Long time, no chapter, eh?
Adagio woke up the next morning with a slight headache. With a groan of dissatisfaction, she sat up and put a hand to her head, rubbing her temple slightly. She looked over to her right and saw Sunset sleeping next to her, still in her clothes from yesterday. She smiled and watched her for a few moments before looking to her left at the rest of the room, and spotted the bobcat on the carpet, fast asleep as well. The weird green wad was gone, probably eaten, as Sunset had said would happen. It was strange because, as feral and violent as he could be sometimes, he looked so peaceful and harmless now.
Swinging her legs over the side of the bed, she sat on the edge, rubbing her eyes and letting out a curt yawn. She then stood up and walked over to her closet, deciding to change her clothes before Sunset woke up to avoid some sort of awkward scene, despite them...not having much to hide from each other anymore. After changing into a simple white t-shirt and sweatpants, she exhaled contently and went over to the supply bag, sitting cross-legged on the ground next to it and pulling out a bag of special nutrition cat food. She then took a plastic bowl from the bag and poured the food into it. Almost immediately, the bobcat jerked awake, and he dashed over to the bowl, not even paying any mind to Adagio as it began chowing down just inches from her.
"Heh...hungry, much?" The girl said with a small, amused smirk. Letting out a light, weird-sounding, rumbling purr, he ate the food contently, his little bobtail wiggling slightly. Adagio almost found this adorable. Almost. Daring to take a chance while he was busy, the siren slowly reached a hand out, and lightly touched his back. His body shuddered slightly, but nothing else. He just continued eating. With a small smile, Adagio placed her whole hand on his back. Still nothing. She then stroked her hand down his back, feeling slightly giddy as she did so, as she'd never been able to get this close without worrying about getting her fingers sliced off. Her smile widened a bit as she redid the action over and over, stroking her hand down his back gently. Suddenly, she heard the sound of bed springs creaking, and a voice came from behind her.
"Aww, getting along now, are you?" Adagio turned to see a very sleepy-looking Sunset sitting up in the bed and smirking down at them. Adagio rolled her eyes and smiled.
"Nah, I'm sure he's just biding his time until he turns around and slashes me. Probably when he's done eating. Little monster..." Sunset chuckled and shook her head.
"Hmm...I wish he wasn't so feral...you two'd make quite the pair." Adagio scoffed.
"Heh, you think so?" She asked, looking at the bobcat and continuing to stroke his back. "I don't know...animals were never really my thing." She said with a shrug. Sunset cocked an eyebrow.
"Aren't you...practically an animal?" She asked. Adagio chuckled.
"Eh, yeah, a hippocampus, which I suppose is considered an animal. But, by nature, sirens are rather territorial creatures, so I never really found interest in any other creatures other than my fellow sirens, sooooo...forgive me if I'm hesitant to form any strong bonds with any animals..." She said with a smirk. Sunset smiled and sleepily slipped from the bed, walking over to Adagio and kneeling next to her, watching the cat.
"Buuuuut...you have to admit...he's pretty cute." She said, nudging Adagio. The siren chuckled and sighed.
"Heh, I guess..." She said, stopping her petting. Sunset then reached into the bag and pulled out another plastic bowl.
"I'll go fill this up with water, 'kay? If he's this hungry, then he's probably thirsty, too." Adagio nodded as Sunset stood up and began walking towards the bathroom. The siren looked back to the cat.
"Hmm...bobcat...bob...cat...bobb-...Bobby..." She smirked. "Bobby." She took her hand and brought it up to his head, hesitating before gingerly placing her hand on it. The cat immediately reacted by jerking away and hissing, swatting at her hand. Adagio yanked her hand away. "Yeah, not yet, huh.?" She said with a curt chuckle. "Baby steps, I guess." At the sound of Sunset coming back into the room, she turned her head and smiled. The girl came in and sat down next to Adagio, placing the water bowl on the ground next to the food one.
"Heard him hiss. What'd you do this time?" She asked with a chuckle. Adagio smirked.
