Chapter 25 ~ Dilemma
(At Bonnie's House)
Damon is pacing the floor "I can't believe this! We have to tell Elena!' Damon almost shouted.
'I know but she has been through so much, I wish there was a way we could just keep her in the dark." Stefan replied with anguish in his voice.
Damon was getting angrier by the second "She is stronger than you think Stefan! We are not going to hide this from her! She deserves to know."
Bonnie and Caroline knew the brothers were at an Impasse so they both spoke up.
"I agree with Damon." Caroline stated.
"I also agree with Damon." Bonnie added and she continued "We have to tell her especially if we go with Katherine's plan of Time Traveling her, sending her somewhere and her not knowing anything or why, that would be even more Traumatic."
Stefan frowned as realization dawned on him that Bonnie was right. That would both be Traumatic and Torment on Elena. "Okay, so when do we tell her? Now? Or after confirming things with Elijah? Stefan asked while gulping, trying to push down the pain rising up from his chest as he said the words.
"Now!" they all three said simultaneously.
The air got still and thicker as Stefan pulled his phone out of his back pocket to call Elena the tension in the room was building and as he placed the phone slowly to his ear Damon, Bonnie, and Caroline bowed their heads and stared at the floor. There was pure Dread and misery etched on their faces.
(ring ring)
"Hello." Elena answered sounding miserable.
"Elena it's Stefan, are you okay?" he ask hearing she didn't sound well
"Uh...yes Stefan...I am just tired and you caught me while dozing." Elena said softly
"I hate to ask you to come out but we are all at Bonnie's and we need to talk." he spoke slowly and with a sad tinge to his voice.
"What is it? Is everyone okay?" Elena sounded frantic
"Yes, everyone is fine. He reassured her "We just have a new situation so I'm coming to get you and bring you here to Bonnie's. We all need to talk. OK..." before Stefan could finish Elena cut him off "No! I mean I'm fine to drive. I will see you in a few." and she hung up the phone. Stefan looked puzzled and since Caroline and Damon already heard Bonnie ask "What?" "She is driving herself here and she practically hung up on me." he replied.
Caroline chuckled which got a quick glare from the room "What? I'm sorry it was funny, it seems with a new Crisis looming it seems sweet Elena is not going to be so sweet anymore." she said amused
"That; s funny how?" Bonnie ask beating Stefan and Damon to the question.
"It's just nice to see that Elena is not always do-good-er Elena anymore." she added and Stefan's brows furrowed (well harder than usual) as Bonnie and Damon just looked away to hide the guilt of knowing about recent Crazy-Blood Sharing-Addict-Elena which they knew exactly that's what Caroline was referring to no matter how much she tried to recover her mistake in front of In-The-Dark Stefan.
(Elena)
I quickly hung up on Stefan, I was so nervous. Does he know about the feeding? Has Bonnie told on me? Caroline? Are they at Bonnie's planning an Intervention on me the Blood sharing addict? My head started spinning and Fear coming in waves from my gut. Elena get a hold of yourself, there is no way they would trade you out...My thoughts then went to Damon...Oh God! Did he confess to Stefan and he is there with Stefan and Bonnie? My brain was firing every scenario possible! Finally, I just threw my jeans on and flew into the bathroom and splashed cold water on my face, brushed my hair quickly and headed out determined to face them, whoever they were? If I'm busted than I'm busted I thought. I tried to calm down and take deep breaths on the drive to Bonnie's and it was working well until I pulled in her yard and to my horror I saw not only Bonnie's car but Caroline and Damon's also! I was now really freaked out knowing they were all there! My insides were shaking and my outsides soon followed but I took a deep breath and just headed in.
(Bonnie's)
The room remained quiet for the next 15 minutes, everyone was so deep in thought, they didn't even hear Elena come in! She startled them when she spoke "You guys look like someone died! What's wrong?" she cried trying her best to hide her nervousness and fain innocent. Stefan walked over to her quickly and with a small smile he reached and touched her arm rubbing gentle circles with his finger and reassured her nobody died and then he explained the whole situation.
To everyone's surprise Elena seemed okay and a little too okay, almost as if she was a little chipper so Bonnie and Caroline looked at each other with a knowing look and both headed for Elena, grabbing her by the arm and pulling her toward the door. Bonnie turned around and said "Girl Talk." and then she grabbed her coat and shut the door behind them.
