Alright, this isn't a new chapter, everyone, but I'm just letting all of you wonderful readers know that Just Another Hero won the vote for the next story by two votes! Thank you to ChocolateWriter, Liz, Someone not important and ruiyingz123 for voting. Here's a synopsis for the chosen story:
When the hero landed on Ogygia, Calypso though he was just like every other. A cruel joke from the fates, constantly reminding her of one bad decision. She carefully removed the helmet from his armor to see how well he was breathing, and took him to her cave. Yes, he seemed just like every other hero she'd been forced to love. That was, until the hero woke up. And she spoke. Warning: One sided Girl x Girl.
Alright, and since I'm technically not allowed to give you guys a chapter that's just an author's note, and I honestly hate those, I'm also giving you a little bit of Just Another Hero as a sneak peek. Keep an eye out for this in a little while, but I'm going to wait until I have the majority written before I upload the actual story.
Honestly, it's never easy for a demigod, but I really have had it bad. I guess it's kind of my fault, I mean, I was the one that got myself kicked out of the legion, but come on, he needed help! What was I supposed to do, let him die? Then, I had the option of a quiet life in the countryside, but no, I had to be a good soldier and find another way to help people. So, I signed up for the guards of the French king. Why French? They were hiring. Then His Majesty Charlemagne came into power, and I got moved to the elites. Being an elite guard of Charlemagne, surprisingly, is better than it sounds. I've always been learning something new, and I'm sure my mother at least wouldn't be embarrassed by me, but right now, I'm learning that your life really does flash before your eyes when you're about to die.
I really wish right now I had some of that strength I always lend others. It would be helpful when dealing with the arrow protruding from a chink in my armor.
I can feel my knees buckling beneath me and I topple to the ground. I want to get up, but it's like I'm watching from outside my body, I can't do anything about it.
"Sir Victor!" I hear someone cry, though it sounds like they're at the end of a long, echoey cave, and footsteps can be heard nearing me on the stone walkway, but I know they won't get here in time; it's all fading too fast.
And then it's gone.
