Reason for delay= School started and I am in over my eyes in homework...Enjoy the chapter. :)

About an two hours later a knock came to the door. Mr. Stockley put the book down, Felix woke with some drool coming down from the corner of his lips. Jake stood up from his spot and prepared himself for the news.

It was Dr. Davis who walked into the room with a fresh pair of scrubs on his body. He looked at all of them in the eyes. He took note of Jake's bloodshot eyes and smiled.

"She's alive" He said.

Jake mouth broke into a massive smile and his eyes let out tears of happiness. He wrapped his arms around the doctor and just cried.

"Thank you so much…" He was able to utter out while he cried.

"You're welcome" Davis said.

"How is she?" Mr. Stockley asked as he stood up from his spot.

"She is still unconscious at the moment because we had to inject her with a number of medications to get everything under control. We will be re-checking her levels of the toxin every hour to see fast it's leaving her body. We want her to stay here for the next two days to make sure everything goes well and if everything does. We will send her back with a scar that will heal in the next few weeks." Davis said.

"Thank you for saving Hayley" Felix said as he gave him a hug. Stockley shook his hand professionally and smiled and thanked him.

"Can I go see her?" Jake asked.

"Sure you can, She should be waking up within the next 15 minutes or so" Davis said as he walked towards the door of where Hayley was.

"We'll wait out here" Felix said as they took a seat in some chairs outside the room.

Jake nodded and entered the room. There was a faint beeping sound coming from one of the monitors. It comforted him to hear that beep, beep, beep. It meant Hayley was alive. He walked over to the side of the bed and looked at his girlfriend. Her hair was now just flowing from the sides of her face. Her left hand wrapped in a bandage with an IV running from it and into a bag that hung from a pole. Her face was not as cold and lifeless looking as it was when he was pushed out of the room.

Jake smiled to himself and sat down in a chair beside her and took her right hand in his. It has a hospital tag wrapped around it. Stating

Hayley Rose Steele

Current Troop Member:

LAKEWOOD

Jake just sat there re-reading the band again and again. It just comforted him to hear the beeping and be reading Hayley's name.

"Jake…?" A voice brought him back from wherever his mind went for the past 15 minutes.

A thump formed in his thoat, a tear fell from his eye, and he was almost left speechless when he turned to meet those hazel eyes that he loved.

"Hayley…?" He was able to get out. She smiled at his voice saying her name. He immediately wrapped his arms around her and since he had just a few tears to spare when he came out of the hug to meet her eyes again.

Hayley reached up with her hand and whipped the tears away.

"I missed you" They both said. Hayley blushed, Jake smiled.

He leaned in and gave her a kiss. She reached with her right hand and wrapped it around his neck and pulled him in deeper. He sat at the very edge of the bed and wrapped one arm around her while the other hand cupped the side of her face. His thumb grazing her cheek as they enjoyed this moment neither of them thought they would get again.

*Cough*

The two looked at the door where Felix and Mr. Stockley were waiting. The couple moved apart, but still sat hand and hand.

"Glad to see you awake Hayley" Stockley said as he gave her a hug.

Felix followed and gave a big hug with little tears in his eyes, but he still smiled, but was more then thankful to see the blonde hair and blue eyed girl.

"How are you feeling?" He asked as he pulled away.

"Still hurt and tired, but I'm feeling alright"

"You take some rest for the next two days you'll be staying here. Felix and I will look into what we can do about 'you know who', and Jake I think will be more comfortable being here for a little while too" Mr. Stockley announced to the group and noting Jake's anger with Gus. In order not to have the police come after them, they didn't want to take any chances with Jake planning on a revenge kill.

"But…But…" Jake started.

"No buts Jake, Hayley will need you're help for the coming days because until that toxin is out of her body she is in no condition to do anything but stay in the safe confinement of this troop hospital and eventually the troop headquarters afterwards"

Jake just nodded. He liked the idea of being with his girlfriend more, but knowing that there was a guy out there who just attempted a murder on her made his blood boil.

Until a kiss on the cheek by a girl next to him cooled it down.

Mr. Stockley and Felix stayed for a little while longer and eventually headed off back to HQ. Leaving behind Jake who was allowed to stay in the bunk room just a couple doors down (that was designed for any teammates if one was to come in injured).

Jake made the best of it. Picking the bed closest to the door and looked around and became familiar with its environment. White walls, a small flat screen TV at the foot of each bed. A computer and desk on the opposite of the room. It was a comforting place compared to what they've had to sleep in for the past how many days.

Hayley was sleeping and Jake decided to do the same in the room. Leaving the door open just enough so he could see kitty corner into her room and Hayley resting on her side. He took one last look at her with a smile and he faded into sleep. Listening to the sound of 'beep, beep, beep'.
