Woo! SO I'm really getting these out huh? It's just that sometimes I get in these moods where I'm like "WRITE WRITE WRITE KEEP GOING DON'T STOP I DON'T CARE IF YOUR FINGERS ARE SPLASHING BLOOD ALL OVER YOUR KEYBOARD WIPE IT OFF AND KEEP GOING!" And then other times it's like "I have jack for ideas….. NO CHAPTER FOR YOU TODAY!" I'd like to thank 6 for pulling me out of the latter mood! You really got my booty in gear so thank you! :)
Disclaimer: Really? If I had FairyTail it wouldn't be as tame as it is. *evil grin*
Enjoy!~

Previously on Dragon's Heart
"…. She couldn't handle it….. She snapped." Seiko sobbed.
"She snapped? What do you mean she snapped?" Natsu asked, his stomach dropping to somewhere in the earth below his feet.
"Natsu… Kaia went insane…"
Now…
"Insane? What do you mean she went insane?" Natsu asked.
"Did you not see what happened back there?" Seiko pointed south towards the patch of icy wasteland.
"I-…. I saw it." He gulped, remembering the frozen heart.
"That destruction, it wasn't an accident. Kaia lost it, and-….. There were people crowded in the room we were stuck in when it happened. She bit someone Natsu. Until she broke the chick's shoulder. Her mind is like a bag full of wet cats. She's crazier than me! She-….. She's broken…. She let out our magic and she laughed because she knew what would happen to those people. I understand that it sounds hypocritical, me judging her for killing, but I never revel in it like she did!"
"No! No, shut up!" He snapped and shook his head.
"Natsu! I'm telling you the truth and you need to listen because she's not the same! The Kaia you know is gone! She punched through a man and ripped out his heart after he'd been frozen!" His eyes widened and shot to hers. He paled.
"I-… I saw the heart…." He whispered. Seiko bit her lip and gulped back more tears.
"She's…. Shattered. The pain she was dealing with is the pain I normally deal with. And she had that girl pushing her toward the edge until she fell over."
"I want to talk to her."
"Who?"
"Kaia."
"No!"
"Why not?" He asked as a squeal of glee rattled around in Seiko's brain. She flinched and struggled to stay in control.
"She's still crazy Natsu. I don't know how she's gonna react to you." She shook her head.
"What do you mean?"
"She called for you. She cried, and screamed your name. We were both hoping and wishing and dreaming you'd barge in with your normal fighting attitude and save us. I know it's not fair to you and I know that there's no way you could have known something was that wrong but…. Kaia without her sanity….. She's pretty pissed, but also happy!" She said trying to lessen the painful blow.
"God, I'm so sorry." He whispered, feeling the guilt.
"No! Don't you dare! This is not your fault, if you feel guilty over this I will cause you bodily harm! The bastards who did this and the ones who should be guilty are dead so don't you dare start feeling like this is your fault!"
"I let her go on this mission alone!"
"The mission was totally bogus! It's not your fault or her fault, it's not anyone but those assholes' faults." Seiko snarled jabbing a finger into his chest. "So don't. You. Even. Dare!" She poked him with each emphasized word and he almost smiled. But his mood went back down quickly.
"Kaia, if you can hear me, I'm sorry." He mumbled.
"Che!" Seiko threw her hands up and turned away. "This is all so fucked up! Natsu's feeling guilty over something he can't control, and you've gone and lost your damn mind! And now I'm the most sane one!? Jesus Kaia, you need to get your shit back together cause this isn't cool! When I could actually talk to you, you were always telling me he was your mate right?" She paused for a response.
He's mine! Mine, mine, mine! Kaia chanted.
"Well if you want him back, you're gonna have to pull yourself together! Gaha! You really expect me to let you take over when you're all messed up in the head? Snap out of it you dumby, the pain is gone! I shoved that bitch back so you can't hear her for now!... Get your sanity back and then we'll talk about you getting to be out with Natsu or anyone for that matter." Seiko huffed.
"Seiko?" Natsu asked. The bluenette turned back around to see his confused look. "What's going on?"
"I'm fighting with Kaia. She wants to come out but there's no way in hell I'm letting her take over when she's all cuckoo kachoo." Seiko huffed as she crossed her arms over her chest. The Fire Dragon Slayer nodded slowly.
"And how is the pain gone?"
