and gently swayed her. "Earth to Lulu-chan. Come back already, we aren't finished talking yet."

Luka snapped out of her trance and awkwardly slumped to her seat. "I think I understand what you're saying…" she mumbled.

"And that is?"

"I like Miku in a special way."

"That's correct." She hummed in satisfaction.

"But that doesn't explain why my chest hurts." She said quietly.

"Is that the only thing you feel?" she prodded curiously.

Luka sighed again and looked away sheepishly. "It hurts when Miku's close to me. It hurts when she's not here." She clenched the fabric of her jacket. "It hurts when I don't get to see her. It hurts when she smiles." She rested her head on Lily's shoulder. "And it hurts when I see her with Luki."

Oh. She was jealous too.

Lily smiled softly at her best friend. "You're like a lovesick puppy, you know that." She patted her head. "Does she make you feel happy?"

"Mmm. Very happy. Is that weird?"

"It's not weird." Gumi said.

"Do you feel butterflies in your stomach? Or like your heartbeat speeds up? Or maybe you feel dizzy because you like her so much?"

"Yes," she nodded. It was all true. "Is it normal for me to feel like that? I'm not sick?"

"No, you're not." The blonde said, reassuring her best friend. "All those things are normal. It just means you really really like Miku-chi and I'm happy for you."

"But I don't understand. Why… Whenever Miku is with Luki, I feel something weird in my gut. I don't like it. It's horrible."

Why did Lily have to talk about this in such a roundabout way? "That, my friend, is what you call jealousy."

"Jealousy?"

"Yeah. Do you remember the time when Luki was mad at you because he liked me? I mean we were kids and all but still, it's jealousy."

"Oh. Is that normal too?"

"Jealousy is a hard topic but it's a normal emotion that everyone can feel," Lily flexed her fingers like she was about to perform a trick. "Like I'm jealous because she has that and I don't or I'm jealous of him because he's got good grades and I flunked. Things like that, I suppose." She said in a high pitched girly voice.

The pink-haired woman buried her face in the pillow again and let her words sink in. It was a difficult thing to grasp for someone like her. Jealous? Of Luki? Maybe that would explain her action a while back.

She didn't want him to join in their special session.

She didn't want him to hog Miku all the time.

She also disliked the idea of them being too close for comfort.

It was a negative emotion, from what she can see. It all spirals down to what she desires and would inevitably cause trouble to those around her. It was a horrible feeling she didn't want to get used to.

"You alright there, Lulu-chan?" The blonde gently pulled away the pillow from her face.

"I'm good." She smiled. "Thank you, you two. It helped me a lot."

"You're very welcome. Geez, I thought it was something serious. You had me all worried there."

"It is serious since Luka-san finally realized her feelings." Gumi chided.

"I guess you're right about that." Lily playfully shoved her. "Lil Lulu-chan here is too dense to pick up simple emotions like that."

Luka's cheeks burned and Lily cooed. She was so fun to tease because she wasn't usually this expressive. "Awww she's adorable, being shy about her crush."

"But Lily," Luka began and fiddled with the zipper of her jacket. "What am I supposed to do now?"she asked. Sure she knew what it all meant but what's next? Should she leave it as it was?

"It's pretty obvious, Lulu-chan." The blonde dismissively waved her hand as if it was nothing. "You confess to her."

Luka almost jumped. "Confess? Why would I do that?"

"Yes! You need to confess your undying love for Miku-chi!" she wrapped her arm on her shoulder. "You shouldn't keep all those feelings bottled up! It's not good for you." Or for her. "Wouldn't you want that weird feeling in your chest disappear?"

Luka's mind was a whirlwind of disaster. Just even hearing those words come out of her mouth was like she's telling her death sentence. "I c-can't do that, Lily." She cried. "I c-c-can't." she stood up and abruptly went to her room, leaving the two with wide eyes and confusion painted on their faces.

"Lily-san! What did you do?"

"Hold up! Hold up! You were right here!" she raised her hands. "I swear I have no idea what's going on."

"Whatever it is," Gumi stood and followed Luka to her room. "We need answers."

The door to Luka's bedroom was left unlocked so it was safe to say they were allowed to go in. The two quietly went inside and sat on the edge of the shivering lump under the comforters. What Luka's thinking, they had no clue but they had to do something about it or else.

"Hey, Lulu-chan," Lily gently peeled the comforter out of her face but her hair was hiding her face. "What's wrong? Come on, talk to me." She said softly. Gumi gave comforting rubs on her hunched back and gave the blonde a go sign.

