Capitolrebel13: Just to let you know some sh**s about to go down. An intense chapter. It is it really is.

Chelen:...

Capitolrebel13: See? Even Chelen's speachless.

"PURPLE FISH ON ORANGE TUESDAYS!" I yell and wave my arms in the air. Yansen looks up.

"There she goes with again with the purple fish," Tresa says and even though I have my back to her I've got the feeling that she's rolling her eyes. I look back over my shoulder.

"I told you that you wouldn't get it." I say.

"No, Chelen!" Yansen yells back to me. "It orange fish on purple Fridays!"

Even after all these years he's still the same old Yansen. True friendship isn't about being inseparable, it's about being apart and nothing changes.

"I can see why you two are friends," Jacob says.

"I'm not sure if I should take that as an insult or a compliment," I laugh before jogging over to Yansen. A few paces behind him I see Kyro leaning against the Dome.

"Chelen, my home girl, what up?" Yansen asks with such a fake gangster accent when we're finally close enough to each other.

"Not much my dog. What up with you?" I can just barely control my laughter long enough to say.

"What," Katniss chuckles in disbelief. "I don't remember the Games being this amusing?

"You certainty chosen an interesting tribute to mentor." Peeta laughs.

Kyro is chuckling and shaking his head at us.

"I told she was crazy," Jacob says as him and Tresa catch up with us.

"I never said she wasn't."

"Oh she's crazy alright," Kyro says. He pushes himself off the wall and walks toward Tresa and Jacob, while completely ignoring me and Yansen. "In fact, she's so crazy that even she knows she's crazy but don't take my word for it."

"No one has to," I say to him, my voice maintaining annoyance. "This is all being broadcasted live to the entire country and Middle Earth. No wait. Not Middle Earth, the folks over there are too fond of technology." Everyone, even Yansen, stares at me with bewilderment. "What? The Lord of the Rings?"

They begin to look at one another. "Don't any of you read? The Lord of the Rings is the founder of fantasy novels and one of greatest literature trilogies ever written."

"Never heard of it." Jacob says and the other nod in agreement. I cross my arms and shake my head them.

"And people wonder why I don't fit in with Capitol citizens."

You're wrong Chelen, Caesar thinks. Nobody wonders why you don't fit in and I think everyone would agree that you don't. Perhaps amongst the elves is where you belong, after all you are so intrigued about the past and are quick to preserve it.

"What are you smiling about?" Haymitch asks.

"The book series she referred to." Of course Caesar would know of The Lord of the Rings, after all Terra had been the one to introduce it to him. She felt so passionate about the series that she made Caesar sit still and listen while she read the prologue and the first chapter to him. She then shoved The Fellowship of the Ring into his hands and told him to read it. Being the Capitol citizen that he was, Caesar felt inclined to throw the book into the drawer of his nightstand next to his bed and forget about it, which is what he did. His drawer is where the book stayed for nearly a year, to which Caesar had long forgot about it, until one day when he was digging through the drawer in search of something. Instead Caesar picked The Fellowship of the Ring back up and began to glance through it. He felt guilty for throwing Terra's back down and not picking it up once, so he reread everything for the beginning of the prologue, since he had forgotten any of what Terra had read to him. That same night he read up to chapter seven. It did not come as a surprise to Caesar that Chelen knew of the series.

"First it's purple fish and now it's some made up place from a story book." Tresa says.

"Hey." Yansen calls. "I know what the purple fish are about so she's not entirely crazy."

"Even so," Kyro says. "She's still exactly not sane."

"She was at one point." Yansen points out. "Since then she's been going coo-coo and I'm sure it'll only get worse."

"I'm standing right here you know. I can hear everything you guys are saying." Everyone looks at me with blank expressions. I sigh, roll my eyes, and then turn to Yansen. "So you found Kyro. Now what? One does not simply win the Capitol Games."

"Well, I told you that he had something to tell you. So come on you two, whatever your names are," Yansen says to Tresa and Jacob. "Let these two have some privacy. We can get to know each other a little bit better over here." Yansen walks away. Tresa and Jacob look at each for a minute before shrugging and following him.

"Wow, that's a lot of privacy," Kyro says.

"Would you forget about privacy, every thing's being broadcasted to the country. Now, what is it you want to tell me?" I ask and turn my back to Yansen, Tresa, and Jacob.

"IDK… My BFF Jill."

"Oh my god!" I say and bring my hand to my chest. "You have a best friend named Jill that you don't know? So do I!" My smile reaches from ear to ear. Kyro gives a light hearted laugh. You got to count on my mom for a good old laugh in her commercials.

"I can't believe you. Even in danger you're still up for jokes."

"Dude, I just screamed 'purple fish on orange Tuesday' when I saw Yansen. Of course, I'm always up for jokes. And you're the one who said 'IDK my BFF Jill', so you started it. Seriously though, what did you want to tell me?" I cross my arms and crock an eyebrow at him.

"Oh, well… Uhmmmm." He scratches the back of his head looks at the ground. "Well you see. I uh… really like–" I cut him off by throwing my arms around him and pressing our lips together. Kyro tenses up at first but then kisses me back. After a moment I push him away.

"I'm not here to fall in love, understand?" I ask him, he nods his head.

"I didn't say 'love', did I," He asks.

"No."

"I just wanted you to know how I felt but I kind of sucked at saying it. Thanks for taking charge."

"Yeah, sure, no problem. Anytime." I start to walk back to Yansen. Ok? What kind of man doesn't want to be in charge? Whatever though, I don't care for being told what to do anyways. Ow! I lean forward and rub the back of my head. What was that?

