I AM THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD I KNOW. My old computer's hard drive completely crashed and I lost the next 4 chapters including this one! And then I had all my uni assignments to re-do so I had to wait to re-do the chapters!

It has been so hectic! I promise I'll try to update more often, I'm on uni break now so I should be able to!

Anyway this is kinda a lousy chapter I'm sorry, this episode didn't really appeal to me all that much to start with then I had to write it twice!

~10~

When I woke up I found myself cramped into one of the cells that held the infected people. Super creepy.

The Doctor was already awake and arguing with Rose/Cassandra who was on the other side of the door.

"Just let Rose go, Cassandra." The Doctor demanded.

Rose/Cassandra smirked. "I will. As soon as I've found someone younger, and less common, maybe your little jail bait will do the trick." She sent me a look before continuing "Then I'll junk her with the waste. Now hushaby. It's showtime." She then turned quickly walking away from the cell.

I turned to the Doctor "So what are we going to do?" I turned around to see his expression, which was very difficult to do in the limited amount of space we had.

The Doctor grabbed my arms to keep me from falling over, then shook his head "I'm not sure yet, but we don't have long till the next pump of diseases."

I sent him an alarmed look "Did you really have to tell me that?"

The Doctor went to reply but was cut off by the door, which I was leaning on, opening, sending me to the ground.

As I got up I noticed that all the doors were opened "What've you done?" Obviously the Doctor had noticed too.

"Gave the system a shot of adrenaline, just to wake them up." Cass-Rose informed us. "And Jail Bait seems a little too awkward for me, so I might skip on taking her body. See you!"

I was not awkward… was I?

"Don't touch them! Whatever you do, don't touch!" The Doctor warned before grabbing my arm and pulling me after Cass-Rose and her little minion man.

One of the disease men shoves his hand into a socket, electrocuting himself, but that wasn't the worrying part, that part was the fact that by doing so he had blown all of the locks on EVERY cell.

Oh shit.

"Oh, my God." Cass-Rose squealed, running up the stairs.

"What the hell have you done?" I had to agree with the Doctor there, this was not good.

Cass-Rose shook her head "It wasn't me." Seriously?

"One touch and you get every disease in the world, and I want that body safe, Cassandra. We've got to go down." The Doctor grabbed both of us, pulling us back down the stairs."

Cass-Rose looked panicked. "But there's thousands of them!"

I glared at her "Oh really I hadn't noticed!"

The Doctor ignored my comment. "Run! Down! Down! Go down!"

"This building is under quarantine." Some cat lady said over the intercom. Lovely, No way out now.

"Keep going! Go down!" the Doctor urged, pushing me ahead of him.

We finally make it down to the basement and Cass-Rose runs to the lift.

"No, the lifts have closed down." I called to her, but she continued anyway. Rude.

"She's right!" The Doctor continued. "That's the quarantine. Nothing's moving."

She looked around for a bit then ran off "This way!" So you'll listen to him and not me? Bitch.

"Mistress!" I heard her minion call out. I turned to see him get cut off from us by a swarm of the infected people. I move to help him but Cass-Rose just pulls me away.

"But someone will touch him!" I protested.

"Leave him! He's just a clone thing. He's only got a half life. Come on!"

I looked over at the Doctor who looked torn. "I'm sorry, I can't let her escape." He grabbed my hand pulling us after her.

Cass-Rose runs to the door across the room but when she opens it there is a group of people there too. Okay maybe not that door then?

"We're trapped! What am I going to do?" She wailed. Oh get over yourself.

The Doctor gave her a grave look "Well, for starters, you're going to leave that body. That psychograft is banned on every civilised planet. You're compressing Rose to death."

Cass-Rose pouted "But I've got nowhere to go. My original skin's dead."

I shrugged "Not our problem." She glared at me.

The Doctor nodded at my comment "You can float as atoms in the air. Now, get out. Give her back to us."

Cass-Rose gave me a sneaky grin. Oh hell no. "You asked for it."

THIRD PERSON POV:

"Blimey, my head. Where'd she go?" Rose groaned.