"Lulu-chan? What is it? Don't go to not talking again." She said as she rubbed her head. "We've been over this. You need to talk."

They waited. As always. Luka was difficult to handle but they need to help her. They need to understand.

"I can't do it, Lily." She mumbled.

"Why not? You already told us that you like her." She explained.

"I know but…" she bit her lip, Gumi continued rubbing her back. "What if I tell her and it ruins our friendship? What if she doesn't like the idea of me having feelings for her? She would leave me, Lily." She whimpered. She clutched the comforter tightly. "I don't want that. I don't ever want that to happen."

Lily wanted to tell her it was impossible. Miku loves Luka and she would never leave her. She can assure that. But she didn't want to tell her. She was in no position to reveal Miku's feelings like that. They need to work this out on their own. The only thing she can say now is to heavily imply that the tealette has some sort of positive feeling about her.

"Listen," she started. "I know you're not all that confident about it but believe me, Luka ,when I say that Miku would never do that. Ever."

The pink-haired woman peered from the covers but was still not entirely convinced with what she said. "How can you be so sure?"

"Because I know something that you," she pinched her nose and chuckled when Luka made a weird noise. "don't know and it's more than enough as proof."

Luka grumbled and sighed deeply. "C'mon, Lulu-chan, it's okay to feel scared." The blonde dropped to her side so she can face her friend. She grabbed her cheeks and pinched them like how she did when they were kids. "But you need to face your fears sooner or later. This is already a new start for you. Have a little bit of faith. A little bit of courage too."

For some reason, Lily's words of encouragement worked. Luka was looking at her with the faintest of smiles. She finally did something right. "Miku-chi will be really happy." The pink-haired prince showed her pinky finger, a promise that Lily would cheer her on. A silent promise that Lily will be there for her.

"You got it." She hooked her pinky to hers and shook it. "That's what bestfriends are for, right?"

"Cut! Cut!" Miki shouted as she tapped the rolled up script to her hand. "Miku! Do it with more feeling! You can't just read the words like that. You sound like someone spat on your coffee first thing in the morning." She repeated the paragraph the tealette was reading with dramatic poses and all. The whole class roared and clapped. "Like that, Miku! Now, from the top, people!" she barked. "A couple more weeks are all we have to beat class 1-E! We'll pulverize them." People hollered and backed up her statement and with a sigh, they continued practicing.

"We'll beat fire with fire!" said another classmate. People started to badmouth the other class but were stopped by the president, telling them to beat them at their own game and not resort to such childish manner.

If it weren't a fact that class 1-E copied their Sleeping Beauty theme, Miku believed that Miki set up the whole thing because of her never-ending enthusiasm to make things perfect. Poor Piko had enough of convincing his friend to calm down but the redhead wouldn't have it.

"Sorry about Miki," Piko rubbed his neck awkwardly. "Once she sets her mind into it, it's difficult to stop her."

Miku waved her hand. "It's alright. I've dealt with people like her." Namely, Rin and Meiko. Those two were stubborn and hot-headed similar to Miki was now.

"Piko! Stop dawdling and memorize your lines!" She ordered. The timid boy flinched but did what was told and the two memorized in silence. In a couple more minutes they'll have to act it out in front of the class. He may not look like it, but he acted decent and was probably because he's a member of the theatre club.

The tealette looked around the classroom and people were busy with their assigned roles and tasks, all wearing their colour-coded jerseys. In a corner, a girl was hammering props into place and boys were supporting her weight on a ladder. From the other side, the artistic people started on painting some of the backdrops and a mixture of boys and girls were sewing the clothes to be worn. It was a happy atmosphere albeit a little tense because they were driven by the motivation to win against the other section.

She looked at the boy beside her and Piko was silently mouthing the words as he closed his eyes every now and then. Miki was guiding the other minor characters with their lines as they kept murmuring their words. Miku had already finished memorizing hers but had no energy like everyone had.

"Miku? You're done?" Piko asked. Miku hummed in response. "You doing okay? You look troubled."

"I'm fine. I keep getting tongue tied when I read my lines." She lied. It wasn't about that. It was about Luka. It was always about her.

Miku was relieved that Luka was able to say what she had in mind. That she was able to convey her feelings right. That she was able to gather up the courage to refuse.

Luki was more than happy to oblige. Luka felt like she betrayed him. He re-assured his sister that his feelings weren't hurt and that he understood that she need time alone for just the two of them.