"Are you ok?" Kyro asks.

"No, well yeah but something hit me in the back of the head. It felt like a rock." I turn back around. "Ah! What the f**k! My eye! That was just starting to heal!" I bend forward and bring my hand to my black eye. Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow! And I was hoping that I would be able to open it soon. Kyro steps in front of me while I'm bent over. "I gonna kill whoever did that. I swear on my life, just you wait until I get my hands on you, whoever you are!"

"Wrong eye," I hear someone say but not just anyone. I know that voice all too well.

"What happened?" Yansen asks. I look over. Huh, I didn't even hear him, Tresa, and Jacob walking, or running, over to us.

"I don't see what the difference would be if I hit the other one. It wouldn't have given her a black eye. At least now, the damage done to the one she already has prolongs her lack of clear eyesight."

"Someone hurt Chelen." Kyro says. I straighten up.

"Hey! She didn't hurt me, she hit me in the eye." I say while bouncing once on the balls of my feet and smiling.

"Chelen, do you always have to be so tough?" Yansen asks. I look him dead in the eyes.

"Watch yourself Yansen." Although I probably would have said the same thing, that was not my voice. "She's been known to be a loose cannon."

She and some girl– where have I seen her before again– jump down from the roof of low raise building. She keeps her balance when she lands but the girl stumbles.

"Melki!" Tresa yells.

"Melki?" I say. "I didn't recognize you without your face in the dirt." She growls at me and I laugh. Melki tries to rush toward me but She holds her back.

"She's mine and so are the two older boys. You want the girl. And I don't care what you do to the other boy." She says with her nose a little in the air.

"Hey Theresa," I say. Yes, Theresa… That is her name isn't it? "I get it. You're cooler than us. You drove your mother's corvette while I took the bus. There was a time and a place where you meant something to me. But time has shown and now I know that I was wrong and you will always be a (b/w)itch. A Fake. Your parents were right, you're their greatest mistake." I can see her teeth grinding to together. "Oh, I'm sorry. Did I hit a nerve when I mentioned your parents? Or are you just putting up a show for our lovely audience?" Oh, I hit a nerve alright but I don't care, I'm on a roll.

"You know, you always said that so long as we stick together we'd be alright. What happened to that? I really must thank you though for showing me that best friends cannot be trusted. And when you're backed into a corner in this forsaken place you'll remember me and wish I was there to have your back. And I'll be the one you'll miss the most but you'll only find my ghost, rather that's my ghost of the past or my literal ghost that doesn't really matter. The point is, I don't know who you are anymore and I'm starting to wonder if I ever really did."

"Oh you never knew. You just thought you did. And that's the way I wanted it." Her matter-of-fact tone is not appreciated. "In fact, there is a lot you don't know. I was planning on keeping it from you forever but seeing how we're in the Games I think I might as well tell you. I'd love to see your reaction anyway. You know your mother died and everyone had no idea how or why. Well, the doctors were either complete idiots or they wanted her dead too. All doctors are required to have knowledge of poisons and if her doctors knew a thing or two they would have saw that she wasn't sick at all. Looking back now, I must admit that I was careless. I may have been able to get the poison to her in an unsuspecting way but the poison I used was very amateur."

"You…." Her… she… couldn't… but she did… but how could she…

"Yes, me." She smiles and shrugs as if humbly accepting a comment. "It was at a dinner party your parents were throwing. It was where we first met actually. My parents had been invited and brought me along. Of course they didn't know what I was planning. They were actually planning on doing it themselves but I beat them to the punch line."

"Why?" Why… Why… Why… Why… Why…

"Don't you know? Your mother was working with the rebels. Every attempt at her life by Snow had failed so I stepped in. I was always told I was smart for my age but that's not the point. The War, had your mother lived to see, would have been different with her involved. Trust me, the rebels would not had struggled with those stupid "propos" of theirs. And not doubt she would have stolen our beloved Caesar and taken him to 13. Can you imagine just how quickly the Capitol people would have turned against our President and the Games if they saw that their favorite celebrity was against them? I guess my work didn't help at that much in the long run since here we are now oh well. I'll just have to win. I didn't think you were a real threat to me since you showed no real good signs of combat in the training center. Then I saw how good you were with a knife. If those F-ing kids yours hadn't come running when they did I would've stay till the cannon went off." She glares over at them before making eye contact with me again. She stars laughing and shaking her head…

Boom!

Theresa's smile has been replaced but bank stare. Her eyes shift to the area next to me where Melki stands. My arm isn't by my side. My knife isn't where it's supposed to be on my belt. Somewhere in the distance I faintly hear someone has collapsed to the ground… I said I'll kill when I was ready. I take half a step back preparing to launch at Theresa. Something stops me then I'm on the ground struggling to shove off whatever is on me.

"Chelen! Stay down, you're not a killer!" I hear Kyro shout in my ear. Like hell I'm not!.. Did I say this? I should, maybe he'll get off me. "You! Girl with the bow! Get her! She's getting away. Yansen what you doing?"

"Get off me Kyro! I'll rip her to shreds! How dare she?! How dare she!?" Kyro actually listens and gets off but not let my go after Theresa. He holds me down. Breath Chelen, breath. Wait, what good is that going to do? There's no air. Why is there no air anymore? Are they trying to kill us all at once now? And why is no one fainting? Why are they not holding their throat, struggling to breath?

My mother. My mother. My life. Gone. All because of her.

Finnick: Well then... That Theresa, she's really a (b/w)icth

Chelen:...

Capitolrebel13: Not a very nice person is she.
