DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN GRAVITY FALLS
"I'm sorry I don't have much to offer you," Tyrone apologized looking through the motel's mini-fridge for anything to serve his guest. All he had left was a half eaten burger and an open soda can. He had thought about bringing back some of the fish he caught to show off to his mom, but since there was no way to cook them in the motel room, he decided not to. Which he's kind of regretting now.
"Oh no, nothing for me thank you," Gideon shaking his head. "Man and I thought my old prison cell was small and cramped," Gideon joked as he surveyed the motel room. "Can't wait to see how you fair in prison Dipper," Gideon whispered to himself.
While Tyrone couldn't make out most of what Gideon whispered, he did hear Dipper's name in there peaking Tyrone's curiosity. "Mr. Gideon," Tyrone started to say.
"Lil' Gideon," Gideon corrected him. "Or just simply Gideon."
"Gideon, what exactly happened between you and my father?" Tyrone asked. Gideon eye started twitching. Not only did the subject about his history with the Pines family drove him insane, he was about to talk about it to a boy that resembles his most hated enemy. Gideon had to remind himself every 5 minutes that the boy is not Dipper. "Is there something wrong?" Tyrone asked since Gideon hasn't responded to him yet, afraid that he might have offended him in some way.
"What? No there's nothing wrong," Gideon chuckled playfully. "Anyway, do you really want to know what happened between me and the Pines family?" Gideon asked with a super serious face. Tyrone nodded nervously. "Well it all started back when I was your age. Your Aunt Mabel and I had a thing." Gideon blushed as he showed some pictures of when he and Mabel 'dated' that he had inside in wallet.
"Wow you two looked happy together," Tyrone commented. Which is true since most of the pictures were of them bedazzling their faces, riding on a horse, having romantic boat rides, and them having their first date at the Club.
"Yes, but unfortunately those happy times didn't last forever." Gideon said sadly as he put the pictures away.
"What happened?" Tyrone asked curiously.
"You father and uncle happen! Dipper and Stanford Pines!" Gideon sneered accidentally letting his ugly side slip out. (Even after finding out Stan's true identity, Gideon still calls him Stanford mainly out of habit.) Gideon to a moment to gather himself before continuing. "You see I used to run a little tourist trap of my own called the 'Tent of Telepathy' where I performed a simple magic act along with a song and dance routine. It was a modest job, just a little something did to earn some extra spending money. Unfortunately Stanford and you father saw me as competition and business rivals. The first thing your father did was to expose...I mean accuse me of being a fraud. I mean sure I wasn't really psychic, but then again who is, but that doesn't mean he can just reveal my tricks to ruin my reputation!" Gideon huffed, then taking a few deep breaths to regain his cool. "If that wasn't bad enough they also forbade me from ever seeing my beloved Mabel again. They even got a restraining order to keep us apart." Gideon pretending to wipe a tear from his eye to hide the fact that he's been snickering the whole time.
"Sounds like something my father would do," Tyrone said dryly believing that this was the method his father used to keep his mother away from him.
"Yes, well I wasn't about to lose my one true love so when I tried to meet up with Mabel; they accused me of stalking her and had me thrown into jail. After that things went down hill; I lost my Tent of Telepathy, and because of my record I couldn't get an honest job, but the worst part is while I was in jail Dipper and Stanford somehow got Mabel to turn against me. They actually poisoned my peach dumplings precious little mind to make it look like I was the bad guy!" Gideon snarled causing his hair go all feral.
"You poor thing," Tyrone said sympathetically. He could relate since Dipper was not only trying to keep him away from his mother, but also trying to convince him that his mother was bad person.
"Yes well that's all water under the bridge," Gideon said calmly as he fixed his hair. "Right now all I want to do is help you and your mother."
"If there's anything I can do to help," Tyrone offered.
"Actually there is a little something," Gideon grinned as he walked over to get behind Tyrone. Gideon then placed his hand on Tyrone's head chanting, "Yas I sa od lliw ouy. Won lortnoc ym rednu era ouy." Tyrone's eyes started to glow as the spell took hold, and then... "AAAHhh!" Gideon shrieked in pain from some kind of backlash that struck his hand. "Dang it, I should have known Dipper would have put on a protective spells on the boy!" Gideon cursed. He couldn't believe that he just made a rookie mistake.
"Are you alright Gideon?" Tyrone asked not really sure what just happened.
"I'm fine. Just a little static electricity that's all." Gideon reassured him while rubbing his hand to ease the pain. Tyrone breathed a sigh of relief believing that's all it was. As the pain in his hand subsided, Gideon decided to see what he was up against. Casting a scanning spell he could 'see' the spell around Tyrone's head shielding him from any mind control or mind reading spells. Surprisingly Gideon found that the spell wasn't as strong as he thought it would be. "Rather clumsy and amateurish. Oh Dipper you haven't been keeping up your lessons have you. This should be easier than I thought." Gideon giggled as he prepared to remove the spell; but before he could do anything, Tracy came bursting into the room.
"Gideon, what are you doing here?" Tracy demanded. The stench of alcohol was so strong that they could smell it all the way across the room.
"I was just coming over to discuss our over all strategy Ms. Davis," Gideon said trying to sound formal.
"I'm sure whatever it is you came to discuss can wait until morning," Tracy groaned rubbing her head, suffering from a huge hangover.
