Sorry to keep you waiting, guys. The college year needed some special attention and I need to brainstorm for future plot details anyways. Other than that, I hope you guys been waiting for a conclusion to the Seaside Hill mini-arc. This chapter should change your opinion of the Deadly Six forever since I'm made them much more competent than their canon counterparts. Now start your engines for this next chapter of Sonic & Sega All Stars: Subspace Unleashed.
Hours had passed since the last fight as a massive gray ship flew across the azure seas during sunset. This ship had a menacing appearance and its technology is on par with Eggman's in terms of design. This ship was created by the Deadly Six since their last defeat on the Lost Hex when they swore revenge on the blue hedgehog and his nemesis. The cockpit of the ship basically looked like the average Zeti with the fanged mouth and curved horns on the head, almost resembling the Zeti leader himself. It had a six wings spanning in different angles, six thrusters for max acceleration, and six slots that contains rows of the ship's best weapons for combat. Zavok was right about his words of revenge and this advanced warship was poof of it. The six Zeti and Nack are hanging out in the mast of the ship to summarize how the overall fight went on Seaside Hill.
Zazz was boasting about how he had put up the best fight against the fasted member of Amy's group, being the hot blooded Zeti he is. Zomom talks about his "delicious" fight, even with his mouth full of mashed and salivated donuts. Zavok talked about how his fight went in a gruff manner since he's the serious leader of the Zeti after all. Nack fills in on his satisfying battle while showcasing a recording of it from a walnut sized projecting device. This isn't surprising since he is known for his nack (no pun intended) for espionage during missions or battle. Zik, Zor, and Zeena were the only one's not involved in the conversation. The elderly blue Zeti meditated to rejuvenate himself after he had such a heated battle. Zeena is effortlessly repainted her nails pink in honor of her newfound rivalry against Amy Rose and reviving her bloodlust. Zor is looking hopelessly at his damaged blue rose in the corner of the docking station unsurprisingly. He looked back at the main screen, like the other Zeti had done, when a snapping sound was made.
"Alright guys, we've did a great job out there and I am proud of your hard work," said the smug weasel.
The malevolent Zeti had cheered for their new master to show some gratitude and thanks for him.
"Well, you had at least treated us like equals unlike a certain fat fool. It's been a pleasure serving you, Master Nack," said the grateful Zavok.
"I hope we will throw a party with lots of sweets and food later on," Zomom said with his mouth full of donuts.
"We don't have time for that, fatass. We have to get back at those fools or fight anyone else who gets in our way first!" barked Zazz.
Zor couldn't help but to walk toward his fellow Zeti and cut a growing conflict between them.
"Relax guys! There's nothing I hate more than seeing a pointless conflict on this ship," he said slowly within each word.
"Zorrie is right! We should be planning at the moment, not fighting. Besides, we should reward ourselves with a break after our tiring fight today," said the female Zeti after flipping her hair.
"I agree with Zeena, we should learn to respect each others opinions or else we might become separated from our spiritual organization," said Zik as he walked towards the group.
Zazz growled in anger and looks away from Zomom in an embarrassed manner for his rash insult. This amused Nack dearly since his underlings can fight a lot and had their own way of dealing with certain circumstances.
"As I was saying, we should report our status to an old friend that you guys may not like. Bear with me on this one, guys!" he said before setting up a transmission on the main screen.
Most of the Zeti glared at the screen since they knew exactly who their master was referring too. The same man they used to serve on the Lost Hex and were abused by his bothersome Cacophonic Conch before their eventual betrayal against him. The screen changes from neon green to a crisp image of another main piloting room of another ship. There is a large spherical figure sitting on a chair in the image in the dark. Zavok did a slightly amusing chuckle since he could recognize that mustache from a while back as the figure clears his throat.
Nack springs onto his favorite pilot seat to see his boss for the first time since he was hired to hunt down Sonic. The figure revealed himself as the infamous Dr. Ivo Robotnik, who is most commonly known by the name "Eggman". He looked real closely at the multicolored, alien demons with a look of displeasure since he knows what they did to him in the past. Zavok looked dead at him with a fake smile and intimidating glare since he's aware of the grudge they have against their former master.
"It's good to see that you've been associated with the wrong crowd, Nack. But its great to hear that you've ran into more heroic imbeciles that are after the Chaos Emeralds. I hope that you've enjoyed your new weapons and your first repair after the last encounter with that hedgehog," he said in his serious tone.
Nack had crossed his arms and nods to show gratitude as his Zeti henchmen looked at him in an unsurprised manner.
