Merry Christmas to you all. And a good start to 2014. :D
I decided to do some one shots of their life. The first one's Magenta's first Christmas.
I don't own the Characters apart from Magenta. I just borrowed them from Cassandra Clare to let them experience some good times until City of heavenly Fire is released and they'll get tortured again. (No offense to Cassie, her books are great:D)
Chapter 25: What is Christmas?
I opened the door of our living room just a small bit and peeked in. My dads hat locked the door for the whole morning and I was told to go and play with my toys. But they just made me more curious. What did they hide from me?
From where I stood you could see nothing different. I opened the door a little more. Oh shit. Dad had seen me. I fought down a giggle and sped into my room. I threw myself on the bed and hid my face in the pillow.
I heard Dad in the door and is strong arms picked my up and tickled me. Then he hugged me and Daddy joined us and embraced both of us. He gave me a kiss on my forehead and then they kissed. I kicked them both in the stomach. First of all their kisses disgusted me and secondly I wanted all of their attention. I mean I'm the main person in this house.
"What's hidden in the living room?" I asked and batted my eyelashes. They had never been able to resist my eyes. Magnus opened his mouth to give in but Alec shushed him. He was stronger but he had a hard battle resisting me.
"Maggie we told you to stay away. We wanted to surprise you." Alec grumbled. I kissed his cheek and he smiled again. He couldn't stay mad either.
"Please let me show her what I've done." Magnus begged. Alec rolled his eyes. "We've done it together." He reminded Magnus. Yes, he gave in. In my head I celebrated Daddy for being on my side and convincing Alec.
Me still on Dad's arm we went to the living room. The whole room was shining. There were purple and silver stars hanging from the ceiling and a strange fat man was standing in the corner in a red bathrobe. And there was a huge tree in the middle of the room. In the tree were also silver and purple balls. And on the top there was a huge star. And of course, who wouldn't guess it, glitter. I mean we had glitter everywhere.
"What's this all about?" I was really curious. I didn't understand where all this trouble came from. I guess it was different from before but Dad changed our apartment every week. This time it looked like he had gone crazy but I was accustomed to it by now.
"Darling it's Christmas!" Magnus squealed.
"What the hell is Christmas?" I asked.
"Language Maggie." Alec reminded me though he was the one who had used all the words he didn't want to hear from me. "Christmas is a tradition that comes from the Christians. The religion tells that their founder Jesus was born on the 24th December. Our year 0 is the year of his birth. The month of December is also the month of the winter solstice, the time when the days get longer and the good powers are at their strongest. We're not Christians but the tradition is celebrated by almost everyone today. It's all about love and giving gifts to your beloved ones."
This was new to me. My mother had never told me about any history or religion. Now that I thought about t she'd barely spoken to me. My mother never loved me but I was glad she gave me to this crazy family.
"What date do we have today?" I asked.
"It's the 20th today."
"Why haven't you told me earlier? I have to make you presents." What should I get them? Omg I just have four days left. I jumped around in the room and nearly stepped on Chairman Meow. This gave me a great idea. I would paint Magnus a picture of Chairman running away from the glitter in Magnus hands. A Magnus who wants to dress up the Chairman.
But what about Alec? I grabbed Magnus hand and pulled him out of the room. "You stay here." I told Alec and he held his hands up in surrender and sat on the couch. I closed the door behind us.
"What can I get him?" I asked desperately. Magnus chuckled at my appearance. "You don't need to get anything."
"But I WANT to get both of you something." I insisted. I stomped my foot on the floor to emphasize my words.
"Well, you could get him something to help against demons." He suggested.
A plan built in my head. I closed my eyes so I could imagine it better. There were lots of strange words and things in my head.
"Get a paper." I told Magnus and he looked at me curious. But he did what I told him. I dictated him the words and described the things. He wrote down everything and when I was finished he looked at the results. His mouth hung open and he looked stunned.
"Magenta darling. Do you know what you did here?" He carefully asked.
"No" I relied truthfully. "These things came into my head. I don't know what they mean."
"This is a spell. Well a potion combined with a spell. But it's nothing I've ever heard of. Do you know how it works?" He seemed agitated.
"I don't know. Why don't we just try it."
"Yeah we test it. You might have a huge gift."
Short chapter between Christmas and the New Year. Enjoy your holidays.
Guten Rutsch!