"Well, I really should specify, you don't know what I mean cause you can't read my mind. I mean that the splitting headache is gone. Two voices in one head? Remember when we told you how painful that was? Yeah, that pain is gone. Our body still hurts like hell, speaking of do you have any water, I'm running on adrenaline here." She said. Natsu shook his head.
"No, not with me. We can go to town and get some though." He said. She nodded.
"Okay." She muttered. "Is anyone else with you? I don't know if I can act like Kaia right now."
"You don't have to act like Kaia." He frowned.
"Yes I do. I have to blame the mess of the facility on myself, no one can know that Kaia-…. It's believable that I killed everyone there just by letting go of my magic. I did it in the forest with god knows how many innocent animals." She frowned. "And I've killed people before on purpose with my magic. Kaia….. I don't want people to treat her how they treat me. She didn't mean too even though she did. She just isn't herself right now. Hopefully she'll snap out of it when I heal us and the pain is gone." She sighed.
"Okay… Well everyone else is with me."
"Everyone!?" She exclaimed.
"Our team yeah." He nodded.
"Oh, oh god you scared me I thought all of FairyTail had come after us." She sighed in relief as they began walking back towards the town.
"No." He looked confused as to why she'd think that.
"Natsu…?" She started after a moment.
"Yeah?"
"How long were we gone?" She asked quietly.
"A month." He mumbled.
"A month." She echoed. "It felt like years."
"I'm-ow!" He whined as he rubbed where she'd punched. Her head was down and he smelled salt water. "Seiko? Are you okay?"
"I already told you not to apologize. This isn't your fault. None of it. Not the mission, and definitely not Kaia's condition." Her voice shook.
"Seiko…?" He asked in concern.
"The mission, no one could have known that it was fake. And as for Kaia's condition, I'm solely responsible for that." She said thickly.
"Seiko no-"
"If I had been stronger! If only I could have been stronger and bared the pain of our magic, that other girl wouldn't exist! She wouldn't have tormented Kaia like she torments me! She wouldn't have been able to turn Kaia into a monster like she did me! It's my fault that she exists, it's my fault that she pushed Kaia past the line of insanity! I'm responsible for this!" She exploded. Natsu stared shocked.
"What is it you told me earlier Seiko? The only people who are at fault are dead. All of this, it's solely their fault. Don't blame yourself, because you could only handle so much. Kaia could only handle so much. Don't you dare blame yourself." He tried to lift her head but she jerked her chin out of his hold and looked away. "Dammit if you blame yourself then it's my fault too! I didn't come look for you when I first felt things were wrong!" He snapped as he grabbed her shoulders. Seiko's head snapped over to look at him at that. She glared and the temperature around her dropped to freezing. Frost appeared on the ground.
"Take that back right now!" She snarled.
"No! If you're gonna blame yourself then I'm at fault too. Hell if you really think about it, everyone in the world could be at fault for some reason or another." He snapped.
"Shut up!" Seiko exclaimed grabbing her head. Natsu jerked back a little as she screamed.
"Sei-"
"Get away from me Natsu! Get away now!" She shouted as she dropped to all fours.
"What- why!?" He exclaimed.
"K-Kaia…. She's…. Stronger than me….. Get away!" She snarled.
"No! I'm not leaving you!"
"Do it or you'll shatter to pieces!" She screamed. "Kaia can't control the magic like this, it's gonna come back out in the immediate area at this rate-dammit! Kaia stop this!" She put her hands over her head as it dropped onto the grass. "I-I've been keeping the magic focused on what's left of that damned facility but she can't do that when she's not normal! Get away! I'm telling you for your own safety, Please!" She cried. Natsu clenched his hands into fists and gnashed his teeth.
"I'm not going far." He said finally before turning and running off, over the next hill. Just as he reached the bottom he heard another scream and then a shockwave of cold frosted the grass under his feet. Immediately he turned back around and began running back towards were Kaia now was. He reached the top of the hill and froze. There she was. Standing in the middle of the giant icy area her magic had made. She was staring up at him, blank faced. No spark of happiness, or even recognition. Nothing at all. She began walking forward and ice formed in front of her in a wide girth with each step she took.
"Wait! Kaia stay there! I'll come down to you!" He called. She stopped and waited. He jogged down the hill and moved carefully over the glossy and slick ice. As he moved forward it got colder and colder. Kaia seemed to be like an air conditioner, chilled air blasted out from her body like heat radiated from Natsu.