"It's been a pleasure working with you, Old Eggmaster. At least you aren't hard on me like you were to these guys in the past. They do have something to say to you in a "civil" manner before we get to the subject," said the snarky weasel.
Without further adieu, he stepped aside to let the entire Deadly Six step in front of the screen to look at their obese ex-master. The more they grinned with strife, the more unimpressed the doctor grew in this negative reunion. Zavok laughed as he stared down the mustachioed boss with his usual way of intimidation.
"It's good to see you, Eggman. We have a new and less abusive master to serve during this massive rebellion. But that doesn't mean that we will turn against you or avoid working with you. On the other hand, I should thank you for giving us the motivation and invention skills to prepare for such a great plan to take over this pathetic world. This deadly ship that we all created years ago is a great example of that," said the red Zeti leader.
"We were all planning you rip you into gory shreds until Master Nack had convinced us that helping you and the rest of these Legion of Subspace punks was much more satisfying," said the arrogant pink Zeti.
Zeena did a slight chuckle in response since almost everything that comes out of Zazz's mouth had never failed to amuse her. Master Zik hopped onto his staff to get a better look at the doctor's face before his wise share of words.
"Ignoring Zazz's usual words of violence, it's an honor being able to serve you without any form of strife again. I bet that you are surprised that we managed to make this wondrous ship and our own personal army," said the wise Zeti.
"Well, I'm more annoyed than surprised," said the doctor as he scratches his head, "I bet you ripped off my Badnik designs as well with your army."
Zomom did a loud burp and pats his massive belly since he wanted to speak to Eggman at the moment.
"We made our own original designs based on the Zeti race from our home planet for more destructive designs unlike your cutesy animal robots," he said.
This made Eggman frown deeply since he didn't like it when others insult him or his magnificent robot designs.
"Despite your petty insult, mind showing me the blueprints or an example of your robots?" he asked.
Being the bearer of bad news, Zor decided to show some good news in the form of some blueprints. Several of the sketches reveal some pretty interesting designs of different body types and purposes. One was a masculine design with a muscular structure and two long horns and another had a feminine design with one horn and a sleek appearance. The other two designs were oblong that had arms designed for flight and horns that served as laser cannons for aerial combat.
The most interesting design, however, was one that looked like a combination of the Deadly Six in the form of one mechanical killing machine. It had Zavok's physique, Zomom's arms, Zik's staff, Zeena's tail, Zazz's fanged jaws, and Zor's horns. This could possibly be one of the strongest grunts of the Zeti's mechanical army considering its notes and design. This intrigued the doctor to the point of making him amused and do his mischievous chuckle. Zavok grinned since he expected the pompous human to react this way towards their designs and laughs as well.
"You Zeti had really outdone yourself. I can tell that you guys will be very useful to the Legion of Subspace with your new skills and creations. Are you all attacking at once or splitting up to attack separate targets?" he asked.
"Now that you mention it, having us split up wouldn't be a bad idea as long as one of them stays behind to watch the ship," said the devious Nack.
"You don't need to care since we have robotic dummies of ourselves to fool any intruders and pilot the ship at all times," said the gloomy Zor.
A robotic, yet similar replica of Zazz breaks into the pilot room to greet his organic creators. He had the same maniacal expression, colorful appearance, rash personality, and crazy voice as the real Zazz as he reenacted one of his many rage moments.
"Ook ook eeeh eeeh ….. rauuuuuuggghh!" Dr. Badboon was surprised at the colorful creatures that Eggman was communicating to on his screen when he interrupted the conversation.
A semi-bald mad scientist joined in on the amusing conversation and widened his eyes at the peculiar Zeti on the screen.
"Rauugh rauugh ooooh ooh," said the simian scientist.
"You are right Badboon, these creatures don't like they are from this world. Do you know them, Robotnik?" said the surprised Dr. Z.
Eggman looked at his fellow colleagues in an amusing manner and tried to explain the situation to them without laughing at their surprise.
"These are the Deadly Six, a group of extraterrestrial creatures that used to serve me when I had visited the Lox Hex. They betrayed me and tried to destroy our world with my invention when Sonic got rid of the conch. These guys will be joining our ever-growing Legion of Subspace to gather all the Emeralds and take over the world," explained the spherical scientist.
Badboon and Z looked at each other in shock and nod in agreement a few seconds later.
"Good thing you've met these guys since we need all the help we can get," said the dinosaur obsessed scientist.
