"Wow you're the people we're sharing the lodge with? That's like such a killer of a coincidence!" Sonoko said after finding out that the group of five teachers her and her friends were with due to share a lodge with were the four teachers they ran into plus one of their friends who was a no show so far.

"Don't say killer please." Nancy requested giving Sonoko a blank look.

"Huh why?" Sonoko asked blinking at Nancy who had a snickering Irene on her lap… Nancy gave a deadpan look as she pointed down right at Irene.

"Sonoko how many times do you complain about Irene's luck?" Ran asked looking at her friend amused and causing the rich teen to blink and think for a minute.

"Um…" Sonoko gave a sheepish grin as she shrugged while the teachers watched confused, still not recognizing why the little girl looked so familiar.

"By saying the word 'killer' near her…do I need to call it in now or wait until something actually happens?" Sato asked raising an amused eyebrow as she held Yumi close.

"You could call it in now as a precaution and none of the other officers would blame you in the slightest Sa-chan. Heck Inspector McGuire might even praise you for being preemptive about it." Yumi said smiling teasingly as she gave Irene a mischievous look while the rest of those that knew Irene snickered or giggled as she stuck her tongue out in return.

"You guys are talking about crimes and killing around a six year old as if it's perfectly normal!" Preston said staring at them in disbelief and causing the whole group to stop laughing and blink at her.

"You still haven't recognized her?" Karen asked amused causing the teachers to blink as they looked at Irene closely before a squeal interrupted their thoughts.

"Irene-Sama!" A girl squealed causing everyone to tense as a young woman came running over, dragging her apparent boyfriend with her.

"You're her aren't you!? The famous child detective and movie star, Shinigami Detective Irene Edogawa-Moore-Kudo-Star-Sama!" The girl said stopping just short of Nancy's chair with Sato half out of her seat ready to intervene in a second. Jessica had been more than happy to let Irene take on her last name, and apparently the rest of the 'gang' were debating whether or not to give Irene their last names too since she had so many already.

"Do I know you?" Irene asked tilting her head at the girl over Nancy's shoulder while Jessica and Seiko were both standing just in case the girl made a wrong move.

"Well no we've never met in person but I was around a few weeks ago when you solved the case involving the Night Baron Murder on that mystery tour! I saw you in action myself and I've seen all of your movies and read about all of your cases! If… If it's not too much trouble… can-can I bother you for an autograph?" The girl asked embarrassedly, causing Irene to smile slightly up at her.
"Not a problem. I'm always happy to sign something for my fans. Who do I make it out to and is there anything specific you want me to sign?" Irene asked pulling a pen out of her pocket and looking up at the woman curiously while the teachers jaws dropped.

"U-Um th-this if you don't mind. My name is Fuko." The girl, Fuko, said holding out a DVD case of Irene's eighth and newest movie for now, The Night Baron case.

"No problem. I liked the way that movie turned out too, but we left out the bit where kaa-chan nearly killed the killer after they were revealed." Irene said smiling as she took the case and signed it with the pen.

"Why did she try to kill them?" The PE Teacher, Bret, asked confused as he glanced warily at Ran.

"Cause the killer tried to scare us off by pushing me from the balcony of our room, thankfully I landed in the pool like they planned too instead of being swept to either side by the wind." Irene said smiling as she wrote on the movie case in her flowing eloquent script.

"She better be glad that the rest of us were busy and couldn't go… well Seiko could have but she was busy at the time." Jessica said frowning as she glared at the table. She still hated the fact that she wasn't there more than a few times when her 'daughter' was threatened.

"If you overprotective goofballs were there when the killer did that you would have killed them." Irene said giving her 'gang' blank looks as she handed the case back to Fuko who squealed and hugged it close.

"Thank you!" Fuko said bowing repeatedly to Irene while her boyfriend was gaping at the small girl in disbelief.

"No problem." Irene said waving the thanks off easily with a smile on her lips.

"Didn't expect your daughter to be a famous detective and movie star Ran-chan. Then again you never seemed like the kind of girl to become a teenaged mother either." Preston said staring at Irene and her group as Irene waved goodbye to the woman.