They carried on with the session and the pink-haired woman played for a long time. She was smiling afterwards when they left the room and Luki came back hugging her, telling her that he's so proud. Telling her that he's pleased with her progress. Telling Miku she has done a great job.

But when Miku told them about the play and apologized because she has to stop coming by everyday to practice her role, she saw Luka shrink in her seat and her heart began to clench.

"Ooohh! A play! I love those." Luki said enthusiastically. "Hey, hey, hey Miku. Can I come and watch?"

Miku absentmindedly nodded because she was more focused on Luka's odd behaviour. Not that she was exactly normal but there was definitely something wrong with her.

She took her icy cold hand and held it tight. She swayed it a little until Luka came back to her senses. She pulled her to the couch and let her sit. Luki didn't bother them this time.

"Luka?" she shook her hand again. The pink-haired woman refused to make eye contact, letting her bangs shield her line of sight. "Luka, it's me. I'm right here." She started.

"Mmmhm."

"It's just going to be a couple of weeks and before you know it, I'll be back here again."

"Mmm…" a little quieter this time.

She laced their fingers together and let Luka's head rest on her shoulder. "I promised you I wouldn't leave, right? This is only temporary. I'll come back again."

Luka shuffled but held their hands tighter and buried her face deeper in Miku's neck. The tealette had her fair share of Luka's cuddling state so this was nothing new to her yet her heart still felt like it was about to stop from the excitement. A little more closer to her chest and Luka might be able to hear her erratic heartbeat.

"Like you always do…" she whispered.

Miku giggled.

"Like I always do."

True to her words, they met less and less and even though she texted her everyday it didn't quell the uneasiness in her mind. Luka would always reply in the same manner. Clear and concise.

She fished out her phone from her pocket and sent a quick text to her.

"You're worried that she'll overwork herself and be sick." Lily repeated to her in a monotone voice.

"Lily, what am I supposed to do?"

It's the fifth time since their talk that Luka quickly became paranoid of every little thing that concerned Miku. Desperate texts that seemed like it was the end of the world for her and desperate pleas of advice because she couldn't understand her feelings.

"Luuuuluuuuu-chaaaaaan," she drawled. This was beginning to be a little difficult than she had imagined it to be. Gumi wasn't around because of school so Lily had to deal with her alone.

There was a loud ring from Luka's phone and Lily reached for it on the table on the edge of the bed. It was from Miku. "Lulu-chan, it's Miku-chi." She read the message to her, just a little update on how things were going with practice and was asking about her day in general. Typical Miku.

"She's doing fine," She handed the device to her. "And your reply?" The pink-haired woman stared at the screen for a few seconds before typing out her reply. A simple, I'm here with Lily. Please don't overwork yourself. As soon as her finger pressed the send button, she hid underneath her sheets and ignored her bestfriend.

"Oi. I know you're worried and all but try to cheer up a little." She dropped her weight on top of her and rolled around until she came out of her fortress of blankets. "Miku-chi will be here. Don't forget that." she reminded her. "She isn't like the others. She promised, right?"

Luka hummed in response. Lily smiled. Abandonment issues were still present in her behaviour and her bestfriend needed to understand that. This was her way of coping. To have someone like Miku.

"Tell you what," she sat on the bed and pulled her up. "let's do a surprise for her. What do you say?"

"A surprise?"

"A grand celebration for a successful play. I know you can't wait to spend time with her."

With little resistance to her questionable plan, Lily started to call backup because this needed more than a pair of hands.

The day of the festival came faster than expected and Miku was feeling neutral in the event. Sure, everyone was excited and a little happy that things were going smoothly but all she wanted was for it to end quickly so she could run to Luka's house. Maybe give her hug. Or maybe a little cuddle. Perhaps a little kiss on the cheek if her heart could withstand the embarrassment. Being away from her has been rough and there was this longing feeling in her heart that she can't shake off. There was little to no time to visit as she was always so exhausted and had to spend some nights at school to make everything perfect.

The twins said they were going to watch at the front seats and true to their word, they were present, looking all giddy and had cameras on both of their hands. They were probably waiting for her to slip up and use it for blackmail. Such nice friends.

She sent Meiko and the others a text but she hadn't seen them. Even Luki, that insufferable brother of Luka, wasn't around too. It was a full house, perhaps they couldn't get any seats and were standing at the back. They did say they were coming after all.

The huge red curtains were closed and the host started to introduce their class. Being a perfectionist and all, Miki's role was to narrate the story at the backstage where she can see any possible mistakes and ad lib any parts. When the rumbling of the audience lessened and the lights started to darken, the tealette took one more breathe and thus the show started.