"Oh my god, I'm a midget." Nina spoke, but it wasn't her voice.

"Cassandra?" Rose asked, examining Nina. No it definitely wasn't her.

"Cassandra. Get. Out. Of. Her." The Doctor growled. "Anyone one but her."

Cass-Nina sent him a sly look "Oh yes this girl is different isn't she? She's special."

"Cassandra. RIGHT NOW." The Doctor's eyes flashed dangerously.

Cass-Nina rolled her eyes "Oh fine, be a spoil- sport."

And with that she launched herself into the Doctor.

~10~

Oh. That was weird.

Having someone else in your head was the strangest experience. One that I hoped I'd never have to experience again.

"Oh, my. This is different." The Doctor grinned weirdly. Cassandra. "Goodness me, I'm a man. Yum. So many parts. And hardly used." He winked at me. Oh dear. "Oh, oh, two hearts! Oh, baby, I'm beating out a samba!" Cass-Doctor did some weird dance thing. What the hell was happening.

I glared at her/him… whatever. "Get out of him."

She ignored me "Oo, he's slim, and a little bit foxy. You've thought so too." She grinned at me "I've been inside your head. You've been looking. You like it. Both of you do." She looked between Rose and I. So awkward…

Suddenly the diseased people burst in causing Cass-Doctor to panic. "What do we do? What would he do? The Doctor, what the hell would he do?" she grabbed my shoulders.

I looked around before connecting eyes with Rose who nodded to the ladder "Ladder. We've got to get up."

Cass-Doctor pushed past both Rose and I "Out of the way, midget, blondie!" what a lovely human being.

We hurried after her quickly. "If you get out of the Doctor's body, he can think of something." Rose called up

Cass-Doctor sighed "Yap, yap, yap. God, it was tedious inside your head. Hormone city." She then turned on me "And you, your mind is surprisingly intellectual, but so strange, it was like talking to a carnival man!"

I glared up at her. I was not weird. "We're going to die if-" Rose cut herself off with a scream as Matron Casp grabs her ankle.

"Ger off of her!" I screamed down at the cat nurse.

"All our good work. All that healing. The good name of the Sisterhood. You have destroyed everything!" Bit dramatic I must say.

"Go and play with a ball of string." Cass-Doctor huffed.

"Everywhere, disease. This is the human world. Sickness!" a diseased arm reached up, grasping Casp's ankle causing her to fall, screaming. Not good.

"Move!" I screamed up to Cass-Doctor.

Cass-Doctor stopped at the doors, unable to open them "Now what do we do?"

"Use the sonic screwdriver." Rose demanded.

Cass-Doctor pulled it out of the Doctors jacket pocket "You mean this thing?"

"Yes! That thing!" I huffed. Hurry the hell up!

Cass-Doctor shrugged "Well, I don't know how. That Doctor's hidden away all his thoughts."

"Go back into me then!" I yelled "Then the Doctor can open it! Just hurry the hell up!"

Cass-Doctor nodded "Hold on tight."

THIRD PERSON

"Lovely, carnival midget city." Cass-Nina drawled out before turning to the Doctor who was glaring daggers at her "Open it!"

The Doctor kept on glaring "Not till you get out of her."

"We need the Doctor." Cass-Nina protested.

"I order you to leave her!" he roared "And never enter her mind again."

So Cassandra moved back into the Doctor.

~10~

Scary Doctor was scary. Even when he wasn't actually yelling at me.

"No matter how difficult the situation, there is no need to shout." Cass-Doctor huffed.

I glared at her "Cassandra, get out of him!"

"But I can't go into you, he simply refuses and he will be the same with 'chavtastic' down there. He's so rude."

I shook my head "I don't care. Just do something."

Cass-Doctor adopted a queasy look "Oh, I am so going to regret this."

Cassandra transferred into the sick women just below us. "Oh, sweet Lord. I look disgusting."

The Doctor quickly opens the doors "Good to have you both back," he grinned, pulling us both into the elevator.

But just before the doors closed Cassandra launched herself back into Rose's body.