"I just tried petting his head, and he turned on me with intent to kill." She said jokingly. "Like I said, me and other creatures just DON'T get along." Sunset then leaned against her and lied her head on her shoulder.
"But you and I get along, and I'm practically an equine. So you can get along with other creatures. I think your personality just makes you choose not to get along with them." She chuckled, poking Adagio's arm playfully. The siren rolled her eyes.
"Maybe so. It's not like I'm not trying, though. He just hates me."
"I don't think he hates you. I just think he remembers that you're the one that yells a lot." Adagio scoffed and shoved Sunset lightly.
"Oh, hush." Sunset giggled and rubbed some of the sleep from her eyes before suddenly shooting up straight to her feet.
"Oh, shit!" She yelped. Adagio looked up at her and raised an eyebrow.
"What's wrong?"
"Adagio, what time is it?!" With a sigh, Adagio took out her phone and looked.
"It's nearly noon." She said. Sunset ran a hand through her hair with a groan.
"Shit, I need to go! I'll be late for my interview!" Adagio stood up and faced her.
"Interview?" Sunset paced a little and bit her lip.
"Yes. I'm trying to get a second job, and I have my interview today...shit..." She sighed and went over to the bed and sat down, slipping on her shoes. "Sorry to leave so abruptly...wish I could stay..." She said sadly, standing up and walking up to Adagio.
"It's fine, Sunset. I understand." She said, giving her a lopsided smile. Sunset smiled back and wrapped her arms around Adagio, giving her a short kiss.
"I'll be back as soon as I can." She said, separating from the girl and beginning to head towards the door. "Love you!" She said, blowing her a kiss and waving as she exited the room, not even giving her a chance to respond. Adagio just smirked and shook her head, sitting down on the edge of her bed.
"Love you too, you crazy unicorn..." She sighed and looked over to the cat, who was sitting there, watching her. "And what do you want?" It just licked its lips and continued staring uninterestedly at her. She rolled her eyes. "Whatever." A light growling sound suddenly filled the room right after she said this, and Adagio knew it couldn't have been the cat, because he'd perked his ears and was looking around for the source. The siren looked sheepishly down at her stomach, now noticing her hunger. She sighed. "Guess it's time for breakfast." She said, standing up and walking over to her door. Giving the cat a glare as she opened the door, she pointed at him. "You. Stay here." Then, with that, she exited the room and made sure to close the door behind her.

After a long day of spending the morning listening to Aria complaining about how cold it was getting, being forced to go on a walk with Sonata and Steven, going out to lunch with Sunset, coming back to the farm to find a dead, torn open sheep in the road leading up to the house which she decided she didn't feel like questioning, and having dinner with the Apple Family, she went up to her room to find none other than Steven snarling and scratching at her door.
"Shoo, mutt!" She barked, pushing the dog away from the door. With a disgruntled bark, the canine stalked away from the room and went downstairs, probably to find Sonata. With a huff, she opened the door and went inside, but she stopped in her tracks. The feline was curled up on the bed. HER bed. You know, the one she had to sleep on. And the cat was on it. You know, the one that tries to attack her whenever she went near it. As she closed the door behind her, the cat bolted its head up, looking around the room sleepily until his eyes landed on her. He didn't do anything; he just stared. At least he wasn't acting defensive. Maybe he wasn't feeling like being a jerk at the moment. Carefully, Adagio made her way over to him, and the closer she got, the wider the cat's eyes got. Regardless, she went up to the bed and slowly stuck her hand out towards him. When it was just an inch away from the animal's face, he leaned forward slightly and sniffed her hand. Well, that's new. Normally, he'd be swiping at her right about now. Adagio was about to conclude that the cat was somehow nicer now, but she immediately scratched that when the cat jerked its head back slightly as a low growl began emitting from its throat. Adagio pulled her hand away. "Jerk..." She snapped. With an indignant huff, Adagio turned and walked over to her closet. "Okay, you wanna play mean? Lets play mean..." She said as she reached in and grabbed a few hangers. She then took one and hurled it at the cat, nearly hitting him. He hissed, but she didn't care. She needed her bed. She took another one and hurled it at him, which would have hit him if he didn't dodge out of the way. With a confident grin, she hurled the last one, which didn't come close to hitting him, but he must've gotten tired of having things thrown at him, because he hopped off the bed and darted under it. With a nod and a smile of satisfaction, Adagio picked up the hangers from the floor and bed and hung them back up before getting ready for her needed beauty sleep.