Both parties explained about their plans during this dark moment afterwards.
Meanwhile, Sonic's group is heading towards the always sunny shores of Seaside Hill after their intense encounter with Selvaria's squadron. NiGHTS and Jack Frost are flying together, being the good friends since the day he saved their partners. Atolm is still carrying Gilius and Azel on his scaly back as he casts a massive shadow over the rest of his master's allies. Orta still rode on her own smaller dragon with her love interest Prince Ali of the Oasis Kingdom in the clear skies.
Tails is still keeping an eye on AiAi and Amigo from the Tornado since their vehicles were barely catching up with everyone else during the journey. Being the leader, Sonic is always running ahead of the group in steady and quick pace to keep things in order. He is confident that Amy and the others are waiting on the beach as she promised for both groups to team up. The blue hedgehog looked back at the rest of the group following him and counts to seeing if no one was left behind during this long run.
"Hey guys, we are almost there! I hope you guys don't mind any hot weather and bright sun since that's what makes this spot very famous!" said the excited Sonic.
"No, I don't mind since most of my journeys were always hot whether we were flying together or not," Orta shouted.
Unlike how she usually was, she's much more lively and smiled more often ever since she met Sonic and his group. This was the first time in a while since she had such good friends and with her mother is by her side. Prince Ali is on the same boat since someone not only cares for him deeply, but wants to rule his kingdom with him. The two were very close since the argument and warm embrace that they had back in Dragon Canyon, making it seem likely that they may be king and queen in the near future. Azel watched them from above and felt pretty happy for them, thinking of the times that her and Edge used to be together after the dragon conflict. Gillius did a hearty chuckle to ruin the moment and witness Azel's cute embarrassed face.
"Yeah, she's a great daughter and you need to do your best to support her now that you're alive. Your hypothetical son-in-law does look like a strong man that could fight by her side like a real warrior. You should be proud of how much she had changed since the time you "weren't around her"," said the noble dwarf.
She thought deeply into his words and gave him a kind look to accept them very well. Everyone had arrived at the nearest beach and searched the entire perimeter for any signs of Amy or the rest of her group. The dragon riders stayed airborne to search the massive hills while the drivers or runners paced around the hot sands of the beach.
"Amy! Amy, where are you?" Sonic shouts as he run around the island.
NiGHTS flew around every corner of the cove like a night owl with a look of determination and concern for his missing allies.
"Alex Kidd! Billy Hatcher!" he shouted during his erratic flight.
AiAi rolled around the back of the beach in hopes of finding his friends as Amigo scales the cliffs for any sign of life. Jack Frost ice skates across the sea with the help of his freezing abilities to see if there's any ships around that Amy and the others could be hiding in. Even on the tops of their respective dragons, Azel and Orta could find nobody at all with their assigned partners. Both Atolm and the Blue Dragon even roared together in order to get Amy or anyone else's attention on these sunny side islands. Tails hovered to a very peculiar area, the same place where Bayonetta was doing her training and fighting angels. What really got his attention was a kunai with a special message on it. He reached for it with his hand as his heart beats as fast as his spinning tails during this discovery. He opened it and read the entire message within an astounding thirty seconds like the young genius he is. The more he read, the more cautious and panicked he grew.
"Hey guys! I've found something that could have come from Joe Musashi!" Tails shouted.
Sonic and the gang gathered around the airborne fox as he looked at the letter with caution and anticipated the participation of his group. The blue hedgehog beckoned his little buddy to toss him the letter with his own eyes and felt the same feeling that he had felt earlier.
"What's wrong Sonic? Are they missing?" said the concerned Nightmaren.
To answer his question, Sonic shook his head slightly with a more serious expression. This caused the others to really grow worried since they had possibly failed to arrive in time, especially the moping Amigo and Aiai.
"Yeah, but we shouldn't worry since they found a few new powerful allies to help them out. Among one of them was a nice robot that I spared in the past due to Amy's requests," he said.
This time, he was smiling as if this was good news to him and for everyone else around him at the moment.
"So we can just skedaddle to our next destination, hee?" said the jolly snow demon.
Sonic gave Jack Frost his trademark thumbs up to answer the question like the upbeat guy he is. The gang cheered for the hedgehog triumphantly while both dragons lowered themselves towards the group to see what the whole ruckus was about.
"Sonic, is the lass and her comrades on this island? You all do seem very happy about something unless it's good news," said the green dwarf.