"Hello Natsu." She greeted blandly as he came to a stop in front of her.
"Kaia…" He murmured, frowning. He stepped forward and she suddenly stepped back. He looked hurt. "Kaia, I just want to hug you." He promised.
"I called for you. I screamed and begged and prayed you'd come get me. Did you not feel anything?" She asked. He gulped hard.
"I felt it. I felt something was wrong and it got worse over time." He mumbled.
"And you didn't do anything about it sooner. I needed you! And you weren't there!" She was screaming suddenly.
"Kaia, I'm so sorry, everyone was telling me that I was just missing you and that you could handle your mission-"
"There was no mission! It was faked, god knows what those assholes actually wanted with me! I was beaten every day for not giving them what they wanted and I was crying for you! Hoping you'd rescue me!" She snarled.
"Kaia I'm so-"
"I hate you!" He froze. "I hate you, Natsu Dragneel!" She shouted. He stumbled back a step, shocked and immensely hurt by her declaration.
"Kaia." He whispered. "I'm sorry. I didn't know it was this-"
"How could you not know!? You said you felt it! You felt something wrong and you didn't do anything! I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!" She flung the words at him, stepping forward each time while he stumbled back a step. She reached out and shoved him back even more. She kept repeating it over and over.
"Stop it!" He snapped suddenly, grabbing her hands. She jerked her arms back trying to pull away but he pulled her forward until she fell against his chest. His arms wrapped around her constrictively and he held her close even though her skin was so cold it was nearly burning him.
"Let me go! I hate you!" She screamed, trying to push him away. He just held her tighter. He felt her shudder and gasp.
"Ow! Ow Natsu let go!" Her tone of voice had changed and he released her, knowing Seiko had managed to come back in charge. She collapsed on the ground gasping and coughing for air as she held her side. "Shit, they broke at least three ribs. Dammit, I need water." She panted.
"How did they break your ribs?" He asked.
"First our magic ate away at everything, making even our bones weaker. Then they started beating us up." She muttered and took a deep breath. It resulted in a coughing fit, and she coughed until blood splattered out onto the ice.
"Seiko!" He exclaimed in worry.
"I'm fine. It's pretty bad, but not nearly as bad as it could be. I just need water. I won't make it to town. I can sense a river nearby." She muttered.
"You can sense it?"
"Yes. I can sense any bigger sized amount of water. Now can the questions wait a bit?" She asked. He nodded and leaned down to help her to her feet, but stopped when he heard something.
"Kaia! Natsu!" Natsu whipped around and found Lucy and the others running down the hill towards them.
"Guys, what are you doing here?" He asked.
"We Felt the surge of Magic Power." Gray said as they came to a stop. "Kaia are you okay?" He asked.
"F-fine… Just need water." She mumbled.
"We've got some!" Rose called as she and the other three exceeds flew towards them. Wendy was running down the hill after them.
"I'm gonna need more than that." Seiko mumbled when the cats set the three big bottles they had been carrying down in front of her. She grabbed a bottle and began chugging it. It was empty within seconds and the other two bottles met similar fates.
"We can go get more-"
"No it's okay… At least I won't be coughing up blood now. I think I can make it to the river over there."
"I could heal you some more." Wendy offered. Seiko shook her head.
"It would be a waste of your energy." She muttered and struggled to her feet. "Just let me get….." Her eyes rolled back into her head and she collapsed.
"Kaia!" Everyone else called out while Natsu exclaimed, "Seiko!"
"Seiko?"
"I'll explain it later!" He snapped. "We need to get her to a hospital!" He said.
"But she said a river?"
"She can't heal herself when she's this weak! Just trust me, I have a gut feeling about this!" He picked her up.
"Let me fly her. It'll be faster." Rose said. He nodded and Rose wrapped her tail around the bluenette's middle before latching her claws into the back of her clothes. Then she lifted her into the air.
"We'll meet you there!" Natsu promised. Rose took off at top speed and she was out of sight within seconds. Natsu began running after her and everyone followed suit.
Alrighty. Chapter is up. Be happy kay!? Don't kill me! And about the immediately previous scene, I just wanted to do a hospital scene cause those are fun and dramatic :P