"Well I'd like to get this done as soon as possible but I see you need your rest," Gideon said as he got up. "Oh and Tyrone, if you want to get together and talk some more about your father, please call me." Gideon winked as handed Tyrone a piece of paper with his phone number on it. Frustrated that he didn't accomplish what he set out to do, Gideon stormed into the 24 hour Convenience store across the street and bought himself a bunch of comfort foods. The then walked right passed the bushes where Mabel was hiding, not realizing that his beloved peach dumpling was passed out from binging on snacks.
After Gideon left Tyrone turned to his mother. "So mom, I went fishing with"
"Please Tyrone, mommy is very tired. I'll listen to whatever it is you want later." Tracy said falling into bed.
"Oh okay, I'll tell you about it later." Tyrone said sadly looking at the picture of him, Stan, Ford, and Ramirez each holding up the first fish they caught that day.
The next day, Tyrone woke up around 5:50. Months of being a butler made it so now he wakes up early even if he doesn't want to. Seeing his mom still sleeping soundly, he quietly tiptoed to the bathroom and took a quick shower. Afterwards he headed towards the Convenience store and bought couple egg and bacon muffins, orange juice, and a cup of coffee. He then walked over to the bush where he spotted his Aunt Mabel hiding. "I brought you some breakfast Aunt Mabel," Tyrone announced.
"Um, I'm not Mabel, I'm just bush." Mabel said using a fake deep voice.
"Bushes don't talk," Tyrone playing along with this gag. "Unless of course you're one of the weird creatures that live here. Maybe I should get Amelia so that we can catalog you."
"Uh, the bush is not talking, it just the wind. Whoosh." Mabel making fake wind sounds.
"Since you're the wind, I'm assuming you don't want this?" Tyrone waving the egg muffin in front of the bush.
"NO I WANT IT!" Mabel admitted crawling out of the bush. "How did you know I was here?" Mabel asked as Tyrone handed her one of his egg muffins.
"Um, the cashier asked me to check on you." Tyrone lied. He knows how proud Mabel is about her hide and seek skills so he didn't want to tell her that he knew that this was her hiding spot since she started spying on him.
"Oh okay," Mabel buying it since to store worker has asked her to leave on multiple occasions. As Mabel ate her breakfast she could tell that something was bothering her nephew. "Is something wrong?" Mabel asked.
"It's nothing," Tyrone sighed as he munched on his sandwich. Mabel knew Tyrone's habits by heart, so she knew he'd break down if she just waited long enough, and right on cue. "It's just that mom seems so different now. Before she always had time to listen to me and now it just seems that she's so busy running around somewhere that she won't tell me." Tyrone cried. Tyrone smiled as he remembered how everyday after school he could always find his mom in their apartment. Unlike his father who was never around. How Tracy would always say how proud she was of him whenever he showed her his report cards, even when he had a few failing grades. Never scolding him the way his father did, at least when they were lucky enough to both be in the apartment at the same time. Or like the time when Tyrone came home crying after being bullied and she had some ice cream all ready for him. 'Mother's instinct' she told him when he asked how she knew he was sad. Little did he know that she was fixing that ice cream for herself while getting ready to watch TV. She only gave it to him to keep him from crying thus ruining her shows.
"Nephew, maybe this is a sign that sometimes things are not what they seem." Mabel trying to comfort him. Tyrone glared at her almost daring her bad mouth his mother. Realizing this Mabel decided that subtly might be better course of action. "Look I know you are going through a rough time right now, and believe me I know how it feels when it seems like you're whole world has turned against you. Heck I can't tell you how many times Dipper has let me down in the past. Not only him, but Grunkle Stan and Great Uncle Ford as well."
"Really?" Tyrone gasped in disbelief. This is the first time he's ever heard Mabel say something like that about Dipper and their uncles. Usually she goes on about how Dipper always had her back when they were the Mystery Twins, and how she could always count on him through thick and thin.
"Oh yes," Mabel nodded. "You see back then when me and Dipper first came to Gravity Falls, things were pretty tough for us, but the one thing we learned is that family is the most important thing in the universe and you never give up on family. Even after finding out that they are actually a drifting con man that stole their brother's identity and have been lying to you all summer in an attempt to save said brother from a portal."
"Wha?" Tyrone shaking head since not getting at all what she's saying.
"Oh right we never told you that story." Mabel recounted that day when Federal agents came to the Mystery 'S'hack and told them that Stan has been lying to them. Never the less they still trusted him even after finding evidence that not only did he lie to them, but he might not even be the real Stan. Naturally she tweak the story a bit by making it seem that it was Dipper who maintained faith in Stan rather than her. "The moral of the story is that when things are at their lowest you can always count on family. Especially my brother Dipper, who is also your father." Mabel preached.
Tyrone let that thought sink in for a minute. "Your right Auntie, family is important and no matter how bad they may seem, you must always love and support them no matter what." Tyrone's eyes widen with clarity. Mabel's eyes perked up as well hoping that she finally got through to her little nephew and that he'll reconcile with Dipper. "That is why I need to trust my mom!" Hearing that Mabel's jaw dropped with shock. "I must believe that she has my best interest at heart even though she has a funny way of showing it! Thank you auntie. I'll never doubt my mom ever again." Tyrone said excitedly, giving Mabel a hug.
"Say wha...? No Tyrone that's not what I..." Mabel couldn't finish her sentence as Tyrone ran off as fast as he could back to the motel room. Mabel facepalmed herself fearing that Tyrone may have misinterpreted her lesson.
