Kisaru's P.O.V

He really is the one for me. When I was about to put him down, it suddenly started raining. I held him closer to me to shield him from the rain then stood up and started running. I ran and ran but I couldn't see far because of all the rain.

"Over there, Kisaru!" Neji pointed his cute little paw towards a dark cave. I ran over there then placed Neji on the ground. Dang it... I forgot. This is a poisonous forest. The rain must have some weird side effect that will take place later. Neji sat across from me and sat down. But as the silence between us dragged on, I had the sudden urge to sing a song... But what song? I just couldn't put my finger on it...

"What's wrong, Kisaru?" Neji asked me, placing a comforting paw on my knee.

"Well... For some reason, I have the urge to sing a song..." I said.

"Well... Okay. What song do you have in mind?" he asked me.

"Hm..." I thought about it harder then a tune popped into my head.

"Love is not proud. Love does not boast. Love after all, matters the most." I sang. Neji's eyes widen a bit but then, he just went along with it then lied down on my lap.

"Love does not run. Love does not hide. Love does not keep locked inside." I continued. Strange... I don't even know where these words are coming from. They just pop up, one after the other. But what really makes me wonder is why does it have to be about love?

"Love is the river that flows through. And love never fails you~." I continued as the rain continued on pouring.

"Love will sustain. Love will provide. Love will not cease at the end of time. Love will protect. Love always hopes. And love still believes when you don't." I sang some more as I let my eyelids drop and I lift my head up.

"Love is the arms that are holding you. Love never fails you~." I paused.

"When my heart won't make a sound, when I can't turn back around, when the sky is falling down, nothing is greater than this, greater than this."

"'Cuz love is right here. Love is alive. Love is-"

"The way, the truth, the life." Surprisingliy, Neji cut me off.

"Love is a river that flows through." he continued.

"Love is the arms that are holding you." I sang after him.

"And love love is a place you will fly to~." he answered back.

"And love never fails you~." we sang together.

But something felt strange. Neji grew bigger in my hands and his fur was longer and softer. When I looked down to him, he was back to his normal human state. His head was resting on my lap and he had his eyes closed with a small smile on his face. He took a deep breath then opened his eyes to meet my loving and passionate gaze. And he returned it with the same amount of love. He placed a hand on my cheek then I blushed. I lowered my head slowly then kissed him. He hesitated at first then returned the kiss. We broke apart then blushed a deep scarlet red.

"Neh, Kisaru..." Neji said.

"What is it?" I asked him.

"Promise me that you'll never leave my side ever again...?" he said shyly as he looked away from my eyes and his cheeks flush.

I giggled and said, "Of course. I'll love you forever."

"Warn me when forever starts to end." he said, looking at me again.

I smiled then looked outside. The rain stopped and we can finally resume our mission. He stood up then held his hand out to help me up. I took it but for some reason, I couldn't move my legs.

"Neji... I can't stand up..." I said, trying to get up. he crouched down and took a look at my legs.

"It must have been the mud and the rain that caused your legs to be paralyzed." he said. "Oh well... I'll just have to carry you." he said with a slightly amused smile as he crouched down to carry piggy-back style. I got on him then he stood up.

*~TWO WEEKS LATER~*

Two weeks have passed and we didn't find anything. At the same time, I wasn't doing much either, with my legs paralyzed and all. We kept wandering around the forest but we still didn't find any missing people. We were, again, wandering around for more people. But we had to take a break because I think Neji was getting tired of carrying me. So he set me down by a tree a large tree trunk then sat beside me.

"Aw, what's a cute little couple doing in the Forest of Beasts?" a voice said from behind the leaves. Neji shot up and went into defense mode and activated his byakugan. He took a few steps forward then checked behind the bush. He disappeared for a bit and I was left to myself.

"Having a date in the Forest of Beasts, huh? Geez, you could have done a much better job in finding a boyfriend than that guy." a guy said as he came down from a branch and landed right in front of me. He crouched down and held my chin with his hand and pushed my face nearer to his.

"Why not come with me? I'll make you feel so good." he said with vigor in his tone as he lazily dragged his lips against my neck. He quickly picked me up then jumped away.

"NEJI! SAVE ME!" I screamed before he knocked me out.
