A few hours later
''She is crying. She is crying.'' Gabby just said as the doctors took Emily away to clean her up and weigh her as she had just delivered the little girl. Matt didn't hear Emily crying or Gabby yelling at him that she was crying but he was crying. He was so proud that they were parents now and he couldn't wait to hold their little girl.
''You did so great…you did so amazing.'' He said then, kissing her on her forehead and she smiled so happy. They were parents now.
Ayer was running through the house, almost running over Lana and Kelly. He just wanted to get back to the hospital because Gabby and Matt were there.
Kelly looked at the dog, they had picked him up as Gabby was almost going into delivery but he obviously wanted to get back to Matt and Gabby. In about half an hour the visiting hour started so they could take Ayer to see them and the baby then.
''Come on buddy, get in the car, we are going to see Matt and Gabby and the new baby.'' Kelly said then, getting in the car with Ayer, Lana waving at them as he drove to Shay to pick her up as well.
They were in a private room now, Gabby resting in the bed as Matt was holding their little girl. She smiled as she looked at him, lit up like a Christmas tree as he was a daddy now and was holding their little girl and he kept looking at the baby in his arms with so much pride. He had not heard the baby cry yet but he hoped that he could hear it someday. He knew that most people didn't like the sound but it would be so special to hear it.
''I have only seen you smile this proud before, on our wedding day, but not any time before.'' Gabby smiled then and he nodded.
''She is so beautiful.'' He said then, smiling at the baby in his arms and she nodded.
''Can I hold her?'' Gabby asked then and he handed Emily to her again. The little girlw as so cute with her little pink cheeks and her light brown hair and she looked just so perfect. It was so great that she was finally here and healthy and Matt enjoyed looking at Gabby holding the baby even more. The family was so perfect now and they hoped that Ayer would react to the baby as well as the trainer had promised then.
There was a knock on the door and as they said it was okay to come in, Kelly and Shay walked in with their dog. Kelly and Shay waited by the door.
Ayer walked into the room, very slowly and walked to Matt and Matt petted him on his head, so happy that his precious dog was here again.
''So Ayer, it is time to meet Emily.'' Matt said then and he took their daughter from Gabby, the baby asleep in his arms and carefully Ayer came a little closer. Gabby was a little nervous, but since Ayer had been trained really well, she knew that it would be all right, but still made her a little nervous.
''She is part of our family now and you will have to help me take care of her.'' Matt said then and Ayer wagged his tail as he was close to the little girl, smelling her and laid down on the ground now. Gabby and Matt shared a smile because they knew that it would be all right between Emily and the dog and now, Severide and Shay carefully walked in as well.
''Look at you, you new parents.'' Kelly said and Shay walked to matt, really slowly and carefully and stepping over Ayer.
''Oh look at her, she is such a cutie.'' Shay sighed then, softly and she sat down on the edge of Gabby's bed, as she was really struggling to stand so long because of her huge baby bump. Emily opened her eyes for a second but fell asleep again then.
Kelly took Emily in his arms then for a second as they had offered they could hold Emily and Kelly smiled proud.
''Why are you smiling so proud, she is not yours.'' Matt said then with a smile.
''Just proud of what a little cutie you have produced.'' Kelly said then. Emily opened her dark blue eyes, looking around then as if she was checking whom was talking about her.
''Don't worry, it is just your uncle Kelly saying with a cutie you are.'' He cooed then and Emily looked at him with a weird expression for a second then before falling asleep again. They sat together there and Ayer enjoyed being with his family so much again.
''Just a few more weeks and then Emily will have a best friend.'' Shay said then as she rubbed over her own baby bump, know she and Allisson would be holding a little pink baby soon as well.
''Okay, we are taking your furry friend again.'' Kelly said and they took Ayer with them and left the new parents alone. Matt sat close to Gabby again as she was holding the little sleeping baby and she kissed him on his head, so happy they were parents now and they would do a great job, she was sure about that.
Emily started to cry and Matt came a little closer, hearing her cry barely, but just a little bit as Gabby got ready to nurse her. They smiled at each other again and shared a kiss. They were both so proud of their little family.
NOTE: Gabby delivered the baby girl and they have a beautiful daughter now, Emily and the parents are on cloud nine with the little girl. Ayer was so anxious as he was away from Matt and Gabby but reacted very well when they introduced him to the baby and was very calm around her. Uncle Kelly and Aunty Leslie also got to see and hold her and the wait is not long any more for Shay and Allisson. Matt and Gabby are just so happy and are so proud of their daughter and their family.
Upcoming: Matt and Gabby take Emily home and Matt tried to get the hang of being a dad together with Ayer helping him while Allison and Shay also get the last preparations ready for their baby.
