A/N: I know, a pox on me but work was crazy! Here it is, finally, the last chapter. Short and sweet. Happy Holidays

"Easy Jayje." Morgan helped her out of the car and into the wheelchair she was stuck in for a little while.

"I really hate this Derek." The exertion of just riding in the car had made her break into a sweat.

"I know." He waited for Emily to come around the other side before pushing the wheelchair forward. The change in Emily had been nothing short of amazing. He knew that both women were hurting, not just physically, but if anything this encounter had made them stronger.

"You ready?" Emily's soft voice whispered in her ear and she nodded. The others were preparing a little welcome home get together. All she really wanted to do was go lay down but she knew they all needed this, this reconnect.

Emily walked by her side as Morgan pushed JJ forward in the wheelchair. It had taken a day longer than they thought but she was finally home. JJ didn't start physical therapy until Monday so they had the weekend for themselves. Emily herself wasn't due back for a bit thanks to her hand, her own neglected injuries and Hotch's request to Strauss. The last had surprised her given how she had behaved but she would be grateful for whatever time she could be given with JJ.

They couldn't help but smile when Garcia burst out the front door. Her clothes while more subdued of late still had way more color than normal folks would wear and they loved it, and her.

"JJ!" She rushed up and gave and gave her a careful hug. The tears in her eyes came unbidden as she realized how close she had come to losing her best friend.

"Hey Pen, everyone upstairs?"

"Waiting on you sweetie. We won't stay long, promise."

"No worries Pen, at least I'll be home if I get tired, right?" JJ's measured tone was more from her pain medication wearing off than the need to be heard.

"Yes ma'am you will!" Garcia practically skipped alongside them. After the intervention with Emily, Penelope had broken down in Jordan's arms as she recounted finding Emily asleep with the baby booties on the bed. She and Jordan had spent the night discussing their own future together.

Emily couldn't help but smile at the interaction. She was beyond grateful for all her friends had done. Hotch and Rossi had accompanied her yesterday to see Senator Cramer at her request. She had kept a firm grip on her emotions while he had asked her with a straight face why she couldn't stay dead; That was all either man had to hear before getting her out of there. With Emily's evidence and McIntyre's testimony the feds believed that Cramer would never breathe free air again. She was satisfied. It's all she could be. She was happy they had all survived but she would never forgive herself the cost of it all.

Morgan tapped her on the shoulder, "Penny for your thoughts Princess."

Emily shook her head. "Nothing, just…nothing Derek, I'm good." She squeezed his hand and smiled.

"How is she?" Jane asked. Emily carefully closed the door to her bedroom and turned to her friend.

"Sleeping. She was hurting but she kept refusing to go to bed."

"Sounds familiar." Jane linked her arm through Emily's and walked down the hallway with her back to the others. "How are you doing?"

"Better I think. Lauren Reynolds is officially dead and I've never been happier about that."

"That's not what I'm talking about and you know it." Jane stopped her before she went any further. "Em…"

Emily hadn't spoken to anyone about what had happened to JJ. What she had lost, what they had both lost, but she knew she had to.

"We've barely touched on it. It hurts too much but we're going to be seeing someone. We both are." She hated to admit that to anyone but she was comfortable telling Jane. "We'll both be okay it'll just take a bit more planning than we thought initially." She tried to make light of it but Jane could see the pain in her eyes and let it go.

"Is she sleeping?" Garcia called to them both from the dining room.

"Soundly." Emily said.

"Maybe we should go ahead and leave." Hotch stood, as did the others.

"No please, really. Let's at least finish eating." Emily headed back into the kitchen followed by Rossi.

"Are you sure kid?"

"JJ will be pissed as hell at me if I let you guys leave just because she needed to lie down. Besides old man, I like the company." She chuckled as he sputtered at the old man comment.

JJ lay in bed watching as Emily made her way into the bedroom and hid a slight grin when she saw her stumble into the dresser. She had listened to them all as they celebrated their lives and while she had felt a bit guilty for not joining them, she knew she wasn't up to it, physically or emotionally. She was glad though that Emily had relaxed enough to spend time with their friends. What Emily had been through with her parents had frustrated her and her parents' apology before they left had grated on her regardless of its sincerity.

"Shit…shh…shh…" Emily hopped on one foot trying not to make noise. She knew she was tipsy, drunk really and while she hadn't meant to get that way, she felt good. She tried to rub out her toe while balancing on one foot and fell into the closet.

"Emily?" JJ sat up carefully, concern coloring her voice. "Are you all right?"

"Uhn…ow…yes…" Emily carefully pushed herself onto her knees, cursing when she put too much weight on her hand. "Dammit…" Unsteady she got to her feet and made her way to the bed.

"Sorry I woke you. How do you feel?" She concentrated on not slurring her words, a fact that wasn't lost on JJ.

"I'm fine, how are you?" Emily could hear the humor in JJ's voice.

"Okay now…mind if I just keep my clothes on?" Emily crawled onto the bed and relished the warmth that JJ's body gave off. It didn't take long before all JJ heard was her gentle snoring.

"Oh Emily…" JJ lay back on her pillows and rolled carefully to one side. This had truly been a rough time for them all, but for Emily; this had tested who she had grown to be. She had seen the baby booties on the dresser when she had lain down and she knew they would cry together over that over and over but they still had a future. With a tender kiss on her cheek JJ closed her eyes, "goodnight my love."

Maura ran a towel through her wet hair and stopped when Jane came in. "Did Vince and Barry get off all right?"

"Yes," Jane sat down and rolled her shoulders, 'lord but she was tired' she thought. Korsak had volunteered to fly back with Frost ahead them of them. They both still had another day before going back to Boston. She reached down to pull off her boots and stopped when Maura took a knee in front of her.

"Maur what are you doing?" Her voice was rough as she caught her breath. Maura's robe was open and the vision in front of Jane was enough to fulfill a hundred fantasies.

"I'm helping you." Maura said sweetly. She knew the effect she was having on Jane and it was one of the things she loved.

"I don't…Maura I don't need help." Jane tried to push her away and gasped when one hand brushed a bare breast.

"Oh…" Maura moved up Jane's legs and straddled her, "I think you do." Leaning over her she watched as water from her hair dripped onto Jane's shirt. With slow deliberation she unbuttoned Jane's shirt. "I think it's time for us to reconnect."

Jane's whimper made Maura smile. Today they had all taken a huge step forward in their lives. With JJ's homecoming, a few things were finally wrapped up. They deserved this time together.

"Maura…" Jane whined, she didn't want to disturb JJ and Emily in the room next door but the need she had for Maura was overwhelming.

"Jane Rizzoli, we are going to be married soon, I don't want to waste any more time away from you."

"Yes ma'am." Jane realized it was a losing battle and she didn't care. After tonight they would face whatever came at them together. They would see their friends again soon for the trial of Brandon Wilkins and they would see them again for their wedding. Reconnecting is exactly what she wanted to do. Grabbing Maura around the waist she rolled her over onto the bed. "But if you don't mind, I'd like to be in charge." Smashing her lips against Maura's, Jane didn't wait for permission.

I kept it brief because there had been so much previously. Besides, gotta save some for the next installment.