"Lenny, you're filming this right?" Rin jabbed her brother at the side while focusing her camcorder at the stage. Len gave a little hiss but nodded.

"Yes, Rinny, for the millionth time. Yes, I am filming this so could you please stop doing that!"

"Extra memory?"

Len took out a case full of extra memory cards. The older twin smirked.

"Battery?"

Rin opened her coat where a couple of batteries were dangling. The younger twin snickered.

"Nee-chan/san?" they both said in unison. They paused and took out their phone to see if their sister replied. It was only three words. Three simple words.

Oh I will.

But something told them that their sister was up to no resumed their recording and shook off the feeling. They figured she wouldn't do something impulsive. Their sister was better than that.

Or so they had hoped.

"The curse of the witch came true and our dear Sleeping Beauty fell into a deep slumber as she pricked her finger on the spinning wheel." Miki dramatically voiced. They were halfway to the whole play and this was the best part of her role.

Keeping her eyes closed and waiting until Piko came and-

Ugh, I want this to end- she cringed at the thought of having that boy near her lips. Although the plan was to keep their mouths as close as possible for a couple of seconds, it didn't help the fact that it wasn't Luka who was with her and the tealette was obviously bitter at everything. She continued with her superb acting skills of sleeping. Not that she needed it but because Miki demanded perfection.

"Princess! Let down your hair!" a voice shouted from somewhere.

The audience began to mumble and Miku had the urge to open her eyes and check because she so sure that voice sounded like-

"Princess! Let down your hair!" said the voice again and now the whole theatre was wondering where it came from. It created mass confusion. Miki was fuming at whoever was sabotaging their beautiful play and started to climb down and rampage to class 1-E but was stopped by the half of the class. They didn't need any more trouble.

"Hi everyone! Let's all please quiet down as the play is not yet finished. I'm the substitute narrator since the previous one left in a hurry. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the rest of it!"

That's Luki!- Miku screamed in her head. How did he get up there? More importantly, what was happening? The teal-haired maiden tried ever so hard not to open her eyes and check the current situation but it was becoming difficult to overcome as time went on.

"Ahem! Now," he made his voice high-pitched and ad libbed the following scenes. "A prince who was exiled from his kingdom had heard of the curse casted upon by the evil witch and has now travelled far and beyond to defeat said villain and reclaim his throne."

"Ah, my dear Princess." A new character appeared and some of the audience squealed. Len and Rin had their mouths open wide.

She felt someone drop near her and fiddle with the ends of her braided hair. "Such cruelty has befallen on this lovely princess. Perhaps a true love's kiss might bring her back."

Kaito?!- Miku was probably making a weird face right now with her nose scrunched up and her forehead creased in disgust. The narration wasn't even making sense and Kaito was saying the lines of Rapunzel. This was Sleeping Beauty for Pete's sake. He could've at least tried to blend in!

"Lenny! Lenny! You're getting this right? What's Kai-nii doing here?" Rin half-screamed half-whispered to her brother who wasn't paying her any attention because that was Kaito who was supposed to be with Lily and the others to watch with them but was somehow on stage looking all dashing and sparkly and it made him feel jealous and-

There was a sharp jab on his side and he yelled. "What was that for?!"

Without looking the older twin hissed. "I know you're jealous and all but-"

"I am so not jealous right now!"

"-is nee-chan behind all of this?"

They both felt certain uneasiness and reread the text from Lily. They both looked at each other and nodded. A silent agreement that they had nothing to do with this if Miku asked. They had proof, after all.

"Stop right there!"

The audience gasped at the turn of events as another character stepped on the stage and they all hollered with glee.

"Ah, what is this? A rival?" Luki said in fake astonishment.

Heavy footsteps were heard and Meiko came into view holding a fake prop sword while wearing a similar costume of a prince. The crowd was now taking pictures and Rin was boiling with anger. "A true love's kiss will not work on you, fellow prince. For she does not know you nor have you ever spent time with her before this tragedy had happened."

She walked over the two and helped him to stand. "We must find another solution to break the curse." Meiko wanted to laugh at the horrible expressions Miku was wearing and she'd probably be scolded right after the mess they've caused. "Shall we ask the seven dwarves over at the hill for advice?"

"Hey, Rinny it's Meiko-nee! Look!" Len was pointing at the stage and was jumping in his seat. Rin was pissed at whoever was taking pictures of her and wanted to smash their phones to bits. "R-rinny? You're turning red."