The Doctor rounded on her as soon as the doors were closed. "That was your last warning, Cassandra!"

Cass-Rose was quiet when she spoke "Inside her head. They're so alone. They keep reaching out, just to hold us. All their lives and they've never been touched."

I sighed, I couldn't help but feel bad for her, maybe it was because she was in my best friends body, I don't know, all I could do was offer her my hand. She smiled at me softly.

We exited onto Ward 26 were the Duke of Manhattan's lady friend lunges at us with a metal stand thing.

Well I wasn't expecting that.

"We're safe! We're safe! We're safe! We're clean! We're clean! Look, look." The Doctor called, pushing himself in front of me and Rose.

"Show me your skin." She demanded.

We all flashed her our arms. "Look, clean. Look, if we'd been touched, we'd be dead. So how's it going up here? What's the status?" the Doctor asked.

The lady shrugged "There's nothing but silence from the other wards. I think we're the only ones left. And I've been trying to override the quarantine. If I can trip a signal over to New New York, they can send a private executive squad."

I shook my head "You can't do that. If they forced entry, they'd break quarantine."

She glared at me "I am not dying in here."

The Doctor pushed me behind him "We can't let a single particle of disease get out. There is ten million people in that city. They'd all be at risk. Now, turn that off!"

"Not if it gets me out."

The Doctor sent her an aggravated look. "All right, fine. So I have to stop you lot as well. Suits me. Rose, novice Hame, everyone! Excuse me, your Grace. Get me intravenous solutions for every single disease. Move it!"

We all quickly collected a bunch of drip bags, attaching them to a silk rope around the Doctor's body.

"How's that? Will that do?" he asked me.

I shrugged. "I don't know. Will it do for what?"

The Doctor opened the lift without answering me "The lifts aren't working." Cass-Rose said to him.

"Not moving. Different thing. Here we go." He put the sonic screwdriver between his teeth and ran. Is he? Seriously?

"But you're not going to…" Cass-Rose started.

He jumped, grabbing the lift cable and attaching a round piece of equipment to it.

"What the hell are you doing?" I laughed.

"I'm going down! Come on!" he grinned at me.

My eyes widened "I'm scared of heights."

"I need another pair of hands!" I gave him a look causing his eyes to soften "Trust me, Nina!"

I closed my eyes and jumped, landing on the Doctor's back.

"That body better be in one piece when we come back Cassandra!" and with that we were flying down the lift shaft.

I let go of the Doctor once we had stopped at the bottom "I think I'm going to vomit."

He turned to me "Now, listen. When I say so, take hold of that lever."

I gave him a confused look "There's still a quarantine down there, we can't let them out!"

The Doctor grabbed my hands "Hold that lever! I'm cooking up a cocktail. I know a bit about medicine myself." He started to pour the contents of the drip bags into the disinfectant tank. "Now, that lever's going to resist. But keep it in position. Hold onto it with everything you've got."

I nodded "What about you?"

He flashed me a grin "I've got an appointment. The Doctor is in." oh he thinks he's so clever.

He dropped down into the lift calling out to the diseased people "I'm in here! Come on!" what the hell was he doing? "Pull that lever!" he called up to me. "Come and get me. Come on!" he yelled to the diseased people once more "I'm in here! Come on!"

'Commence stage one disinfection.'

The contents of the disinfection tank pour onto him, the diseased people enter the lift, getting sprayed then leaving, passing on the disinfectant.

Oh that was brilliant!

I quickly lowered myself down into the lift with the Doctor's help.

"Pass it on!" the Doctor yelled, a huge grin on his face.

We exited the lift to see all the infected people cured.

I grinned up at the Doctor "You cured them! You really are a Doctor," I joked, he just winked at me.

A young girl came up to the Doctor, hugging him "That's right. Hey, there we go, sweetheart. Go to him. Go on, that's it. That's it." He moved her over to another one of the cured people. "It's a new sub-species, Nina! A brand new form of life. New humans! Look at them. Look! Grown by cats, kept in the dark, fed by tubes, but completely, completely alive. The human race just keeps on going, keeps on changing. Life will out! Ha!"