Turning off the light and slipping under the covers, she exhaled and closed her eyes, welcoming sleep. But...she did not fall asleep as quickly as she hoped. She just lied there for a while, staring through half-lidded, tired eyes into the darkness of her room. Suddenly, though, she felt a sudden weight on the bed. It moved daintily over her legs, and she could feel it moving closer to her torso. She knew immediately that it was the damn cat. She tensed, trying to lie still, not wanting to spook it or give it a reason to attack her. The pawsteps stopped near her midsection, and she felt it curl against her abdomen. Did...did it even know she was here? She decided not to test it, and continued lying still until, finally, she drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, Adagio was awoken by the sound of her bedroom door opening and closing, but she didn't open her eyes. What DID get a reaction from her was when a voice invaded the quiet.
"Aww, that's just precious~" Adagio's eyes snapped open, and she was about to sit up when a surprising sight met her eyes. The bobcat was no longer by her abdomen, but was lying with its head near hers, and the rest of its body under the blanket, as if sleeping like a person. Its head was resting on its paws, and it was purring softly as it slowly breathed. Adagio stiffened. He was so close, that she most likely wouldn't be able to move without waking him up. She looked past him to see Sunset grinning at them with an adoring look on their face. Adagio huffed.
"Do you know how to knock first?" She hissed. Sunset shrugged, a playful look on her face.
"Sorry, don't think I took that class." Adagio rolled her eyes and motioned to the cat.
"Well, can you at least help me out here? I don't want to wake him up when he's THIS close to me." Sunset smiled and nodded, taking something from her satchel yet again. Great, what was it this time? Sunset suddenly began making clicking noises, and the cat's ears perked. He picked his head up, but he did not look at Sunset. He looked at...Adagio. Suddenly shooting up on all four paws, he hissed, arching his back. Both of the girls' eyes widened, and Sunset took the thing out of her bag. A can. A can. What good would that do?! But Adagio was surprised with the effect that ensued. She peeled open the metal lid to the can and waved it around, filling the room with its aroma. The cat's head snapped in Sunset's direction, and he hesitated before leaping from the bed and going towards the other girl.
"Good kitty..." She murmured, placing the can on the ground for him to eat from. Adagio sniffed the air and recoiled, scrunching up her face and covering her mouth and nose with a hand.
"Oh, sick...tuna..." She grumbled. Sunset smirked and held out a second can to her.
"Here, fishy-fishy~" She said mockingly. "Who's a good sea monster? Want a treat~?" Adagio scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"Psht, shush, you damn unicorn...I only like my tuna whole. Bloody. Uncooked." She said, looking at the contents of the can. "Not that...mush..." Sunset shivered at Adagio's description and shook her head.
"Gross..." Adagio rolled her eyes and looked at Sunset.
"Yeah, you think so, until it becomes one of the things you need to survive on after all of your powers are stripped away." She stated blatantly. Sunset gave her a sheepish look before quickly looking away.
"Heh, yeah, I guess." She said a bit awkwardly. Adagio smiled and put a hand on her shoulder.
"But that's in the past. The only thing we can do is move forward..." She said, before giving Sunset a somewhat seductive smirk. "...and I like the direction things are moving~" She said, chuckling softly. Sunset's face grew slightly red, and she smirked at Adagio.
"Heheh...me too~" She said before giving Adagio a small kiss. Adagio smiled.
"Good~"
