Clary seemed to be floating on a cloud when she returned home later that day. While she and Jace had already gone on a date, him asking to date her was completely different. I suppose I have a boyfriend now she thought.

She voiced this to Jace and all he did was laugh and kiss her forehead. They had decided to wait to tell Jonathan anything so they could both be sure that this is what they wanted. For now they were content to just be with each other. And of course, the plan also was that since they were dating Simon would back off. She could tell that while they weren't telling Jonathan anything, living together was going to be hard. They did have boundaries as their relationship was new, but the temptation to constantly be with each other was going to eat at them.

Already, it had been only three days and Clary and Jace were making Jonathan suspicious. It was sort of hard to leave the house at the exact same time with Jace making some excuse as to why Jonathan can't go with him but Clary was. The upside to having to dodge Jonathan and awkward interactions with Jace was that Simon had finally begun to leave her alone. He was acting in more of a friendly manner towards her now. So that was good, it made rehearsal a little better.

Everything seemed to be settling down; she hadn't received any weird notes recently. She hadn't found her house key but gave up on trying to find it, thinking that she had probably just left it somewhere and it was lost. No one knew where she lived anyway. She just went out and got another key cut. The lost key had been pushed to the back of her mind, Rock of Ages was having its opening night that night after a brief closure so they could train the new cast members, Clary included. Now they were due to open again tonight and Clarys stomach was in knots. All day, no matter how much she tried, she couldn't relax. She knew that it was a mix of nervousness and excitement. She was amazed that the time was finally here, she would be performing on Broadway every day.

She had only had half an hour before she had to leave to get to the theatre. At the moment she was pacing back and forth in her room, wringing her hands together.

Her pacing was interrupted by a light knocking on her door. She looked up, slightly unsurprised to see Jace standing there.

'Can I come in?' he asked

She nodded her head and he walked in and sat on her bed.

'Are you okay?'

She stopped her pacing for a moment to look at him, 'just nervous.'

He chuckled lightly under his breath and patted the bed beside him. When she sat beside him he took her hands in his.

'You know, the first time I heard you sing it completely took my breath away?'

He continued after Clary shook her head. 'I'd never heard someone sing with the level of emotion that you do. You'll be fine, you're stunning on stage, and you can stun a crowd easily.'

Clary smiled gently at Jace and placed a soft kiss on his lips.

It was just after the final applause and after Clary was rushed backstage that t finally hit her, she had just finished her first Broadway show. It was amazing, nothing would ever compare to how she felt after the curtain closed. She was stepping out of her small attached bathroom into her dressing room when there was a knock on the door. She slipped her rob on, having just gotten out of the shower, and opened the door. Jace stood waiting for her with a small bouquet of roses in his hands.

He held them out 'For you.'

She smiled and took them, 'Where is everyone else?'

Jace blushed and looked at his feet. 'I convinced them to see you later, so we could go out and celebrate. If that's okay with you?'

Clary smiled and nodded, 'One second, let me just change.'

Twenty minutes later saw Jace and Clary seated in a nearby restaurant, tucked into the corner of a street. They spent the walk there merrily talking and basking in the joy of each other, the talk continued even when their food arrived and most chatter would have ceased.

'So then when I was- ' Clary paused in the middle of her sentence and looked around the restaurant. There weren't many other people in the restaurant but all seemed very preoccupied with eating or chatting.

'What's wrong Clary?'

She shook her head, 'I thought I heard someone taking pictures, in recession.'

Jace looked around too, 'I don't think anyone was, anyway they might have been taking a picture of something else.'

'I don't know, I just have a weird feeling, like someones watching us.'

'You're just imagining it Clary, No one is watching us. We can leave soon if it will make you feel better, go back home and watch a movie with your family.' Jace tried to console her, trying hard to ignore the exact same feeling he had felt for the whole dinner.