"Ha!" I laughed, causing him to grin and sweep me into his arms.

~10~

A little bit later we had made our way back up to Ward 26 to get Rose and get rid of Cassandra.

"The Face of Boe!" I exclaimed as I saw that he was awake.

"You were supposed to be dying." The Doctor commented.

'There are better things to do today. Dying can wait.'

"Oh, I hate telepathy. Just what I need, a head full of big face." Cass-Rose spoke, coming up behind us.

The Doctor just shh-ed her. 'have grown tired with the universe, Doctor, but you have taught me to look at it anew.'

"There are legends, you know, saying that you're millions of years old." The Doctor said.

I could almost see the Face of Boe smirk 'There are? That would be impossible.'

The Doctor grinned "Wouldn't it just. I got the impression there was something you wanted to tell me."

'A great secret.'

"So the legend says." I piped up.

'It can wait.'

The Doctor's face fell "Oh, does it have to?"

'We shall meet again, Doctor, for the third time, for the last time, and the truth shall be told. And Nina, impossible girl, terrible times come, but don't forget to follow your heart. Until then…'

The Face of Boe then just beamed away. That was awesome.

"That is enigmatic. That, that is, that is textbook enigmatic." The Doctor looked on in awe but then he turned to Cass-Rose "And now for you."

Cass-Rose pouted "But everything's happy. Everything's fine. Can't you just leave me?"

The Doctor glared at her "You've lived long enough. Leave that body and end it, Cassandra."

She started to tear up "I don't want to die."

I shrugged "No one does."

Cass-Rose turned to the Doctor "Help me."

The Doctor shook his head "I can't."

"Mistress!" Cassandra's minion called out just at the right time.

Cass-Rose turned to him "Oh, you're alive!"

"I kept myself safe for you, mistress."

Cass-Rose got a devious look on her face "A body. And not just that, a volunteer." Not good.

"Don't you dare. He's got a life of his own." The Doctor warned her.

Her minion turned on the Doctor "But I worship the mistress. I welcome her."

I shook my head "You can't, Cassandra, you-" but it was too late.

Cassandra pulls herself out of Rose's body, causing her to collapse. The Doctor grabs her before she hits the floor "Oh! You all right? Whoa! Okay?"

Rose nodded, before looking between me and the Doctor. "Yeah. Hello!"

The Doctor grinned "Hello."

I pulled her into a hug "Welcome back."

"Oh, sweet Lord. I'm a walking doodle." Cass-Minion spoke, bringing our attention back to her.

"You can't stay in there. I'm sorry, Cassandra, but that's not fair. I can take you to the city. They can build you a skin tank and you can stand trial for what you've done." The Doctor told her.

"Well, that would be rather dramatic." She mused. "Possibly my finest hour, and certainly my finest hat, but I'm afraid we don't have time. Poor little Chip is only a half-life, and he's been through so much. His heart is racing so. He's failing. I don't think he's going to last-" Cassandra fell to her knees, grabbing her chest.

"Are you all right?" I asked, grabbing her arm.

She nodded "I'm fine. I'm dying, but that's fine."

"I can take you to the city." The Doctor started but she cut him off.

"No, you won't. Everything's new on this planet. There's no place for Chip and me any more. You're right, Doctor. It's time to die, and that's good."

The Doctor nodded "Come on. There's one last thing I can do."

~10~

The real voice of Cassandra ran out through the restaurant as we exited the TARDIS "Oh no, don't. Stop it. Simply not true. Tiny. The beaches were so dismal, and the mosquitoes were..."

Cass-Chip turned to us "Thank you."

"Just go. And don't look back." The Doctor spoke.

"Good luck." Rose put in.

Cass-Chip made her way over to her past self. "Excuse me, Lady Cassandra."

"I'm sorry, I don't need anything right now. I'm fine, thank you." Like I've said, lovely lady.

Cass-Chip stopped her "No, I just wanted to say you look beautiful."

Cassandra looked pleased "Well, that's very kind, you strange little thing. Thank you very much."

"I mean it. You look so beautiful."