"I can see it crystal clear, Lenny." Rin was seething but she clearly need to focus on filming this since it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see her like that and it would probably take years for her to see it again. She fought back her desire to cause uproar and decided to sit back quietly and use the extra camcorder to solely film Meiko in her prince outfit.

"If I may propose another solution." It seemed like the adults didn't want Miku to rest just yet because lo and behold Gakupo strolled to the stage with a beast mask covering his face. It was Sleeping Beauty not Beauty and the Beast. The tealette wanted to cry.

The three princes went on and discussed different solutions to break the spell and the audience seemed fine with all the madness that was happening. I mean, having three insanely hot people on stage was a win-win factor to them even if the story was going downhill. Plus, they were famous alumni from the school who had legendary achievements.

The patience Miku had was outrageously high for she had not opened her eyes from the moment everything went wild. She felt the bed where she was laid on move. And little by little, it moved farther and farther on her left until she was at the backstage. She quickly sat and Lily was there waving her hand.

"Hey, there princess. Had a nice sleep?"

"Lily! What is going on out there?!" she yelled. "Why are they dressed like that? They're not even following the script!"

"Woah woah woah there, little maiden," she ruffled her hair and fixed her dress. "One at a time. Oh, and you're gonna thank me. So you're welcome."

"What do you mean? Lily, you're not making sense!" she pulled her close and pointed to the stage where the trio were bickering and the audience laughed. The blonde just scoffed and led her further to the back.

Lily pushed her through the exit and Gumi was waiting there for her in a motorcycle. It was a good thing none of her classmates saw her or else she'd have to explain a whole lot of things and she couldn't even begin to clarify the mess the adults have caused. "Trust me Miku-chi. We'll handle this so go have fun."

She carefully lifted her at the back and strapped on the helmet for safety. She wrapped her arms around Gumi's waist and off they went to wherever they have planned.

"What are we doing here?" Miku tilted her head, still somewhat exhausted from their journey. "Why Luka's house?" she turned to her senior but she simply put an index to her lips, saying that it was a secret. Whatever the adults had planned, they sure were going overboard with things.

They'll have a lot of explaining to do.

Gumi led the tealette inside and Miku followed her without a word. Still sporting the dress for the play, it was a little difficult to climb up the winding staircase because of the heels. They got to the highest point until the rooftop when the tealette heard music playing. Her ears perked up to the sound as she tried to pinpoint where the source was. As with every room in the mansion, the doors were huge and heavy but Gumi easily pushed them open for her.

"Go have fun." She cheered.

She blinked multiple times before her eyes adjusted, the moon was shining brightly and the gush of chilly air greeted her. There stood in the middle of the scattered flowers was Luka, wearing her old prince outfit, extending her had to her.

Miku felt tears in her eyes.

Gumi gently pushed her for she was standing there and gawking. Luka caught her and gave a kiss on the top of her hand. "Is Sleeping Beauty awake now?" she said teasingly.

Miku wanted to pinch herself.

The slow and enchanting music was their background and it added to the moment. Miku giggled as she gripped her hand tighter. "Did you plan all of this?" She rubbed her knuckles affectionately, as she always did to warm her cold hands.

"Not that I know of."

"Oh. I see." she was a bit disappointed. "Are Mei-neechan and the others involved?"

"Mmm." She dipped her head a little. "I told them the flowers were too much but they insisted. Plus, I wanted it inside one of the larger rooms but Kaito and Gakupo set it up here." Miku blushed.

Did she hear her right?

"Also, it was Lily who came up with the idea to take you here and Meiko suggested staying there until the play ends so the people wouldn't question where you were." She gave a sigh. "I was hoping to do it the following day."

"Oh."

"Are you mad?"

"Of course not." Miku swayed their arms a bit. She was too happy. So incredibly happy. "So that means… you want to dance with me?"

A shy nod was all she needed to give her prince a tight hug. She was laughing now because it all felt so surreal. Slender arms circled her as Luka returned it and her laughter grew louder. "Are you sure? I can't dance though." She confessed.

"It's alright. I'll teach you."

When they pulled apart, Luka took her hand and they started to dance under the moonlight. The pink-haired prince led the sleeping beauty flawlessly. They were times that Miku tripped or stepped on her foot, but Luka managed to shake the pain away. She took it slowly and carefully so the tealette would get used to the rhythm and dance. Shortly after, she got the hang of it.

"You're doing great, Miku."

"I can't believe dancing can be so much fun." She chuckled. She sighed dreamily. "Thank you." Luka took it as a cue to ask.