(Outside)
Elena started to protest and Caroline quickly shushed her with her finger to her lips and nodded her head towards the car. "Let's go for a drive." Bonnie said.
After they got down the street sure they were far enough away for Vampire hearing, Bonnie stopped the car and they both looked at Elena and Caroline said "Spill!"
"Spill what?" Elena snapped.
Caroline took a deep breath and could not believe she even had to explain her suspicions to Elena. She spoke clear and slow...
"We just told you that possibly an Original Vampire is coming Kill you in a Witchy woo woo Sacrifice and that some of your friends may also be at risk and your Evil Doppelganger Katherine is the one to have a so-called plan to Time Travel you to protect you and your Chipper? No signs at all of shock or distress! So Spill!
Elena took a deep breath and sighed, she also shrugged her shoulders and cleared her throat determined to explain in a simple way, kind of mocking Caroline's style
"I have been through a lot. I have lost my parents, found out I was adopted, my birth Mother is a Vampire, my despised Uncle John is really my Father, my brother is actually my cousin. I have falling in Love with a Vampire, had another Doppelganger Vampire torment me who happens to be my Vampire boyfriends ex, first love, and the one who turned him into a Vampire. Now I have a Blood sharing addiction with my Vampire boyfriends hot Vampire brother who has the same Ex as my boyfriend and shes all the same to said hot Vampire brother. Now I possible have an Original Vampire coming to kill me in a Sacrifice with my tormenting Vampire Doppelganger heading up the plan to save my life! In all this, there is one Ray of Hope a Sliver of t a Silver Lining! I can possible Time Travel and get away from it all for awhile...which just so happens to be exactly what I need."
Caroline and Bonnie still look confused, mouths open, eyes wide, and heads shaking back and forth in disbelief but Elena continues...
"To Top it all off, last but not least...I am...uh...having feelings for Damon and don't know if it is from the Feeding and blood sharing or from my heart? I also have tremendous guilt for what I have done to Stefan behind his back. So Yes! Getting away and Time Traveling the Hell outta here for awhile seems just Great to me! I even know when and where I want to go!" Elena finished with a smirk
"Where?" Bonnie asks still in shock.
Elena turns around in her seat to make sure Bonnie and Caroline can look into her eyes to see she means business and finally speaks.
"Mystic Falls, 1864, Human Stefan and Damon!
Bonnie and Caroline gasp in surprise! They both really thought she would have gone back to pre -parents deaths, the last place she felt the most safe and secure but her answer only seems to reassure them that this is a crazy Elena! They are too shocked to speak! Elena notices and quickly explains...
"I need to know how I really feel about Damon minus the feeding and I can really get to know them as Humans, the man inside the Vampire. I could truly understand them both better, my curiosity has always been there to know what they were like as humans not to mention the way they speak of such simpler times then compared to this hyped up rat race I am in today. I get away to a more simple time with two people that I do trust very much and no danger because they are humans so I am safe and secure with them. I know it must sound crazy and hard to understand but with all the supernatural crazy in my life, I know I would enjoy such a simple time era a chance to really relax and breathe for once. Is it possible Bonnie?" Elena voice is filled with excitement.
Bonnie follows her question with questions "What about Katherine being in 1864? Will you be her or you? Will Interacting with the past change the future? Do we send you back alone? That is just a few Elena! I'm sorry but Katherine is the one with the Grimiore that has the Time Travel spells so we have to wait and ask her. I know time travel is possible from what Grams told me but it ends there. Grams never went into detail and I'm sure there are risks involved. So let's just not jump ahead of ourselves here okay Elena?"
"Let's head back your house and see if Stefan's heard from them." Elena says
Bonnie and Caroline are still in shock at Elena's still chipper and even almost giddy mood and they are concerned she's in really bad shock or not grasping the reality of the situation. They drive the short drive back to Bonnie's in eery silence. They walk in and Stefan and Damon look worried and they can tell they have some news.
A/N I realize it has been 5 months since my last update and I'm so sorry about that, like I said previously we were adding a large room addition to our home and then Spring and Summer got real busy but Summer is winding down and I plan to update much more frequent now, especially in the fall It could always be worse. I myself am reading two wonderful stories and have been waiting for updates for a year:(Well this story is getting ready to change some as you can see. Please remember this is my first one ever so again I apologize for mistakes and I hope you have had a wonderful summer:)