"No, Amy and the others are fine and they won't be needing our help this time around. We just need to split up and find the last few Chaos Emeralds. We already know that one of them is owned by the Legion of Subspace," Sonic responded.
"Who are they with and what happened with them based on the note that you're holding, Tails," Azel asked.
"An old robotic "friend" of ours and a mysterious female ally. They also seem to have run into those dastardly Zeti that Sonic had beaten in the past," said the young fox.
"Zeti? Are they a special group of creatures native to this place?" Ali asked.
"No, they are from the Lost Hex that orbits our world and they are no joke. Well, based on what was said in the note unlike how they were when we've last met," said Sonic before nervously rubbing his head.
"Well, at least they are safe and went along with their quest. We should be more worried about where's our next destination," said Gilius.
"Yeah about that, I am basically out of ideas of where else to go at the moment," said the nervous fox.
This news alone led almost everyone to have a "face fault" moment in response to the supposedly intelligent prodigy's response. The dragons themselves aren't the ones to do so since they would obviously drop their human cargo. Embarrassed, Tails sadly looked at the ground for getting his ground stranded without any sense of future objectives. High hopes weren't flying high anymore due to the massive guilt that inhabited the depths of his heart.
"Ah, you forgot to make a Chaos Emerald tracking device. That's something we should have done back in Yuria. But, we can do it now since things are less hectic and we have all the time in the world," said Sonic.
This led the two tailed fox to feel much better since Sonic gave him an idea that could solve this minor issue before it became any bigger.
"Oh, thanks for getting my hopes back up. It should take me a good 45 minutes to make one using the energy of either emerald like how I've made a Master Emerald version for Knuckles a while ago. After all, we don't have any for of information at the moment," he said.
He heads back to his Tornado in the area where they landed to begin the development process of their Chaos Emerald radar.
"See what I tell you, nothings going to stop us from getting these emeralds. Now for us to wait patiently until Tails get done with the radar. We might as well relax, eat, and do whatever at this time," said the energetic hedgehog.
With that being said, everyone basically decided to set camp on the island like Amy's group had done and have their first well deserved break from their long journey.
Back in the G.U.N. headquarters, Rouge and the rest of her comrades were analyzing the new data recorded by Opa Opa and AGES to learn more about the Legion of Subspaces plans. The jewel loving bat sits on her chair, studying the overall footing with a look of determination. Several of the footage reveals a ship bombing a section of Japan, which is soon as Beat and Knuckles's group had left that area as planned by the Legion of Subspace. A red and black figure was also seen observing the destruction and cackling like there's no tomorrow.
"Who is that man? He does seem to remind me of NiGHTS and could possibly be associated with him," she said.
"None of the citizens, even the hosts of the Extreme Gear Rider Tournaments, know that much about the Dream World or anyone else that knows NiGHTS at all. It's safe to assume that he could be his rival like a certain partner of yours is to Sonic," said one of the G.U.N. officers.
"Yeah, he is a handful when it comes to going on mission with or reasoning with him. This time, he's the one going alone to investigate since he told me and everyone else about this when the tournament was under attack," Rouge said coyly.
"Where did he have to go?" said a young G.U.N. officer.
"The commander had assigned him to investigate Red Mountain since that was the last site of the Legion's attack before they all scattered for different locations. It would be a good way of getting more information and learning about their goals," said an older female officer.
"That's pretty convenient. I've also heard that he have sent Omega to do reconnaissance like Opa Opa and AGES," he responded.
Everyone looked back at the screen since a new recording from AGES was shown. It reveals a shocking scene occurring at Angel Island. KapuKapu, Rhythm Rogues, and Big Bulls are searching the ruined site of Metal Sonic's last attack to find any clues of the remaining emeralds. Rouge squint her eyes as she analyses this peculiar situation. A gray haired man wearing a black coat orders everyone to report back to the ship, while holding a Master Emerald shard and a device that appears to be showing the next location of them.
"Eggman, we've officially caught on to this wicked plan of yours," she said.
Their change of plans was very interesting indeed as the G.U.N. had the all the information they need for this serious case.
The Deadly Six had deadlier plans by their side while Eggman forgave them despite their last encounter. Sonic and friends are moving on to their next destination after finding out what happened with Amy's group, with high confidence of foiling the Legion of Subspace's plans. Rouge and the G.U.N. had been analyzing the LOS's patterns with the help of Opa Opa and AGES over the past few weeks. Who knows if we might see a special hedgehog make an appearance in the next chapter. Alright, I'll see you real soon and I'll be less lazy since it's the summer time after all.
