Hey peeps! I'm watching Lemonade Mouth as I edit this chapter. I wished they made a sequel to it.
Also will be updating Turn of Changes by tonight. I promise! I just need to look over it again and edit it once more.
Marley, now about five months along, didn't get out so much unless it was for work. She tried food shopping but her feet would hurt so it'd take her forever to get through the line. Nor could she do much at home other than relax. She didn't mind relaxing but she was relaxing too much at home and not being able to workout so much she was bored. Even her Lamaze classes were boring as hell. Though Brittany, Blaine and Vinessa were there for various of reasons (bored, reason, bored) she still got bored out of her mind.
With the school season starting for the year most the kids in their neighborhood were gone, leaving Marley to think about the future about her own child starting school. She and Ryder would make sure their baby would be smarter than other kids in their class and that he or she would manage to go through struggles. Ryder's only worry would be his son or daughter would be have a dyslexic problem or any other problem like that, but Marley reassured him that they would get help for that as soon as possible if they started to see signs. Ryder felt comfortable when she told him this and told himself that he wasn't going to let a mistake happen twice; not getting help as soon as possible. He wanted to be there for his kid, no matter what the reason.
With Ryder working a double shift this day, 7 AM to at least 10, Marley was left alone. Grace and Jester kept her company until they wondered off for a nap in their little bed in front of the TV. She tried reading a couple of books, sang to her baby belly and talking to them, but she got bored again. And just about everyone was busy now that the school season started, meaning most of their jobs went back to being filled with kids.
"I hate this. God I hate this a lot." Marley said, clad in her nightgown still as she laid back on the chair. Thinking all she needed was to get out of the house for a while Marley decided to walk to the park and stay there for a while until she wasn't too bored.
A shower, change of clothes hair and face done later Marley was out of the house with Jester and Grace attached to their leashes and on her way down to the park. She passed by mothers with their children in strollers and seeing newborns brought outside to enjoy the fresh air. It just made her all happy.
At the park Marley sat down on a bench, letting the pups sniff around and make themselves comfortable. It was chilly out so she wouldn't be out here for too long, just until she felt like when Ryder came home from work later she had a story to tell other than ' I sat on the couch all day.' Boring.
A kick startled her, though gentle. She soothingly pressed her hand onto her baby belly and rubbed her child with a smile. "Four more months baby. Four more months until we meet. And you know what, baby? I'm just so excited to see you! I wish Nana Rose was here too see you, but she's always watching us. And Daddy's parents are watching over you too."
Senior year of high school, 2014-2015 school year. It was just the third week of October when the accident happened. Eighteen year old Ryder. Their only son. His entire world changed from that day forward and although he learned to get passed it with the help of his friends in Glee club and graduate-Glee friends and Finn and Mr. Schue, those first five months of school were just Hell for him.
Marley rubbed her baby belly for a while longer as she rested back and let the cold chilly air sooth her. Everything was just okay for her now.
The walk home an hour later was pleasant until she saw a familiar face across the street. A short blonde to be exact. Luckily she was yelling at some guy about something and didn't see Marley.
Call her crazy but Marley could hear Kitty's voice in her head, taunting her and her baby weight. Fat. Fat Burger. Giving birth to a fat retarded baby. Fat-ass. Fatty burger. Fat-ass burger. And just more, mean, terrible insults. Marley didn't want to purge but she felt like she needed too.
"Well I haven't purged in a couple of weeks...maybe one time won't hurt." She muttered to herself. "When I get home."
Ugh, no! Don't Marley! No, not a good idea. Don't do it! Keep it inside for Baby and Ryder. Please? Do it!
At home Marley saw Ryder's car in the driveway. Why was he home this early? Marley entered inside the house and called out for him. "Ryder? You here?"
"Living room!" Ryder called back.
Marley wobbled herself into the room and saw him on the couch reading the newspaper with one leg crossed over the other leg. When he heard her walk in he put the paper down and smiled up at her. "Hey pretty, where'd you go?"
"Just for a walk. I was bored." She said. "Why are you home so early?"
"Oh work just got a little crazy so I took the day off." He told her. Though she could read through his face that something was wrong. She stood there with crossed arms and a look on her face. He knew that look. "Okay...okay, Marley sit here." Ryder scooted over a bit so there was enough room for the two of them.
Marley walked over and sat next to him. Ryder took her hand in his own and squeezed it tightly but gently. Ryder took a deep breathe before looking at Marley with deep eyes. "I got laid off."
"What!?" Marley yelled. "What do you mean you got laid off!? How could they do that!?"
"Marley, relax honey, they needed to let some people go." Ryder said. "He did it nicely too, he felt bad."
"Oh well i'm so frigging GLAD that he felt TERRIBLE for laying you off, but doesn't your boss know that you have a FREAKING BABY ON THE WAY!?" Marley screamed. "I'm pretty sure you the only damn guy in the office who has a kid on the way!"
"Marley some of them have kids too—"
"Oh and what!? They're still working there?"
"Marley, please clam down. It'll be okay. We'll make do for now and I'll start looking for another job soon." Ryder said, hoping she'd calm down. "Marley do not stress about this okay. This is nothing to stress about."
"Nothing to stress about!? Ryder that is a job that will help take care of our FAMILY! OUR GROWING FAMILY! And you're telling me that it's nothing to STRESS ABOUT?" She yelled. "Jesus I'm going to have to work every day now and I'll never see my baby and I'll just be that woman in the house to them!"
"Marley no you're not going to work everyday. You're not going to add anymore hours to your work, okay? Our baby will know its mother, alright?" Ryder kissed her cheek. "We'll be fine. I'll find another job in a few days."
"Fine." Marley said in a bitter tone, still pissed.
"Don't stress."
"I'm not stressing, asshole."
"Marley," Ryder's tone went up a bit. "Calm. Down."
"I am calm!"
"Marley...," He sighed, "Look, I think Burt still owns the auto-car-fix place. I'll ask him for a temporary job until I can find a solid job. Alright? And the pay it good, not as much as I did before, but good enough. Okay?"
"Fine." She said.
"Good." Ryder kissed the tip of her nose. "Want lunch?"
She nodded. "Sure."
1:30 AM
Downstairs Bathroom.
After a third gag Marley felt better. She flushed the toilet and washed her hands and drinking some water. She looked into her reflection and said, "Everything going to be fine. Just stop eating so much. If you stop eating so much than food shopping won't have to happen for a while longer. Just stop eating so much, okay."
She gazed down at her stomach. "You'll be fine baby. I promise."