"I'm adopted if it's any reassurance." Irene said shrugging her shoulders as she turned in Nancy's lap and sat back down, picking up her juice again.

"You might not be mine by birth but you're still my daughter Irene-chan." Ran scolded slightly as she looked at her daughter who smiled at her.

"Hai Hai." Irene said smiling up at her mother before refocusing on her drink.

"I heard that there was a child detective but I never expected her to be so famous or young." Ms. Tilton said staring at Irene shocked.

"I think most of my fame comes from the movie series about my cases, Case Closed, besides… age is only a number in the mind." Irene said shrugging her shoulders and causing Seiko to snort slightly.

"That and you love the shock value that happens when someone expects you to be older or something." Seiko added causing the other adults to nod in agreement while snickering, Irene merely grinned.

"Their reactions are funny! The looks on their faces!" Irene said causing the women to grin wider and giggle or snicker in agreement.

"Anyways…you guys wanna go ahead and head for the lodge? Larry was supposed to be here an hour ago so maybe he's there?" Paul asked looking at his co-workers who nodded slightly as they stopped staring at Irene.

"You guys wanna come with? We're all heading to the same lodge so might as well share a ride right?" Paul asked looking at the other women who looked at each other.

"Sure. We'd love to." Sonoko answered for everyone else, causing Paul to smile while Ms. Preston gave him a stern look.

"As long as you realize that the teenage girls, and young Irene-chan, are off limits Mister Keen." Ms. Preston said sternly causing him to grin guiltily.

"Of course. That goes without saying but if one of the older ladies wanna hook up with me I am single." Paul said winking at the older women of the group.

"Sorry. I'm taken." Jessica said wrapping an arm around Rachel's waist pointedly.

"Wrong gender for us, and we're taken anyways." Seiko said motioning to herself, Yumi, Karen, and Sato as she held Karen's had while Sato pointedly pressed a kiss to Yumi's forehead.

"And what about you, lovely ravens?" Paul asked looking at Fonke and Nancy who gave him flat looks.

"Spoken for." Fonke said flashing him the engagement ring that Jason had given her all those years ago before his death. She had never taken it off, not once, and she swore she never would. Not of her own free will.

"Not the right gender to interest me… although if Ms. Tilton or Ms. Preston are single then I am open to the idea of dating either of them." Nancy said smirking at the two female teachers, causing them both to blush but Ms. Tilton smiled ever so slightly back at the librarian.

"Am I the only straight female in our group?!" Fonke asked looking at her friends in disbelief.

"Well Camilla and Jasmine are straight, or they were last time I checked. With Camilla's luck with men I wouldn't be surprised if she started batting for the home team too…" Yumi trailed off thoughtfully for a second.

"That was a rhetorical question Yumi!" Fonke said giving the traffic cop an amused and exasperated look while she blushed sheepishly.

"I'm not sorry?" Yumi asked more than said causing Irene to snort into her juice at the same time Nancy snorted.

"You've been around us too much Yumi-nee. You're starting to take things literally and become slightly cynical." Irene said snickering as she looked up at Yumi who blushed and gave a small shrug.

"I'm a cop. Traffic might not get the brunt of it like the first division does but I've still seen my fair share of things that would make me cynical and insane." Yumi said shrugging again as she leaned further into Sato's suddenly protective arms.

"Which is most likely my fault. Sorry Yumi-nee." Irene said sighing as she looked down.

"It's not your fault Irene-chan-"

"How many murders have you all seen after I came around? More than twice as many as you've seen before then isn't it?" Irene asked causing the older women to wince slightly and look away. They couldn't argue that fact.

"I'm a murder magnet. No matter where I go, there is always a murder close behind me if not already waiting there." Irene said sounding old suddenly. She sounded so old and tired at that point that everyone could only stare at her as she gave a sad sardonic smile.

"Maybe I should be locked away for everyone else's safety? If I stay locked up in a small room then my murder attracting ability can't act up which means no one will be murdered." Irene said with a sarcastic chuckle. Her next words had everyone speechless and quiet as they got into the rented cars and began driving to the lodge without saying a word.

"I probably do more harm than good when allowed to roam around. Maybe I should just stay away from everyone after all."
