Chapter 25: You had one job...

Link

Vaati and I tore through the woods to reach the Manor. We didn't know what had happened. All we knew was that the Mansion was in trouble. And part of me already pinned the blame on Ghirahim and Daiki, as Alicia did cursed their names in Ancient Hylian.

When the Mansion came into view, I stopped dead in my tracks with my jaw open. Vaati looked like he/she just had a heart attack.

The mansion... Was covered in Cuckoos. Like they covered the roof, the walls, and were spilling out from the front doors. Some were flying out the windows, some flew out of the chimney (unscathed), some were stuck in the bushes, and one of them was on top of a kite (how it got there was beyond me, as I don't think that the kite was manned.

Alicia stormed over to us. I hadn't seen Alicia angry before, so I was terrified when I saw her. It was a nightmare. Her eyes were yellow and showed rage, while darkness surrounded her and scrapped the ground, but left her unharmed.

Vaati tilted his/her. "Alicia? Can you explain what happened?"

Alicia stopped before us and growled. "I need to murder Daiki and kill him 20 times over."

"What did he do this time?" Vaati was now concerned, but it may have stemmed from Alicia's mood.

"Daiki wanted to summon a Cuckoo for some KFC. Obviously, he miscalculated. By a really long shot."

"KFC?" I asked as I tore my eyes away from some Cuckoos were sledding down a ramp that Shadow had made to practice skateboarding.

"Koroki Fried Cuckoos. Apparently there's a recipe for that, even though I doubt that the Koroki's themselves eat the Cuckoos, as they are hard to kill," Alicia spat.

Vaati nodded. "There's also KFC in Lexy's homeworld, although it was like Ken's Fried Chicken..."

"Kentucky," Alicia grumbled. She was grumbling because she had just realized that there was Cuckoo feathers in her hair, and was now swatting them away and blasting them into oblivion.

"What are we supposed to do?" I muttered angrily. "I have thousands of Cuckoos in my house, and they're ruining it!"

Alicia sighed in frustration. "I'll guess we'll have to do it one by one, and then find someone who is willing to house and keep several thousand Cuckoos."

"Okay then..." Vaati began.

After shooing several cuckoos away from the halls, I began to look for the others. I didn't have to go very far, as a cuckoo jumped over me and then Shadow proceeded to crash into me.

"Sorry!" Shadow apologized as he tried to untangle himself from me.

"It's fine, I replied. Shadow nodded as he managed to get untangled and got up.

"How long have you been chasing that particular cuckoo?"

Shadow began his chase again. "I don't know, maybe 2 hours?" He was gone, leaving me alone in the empty hall.

I spotted Raven grabbing Cuckoos and moving them around. Sighing, I ran to help her.

After five grueling hours, every cuckoo was gone. We were sprawled all over the living room, and we were too tired to move.

"Who know that Cuckoos were troublesome?" Aryll panted.

"We all know that," Raven and I replied.

Alicia entered the room, clearly exhausted and on the verge of fainting. "All- all the cuckoos- a bunch of-of farmers of-of Hy-Hyrule g-g-got a gener-generous donation of c-cuckoos."

"That's good," Vaati replied.

"And," Alicia continued. She snapped her fingers and fainted. Vaati coughed and began to spasm. Before I could figure out what happened, Vaati had become a boy again.

"Finally!" He gasped. "No more confusion."

Lexy looked exhausted. "Yeah..." She replied weakly. She looked at Shadow, who was already asleep. "Link?"

"Yeah?"

"Permission to fall asleep?"

"Permission granted," I replied, but Lexy already fell asleep. I looked at my sisters, who also fell asleep. Vaati and I were really the only ones awake.

"Where's Ghirahim?" I asked the wind demon.

"In his room making another wooden bust of himself, because he feels that one can never have too many of those."

"That's nice," I cursed. "And Daiki?"

"Hiding. Alicia scared the crap out of him."

"Seems fair," I yawned. "I'm so..." I fell asleep before I could finish my sentence.

Ace: Seems like a short chapter, but I've wanted to include this part for a while.

Link: So you knocked us out?

Ace: Um...

Link: *whacks Ace in the head* Whatever. I hope the next chapter provides more excitement.

Ace: *grins evilly*

Link: What did I just do?

Ace: *begins to type, but gets knocked out by Vaati*

Vaati: My bad. Until next time, readers!

Vaati: At least nothing crazy is going to happen for a while!