"Hey, Miku, what's your favourite music?" they swayed to the side.

The tealette looked up and studied her face, surprised that she initiated a conversation. "I like all kinds of music but not much for heavy metal." She answered honestly. "I like the music you make, Luka." she added.

Ahh.

This was bad.

Luka felt her stomach make a flip.

They made a turn. "H-how about your favourite food?"

"Food?" she giggled lightly. "Are we doing an interview now?" she joked. Luka looked away sheepishly causing Miku to smile wider. "I like spring onions, I thought you knew that?"

"I just wanted to make sure." She lied. She knew. She knew because Miku would always sneak in some when they make their meals together and denying it when Luki made a fuss.

"Isn't it a bit unfair that you get to ask while I don't?" said the tealette. There was a teasing hint in her voice but continued on with the answers.

"What kind of movie do you like?"

"Definitely horror." Not what Luka had in mind. She was sure that she'd like romance or comedy. Just goes to show how little she knows about her. A little more prodding. Just a little more.

She was going to do it.

"Your favourite word?"

"Promise."

"I like that too." They swayed to the music again and Luka felt nervous for the next step but seeing the carefree look on her face made her heart flutter. She clenched their hands together tighter and gave one last inhale. A little prayer of courage was added along the way.

"Is there... someone you like?"

That exact moment the music stopped then a new one played. Miku stopped her movements and her eyes went wide.

Luka's heart sank. She had made a fatal mistake. She felt her insides coil in an unforgiving way and her legs had started shaking from the fear.

The fear that Miku would leave her.

Her breathing became erratic and felt bile rush up her throat just like she always felt when she had her panic attacks but this was a thousand times worse than before.

But then she hugged her. Tight. And buried her reddened face to her chest. Luka had her arms pinned at her side and momentarily forgot her whirlwind of emotions. She felt Miku mumble words to her chest however, she was unable to decipher such sounds.

"M-miku…?" she croaked.

The tealette raised her head and Luka saw her face. She was teary-eyed and pouting but in her mind she was the most beautiful person she had ever encountered. Like a real princess from the fairy tales she read to Luki. Miku puffed her cheeks and rubbed her head to her chest again before taking a large intake of air.

"I have someone I like." She declared after a few seconds. She looked at her with fond eyes that were somehow sparkling like the stars up in the dark sky. She clutched the back of her coat and stood on her tiptoes to say the words she needed to share.

"I like you, Luka."

As soon as the words left her mouth, tears had started flowing down Luka's eyes and were dripping on to the ground. She felt like she was floating. Is this was happiness feels like? Her whole body was ecstatic and her mind was drifting on and off because she couldn't believe what was happening.

Miku immediately embraced her and pulled her down to the ground slowly as Luka was in no shape to keep standing. Fighting the blush that painted her entire face, the tealette kept her hold and whispered soothing words to her ear but Luka wasn't listening anymore. She then held her hands because they were locked in a tight fist and her knuckles were turning white from the pressure.

"Why're you crying?" Miku asked worriedly as she wiped the onslaught of tears.

Luka was a blubbering mess and her eyes were shut as tears kept pouring on and on. She still couldn't grasp the concept of Miku liking her. She still couldn't believe that she's lucky enough that their feelings were mutual.

"Y-you… like m-me?" she stuttered while trying to open her watery eyes. She sniffed and wiped her nose with her sleeve and the tealette laughed at how adorable she looked despite the weird globs of goo coming out of her nose.

"Yeah. I like you." She repeated with a giggle. "I love you, Luka."

Luka pursed her lips as she heard those words again and smiled ever so slightly. It was sort of like waking up in a dream she never knew existed. "T-that's good…" she said and finally opened her eyes to look at her properly. "because I love you too."

She fell down backwards and let out a thump when her back hit the floor. Miku was crying now too but they were tears of joy. They embraced each other and let themselves feel. Feel the warmth of their beloved. Feel the joy of sharing mutual love. Feel the way their hearts beat the same rhythm.

They didn't move from their position until their tears stopped. "That's good." Luka said again. She was smiling now. Fuller and warm. Miku just hummed in response as she rested her head on Luka's chest, feeling the way it beats the same as hers.

Luka intertwined their fingers together and gave it a kiss. She lifted Miku's face and let her lips touch her cheeks. Miku scrunched her nose and sighed dreamily. They looked at each other with their eyes brimmed with affection and love as they closed in for a kiss on the lips.

Miku had to remind herself that she needed to thank Lily and the others later.
