I stumble through the town, ignoring the templar, and his complaints. I hear Alistair apologising behind me, and I turn towards the merchant.
After two minutes of convincing the merchant to lower his prices, I purchase some supplies for our happy band of lunatics. Alistair peers over my shoulder as I buy the food.
"Ooo! Get the cheese!" Alistair cries from behind me, pointing to a wheel of yellow.
"Really?" I ask and he nods fervently. Sighing, I add the cheese to the small pile of stuff. The merchant looks down, counting on his fingers, then stares back to me.
"That'll be a sovereign and eleven silver." I fish around in my bag and pull out the money, passing it to him. He pockets the coin then completely ignores me as I shove all the supplies into my bag.
I shuffle towards the elven family, tell them the bandits are gone and watch as they hurry towards the highway. Daisy stands next to me, panting, and he licks my hand. Again.
"Aren't we feeling sympathetic today?" Morrigan says from next to me and I rub Daisy's head.
"We've still got lots of stuff to do, and only a couple hours to do it." I mumble, rubbing one eye with my clean hand.
"Is this so? Did we not buy our supplies? Should we not depart now so as to finish this mad quest all the sooner?"
"I hate to agree with her, but..." Alistair trails off. I wave them off and move towards the tavern.
"We'll leave in an hour or so. Don't get your knickers in a knot." I say with a yawn. A child pulls on my skirt, grabbing my attention.
"Have you seen my mummy?" The boy asks.
" Your mother? No, I don't believe so." I say, squatting down in front of him.
"She said she was right behind me. When the bad men came. She told me to run, so I ran! But I haven't seen her."
"If... You don't see her, go to the Chantry. They'll take care of you."
"Are you an elf?" He asks abruptly.
"What? No, I'm a... Oh. Ah, yes. Couldn't trick you." I say, wobbling the end of the sentence while waggling a finger at him.
'How could you forget that you're an elf?' Ritta fumes in the back of my mind.
'How could you forget to shutup!' I snap back.
"My pa always said that elves were mean. But you're nicer than anyone I've met here!" He says, patting my shoulder. I blink at this response, and smile awkwardly at him.
"Ah. Yes. Just. Go to the Chantry. And," I awkwardly fish around in my back before pulling out a handful of silver coins. "Take this " I say, dropping the money in his hands. His eyes widen at the coins, and he stares up at me. He puts the money in his pocket and wraps his arms around me. I tense, surprised, before tentatively petting his back.
"I'll go to the Chantry, like you said. Mommy will find me there. Thank you, kind lady." He says pulling away and running off towards the Chantry. I stand, teetering slightly.
"I, um. Did he just? I... We should... Go." I sat, flustered by the child's actions. I quickly walk over the bridge, looking down at the ground.
I finally make it to the tavern and I shove the doors open.
"Hey! Weren't we looking for an elf of this very description?" Someone greets me as I walk in.
"Looks like we were lied to..." A larger man says.
"He-hey fellas, there's no need to get all dramatic." I say, holding my hands up.
"Oh? You're a grey warden! I was there with Loghain, when your people betrayed the king!"
"Please, we can deal with this without violence, no?" a sister says from next to me, making me jump in surprise. Leliana stands, a dagger not so hidden on her back.
"This is none of your concern, sister." The larger man snaps. He nudges his friend and they both pull out their weapons.
"Kill the sister, and anyone else who gets in your way!" He says, and I pull out my weapons, glaring at him as I do so.

This is a bit short isn't it...
